Abstract

One of the Importance of analytical thinking skills is needed on 21st-century learning and is a higher order thinking ability required in the 20133 curriculum. So this ability is needed in geography learning to prepare students to face everyday life's challenges. Efforts to influence it can be done through guided discovery learning and guided inquiry learning. The two models require students to actively participate in learning activities in order to acquire analytical thinking skills. This research aims to compare which of the two models is superior for developing analytical thinking skills. Researchers use quasy experiments with design post-test only control group. The research subjects are 11 IPS 1 as experimental class 1 and 11 IPS 2 as experimental class 2. The research sites in SMAN 8 Malang. The students’ analytical thinking skills were measured using 11 essay questions that were valid and reliable. The data analysis using independent sample t-test. The t-test result shows significance 0,034 less than equal to 0,05 so that H0 was rejected, H1 was received. That matter concluded that there is a difference in analytical thinking skills of experimental student one and experimental student two. The result also shows the guided inquiry model is superior to the guided discovery model. The reason is that there is a syntax to formulate a hypothesis on the guided inquiry model so that affects students’ analytical thinking skills. Pentingnya kemampuan berpikir analitis salah satunya dibutuhkan pada pembelajaran abad 21 dan merupakan kemampuan tingkat tinggi yang diperlukan pada kurikulum geografi 2013. Sehingga kemampuan ini dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran geografi untuk mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan kehidupan sehari-hari. Upaya dalam mempengaruhinya dapat dilakukan melalui model guided discovery dan model guided inquiry. Kedua model tersebut menuntut siswa untuk berpartisipasi aktif pada kegiatan pembelajaran guna memperoleh kemampuan berpikir analitis. Tujuan studi ini adalah mengkomparasikan kedua model tersebut mana yang lebih unggul untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa. Peneliti menggunakan Quasy Experiment dengan Design Posttest Only Control Group. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 11 IPS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dan 11 IPS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2, adapun lokasi penelitian di SMAN 8 Malang. Kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa diukur dengan 11 soal esai yang telah valid serta reliabel. Analisis Data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test. hasil uji t-test menujukkan signifikansi 0,034 kurang dari sama dengan 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak, H1 diterima. Hal tersebut disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa eksperimen 1 dan siswa Eksperimen 2. Hasil juga menjukkan model guided inquiry lebih unggul dibandingkan model guided discovery. Penyebabnya adalah terdapat sintak merumuskan hipotesis pada model guided inquiry sehingga lebih mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa.

Abstract

Landslide is one of the disaster threats in Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi Regency. Landslides have the potential to cause material and environmental damage as well as loss of life. This research aims to map the Susceptibility of landslides in Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi Regency. The method used in this study is the Storie Index method. Identification of landslide events based on remote sensing data and field observations taking into account the criteria of slope, geology, land use, soil texture and rainfall which is then processed using a Geographic Information System. Each criterion is weighted, then the results of the weighting are calculated using the Storie Index method. The results of the Susceptibility level of Pesanggaran District are divided into five classes: very low, low, medium, high and very high. Overall, Pesanggaran District has a low to very high level of Susceptibility. Landslides in Pesanggaran District often occur on mountain slopes that are relatively close to residents' homes or close to the tops of mountains. Very high levels of Susceptibility are found in Sumberagung and Kandangan Villages. Meanwhile, the level of Susceptibility is low to moderate in Pesanggaran, Sumbermulyo, and Sarongan villages. Longsor merupakan salah satu ancaman bencana di Kecamatan Pesanggaran, Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Longsor berpotensi menimbulkan kerusakan material dan lingkungan maupun korban jiwa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memetakan kerawanan longsor di Kecamatan Pesanggaran, Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Indeks Storie. Identifikasi kejadian longsor berdasarkan data penginderaan jauh dan observasi lapangan dengan mempertimbangkan kriteria kemiringan lereng, geologi, penggunaan lahan, tekstur tanah dan curah hujan yang kemudian diolah menggunakan perangkat Sistem Informasi Geografis. Setiap kriteria dilakukan pembobotan yang kemudian hasil pembobotan melalui proses perhitungan dengan metode Indeks Storie. Hasil tingkat kerawanan Kecamatan Pesanggaran terbagi menjadi lima kelas, yaitu: sangat rendah, rendah, sedang, tinggi dan sangat tinggi. Secara keseluruhan Kecamatan Pesanggaran memiliki tingkat kerawanan rendah hingga sangat tinggi. Longsor di Kecamatan Pesanggaran kerap terjadi di lereng pegunungan yang relatif dekat dengan rumah warga atau mendekati puncak pegunungan. Tingkat kerawanan sangat tinggi terdapat pada Desa Sumberagung dan Kandangan. Sementara itu, tingkat kerawanan rendah hingga sedang berada di Desa Pesanggaran, Sumbermulyo, dan Sarongan.

Abstract

INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN VOLCANO ERUPTION DISASTER PREPAREDNESS THROUGH DISASTER MITIGATION SIMULATION IN THE MOUNT SEMERU REGIONIndonesia is one of the countries prone to volcanic eruptions. One of the volcanic eruption disasters that occurred was the Semeru Volcano in 2021 and 2022 in Lumajang Regency. The impact of the Semeru Volcano eruption resulted in many casualties. This proves that the lack of understanding of the community in dealing with the threats and risks of volcanic disasters. Thus, the importance of action to minimize the impact of future disasters. The community service activities carried out by the community service team from the State University of Malang in the Decentralized Research and Service Program of the Faculty of Social Sciences are one of the solutions to increase community capacity in reducing the risk of volcanic disasters. The community service activities were carried out with disaster learning and volcano disaster mitigation simulations carried out in Sumbermujur Village, Lumajang Regency at a school directly affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru, namely SDN Sumberwuluh 2. Disaster learning activities and simulations aim to increase disaster knowledge and knowledge of volcano disaster simulations and minimize the impact of the eruption of the Semeru Volcano. The method is carried out with four stages: initial observation, socialization, implementation, and evaluation. The results show that disaster learning and disaster simulation need to be routinely carried out in schools to provide early disaster knowledge to deal with the threat of disasters that can occur at any time. From the activities carried out, students also gain knowledge skills in carrying out self-rescue steps in the event of a volcano disaster at school.Indonesia ialah salah satu negara yang rawan terhadap bencana erupsi gunung api. Salah satu bencana erupsi gunung api yang yang terjadi adalah Gunung Api Semeru Tahun 2021 dan 2022 di Kabupaten Lumajang. Dampak letusan Gunung Api Semeru mengakibatkan banyaknya korban jiwa. Hal itu membuktikan bahwa kurangnya pemahaman masyarakat dalam menghadapi ancaman dan risiko bencana gunung api. Dengan demikan pentingnya tindakan untuk meminimalisir dampak akibat bencana yang akan datang kedepannya. Dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian dari Universitas Negeri Malang dalam program penelitian dan pengabdian Desentralisasi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial sebagai salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam mengurangi risiko bencana gunung api. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan pembelajaran kebencanaan dan simulasi mitigasi bencana gunung api yang dilaksanakan di Desa Sumbermujur Kabupaten Lumajang pada sekolah yang terdampak langsung erupsi Gunung Semeru yakni SDN Sumberwuluh 2. Kegiatan pembelajaran kebencanaan dan simulasi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kebencanaan dan pengetahuan simulasi bencana gunung api, serta meminimalisir dampak erupsi Gunung Api Semeru. Metode diakukan dengan 4 tahapan yakni observasi awal, sosialisasi, pelaksanan, dan evaluasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kebencanaan dan simulasi bencana perlu rutin dilakukan di sekolah guna memberikan pengetahuan kebencanaan sejak dini untuk menghadapi ancaman bencana yang sewaktu waktu dapat terjadi. Dari kegiatan yang dilakukan peserta didik juga mendapatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dalam melakukan langkah-langkah penyelamatan diri bila terjadi bencana gunung api di sekolah.

Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF AN ADVENTURE-BASED VIRTUAL WEB TOUR FOR BRANDING PERAWAN BEACH IN MALANG DISTRICTMalang Regency has great natural tourism potential, especially its beach tourism. This is due to the construction of the Southern Crossing Line (JLS) to facilitate accessibility to coastal areas in southern Malang Regency. One of the beaches that has excellent potential is Perawan Beach. However, the potential of Perawan Beach has not been in line with the increase in the number of visitors. This is due to the lack of information about Perawan Beach's potential that is conveyed to potential visitors. In addition, Perawan Beach is also a beach that is not yet well known as a preferred beach tourist destination in Malang Regency. This service aims to develop an adventure-based virtual tour web for branding Perawan Beach, Sidoasri Village, Malang Regency. The method used to achieve this goal is to identify the potential of the Perawan Beach. Then, these potentials are made rides/tourism products offered to potential tourists through the digital web. To develop a digital web, data is taken in the form of photos and videos of the rides that have been made using a 360 camera for virtual presentation. The data is then compiled and packaged as attractive as possible which is then presented in the form of a virtual web as a branding of the Perawan Beach. The results of the service carried out, improving the Perawan Beach tourism manager and Sidoasri Village officials related to tourism management and promotion through adventure-based virtual tour web. Which in the end can increase revenue in tourism management at the Perawan Beach.Kabupaten Malang memiliki potensi wisata alam yang besar, terutama wisata pantainya. Hal ini disebabkan adanya pembangunan Jalur Lintas Selatan (JLS) untuk mempermudah aksesibilitas ke wilayah pesisir di Kabupaten Malang bagian selatan. Salah satu pantai yang memilki potensi besar adalah Pantai Perawan. Namun, potensi yang dimiliki Pantai Perawan tersebut belum sejalan dengan peningkatan jumlah pengujung. Hal ini disebabkan belum maksimalnya informasi terkait potensi Pantai Perawan yang tersampaikan ke calon pengunjung. Ditambah lagi, Pantai Perawan juga merupakan pantai yang belum begitu terkenal sebagai destinasi wisata pantai pilihan di Kabupaten Malang. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini yaitu mengembangkan web virtual tour berbasis adventure untuk branding Pantai Perawan Desa Sidoasri Kabupaten Malang. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut yaitu mengidentifikasi potensi-potensi yang dimiliki Pantai Perawan. Kemudian potensi-potensi tersebut dibuat wahana/produk wisata yang ditawarkan ke calon wisatawan melalui web digital. Untuk mengembangkan web digital dilakukan pengambilan data berupa foto dan video dari wahana yang sudah dibuat dengan menggunakan kamera 360 untuk penyajian secara virtual. Data tersebut kemudian disusun dan dikemas semenarik mungkin yang selanjutnya disajikan dalam bentuk web virtual sebagai branding Pantai Perawan. Hasil pengabdian yang dilakukan, meningkatkan manajemen pengelolaan dan promosi wisata pengelola wisata Pantai Perawan dan perangkat Desa Sidoasri melalui web virtual tour berbasis adventure. Dimana akhirnya dapat meningkatkan pendapatan dalam pengelolaan wisata di Pantai Perawan.

Abstract

Web-based Geographic Information System atau yang dikenal dengan WebGIS merupakan suatu teknologi baru yang berfungsi untuk mengelola data spasial dan terus mengalami perkembangan. Pemanfaatan WebGIS pada media open source digunakan untuk memperkenalkan kondisi spasial, salah satunya pada kegiatan pariwisata agar mudah diakses oleh wisatawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur performa dan tingkat stres pada aplikasi WebGIS dengan beberapa kriteria. Metode pengujian menggunakan aplikasi perangkat lunak meliputi Pagespeed Insight, GTmetrix, dan Webserver Stress Tool. Hasil dari pengujian performa WebGIS menggunakan Pagespeed Insight mendapatkan nilai 78 yang termasuk pada kelas medium, sedangkan hasil pengujian menggunakan GTmetrix didapati hasil nilai pagespeedmencapai 61 % dengan waktu download 3,7 detik. Hasil pengujian tingkat stres menggunakan Webserver Stress Tool diperoleh hasil rata-rata kejadian error 0,056 % dari 5 sesi pengujian dengan jumlah penggunayang berbeda

Abstract

The series of volcanic activities of Mount Raung triggered primary and secondary hazards in the area around the volcano. Kalibaru watershed is one of the areas prone to landslides due to secondary hazards of eruption activity in the direction of west and northwest part of this region. This study aims to optimize tourism by mapping landslide hazard using Spatial Multi-Criteria Evaluation (SMCE) around Mount Raung. This research used 46 points of landslide data through remote sensing, field observation. Ten landslide triggering factors, namely TPI (Topographic Position Index), TWI (Topographic Wetness Index), SPI (Stream Power Index), slope, distance to river, rainfall, geology, land use, distance to road, and soil type was used to map the landslide hazard. This study used ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) analysis to validate the landslide susceptibility mapping with an AUC (Area Under Curve) value of 0.93, which indicates that the mapping has a high accuracy value. The results showed that the landslide susceptibility is divided into three classes: high susceptible, moderate susceptible, and low susceptible. The high susceptible area covers 151.62 km2 (21%), the moderate susceptible area covers 407.99 km2 (56%), and the low susceptible area covers 166.79 km2 (23%). Based on the results of the mapping, tourism development in the area of Mount Raung is recommended in areas that are classified as medium and low landslide susceptibility.Keywords: Mount Raung, Landslides, SMCE, Tourism Development

Abstract

Medowo Village is a potential location for plantings due to its location on the slopes of Mount Anjasmoro in Kandangan District, Kediri Regency. Moreover, Medowo Village is renowned for its dairy for cows and goats. This research aimed to determine the type and level of participation in the production of organic fertilizers to support in sustainable agriculture. This research used a qualitative approach and descriptive method. The data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documenting. The identification of key informant was using the purposeful snowball throwing technique. Data analysis used reduction, display, and verification, as well as data validation through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The discussion was conducted with 20 farmers, with the main topics related to: a) the problem of fertilizer needs in Medowo Village, and b) producing fertilizer for sustainable farming using the Shivansh fertilizer method. According to the results, there were four stages of farmer participation: 1) planning, 2) implementation, 3) utilization of results, and 4) evaluation. The findings indicated that the level of farmer participation is classified as "good" for all stages. Participation is demonstrated specifically by attendance, participation, and enthusiasm. High participation is found mostly in stages that include activities in producing the . Therefore, inviting farmers at the planning stage is essential to increase participation in program.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru menerapkan metode yang tepat dalam meningkatkan minat belajar peserta didik pada materi sejarah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berupa pengamatan studi kasus. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti mengumpulkan data deskriptif yang diperoleh dari pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Peneliti melakukan pengamatan dilapangan selama bulan Februari hingga Maret 2024. Hasil dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa metode guru dalam mengajar sangat mempengaruhi minat belajar peserta didik. Apabila minat peserta didik meningkat, maka hasil belajarnya pun akan baik dan begitu juga sebaliknya. Oleh sebab itu, sebaiknya guru ketika akan melakukan kegiatan mengajar di kelas alangkah baiknya menggunakan berbagai metode yang bervariatif yang didukung dengan media kreatif yang interaktif seperti teka-teki silang, make a match, dan cerdas cermat, sebagai media penyampaian materi kepada siswa. Dengan begitu, guru dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran dan juga siswa lebih terdorong dan antusias ketika belajar sejarah di kelas.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore students' experiences with VR Geopark Ijen as a learning media for physical environment material, examining the factors influencing these experiences. Employing a survey methodology at Zainul Hasan 1 Senior High School, the sample comprised 82 students from the 11th grade. Data collection involved closed and open-ended questionnaires, with analysis conducted using descriptive statistics based on mean scores. Qualitative data from student responses provided deeper insights into the quantitative findings. Results indicated that VR Geopark Ijen provided a positive and significant experience for students. They rated the media as very good criteria across multiple aspects, including usefulness, pleasantness, entertaining, productivity, novelty, reliability, efficiency, user-friendliness, attractiveness, enjoyment, fulfilment, meaningfulness, engagement, communicativeness, collaborativeness, helpfulness, convincingness, willingness, and recommend. Aspects of feature comprehensiveness, confidence, attentiveness, responsiveness, respectfulness received good criteria. VR Geopark Ijen effectively facilitated contextual and meaningful learning, increased active student engagement, and delivered an enjoyable experience. These findings suggest that VR Geopark Ijen has the potential to be an innovative solution for improving the quality of physical environment learning, addressing access limitations and enhancing student understanding. Further development should consider feature comprehensiveness, bolster student confidence, and integrate VR with the curriculum while providing teacher training.

Abstract

The actualization of state defense is a means of socializing and internalizing the noble values of the Indonesian nation. However, this process is an obstacle for children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who were born and raised in Malaysia without official documents (illegal), so access to state defense education and local wisdom is very limited. Problems such as low knowledge about awareness of national defense attitudes and a lack of national spirit will emerge. Further problems will arise, feelings of injustice will arise, giving rise to threats to physical, ideological and political, economic, cultural and protection issues. The solution to the partners' problems, namely PMI children at the Johor Bahru Indonesian School (SIJB), is the development of serious game-based learning media about defending the country and local wisdom. The development stages start from analysis, design, and development.
