Abstract

Abstrak. Preservice mathematics teachers need to develop their competence, especially professional competence. Professional competence is related to the ability of preservice teachers to use mathematical manipulatives. Mathematics manipulatives can show real mathematical objects so that mathematics learning becomes meaningful. Preservice mathematics teachers can also design and create manipulatives as needed. This research is qualitative descriptive research. This study describes the types and uses of mathematical manipulatives made by preservice mathematics teachers in the Pekalongan University Mathematics Education Study Program. The results showed that there were 10 mathematical manipulatives with various uses, including understanding mathematical concepts, solving math problems, and playing math games. This mathematical manipulative can be used for learning mathematics, so it is necessary to test the effectiveness of the mathematical manipulative. These trials could involve schools and mathematics teachers. Lecturers should also analyze the difficulties of preservice mathematics teachers when making mathematical manipulatives so that appropriate assistance can be given according to the type of difficulty. Teachers also need to design learning in mathematics learning media courses that are more interesting so that mathematical manipulative products can be utilized by mathematics teachers and students gain in-depth knowledge of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Our activity aims to assist 8th-grade students at SMP Plus Muhammadiyah Doro in learning Geometry using tangram teaching aids. This is related to the lack of enthusiasm some students feel during the learning process, especially in Geometry. The community service activity was carried out through planning, implementation, and evaluation stages, using lectures, discussions, experiments, and demonstrations. The instruments used include questionnaires given to students before and after the activity. The results of this activity show that: 1) almost all students contend that teachers now need tangrams to help in explaining teaching materials in Plane Geometry; 2) almost all students are interested in the tangrams, which is due to their ease of making and using; 3) almost all students contend that tangrams can help them to train their understanding of mathematical concepts, especially in plane figures; 4) most students believe that tangrams can enhance their motivation to learn.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explain the effectiveness of the CMP learning model on students' creative thinking abilities. This research is quantitative research with an experimental approach using a Posttest Only Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of 2 classes at SMA Negeri 1 Wiradesa, namely class X3 as the experimental class and class X5 as the control class. The data collection method used is the test method. The research results showed that there was a difference in the average creative thinking ability between the experimental class and the control class. students' creative thinking abilities because they exceed the previously determined KKM value. Therefore, the CMP learning model is effective for students' creative thinking abilities

Abstract

This research aims to determine the types of errors made by students when working on exponent problems. Apart from that, research also analyzes the factors that cause mistakes made by students. Errors in working on questions consist of reading errors, understanding errors, transformation errors, processing errors and errors in writing the final answer. This research uses descriptive qualitative data analysis. Research subjects were determined using purposive sampling techniques. The research results showed that students made errors in understanding, transformation errors, process errors and errors in writing the final answer. The factors that cause this are students being in a hurry to work on questions, students also being unable to continue the process of working on questions because students do not understand the material and students are not careful in working on questions

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate students' willingness to learn mathematics by measuring their ability to solve mathematical problems in flat-sided geometric material. Qualitative descriptive research is employed in this research approach. The subjects were SMP Islam YMI Wonopringgo class VIII E students in the even semester of the 2023–2024 school year. Six of the 33 pupils were chosen at random depending on their levels of learning motivation—high, medium, and low. Tests, questionnaires, and interviews were used in the data collecting process. By doing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, data were studied. Six students (18%) fell into the high motivation category, twenty students (61%) fell into the medium category, and seven students (21%) fell into the low category. Based on the degree of student learning motivation, Polya's indicators of problem-solving skills were used to build the analysis. According to the study's findings, students with high learning motivation can complete three indicators, those in the medium group can complete one, and students in the low category are not proficient in completing all of the indicators

Abstract

This research aims to develop bilingual getrans teaching aids that can be used to visualise the concept of geometry transformation. The urgency of this research lies in the effort to facilitate students' understanding of abstract concepts in geometric transformations where the development of getrans teaching aids allows students to learn actively, involving physical and visual, which is believed to improve understanding and retention of concepts. Utilizing the 4D model, the Research and Development (R&D) approach is applied. The four phases of the 4D development model are defined, designed, developed, and disseminated. The findings showed that students had trouble grasping the idea of geometric transformation at the define stage. At the design stage, preparation for the development of bilingual getrans teaching aids was carried out. At the development stage, getrans props were made as well as validation of video results by experts and limited trials to students. Then at the dissemination stage, the revised video results were disseminated based on expert advice. The conclusion of this research is that bilingual getrans teaching aids can be used for learning mathematics which students can better understand changes in position, rotation, reflection, or dilation of objects in geometry with better.

Abstract

The learning of mathematics generally undergoes a less effective and less appealing learning process, resulting in students’ perceived lack of mastery of the material. Consequently, students’ insufficient understanding of the concepts leads to a lack of folding back. In the process of understanding, it influences individual characteristics, where two characteristics are cognitive styles: field-dependent and field-independent. The researcher aims to understand how the folding back process occurs in students with field-dependent and field-independent cognitive styles when solving story problems. This research is a descriptive qualitative study, with 2 students selected from a total of 28 students in class VII-A as subjects. The selected subjects have high mathematical abilities and are classified into the categories of field-dependent and field-independent cognitive styles. Data collection involves comprehension tests, group embedded figure test (GEFT), and interviews. Data analysis consists of stages such as data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Each subject is interviewed to verify their process of solving the given problems. The results of the research conclude that students with the field-independent cognitive style category have a better understanding of the material, concepts, and problem-solving compared to students in the field-dependent category.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kreativitas memengaruhi kemampuan peserta didik di kelas X MAN 1 Kota Pekalongan untuk memecahkan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif berjenis ex post facto dengan sasaran populasi seluruh kelas X MAN 1 Kota Pekalongan Tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 33 peserta didik dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data kuantitatif dari penelitian berasal dari angket kreativitas yang berisi 20 butir pernyataan dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sebanyak 5 soal. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana dengan uji normalitas dan uji linearitas sebagai uji prasyaratnya. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh persamaan regresi dan koefisien determinasi sebesar atau . Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sebesar

Abstract

Abstract: Literacy and numeracy are two important skills that every individual must have, especially in the current digital era. However, SDN 02 Mayangan is classified as a school with low literacy and numeracy skills. This can be seen from students in high classes still not being able to complete multiplication operations, students' literacy levels are relatively low, and students feel bored in class learning. Appropriate learning media and integration of local wisdom in learning can help improve student literacy and numeracy. However, most teachers have not been able to create learning media that suits students' needs and is based on local wisdom. Thus, there is a need for training and assistance in creating local wisdom-based learning media for teachers. The method for implementing this community partnership program uses Service Learning (SL). The SL method consists of four steps, namely investigation, preparation, action, and reflection. With this community service activity, teachers can improve their abilities in compiling and applying digital media, snakes and ladders media, and storybooks based on local wisdom to optimize students' literacy and numeracy skills. In this activity, 82% of participants felt very satisfied with the material presented and 80% of participants felt very satisfied with the method used. Keyword: learning media; local wisdom; literacy; numeracy Abstrak: Literasi dan numerasi merupakan dua keterampilan penting yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap individu, terutama di era digital saat ini. Namun, SDN 02 Mayangan tergolong sekolah dengan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi yang rendah. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari siswa pada kelas tinggi masih belum bisa meyelesaikan operasi perkalian, tingkat literasi siswa tergolong rendah, dan siswa merasa jenuh dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Media pembelajaran yang tepat dan integrasi kearifan local dalam pembelajaran dapat membantu meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa. Namun demikian sebagian besar guru pun belum mampu membuat media pembelajaran yang sesuai kebutuhan siswa dan berbasis kearifan lokal. Dengan demikian diperlukan adanya pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal untuk guru. Metode pelaksanaan program kemitraan masyarakat ini menggunakan Service Learning (SL). Metode SL terdiri dari empat langkah, yaitu investigasi, persiapan, tindakan, dan refleksi. Dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, guru dapat meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam menyusun dan menerapkan media digital, media ular tangga, dan buku cerita   berbasis kearifan local untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa. Pada kegiatan ini, 82% peserta merasa sangat puas terhadap materi yang disampaikan dan 80% peserta merasa sangat puas terhadap metode yang digunakan. Kata kunci: media pembelajaran; kearifan lokal; literasi; numerasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara resiliensi matematis dan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa serta mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran matematis berdasarkan kategori tingkat resiliensi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas X SMA yang dipilih melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi angket resiliensi matematis dan tes penalaran matematis pada materi trigonometri. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik korelasi Pearson Product Moment dan deskripsi kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang cukup kuat antara resiliensi matematis dan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Semakin tinggi tingkat resiliensi siswa, semakin tinggi pula kemampuannya dalam penalaran matematis. Siswa dengan resiliensi tinggi menunjukkan kemampuan manipulasi matematika, penggunaan pola dan hubungan, serta penarikan kesimpulan yang baik. Siswa dengan resiliensi sedang mampu menyelesaikan soal dengan benar namun kurang sistematis. Sedangkan siswa dengan resiliensi rendah belum memenuhi hampir seluruh indikator penalaran matematis secara optimal.
