Facing industrial revolution 4.0 requires university students to provide themselves with a skill that they can use to compete with machines or computers. One of the skills is negotiation which involves mastering language, especially English as a means of international communication. However, learning English as a foreign language is not as easy as it seems. The students need to use a proper learning media which match their characteristics as digital native and motivate them in learning English such as multimedia. By using multimedia, the students will not only learn about language but also the skill about how to use the media or a computer to come up with industrial revolution 4.0. Thus, the researchers who are English lecturers aimed to encourage students in Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia (UTI) to use more web-based medium as a medium in learning English in a class, exclusively Powtoon. This research used a qualitative method since it disclosed how UTI students use Powtoon in a class and what their opinion toward Powtoon for learning English. During the research, the students used Powtoon in a class as a presentation medium for a half-semester because after mid-test they were divided into 13 groups to present the topics given by the lecturer. For each meeting, there were 2-3 groups presentation. At the end of the semester, the students were given questionnaire related to multimedia usage and responded that they felt motivated in learning English by using technology especially Powtoon. As a result, using a web-based medium in learning English can increase not only student’s ability to language but also technology.

Technology-based online learning platforms have supported and helped Indonesian students to succeed the online learning education amid the novel coronavirus. They are allowed to access learning materials, learning activities, and learning practice for free. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the students’ paradigms on how effective is online learning platforms for their learning process. A qualitative method in form of a case study design was applied to this present study which had a hundred and eighty-five undergraduate students as the subjects. A questionnaire consisting of twenty-five statements was distributed to them through Google Forms. A follow-up interview via WhatsApp video calls was also conducted with the forty students who were chosen randomly to strengthen the findings. The results of this study show that most students agreed that the online learning platform might provide some beneficial effects for them. They mentioned that online activities through this platform were easily followed and challenge them to strive for keeping their balance motivation and interest to accomplish the online learning process. They were comfortable communicating and interacting with classmates and lecturers electronically. Besides, they might also be able to manage their study time and self-disciplined. In the 21st century era, technology has influenced on many aspects of life includes education. Thus, lecturers are demanded to apply it in teaching and learning process because it can help lecturers deliver the material in attractive ways to trigger the students’ enthusiasm. There were still fewer technology usage in teaching and learning in speaking class as the researchers did a preliminary study (questionnaire) in Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). The preliminary study showed that 63% students said their lecturer never uses multimedia-based medium in teaching speaking, yet 89% students thought the usage in classroom was important. Answering the students’ need, the researchers want to use a multimedia-based medium, Ethnic Snake Game, in speaking class for Electrical Engineering students in UMM. Thus, this research belongs to descriptive research. DEVELOPING BILINGUAL WEB-BASED SCHOOL INFORMATION SYSTEM AT SMA MUHAMMADIYAH GADING REJO. This study aimed at developing a bilingual web-based school information system as a medium to promote and deliver school information to students, parents and community. This system is equipped with school profile information, school facilities, school achievement and documentation that can provide an overview of the school. As a result, parents can select the best school for their children in accordance with their talents and interests. The research method used is a research and development through preliminary research, design and realization. The system is developed by using PHP language and MySQL. All components of the application, which include the user interface, processing scripts and database reside on the server. Proses pembelajaran di era revolusi industri 4.0 harus bisa beradaptasi pada kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (IPTEK) dikarenakan pendidik dan peserta didik harus bisa menjadi digital native. Institusi pendidikan dari tingkat taman kanak-kanak hingga universitas kini sudah banyak yang menerapkan pembelajaran dalam jaringan atau lebih dikenal sebagai E-Learning. E-Learning merupakan metode pembelajaran yang menggunakan aplikasi atau teknologi informasi, yang mana teknologi utamanya adalah teknologi komputer, multimedia, dan teknologi komunikasi modern lainnya. Berdasarkan kebutuhan tersebut maka PkM penerapan aplikasi E-Learning pada MAN 1 Pesawaran sangat penting untuk dilaksanakan, karena sekolah tersebut belum memanfaatkan teknologi komputer secara maksimal, terlebih dimasa pandemi covid 19 ini yang mengharuskan guru dan siswa melakukan proses belajar mengajar dirumah menggunakan media aplikasi Whatsapp. Proses belajar mengajar menggunakan aplikasi Whatsapp yang dilakukan oleh guru dan siswa menyebabkan Kepala Sekolah tidak dapat mengontrol kesesuaian materi yang diberikan dengan kurikulum yang sudah ditentukan oleh pemerintah, selain itu menyulitkan guru dalam mengontrol kehadiran dan mengevaluasi nilai tugas siswa. Aplikasi E-Learning pada Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dibangun menggunakan perangkat lunak Modular Object Oriented Dinamic Learning Environment (Moodle). Moodle adalah perangkat lunak berbasis Web yang memberikan layanan pembelajaran online. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner yang diisi oleh 45 guru dan 30 siswa, dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi E-Learning ini membantu guru dan siswa dalam melaksanakan proses belajar mengajar di MAN 1 Pesawaran.

Covid-19 yang mewabah dewasa ini membuat pemangku kebijakan mengeluarkan beberapa peraturan, khususnya dalam dunia pendidikan, untuk mengubah proses belajar mengajar menjadi dalam jaringan (daring) yang pada awalnya dilaksanakan secara tatap muka. Hal ini juga membuat guru-guru harus menggunakan media atau teknologi atau aplikasi untuk menunjang kegiatan daring tersebut. Selanjutnya, penggunaan ini tidaklah mudah dan menimbulkan hal pro dan kontra sehingga guru-guru hendaknya juga dapat melakukan penelitian seperti penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dan penelitian kualitatif. Kedua penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi proses belajar mengajar yang dilakukan di kelas dan meningkatkannya sehingga pembelajaran daring dapat dilaksanakan dengan baik. Metode pengabdian ini menggunakan ceramah untuk menyampaikan materi penelitain keada guru-guru MAN 1 Pesawaran, Lampung Selatan. Selain ceramah, tim pengabdian juga memberikan angket pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur rata-rata pemahaman guru-guru sebelum dan sesudah dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian. Angket tersebut diukur menggunakan Likert Scale dari rentang 1-4 (Sangat Tidak Setuju-Sangat Setuju) dan didapat peningkatan hasil pemahaman dengan nilai rata-rata dari 22, 76 menjadi 38,09. Pada akhirnya, dengan adanya peningkatan pemahaman tersebut, guru-guru dapat melakukan PTK dan kualitatif dikelas dimana kedua penelitian tersebut sangat aplikatif, dapat dilaksanakan dikelas, dan bisa menjadikan bahan evaluasi khususnya selama proses pembelajaran daring.

ABSTRACT Social media is a tool used by people for communicating to each other in this millennial era. One of them is Instagram. In this pandemic era, people have changed their ways of life and communication that used more online activities. It includes education aspect which becomes online as an instruction of Ministry of Education. Thus, the role of social media is also very important in the online learning. Instagram can be one of means of teaching and learning process. It can help a learning process to build the interaction between teacher and students. So, this research was conducted to see how the implementation of Instagram on students’ writing ability and how to maintain the interactions in online learning. The qualitative method was applied to this study because the data were collected from questionnaire that were distributed through Google Form. The subject were senior high school students. To sum up, the result showed that the students’ writing ability was improved. Most of the students participated well in Instagram. Then, through Instagram, most students interacted in learning process until the end of class. Pandemic Covid-19 brings impactful aspects for several sectors, especially in the education sector. The teaching and learning process has shifted to online learning. It quite challenges the teachers as well as the students to fully support the success of the online classes.Teachers are required to be more creative in delivering the learning materials that will be given to their students. Meanwhile, students are encouraged to be autonomous learners. This paper aims to investigate the students’ perceptions toward the implementation of the ZOOM application to support the online learning process and explore how this application gives a new shape in the educational industry. The qualitative approach was chosen for this study. The data were obtained from questionnaires and interviews. Based on the findings, there are some perceptions about the implementation of ZOOM to support online learning. The result showed that most students thought implementation of e-learning should be improved continuously. Teachers is not only teaching or delivering materials in a class but also being a professional in all aspects of teaching. Teachers cannot ignore their students’ understanding or characteristics in every teaching and learning activity. Moreover, a teacher is considered as a professional job in Indonesia. Thus, they also get additional payment for being a professional as long as they have got a certificate of professionalism. As sophomore students of English Literature in Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia are having some pedagogical subjects which give them a choice to be an English teacher in the future, they take Teaching Material Design (TMD) in their fourth semester. The subject covers how to design a teaching set, prepare a material and media, and learning evaluation. Unfortunately, 86% students thought in preparing teaching media needed more time to prepare and a specific knowledge, especially which is interesting and takes less time in making. So, the researchers give an alternatives medium that has a template theme and interesting, slidesgo. It has many advantages, so they can use it in teaching and suit the theme with the material they are going to teach. Online learning activities are implemented simultaneously in Indonesia due to the spread of the coronavirus, Coronavirus disease or covid-19 is spared very fast, speeding to almost all countries. With the implementation of online learning, this research discusses English learning activities using the Whatsapp application as a medium. This study uses a qualitative method to collect data through interviews with various students participating in e-learning. According to the interview results, students are satisfied with e-learning because teachers are more creative in dealing with several media. These tools will particularly motivate students to learn English. Using the Whatsapp Application allows students to freely consult the materials provided by the teacher, discuss with other students, watch videos or view various documents related to the materials. although there are some obstacles in using the internet, such as the connection is not good enough. Students still enjoy E-learning because they use methods that are not boring.
