Abstract

The students' ability to solve mathematical problems are affected directly or indirectly by their pattern of problem solving when they were attending primary and secondary schools. The result of observation shows that there are students who can not answer proving problem and take no action at all, thoughit is only at the step of understanding the problem. NEA is a frame work with simple diagnostic procedures, which include (1) decoding, (2) comprehension, (3) transformation, (4) process skills, and (5) encoding. Newman’s developed diagnostic method is used to identify the error categories of descriptive test answer. Therefore, the descriptive types of students’ error in proving problem solving in Geometry 1 subject based on Newman’s error Analysis (NEA), and what are the causes for the student’s mistakes in solving those proving problem, especially in Geometry1 subject is interesting to be discussed in this article.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal peluang  yang diperoleh dari siswa kelas XI MAN 1 Bojonegoro. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif.  Subjek penelitian ini adalah 2 siswa kelas XI MAN 1 Bojonegoro. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan wawancara. Hasil data menunjukan bahwa kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam mengerjakan soal materi peluang ialah: (1) kesalahan yang berhubungan dengan konsep kombinasi diantaranya kesalahan dalam menggunakan dan menerapkan rumus, penyebabnya adalah siswa tidak teliti dan tidak dapat memahami maksud soal, (2) kesalahan dalam menentukan nilai kombinasi, penyebabnya adalah karena siswa tidak paham dan lupa konsep kombinasi karena kemiripan konsep permutasi dan kombinasi, (3) kesalahan dalam menghitung. Guru perlu meningkatkan upayanya dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai materi peluang.

Abstract

Pelevelan model mental merupakan salah satu cara untuk melihat sejauh mana pemahaman siswa yang didasarkan pada tingkatan masing-masing level. Menurut pendapat para ahli tidak dapat dikesampingkan bahwa level pemahaman masing-masing siswa tentunya berbeda-beda, mulai dari tingkatan rendah, menengah, hingga tingkat atas dan pelevelan pemahaman siswa itu sendiri dapat diukur dengan berbagai hal, salah satunya adalah model mental. Model mental bisa digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman siswa dan menunjukkan cara berpikir siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan enam level model mental siswa kelas VIII dalam memahami konsep persamaan garis lurus. Metode yang digunakan peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII dengan jumlah 121 siswa, subjek tersebut diambil agar terpenuhi masing-masing level model mental. Kemudian diambil 2 siswa untuk diwawancarai sebagai subjek terpilih yang menjadi perwakilan masing-masing level model mental. Sehingga diperoleh 12 siswa sebagai subjek wawancara. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini meliputi soal tes dan pedoman wawancara yang sebelumnya divallidasi. Prosedur pengumpulan data yaitu dengan observasi, tes, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Peneliti menganalisis data dengan dua cara, yaitu triangulasi sumber data dan triangulasi metode untuk memastikan kevalidan data. Sehingga diperoleh hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan deskripsi masing-masing level model mental siswa dalam memahami konsep persamaan garis lurus.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study was to describe teacher’s strategy in teaching mathematics on the topic of circle to intellectual disability students in SLB Muhammadiyah Cepu. The subject of this  study was classroom mathematics teacher and all students of eighth grade of SLB Muhammadiyah Cepu. The data of this study was teacher’s strategy in teaching mathematics on the topic of circle taken from the result of recording transcription of teaching and learning process through two observations. The data validity technique used in this study was member check, a process of data checking taken by the researcher from the subject of the study to examine the possibilities of different assumptions. The result reveal that in opening activity (pre-activity) and closing activity (post-activity), teacher implemented movement and rhythm strategy by asking the students to sing circle song. While in the main activity, teacher’s strategy in teaching mathematics on the topic of circle was dealing with conceptual knowledge by implementing  Bruner’s learning theory at enactive stage, it is by introducing the concept of the form of circle with some learning media to students. Then, the teacher’s strategy in teaching mathematics on the topic of circle which deals with procedural knowledge was by implementating guided discovery model, it is by guiding the students to do activity to count the circle’s  circumference by using thread. But, because of the limitation of the mentally handicapped students’ intellectuality, the guided discovery model which was implemented by the teacher was firstly by giving some examples to the students, then asking the students to practice to find the circle’s circumference from the length of the thread by the students themselves.Keywords: teacher’s strategy, conceptual knowledge, procedural knowledge, mathematics teaching learning, student with intellectual disability.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the characteristics of the mental model of elementary school students in understanding the concept of integers. The subjects in this study were selected based on outlier criteria or unique responses to a series of tests given to 30 students of the third grade of elementary school. As a result, two students were chosen as research subjects. The research data were collected through observation and interviews. Observation made by the researchers were direct observations, in which the researchers see and observe the activities of students in doing the test. In addition, the researchers also conducted interviews with research subjects. The results of the students' works were reviewed, and then interviews were conducted to clarify the students' answers. The results showed that the characteristics of elementary school students in understanding integers did not always move from the synthetic stage to the formal stage, but there were lower grade students who were able to solve contextual problems related to integers. The process of forming students' formal mental models can be seen when they solve the temperature rise problem by counting fingers and comparing them with the zero symmetry position between negative and positive integers.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the gaps among definitions, installations, processes, and products with standard operational criteria in the independent student exchange cooperation program. The study used Povus' discrepancy model. The subjects of this study involved lecturers and students from Universitas PGRI Madiun, IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo, Muhammadiyah University of Kotabumi, STKIP PGRI Bangkalan, and STKIP Taman Siswa Bima. The data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, observation, and document analysis. Then, they were analyzed using descriptive qualitative, which was then compared with standard criteria. The results show that the student exchange program focused on course exchange at IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, Universitas PGRI Madiun, Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo, STKIP PGRI Bangkalan, and STKIP Taman Siswa Bima, i.e., design, installation, process, and products is following the guidelines for implementing the independent student exchange cooperation program. It was found that there was a gap in the program implementation process, but the program objectives had been achieved. Students who participated in the program were facilitated in developing science and technology, Wawasan Kebangsaan (national vision), nationalism, and the understanding of diversity, plurality, and tolerance from other universities. It was revealed that 85% of the students got an A predicate, and the rest got B in courses taken at other universities. Based on the implementation of double-smart, it is hoped that the independent student exchange cooperation program, which is focused on course exchange, can be continued with improvements.

Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk menedeskripsikan analisis pengambilan keputusan heuristik siswa dalam pemecahan masalah aljabar ditinjau dari kecemasan matematika pada siswa.  Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTS An-Nur Galuk pada siswa kelas VII. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode sampel bertujuan (Purposive Sample) yaitu pengambilan sampel dengan melihat hasil tes tulis analisis level pemahaman dengan subyek KMST1, KMST2, KMT1, KMST2, KMR1, KMR2, KMSR1, dan KMSR2. Analisis data menggunkan metode observasi, metode tes, metode wawancara, dan metode dokumentasi, serta uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber data (Data Triangulation) dan triangulasi metodologis (Methodological Triangulation). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh: (1) Subjek dengan tingkat kecemasan matematika sangat tinggi tidak mampu memenuhi seluruh kriteria dari masing-masing indikator pengambilan keputusan heuristik siswa. (2) Subjek dengan tingkat kecemasan matematika tinggi hanya mampu memenuhi dua kriteria dari satu indikator pengambilan keputusan heuristik siswa yaitu availability. (3) Subjek dengan tingkat kecemasan matematika rendah subjek mampu memenehui tiga indikator dari kemampuan pengambilan keputusan heuristik siswa yaitu availability, representas, dan anjustment. (4) Subjek dengan tingkat kecemasan matematika sangat rendah mampu memenuhi seluruh kriteria dari masing-masing indikator pengambilan keputusan heuristik siswa yaitu availability, representas, anjustment, dan anchouring.

Abstract

Program PKM literasi program asesmen nasional untuk memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran bagi guru dan calon guru di Bojongero dan sekitarnya dilakukan melalui metode pemberian pelatihan, bimbingan, dan pendampingan kepada peserta mengenai program asesmen nasional, asesmen kompetensi minimum dan pembuatan asesmen kompetensi minimum. Tujuan pelaksanaan PKM yaitu (1) untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai program asesmen nasional untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, (2) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam menyusun soal Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (3) peserta dapat memahami asesmen nasional secara menyeluruh termasuk AKM, survey karakter dan survey lingkungan belajar. Khalayak sasaran utama dalam kegiatan ini yaitu guru dan calon guru matematika di Bojonegoro dan sekitarnya yang berjumlah 75 guru dan calon guru. Wilayah lokasi pelatihan dan workshop di FPMIPA IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro sebagai tempat berkumpulnya narasumber. Hasil dalam kegiatan ini adalah (1) Mampu memberikan dampak terhadap peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru mengenai tema PKM yaitu teori mengenai asesmen nasional dan (2) meningkatnya pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam pembuatan instrument Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum. Hasil lain yang diperoleh dari PKM ini yaitu meningkatnya motivasi peserta dalam penyusunan instrumen AKM yang berkualitas dan tingginya antusiasme peserta dalam menyebarluaskan atau mendiseminasikan hasil-hasil program PKM terutama materi asesmen kompetensi minimum. Luaran/output kegiatan PKM ini yaitu (1) meningkatnya pengetahuan peserta mengenai materi-materi asesmen nasional dan pembuatan instrument asesmen kompetensi minimum, (2) artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan pada seminar nasional atau jurnal nasional, dan (3) publikasi pelaksanaan PKM pada media online.

Abstract

Abstract           The PKM program for writing scientific articles to improve the careers of mathematics teachers in Bojonegoro was carried out through the method of providing training, guidance, and mentoring to participants on how to write articles on the results of classroom action research that was carried out daily in their classrooms to make scientific articles that can be published in journals. The main target audience in this activity were mathematics teachers under the auspices of the Bojonegoro Ministry of Religion, totaling 30 teachers. The area where the training and workshop location was at MAN 2 Bojonegoro is a gathering place for mathematics teachers in the MGMP organization. The results in the PKM program activities were (1) increased knowledge of scientific articles, (2) increased ability and skills of participants in writing scientific articles from the results of classroom action research and (3) participants can integrate scientific writing in the learning process. The outputs of this PKM activity were (1) increasing participants' knowledge of the activity materials, (2) scientific articles published in national seminars or national journals, and (3) publication of PKM implementation on online media.     Abstrak Program PKM penulisan artikel ilmiah untuk peningkatan karir guru matematika di Bojonegoro dilakukan melalui metode pemberian pelatihan, bimbingan, dan pendampingan kepada peserta mengenai bagaimana cara menulis artikel hasil penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan sehari-hari dalam kelasnya untuk dibuat suatu artikel ilmiah yang dapat terbit di jurnal.. Khalayak sasaran utama dalam kegiatan ini yaitu guru-guru matematika di bawah naungan Kemenag Bojonegoro yang berjumlah 30 guru. Wilayah lokasi pelatihan dan workshop di MAN 2 Bojonegoro sebagai tempat berkumpulnya para guru matematika dalam organisasi MGMP. Hasil dalam kegiatan program PKM yaitu (1) meningkatnya pengetahuan mengenai artikel ilmiah, (2) meningkatnya kemampuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam menulis artikel ilmiah dari hasil penelitian tindakan kelas dan (3) peserta dapat mengintergrasikan karya tulis ilmiah dalam proses pembelajaran. Luaran kegiatan PKM ini yaitu (1) meningkatnya pengetahuan peserta mengenai materi-materi kegiatan, (2) artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan pada seminar nasional atau jurnal nasional, dan (3) publikasi pelaksanaan PKM pada media online.

Abstract

Gamification is one strategy that can be applied to develop students' interest in learning mathematics. The aim of this training is to introduce gamification to elementary school teachers in learning mathematics, to introduce teaching modules (MA) to elementary teachers who have not yet implemented the independent curriculum, and to train teachers to be able to integrate elements of gamification into MA. This training was held at SD N Penanggungan, Malang City. The training was held on November 20, 2022. The training participants were twenty teachers at SD N Penanggungan. The training was carried out using discussion and question and answer techniques. After that, the presenters accompany the teacher to practice the theory learned by making MA integrated with gamification. The result of this training is that teachers can develop MA that is integrated with gamification. In addition, the teacher is also able to recognize the characteristics of gamification and MA stages that are in accordance with the gamification.
