Abstract

Environmental politics as part of social science has very broad aspects, one of which is the gender aspect. In fact, women can actively work in the public sector because it is important to balance gender roles between men and women. Cooperative decision making between men and women is a reflection of gender equality in forest resource management. This research analyzes the role of gender in decision making for forest resource management based on environmental politics in Pinang Jaya Village, Talang Mulya Village, and Cilimus Village around the Way Betung watershed. The data analysis used is descriptive quantitative. The research results show that gender roles in making decisions on forest resource management such as land preparation, seeding, planting, maintenance, harvesting and security activities are known to be dominated by husbands with an average percentage (77%), while women only dominate. in marketing activities with a percentage of (9%). The high role of men is caused by patriarchal cultural factors which still assume men have full access and good knowledge in managing forests. The correlation between job characteristics and decision making in forest resource management such as land preparation, seeding, planting, maintenance, harvesting, marketing and security is known to have a significant relationship. Meanwhile, there are still variables that are not correlated with the correlation between age, gender and education. Based on environmental political aspects, there is a need for intensive understanding and training regarding gender balance for site leaders because it has been proven that gender is correlated with the sustainability of natural resources.

Abstract

Vibriosis caused by Vibrio, such as V. parahaemolyticus, is one of several issues in shrimp farming. Antibiotic misuse in disease controlling is suspected of producing environmental contamination resistance of micorbia, and rejecting the products. One of the efforts that can be made to overcome vibriosis by utilizing endophytic fungi in mangroves. This is due to the similarity of bioactive compounds produced by mangroves and endophytic microorganisms. The aim of this research was to analyze at the bioprospection of endophytic fungi as anti-V. parahaemolyticus at the Lampung Mangrove Center (LMC). The aim of this study was to analyze at the bioprospection of endophytic fungi as anti-V. parahaemolyticus at the Lampung Mangrove Center. The method used in the study was exploratory by isolating endophytic fungi from the roots and leaves of mangrove plants that predominantly grow in LMC for further biaoctivity screening process against V. parahaemolyticus. This study employs an exploratory approach with descriptive analysis. Based on the antibacterial activity test using the agar plug method, 9 out of 76 fungal isolates showed the ability to inhibit the growth of V. parahaemolyticus, namely isolates coded L-A1-MD1, L-A1-MD2, L-A1-MD3, L-A2-MA4, L-A2-MA5, L-A2-MA6, L-B1-MD18, L-P4-MA47, and L-A6-MA79. All isolates of endophytic fungi that had bactericidal activity against V. parahameolyticus predominantly come from the mangrove plant Avicena marina.

Abstract

Social media helps tourist destinations build their image and branding. By sharing interesting visual content, traveler experience stories, and positive testimonials, tourist destinations can strengthen their identity in the public eye. The use of social media also allows a tourist destination to interact directly with tourists, by answering questions, providing recommendations, and sharing personal tourist experiences. This study aims to determine the respondents' level of understanding of the creation of social media about forest tourism in increasing the visibility and attractiveness of tourism in Lampung province, focusing on theories that support the role of social media in influencing tourist decisions. Respondents in this study amounted to 28 people who were parties to the Government Office which included the Tourism Office, Hiudp Environmental Service, Forestry Service, SDA Pesawaran, KPH Pesawaran, and Tahura. The implementation of this community service activity was carried out using lecture and FGD (Focus Group Discussion) methods conducted directly by lecturers of the Forestry Department and Social Media Training Resource Persons by Lampung Geh. The results of the pre-test and post-test show that if there is an increase in participants' understanding of social media related to ecotourism. The data analysis conducted shows a significant increase in participants' knowledge, this reflects the material provided by the resource person can be understood by the participants. The percentage of the pre-test value is 66% while for the post-test value is 95%, so there is an increase of 29%.

Abstract

Abstract

The conversion of forest land to agriculture has affected the ecosystem in the upstream area of Way Betung Watershed, including Tanjung Agung Village. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge, community participation, and agroforestry land conservation. The study was conducted on 30 respondents using a structured questionnaire, the results of which were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that the level of community knowledge was in the moderate category (mean score 2.3), while the level of participation was high (mean score 3.7). The level of agroforestry land conservation was recorded in the moderate to high category (mean score 3.3). Correlation analysis showed a significant relationship between knowledge and community participation (ρ = 0.414, p = 0.023) with sufficient closeness, but no significant relationship was found between knowledge and land conservation (ρ = 0.219, p = 0.245) or participation and land conservation (ρ = 0.291, p = 0.119). This study highlights that increasing community participation has great potential to support the success of agroforestry conservation, although the contribution of knowledge needs to be strengthened. The novelty of this research lies in the in-depth analysis of the level of relationship between social variables in supporting agroforestry-based conservation in the strategic upstream area of the Way Betung Watershed.

Abstract

Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park (Tahura WAR) is a conservation forestarea that serves as a source of water resources that the community utilizes daily. This research analyzes the characteristics influencing people's willingness to payfor water environmental services in the Tahura WAR. This research wasconducted from October to November 2024. The research location is based onboth villages, where water users are from the Tahura WAR area. Based on thisresearch, the results obtained show that the characteristics of respondents' age, occupation, income, water source, and the amount of water demand/day positivelyinfluence the willingness to pay of the community. The variable that has asignificant influence is income. In contrast, the variables of age, occupation, watersource, and the number of water needs/day do not significantly influence the valueof the willingness of the community of water environmental service users in WanAbdul Rachman Forest Park. This research is expected to make a scientificcontribution to developing studies on environmental economics, especially in thecontext of willingness to pay for water environmental services. The results of thisstudy are expected to be a reference for future researchers who are examiningsocial, economic, and environmental factors
