Abstract

Reproductive health in adolescents needs more attention. This is in line with the increasing problem of reproductive health. Education about reproductive health among adolescents in the form of counseling or socialization is an effort to increase the level of knowledge and awareness. This socialization aims to increase the knowledge and insight of the students of SMA Negeri 1 Seram Barat regarding the importance of reproductive health and personal hygiene. This activity was carried out using counseling and discussion methods using power point and leaflet media. The evaluation was carried out from the pre-test and post-test questionnaires that had been filled out by the students. The results showed that the level of reproductive health knowledge in adolescent boys and girls increased after the socialization of reproductive health and the sons after the socialization of personal hygiene. However, the level of personal hygiene knowledge in adolescent girls has not changed. The importance of the role of parents to educate children is needed as well as support from health workers in order to be able to carry out health promotion related to reproductive health and personal hygiene.

Abstract

Country Tengah-Tengah is a coastal village characterized by a hilly highland topography, where the majority of the population are engaged in fishing as their primary livelihood. During times of abundant fish supply, all catches are typically sold in the market and are not retained for household consumption. However, when fish become scarce due to adverse weather conditions, the community tends to seek alternative protein sources such as tofu and tempeh as substitutes for fish, and some individuals even opt not to consume fish. There are also those who have a lesser preference for fish consumption. The aim of PKM is to provide education on fishery product processing as part of efforts to strengthen protein-based food security by introducing processed fish products. This is intended to enhance the community's understanding of the importance of fish consumption. The methods employed in this activity include lectures, discussions, and training sessions. Lectures are delivered in the form of power point presentations and leaflets, followed by question and answer sessions. The target audience comprises members of the PKK and housewives in County Tengah-Tengah, Central Maluku. Following the educational sessions, there was an increase in knowledge levels among the participants, transitioning from ignorance to awareness. Participants acknowledged their satisfaction with the wealth of information provided, covering topics such as the benefits of fish and its nutritional content, fish processing techniques, product diversification, preservation methods, quality control, surimi production, application of surimi in various fish products, and proper packaging techniques. It is expected that through this activity, the community will be able to produce surimi products according to their characteristics and be motivated to create diverse and high-quality processed fish products. This initiative aims to increase the added value of fish, address the scarcity of fish during certain seasons, and contribute to additional income generation for the residents of Country Tengah-Tengah.

Abstract

Agricultural and household waste management remains a major issue in rural areas, including Namasina Village, Kota Masohi District, Central Maluku Regency. A large amount of organic waste is disposed of without proper processing, causing environmental pollution, even though it has great potential to be converted into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) that is eco-friendly and economically valuable. This study aims to increase community knowledge about organic waste management, promote sustainable agricultural innovation, and reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers. The implementation method involves socialization activities and hands-on practice of making LOF using cow manure, brown sugar, EM4, and water, which are fermented for 7–14 days. The results show high enthusiasm among the community in participating in the training and understanding the benefits of LOF in improving soil fertility and reducing production costs. Furthermore, the activity continued with chili planting practices using the homemade organic fertilizer. This program demonstrates that the utilization of livestock and household waste can serve as an effective solution to support sustainable agriculture, increase environmental awareness, and empower the community toward self-sufficiency.

Abstract

Adolescence represents a transitional phase characterized by complex biological, psychological, and social changes, during which insufficient understanding of reproductive health can lead to risky behaviors such as premarital sexual activity, unintended pregnancy, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The purpose of the activity titled “Reproductive Health Knowledge Socialization among Adolescents at SMAN 37 Central Maluku in 2025” was to enhance adolescents’ knowledge and awareness regarding reproductive health. This community service program employed a cross-sectional design and involved 54 students from grades X to XII, selected purposively. Data were collected through online pre-tests and post-tests using Google Forms, and the results were analyzed with Microsoft Excel to evaluate changes in participants’ knowledge levels. The findings revealed a notable increase in the average knowledge score from 76% to 89.8%, with the most significant improvements observed in aspects related to reproductive hygiene and understanding of STI risks. The activity proved effective in improving adolescents’ reproductive health literacy and strengthening their awareness of responsible reproductive behavior. Therefore, face-to-face interactive socialization serves as a strategic approach to reinforce healthy understanding and behavior among adolescents in archipelagic regions. Moreover, it can be adopted as a model for developing sustainable health education programs in schools across Eastern Indonesia.
