Abstract

Water is the element of life that is essential for survival. Along with the rapid growth of the human being, the demand for water increases. Now this, many water sources are contaminated, clean one of the impacts that cause pollution is that there is content of Fe in the water. Fe is the secondary contaminants that become problems in the provision of clean water is especially groundwater. The content of Fe exceeds quality raw processing must be done first before used to clean water. This research aims to analyze Fe levels before and after filtration is done using ceramic membrane media with a thickness of 5 cm and 7 cm in well water.This research is experimental research, using design research True Experiment with form One Group Pretest-Posttest. The object of this research that is well water containing Fe levels with a total of 32 Research sample sample. Further data obtained were analyzed using analytical test in Paired-Samples T Test.The results showed that the ceramic membrane filter media thickness 5 cm and 7 cm is capable of lowering the average rate of 8.11 Fe mg/l be 5.9 mg/l and 3.6 mg/l. The results of statistical tests using Paired T-test Test earned the result that there is a difference Fe levels before and after treatment using ceramic membrane filter media with variations in the thickness of 5 cm and 7 cm.The conclusion of this research is the ceramic membrane thickness 7 cm has the difference decreased most in lowering levels of Fe on well water. It is recommended to increase the creativity in applying appropriate technology in filtration method. Keywords: water well, levels of Fe, ceramic membranes

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Dusun Surorowo merupakan daerah fokus penyakit Pes di Pasuruan yang masih perlu dilakukan pengawasan. Kepadatan pinjal dan tikus dapat berpengaruh terhadap penularan penyakit pes karena pinjal berperan sebagai vektor penyakit pes sedangkan tikus sebagai reservoir penyakit ini. Selain itu, masih adanya tersangka penyakit Pes di daerah tersebut perlu dilakukan upaya kewaspadaan dini seperti pengendalian populasi tikus, salah satunya yaitu dengan melakukan pemasangan perangkap. Faktor utama yang menentukan keberhasilan penangkapan tikus atau trap success yaitu jenis umpan yang digunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah agar mengetahui pengaruh dari berbagai jenis umpan terhadap angka keberhasilan penangkapan tikus dalam pengendalian pes.       Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimental research), dengan rancangan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Posttest Only Design karena peneliti mengukur pengaruh perlakuan atau (intervensi) pada kelompok eksperimen dan dalam penelitian tidak dilakukan pretest. Selain itu, dalam penelitian ini tidak ada kontrol. Penelitian dilakukan di Dusun Surorowo, Desa Kayukebek, Kecamatan Tutur, Kabupaten Pasuruan pada bulan Maret sampai Juli Tahun 2017.Hasil penelitian adalah umpan yang paling berpengaruh terhadap trap success adalah umpan jagung manis dimana terdapat 106 ekor tikus tertangkap dengan prosentase tikus yang tertangkap sebesar 10,9%. Trap success paling tinggi yaitu umpan jagung manis dengan nilai trap success rata – rata 16,67 % dalam rumah, 6,67 % di kebun, 9,6 % di hutan. Jenis tikus yang tertangkap yaitu Rattus tanezumi, Rattus exulans, Rattus tiomanicus, dan Hylomys suillus. Angka kepadatan pinjal atau indeks pinjal umum dalam rumah sebesar 3,16 sedangkan indeks pinjal khusus 2,69. Indeks pinjal umum di kebun sebesar 0,61 sedangkan indeks pinjal khusus 0,22. Indeks pinjal umum di hutan sebesar 1,13 sedangkan indeks pinjal khusus 0,4 dengan jenis pinjal yang teridentifikasi yaitu Xenopsylla cheopis dan Stivalius cognatus. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, disarankan umpan yang digunakan dalam penangkapan tikus adalah jagung manis. Kata Kunci : Umpan, Trap Success, Pes

Abstract

Kejadian hepatitis A merupakan hasil interaksi antara faktor agent, host, dan environment. Dari segi host ditunjukkan melalui perilaku cuci tangan pakai sabun (CTPS) dan perilaku pemanfaatan jamban. Perilaku CTPS di desa Terbis 64,5% dari target pencapaian 95% dan cakupan kepemilikan jamban 78,5% dengan catatan 21,5% sharing. Hasil observasi menunjukkan 2 dari 10 responden belum memiliki jamban. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan perilaku CTPS dan pemanfaatan jamban pada penderita hepatitis A di Desa Terbis Kecamatan Panggul Kabupaten Trenggalek tahun 2020.Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan melakukan observasi dan wawancara terkait dengan perilaku CTPS dan pemanfaatan jamban pada penderita hepatitis A. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Terbis Kecamatan Panggul Kabupaten Trenggalek dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.Hasil penelitian menggambarkan perilaku CTPS dalam kategori cukup (60,8%), dengan aspek pengetahuan kategori cukup (56,9%), sikap kategori cukup (58,8%) dan tindakan kategori kurang (58,8%). Hasil penelitian menggambarkan perilaku pemanfaatan jamban dalam kategori cukup (62,7%), dengan aspek pengetahuan kategori cukup (76,5%), sikap kategori cukup (54,9%) dan tindakan kategori kurang (51%).Disimpulkan aspek pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan yang telah diberikan bobot dapat menggambarkan perilaku CTPS dalam kategori cukup dan perilaku pemanfaatan jamban dalam kategori cukup. Disarankan bagi masyarakat diperlukan adanya kesadaran akan pentingnya CTPS dan pemanfaatan jamban dalam memutus mata rantai penularan hepatitis A.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne way to process water is employing adsorption techniques by using activated carbon to removeorganic pollutants. Cellulose and lignin content in the sugarbcane waste can be converted into activated carbonadsorption that plays important role during the process. This study aims at analyzing the thickness effectivenessof sugarcane waste activated carbon as adsorbent in improving the quality of ground water.This research is a pre-experimental research which employs one group pretest -posttest design. Datacollection is done by laboratory tests that followed by statistical analysis using ANOVA test.The parameters being analyzed include color, odor, taste, TDS, turbidity, pH, Fe, Mn and OrganicSubstance. Those Parameters were analyzed, compared to Permenkes No. 416 / Menkes / Per / IX / 1990 aboutTerms and Water Quality Monitoring. Comparative analysis indicates that the color, smell, taste, TDS, turbidity,pH, Fe, Mn and organic substance meets the standards chronologically TCU 11.58, 389.25 mg / L, 1.15 NTU , 7,0.131 mg / L, 0.013 mg / L, 0,729 mg / L. Statistical test analysis result shows that variations in the thickness ofsugarcanewaste activated carbon affect the analyzed parameters.It can be concluded that the quality of ground water after processing increase to meet the standards ofPermenkes No. 416 / Menkes / Per / IX / 1990 about Terms and Water Quality Monitoring, with 70 cm thickeffectiveness. Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis is a direct infectious disease caused by TB bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis). In the Krian Health Center Work Area, the number of pulmonary TB patients has increased every year. Based on the profile of the Krian Health Center, Tuberculosis data for the last 3 years in 2017 - 2019 has increased with a percentage of 15% - 56.5% of cases. The purpose of the study was to analyze the relationship between the physical condition of the house and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) in the working area of the Krian Health Center in 2021.This type of research is analytic with a case control approach. Collecting data using observation sheets. The research variable is the physical condition of the house including the types of walls, floors, lighting, humidity, ventilation, temperature and density of residential dwellings with a total sample of 47 patients and 47 non-patients using purposive sampling method. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test to determine the relationship.The value of the test results from the chi square of X2 statistical test results obtained p value = 0.037, then Ha is rejected. It can be concluded that the respondent's house category is related to the incidence of pulmonary TB disease but the odd ratio calculation is obtained a value of 2,424 (CI: 1,047 – 5,611), so respondents who have a house category are quite at risk of pulmonary TB disease 2,424 times greater than respondents with a house category that is good.It is recommended for health workers to increase their role as motivators and counselors for the community in order to increase knowledge about the importance of the physical condition of houses that meet the requirements for health by scheduling periodic counseling about healthy homes.

Abstract

Coagulation is one of the wastewater treatment processes. Aluminum sulfate is usually used as a chemical coagulant. On the other way, the use of alum can cause a new problem that was the inorganic residues produced are carcinogenic and can harm the environment and human health. Then people try to use natural materials such as chitosan as the coagulant. Chitosan can be produced from the skin of marine animals such as green mussels. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of natural coagulant green mussel shells. The research method was an experimental study by testing the effectiveness of green mussel shells as a natural coagulant with one group post design. This research used small dose of chitosan that is 0,15 g/l until 0,4 g/l to know which one is the most effective to reduce turbidity and suspended solid. The sample in this study was domestic wastewater. The parameters were total suspended solids (TSS) and turbidity. The data were analyzed by the ANOVA test. The result showed that both TSS and turbidity were decreased by about 100% (14 mg/l to 0,65 mg/l) for optimum decreasing of TSS parameter and 73% (2.38 NTU to 0 NTU) for turbidity parameters. The optimal dose of natural coagulant green mussel shells for domestic wastewater was 0,4 g/l. The ANOVA test showed that there was an effect of green mussel shells coagulant dose on TSS and turbidity level (p-value = 0,000). The potential of using these green mussel shells as a coagulant is indeed very high. However, it takes a combination with other natural ingredients to make an effective and safe coagulant.

Abstract

One of the risk factors for the transmission of ARI is the condition of home sanitation that does not meet health requirements. Based on data from the Modopuro Health Center in 2020 in Modopuro village, 301 people with ARI were found and the number of healthy homes that did not meet the requirements was 46%. The results of a preliminary study of 15 houses found as many as 60% of the houses with sanitation conditions that did not meet the requirements. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between home sanitation conditions with the incidence of ARI. This type of research is descriptive analytic with aapproach case control. The variables used in this study are temperature, humidity, occupancy density, ventilation, lighting, floors, and walls. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling with a total sample of 152 samples with a control ratio of 1:1. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi Square test. The results of this study found variables that did not meet health requirements, namely temperature 92.1%, humidity 53.9%, occupancy density 54.6%, ventilation 49.3%, lighting 45.4%, floor 3.3%, walls 26.3% and house sanitation 55.3%. Variables of air humidity (p = 0.023), occupancy density (p = 0.000), ventilation (p = 0.001), lighting (p = 0.006), floor (p = 0.023), walls (p = 0.000), and house sanitation (p = 0.000) associated with the incidence of ARI. Conclusions based on the results of the study there is a relationship between home sanitation and ARI. The community is advised to maintain the sanitary conditions of the house, such as opening windows in the morning and cleaning the house regularly.

Abstract

There were 111 cases of dengue fever in Surabaya in 2021 with the highest cases being at the Medokan Ayu Health Center with 13 cases. Based on data from the Medokan Ayu Health Center, there were 25 cases of dengue fever in 2021, and this increased to 28 cases from January to May 2022. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the implementation of the dengue vector control program at the Medokan Ayu Health Center, Surabaya City in 2022. The design of this research is descriptive and was conducted in April-July 2022. The total sample used was 22 people who had suffered from DHF in the working area of ​​the Medokan Ayu Public Health Center. The results of the interviews that have been conducted obtained 13 people with sufficient criteria and 9 people with good standart, those can be seen the implementation of the DHF vector control program at the Medokan Ayu Health Center is efficient. Of the 9 vector control activity variables, the Medokan Ayu Health Center only carried out 7 DHF vector control activities. The conclusion from the research that has been conduct is that the implementation of the dengue vector control program at the Medokan Ayu Health Center has been efficient. However, several variables scored less than the respondents, including counseling activities, eradicating mosquito nests, and fogging. Suggestions for Medokan Ayu Health Center and society to help each other in implementing the dengue vector control program.

Abstract

Passing trains causes vibration and noise, the Ministry of the environment monitors noise and vibration of trains getting results 100% exceeding the quality standards carried out in four big cities. This study aimed to determine the analysis of train vibration and noise on subjective complaints of residents of Bringinbendo Village. This type of research used descriptive research with a cross sectional approach. The population used was housewives who were in the Bringinbendo Village area, especially in RW 04 (RT 07, RT 09) and RW 07 (RT 10, RT 12) Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency as many as 132. The sample used was 99 housewives who taken by simple random sampling method. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to describe the data. The vibration measurement at point 1 is 2.1 Hz and at point 2 is 1 Hz, both points were still below the standard vibration level, while the noise measurement at point 1 is 75.95 dB(A) and at point 2 is 70.56 dB( A) the value exceeds the specified noise quality standard. Subjective complaints obtained from interviews were 63.6% had complaints and 36.4% had no complaints. The vibration and noise of the train can caused residents to experience subjective complaints. People should exercise control in their homes to reduce the noise of the train. Keywords: train, vibration, noise
