Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model oriented towards fun learning with the One Stay Another Stray (OSAS) technique on students' communication skills in the reproductive system material. This research was a pre-experimental study with a quantitative approach. The sample was class XI.F1 students of SMA Negeri 1 Kapur IX in the 2024/2025 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using essay tests on communication skills administered through pretest and posttest. The results showed that the average posttest score was higher than the pretest score, increasing from 38.79 to 84.39. Normality and homogeneity tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the PBL model with OSAS on students’ communication skills. These findings suggest that implementing PBL combined with a fun learning approach and OSAS technique effectively enhances students’ communication abilities.

Abstract

Poverty literacy is an important ability in supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), which includes aspects of knowledge, knowledge skills, and mindset. This study aims to analyze the literacy of the arrival of phase E students on biotechnology issues at SMAN 12 Padang. This study is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique for this study was carried out randomly using a simple random sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 196 students spread from Phase E1 to Phase E11. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test question related to biotechnology issues that referred to the desire literacy indicator. The results of this study indicate that the literacy of the arrival of students at SMAN 12 Padang is classified as very low at 51.80%. Based on the analysis of the interest literacy aspect, it can be seen that in the knowledge aspect there is a value of 45.04%, in the knowledge skills aspect with a value of 60.40%, and the mindset aspect with a value of 53.23%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the desire literacy of students in Phase E at SMAN 12 Padang is still very low.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of sustainability literacy of Phase E students on the issue of viruses at SMAN 1 Batang Anai. The method used is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 179 students selected through simple random sampling. The data in this study were obtained through the results of a test instrument in the form of multiple-choice questions (objective) arranged based on aspects of sustainability literacy. These test questions have been tested and proven to meet the validity criteria. The results show that the level of sustainability literacy of students in the knowledge aspect is in the medium category (60.68%), the knowledge-skills aspect (57.43%) is in the low category and the mindset aspect (58.47%) is in the low category. Thus, it can be concluded that the level of sustainability literacy of Phase E students on the issue of viruses at SMAN 1 Batang Anai is still in the low category.

Abstract

Biology learning in high school still faces challenges in achieving optimal learning outcomes, especially in complex materials such as the circulatory system. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) cooperative learning model equipped with Quizizz on student learning outcomes in circulatory system material. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) using Kurt Lewin's model with four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted at SMAN 2 Batusangkar in November 2024 with 34 students of class XI.F3 as research subjects. Data analysis techniques used descriptive quantitative analysis to measure the improvement of learning outcomes from pre-cycle to cycle II. The results showed significant improvement in cognitive aspects with average scores increasing from 61.6 (pre-cycle) to 74.7 (cycle I) and 88 (cycle II), and learning completeness increased from 14.71% to 97.06%. The attitude aspect also improved from 35.1% (pre-cycle) to 86.4% (cycle II). The combination of CIRC model with Quizizz platform proved effective in creating active, collaborative, and meaningful learning in improving students' understanding of biology concepts and positive attitudes.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan meningkatkan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Biologi menggunakan media video animasi dari Youtube. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan partisipasi siswa akibat penggunaan media konvensional serta minimnya integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Metode yang diterapkan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kurt Lewin dengan empat tahapan: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 29 siswa kelas XI.F4 di SMAN 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi belajar dari 65% (pra-siklus) menjadi 73,8% (siklus I) dan 88,6% (siklus II). Aktivitas belajar juga meningkat dari 60% (pra-siklus) menjadi 71,3% (siklus I) dan 84,2% (siklus II). Disimpulkan bahwa video animasi Youtube efektif menciptakan pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif, sehingga meningkatkan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar Biologi siswa SMA.

Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology offers significant opportunities to enhance learning quality, particularly in biology, a subject often perceived by students as abstract and difficult to comprehend. This study aims to examine the effect of using YouTube-based animation media on the cognitive learning outcomes of Grade X senior high school students in the topic of viruses. The research employed an experimental method with a Posttest Only Control Design, involving 67 students from SMA Negeri 2 Batusangkar in the 2025/2026 academic year. Participants were divided into two groups: an experimental class using YouTube-based animation media and a control class using PowerPoint media. Data were collected through a validated multiple-choice test consisting of 20 items. Data analysis was conducted using normality, homogeneity, and t-tests via SPSS version 20. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and there was a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental and control classes (significance value 0.019 < 0.050). The average posttest score of the experimental class was 79.19, higher than the control class score of 71. These findings indicate that the use of YouTube-based animation media positively affects students’ cognitive learning outcomes. The study concludes that integrating innovative digital media into biology instruction is essential and offers practical contributions for teachers in designing effective and engaging learning strategies.

Abstract

Pembelajaran di sekolah sangat bergantung pada peran guru sebagai pendidik dalam mendukung kegiatan belajar-mengajar. Fasilitas seperti sumber belajar dan media pembelajaran mendukung proses ini dengan meningkatkan kualitas dan efektivitas pembelajaran.  Dengan memakai media pembelajaran, peserta didik bisa menjadi lebih tertarik pada pelajaran baru, dan mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mudah. Booklet adalah satu dari banyak jenis sumber pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan oleh guru, yang menawarkan kepraktisan, efektivitas, dan daya tarik visual yang dapat menyokong pemahaman peserta didik tentang materi pelajaran. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini dengan tujuan untuk mengevaluasi validitas bahan ajar yang ditambahkan dalam buku pelajaran biologi di kelas X SMA/MA. Dalam penelitian ini, meta-analisis digunakan untuk mengumpulkan, memeriksa, dan menganalisis data dari penelitian sebelumnya. Metode ini juga bersifat kuantitatif karena melibatkan satuan hitung dan statistik dalam analisisnya. Hasil meta-analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan booklet untuk bahan ajar tambahan dari 16 artikel sangat valid dalam hal kelayakan isi, bahasa, penyajian, dan kegrafikan.

Abstract

Hal ini bermula karena materi bacaan yang ditugaskan memerlukan hafalan, sehingga menyulitkan siswa untuk fokus mempelajari biologi. Akibatnya, metode pembelajaran tidak berjalan sebagaimana mestinya, dan tujuan pembelajaran tidak tercapai oleh sekolah atau tidak tercapai sama sekali. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan suatu model pembelajaran yang dapat memaksimalkan prestasi akademik siswa. Penggunaan model tipe kooperatif dengan gambar dan gambar ialah salah satu pendekatan yang dapat diaplikasikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan paradigma pembelajaran kooperatif jenis tertentu (gambar dan gambar). Hasil pembelajaran menjadi masalah di sini. Tinjauan literatur adalah pendekatan penelitian yang dipakai. Untuk melakukan penelitian ini, sejumlah makalah nasional yang diterbitkan di Indonesia direview. Temuan analisis beberapa makalah menunjukkan dampak model kooperatif tipe picture and picture terhadap hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan meta-analisis penelitian sebelumnya dan menggunakan metode kuantitatif untuk dapat mengetahui bagaimana hasil belajar biologi siswa dapat dipengaruhi oleh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (problem based learning). Google Scholar, yang digunakan untuk mencari jurnal, digunakan untuk mengumpulkan informasi untuk studi ini. Sepuluh hasil penelitian dari model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang telah dipilih untuk dipakai dalam analisis persentase. Sepuluh penelitian menemukan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis masalah, atau pembelajaran berbasis masalah, dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sebesar 43,5 persen dan setinggi 96,1 persen, dengan peningkatan serendah 5% dan setinggi 96,1%. Hasil siswa sebelum studi tindakan kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah telah berkembang menjadi 79,09 setelah penelitian tindakan kelas.

Abstract

Biology learning at the senior high school level often involves complex material that requires not only deep understanding but also high motivation. Observations at SMAN 3 Panyabungan revealed that students demonstrated low levels of critical thinking and interest in learning, as the teaching approach primarily relied on textbooks and worksheets without incorporating engaging or contextual media. To address this issue, a Biology Learning Module based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) was developed, integrating the local wisdom of Lubuk Larangan. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing the ADDIE model, which comprises analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects were Grade X Phase E students of SMAN 3 Panyabungan in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected using validity questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, motivation questionnaires, and test instruments. The developed module achieved a validity score of 95.6% (very valid) and a practicality score of 4.0 (very practical). In terms of effectiveness, the module significantly improved students’ critical thinking skills and increased their learning interest, with an average percentage of 73.2% (classified as good). The Biology Learning Module, based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and integrated with Lubuk Larangan local wisdom, is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ motivation, learning interest, and argumentation skills, particularly in ecosystem-related topics.
