Abstract

Palm sugar is a processed product from palm trees (nira) which is cultivated by many craftsmen, especially UMKM craftsmen. Activity of UMKM is an effort to increase income for palm sugar craftsmen. However, there are still obstacles in its development, namely the difficulty of obtaining raw materials in the form of nira because it is related to tradition and the low selling price of palm sugar. This low price results in the craftsmen's income being low. Generally, craftsmen never take into account production costs in detail, so that the income they earn cannot be calculated with certainty. The aim of this research is to calculate the costs and income of palm sugar craftsmen, as well as the factors that influence craftsmen to run a palm sugar business. The research method used is a case study in Ciranggem Village, Jatigede District, Sumedang Regency by taking 10 palm sugar craftsmen with census. The research results show that for one palm sugar production process, the average cost incurred is Rp. 164,000 and produces 10 kg of palm sugar. The selling price for palm sugar is Rp. 20,000/kg, so the income earned is Rp. 36,000/one production process. The R/C for palm sugar is 1.22, meaning that the palm sugar business is worth pursuing. The factors that most influence craftsmen to cultivate palm sugar are to increase family income.

Abstract

Potatoes or Solanum tuberosum L is one type of vegetable that is prioritized for development. The demand for potatoes also continues to increase from year to year. However, the dynamics of procurement of seed potato varieties are in fact only slightly adopted because they do not consider farmers' preferences and perceptions. This study aims to measure farmers' preferences for industrial seed potatoes in Garut Regency. This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach involving 100 respondents using conjoint analysis. The research locations were in two sub-districts in Garut Regency. The results of the study show that farmers' preferences for industrial potato seeds in Garut Regency lead to the subattribute of seeds free of plant disrupting organisms. Thus, these subattributes have the greatest influence on farmers' preferences in choosing industrial potato seeds. The need for assistance and empowerment of farmers from related parties in order to ensure the availability and affordability of certified superior potato seeds on the market.

Abstract

Satisfaction is a product that is preferred to fulfill its desires. Potatoes are horticultural crops that have high carbohydrate content, adaptive business segments, clear markets, non-perishability, longer shelf life, and high economic value. Farmer satisfaction in assessing various attributes of seed potatoes is assessed from the fulfillment of expectations or expectations that are met, good performance, and perceived benefits. The purpose of this study is to measure farmers' satisfaction with industrial seed potatoes in Garut Regency. This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive analysis approach involving 100 respondents using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) analysis tools. The research was conducted in two districts in Garut Regency. The results of the study show that the level of satisfaction of potato farmers is at a satisfied level, where the attributes of industrial potato seeds included in Quadrant I are pest-free potato seeds and ease of obtaining them, seed morphology that has resistance to pests, seed production calculated from productivity and the number of tubers, market convenience, tuber selling prices, and services in assisting the production process. While the attributes of industrial potato seeds included in Quadrant II are price and quality assurance of distributed seeds. Then, located in Quadrant III are the purchase price of seeds and the timeliness of delivery. The need for both farmers and the government to intensify the use of certified superior potato seeds in order to produce potato production and productivity in accordance with market demand.

Abstract

Pasirwangi District is one of the areas with the highest contribution to potato production in Garut Regency which is faced with the problem of limited superior seeds which has caused a decline in potato production data. This will not only impact the level of potato production in Pasirwangi District, but will also affect the villages within it, including Sarimukti Village. Because Sarimukti Village is part of Pasirwangi District, it is likely that it will experience a similar impact. The potato varieties planted in Sarimukti Village are quite diverse, with three main varieties, namely Granola Kembang, Granola Lembang, and Dayang Sumbi. The objectives of this research are: (1) Analyzing the characteristics of vegetable potato farmers in Sarimukti Village, Pasirwangi District, Garut Regency, (2) Analyzing farmers' attitudes towards vegetable potato seeds of the Granola Kembang, Granola Lembang, and Dayang Sumbi varieties, and (3) Analyzing the attributes what needs to be paid attention to and improved in each potato seed of the Granola Kembang, Granola Lembang and Dayang Sumbi varieties. This research uses a descriptive analysis method, analysis of the Fishbein Multiattribute attitude model to determine the characteristics of farmers and farmers' attitudes towards potato seeds of the Granola Kembang, Granola Lembang and Dayang Sumbi varieties.

Abstract

Organic coffee farming has a higher selling price than non-organic coffee, organic coffee farm business is a source of employment and income for farmers. Coffee planting in forest areas is different from coffee planting in farmers' gardens, because coffee planters in the forest are planted in between forest plants, the number of coffee plants planted in the forest becomes smaller in number (not optimal). The purpose of the research is to examine the characteristics of farmers and their businesses and to analyze the effect of the land area on organic coffee production in the Girisenang forest farmer group (Kelompok tani hutan/KTH).  The research method used is a case study, the data used consists of primary and secondary data, primary data obtained from sample farmers by census.  The analysis used is descriptive analysis and econometric analysis, namely linear regression equations.  The results showed: (1) Organic coffee farmers in (KTH) Girisenang are mainly farmers, with low education, productive age.  The average area of forest land cultivated is 1 hectare, the average number of plants is 1272 trees, fertilizing oranically, maintaining their gardens according to recommendations, harvesting coffee in the form of cerry, and (2) Land area has no significant effect on production, because the number of coffee plants in the forest land farming area are not optimal.

Abstract

This study aims to determine lifestyle ofNoah's Barn’s consumer, the process of consumer purchase decision, and to find out how much influence of lifestyle on consumer decisions in Noah's Barn. The type of study used in this study is quantitative by survey method. The population used in this study is all consumers who visited Noah's Barnand 100 respondents selected usingsystematic random sampling.The analysis technique used is simple linear regression. The results of the study showed that lifestyle variables have positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions in Noah's Barn’s consumer. Lifestyle variable is able to explain the variance of purchasing decision equal to 32,1% and the residue equal to 67,9% is influenced by other variables was not examined in this study.

Abstract

The increasing awareness of healthy lifestyle among the public has made consumers more selective in choosing their food, particularly vegetables. Aquaponic vegetable products, which are free from pesticides, have emerged as an alternative for health-conscious consumers. This study aimed to identify the characteristics of consumers who purchase aquaponic vegetables based on product attributes at PT. Tanikota and to determine the ranking of attributes of aquaponic vegetables according to consumer preferences. The research method employed in this study was a case study, using a whole population of 70 aquaponic vegetable consumers at PT. Tanikota as the respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis of frequency distribution. The results of the study revealed that the characteristics of consumers who buy aquaponic vegetables at PT. Tanikota were generally women aged 26-35 years, holding an undergraduate degree, with 3 family dependents, employed in private sectors, and having an income range of 2,600,000-Rp 5,200,000/month. The attributes of aquaponic vegetables at PT. Tanikota were ranked based on consumer preferences, with the level of freshness of vegetables, variety of vegetables, color of vegetables, method of payment, method of purchase, physical form of vegetables, vegetable size, distance, vegetable packaging, and the price of vegetables, respectively. The lower rank of price attributes can be attributed to the lack of aquaponic vegetable cultivation in the city of Bandung, which makes it difficult for consumers to compare the prices offered by PT. Tanikota with those offered by other companies.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the prospects and challenges for implementing smart villages using a case study of Genteng Village in West Java, Indonesia, according to the sustainable development perspective and the enabler factors of socio-economic factors, village’s technology, and environmental aspects. This research uses a qualitative approach to assess the potencies and challenges from social, economic, environmental, and infrastructure perspectives. This research conducts a field survey with in-depth interviews and observation in Genteng Village, Sukasari Sub-district, Sumedang Regency, West Java Province to tap the information needed. Interviews with stakeholders were conducted with informants representing the rural stakeholders consisted of village official government, village local champion/leader, and farmer group representatives. Researcher involvement in nearly two years in regular visits and observations before this research has enriched and validated the information obtained. This research found prospective local social capital components and economic potencies to develop using the smart village framework. Environment and infrastructure are relatively still the challenges to be overcome towards the smart village. This research concludes that Genteng Village is on the right track, though early-stage to develop as a smart village. External factors, mainly information and communication technology, will be one of the main driving factors for optimism in implementing a smart village in Genteng Village.

Abstract

Dampak lingkungan yang disebabkan oleh timbulan sampah plastik menyebabkan kekhawatiran serius. Usaha bakeri masih menggunakan plastik sebagai kemasan dari produk yang diusahakannya. timbulan sampah akibat dari kemasan plastik produk bakeri diproyeksikan mencapai ±2,27 ton per tahun. Penggunaan green packaging merupakan solusi dari permasalahan pencemaran lingkungan yang disebabkan oleh sampah plastik akibat dari kemasan. Peningkatan penggunaan green packaging dapat dicapai dengan diawali peningkatan minat. Diduga faktor sosio-demografis yaitu jenis kelamin, usia, pendidikan, pekerjaan, pendapatan, dan frekuensi pembelian produk dapat mempengaruhi minat konsumen. Responden terdiri dari 100 orang konsumen usaha bakeri di Kecamatan Indramayu melalui teknik pengambilan sampel systematic random sampling. Pengujian tingkat minat konsumen menggunakan skala likert dan analisis regresi logistik multinominal digunakan untuk pengujian hipotesis untuk melihat pengaruh dari masing-masing variabel terhadap variabel respon berupa kategorik yang bersifat dichotomus lebih dari dua. Hasil temuan yang diperoleh adalah tingkat minat konsumen dalam penggunaan green packaging termasuk pada kategori tinggi, Secara bersama-sama, paling tidak ada satu variabel jenis kelamin, usia, pendidikan, pekerjaan, pendapatan, dan frekuensi pembelian yang berpengaruh pada tingkat minat konsumen dalam penggunaan green packaging. Pengaruh variabel secara parsial, pada tingkat minat yang rendah variabel usia 45 sampai dengan 54 Tahun, dan frekuensi pembelian produk 2-3 hari sekali berpengaruh signifikan pada tingkat minat konsumen dalam penggunaan green packaging. Pada kategori minat sedang tidak ada variabel yang berpengaruh signifikan. Sedangkan pada kategori minat tinggi dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh variabel usia 25 sampai dengan 34 Tahun, Pendapatan Rp 4.800.001 sampai dengan Rp 7.200.000, dan frekuensi pembelian produk 2-3 kali sebulan. The environmental impact caused by the generation of plastic waste is a cause for serious concern. The bakery business still uses plastic as the packaging for the products it produces. waste generation as a result of plastic packaging for bakery products is projected to reach ±2.27 tons per year. The use of green packaging is a solution to the problem of environmental pollution caused by plastic waste resulting from packaging. Increasing the use of green packaging can be achieved by starting with increased interest. Allegedly the factors of gender, age, education, occupation, income, and the frequency of product purchases can affect consumer interest. Respondents consisted of 100 bakery business consumers in Indramayu Subdistrict through a systematic random sampling technique. Testing the level of consumer interest using a Likert scale and multinominal logistic regression analysis is used for testing the hypothesis to see the effect of each variable on the response variable in the form of a categorical dichotomous which is more than two. The findings obtained are that the level of consumer interest in the use of green packaging is included in the high category. Taken together, there is at least one variable: gender, age, education, employment, income, and purchase frequency that affect the level of consumer interest in using green. packaging. The effect of variables partially, at a low level of interest, is the variable age 45 to 54 years, and the frequency of product purchases once every 2-3 days has a significant effect on the level of consumer interest in using green packaging. In the medium interest category there are no variables that have a significant effect. Whereas in the high interest category it is significantly influenced by the age variable 25 to 34 years, income of IDR 4,800,001 to IDR 7,200,000, and the frequency of product purchases 2-3 times a month.

Abstract

Dampak lingkungan dari sampah plastik sangat besar. Toko bakeri masih menggunakan kemasan plastik. Kemasan plastik untuk produk bakeri diperkirakan menghasilkan ± 2,27 ton sampah setiap tahunnya. Oleh karena itu, kemasan ramah lingkungan harus ditingkatkan. Kemasan kertas dapat didaur ulang dengan lebih baik. Kesadaran dan pengetahuan lingkungan telah ditingkatkan untuk mendorong orang memilih kemasan ramah lingkungan, namun beberapa konsumen masih lebih memilih plastik untuk produk bakeri. Studi ini mengkaji bagaimana pengetahuan dan kesadaran lingkungan memengaruhi pilihan kemasan plastik dan kertas pelanggan toko bakeri. Pemilihan acak sistematis memilih 100 pelanggan perusahaan bakeri Kabupaten Indramayu. Pendekatan regresi logistik biner menguji hipotesis untuk menentukan bagaimana setiap variabel memengaruhi variabel respons dalam dua kategori dikotomis. Tidak ada pengaruh signifikan variabel independen terhadap variabel dependen. Pemilihan kemasan konsumen tidak dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan dan kesadaran lingkungan. Informasi lingkungan memiliki dampak yang kecil terhadap pilihan kemasan konsumen. Kesadaran lingkungan juga tidak memengaruhi pilihan kemasan konsumen. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman lingkungan tidak menjamin perilaku konsumen yang pro-lingkungan.
