Abstract

In order to realize the goal of education, students are required to have critical thinking skills, especially in courses that are abstract like geography. Preliminary research has been done to find that the instruments used are not oriented to critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to know the process of developing critical thinking skills assessment instruments that meet the valid criteria. This type of research is development research by following the theory of device development according to Plomp (2013). The results show that the development of the device has been done only in the preliminary stage of research and prototyping phase. In the preliminary research stage the results obtained interviews with students and lecturers about the desired learning tool. At the phase prototyping phase obtained a good form of device to measure students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Problem of flooding and landslides in Indonesia are already an issue ordinary and natural, is due to geological conditions, geomorphological and meteorological Indonesia is very appropriate, ditambahlagi with the increasing number of population so many changes in land use of natural land into land settlements and land courts work. As a result, the problem of floods and landslides remain overshadow our lives. Several methods of flood and landslide risk reduction that can be done is to increase the capacity of infiltration of rainwater into the ground, therefore naturally infiltration process is reduced, then the artificial infiltration also can be done by methods as follows; Methods of spreading water on the surface "Water spreading", include; Methods basin.  "Basin Method), Method trenches "Furrow method", Method of natural channel "Natural channel method", Method immersion "Flooding method" , method of irrigation (irrigation method), method of replenishment of groundwater through pits, charging method of groundwater through wells injekasi, method "induced recharge". With this method, the risk of flooding and landslides will be reduced and even stopped with the help of other technical methods, in addition to the availability of the amount of groundwater can also be maintained. Keywords; Flood, Infiltration and Groundwater

Abstract

The aims of this article are to improve the ability of teachers and students to create interactive learning media and improve the understanding and ability of teachers in pedagogic aspects that can be seen from the process of designing a Lesson Plan (RPP), especially in terms of choosing a model or method and learning media. . This activity was carried out at SMAN 5 Pariaman and at SMAN 1 Ulakan Tapakis, Padang Pariaman using training methods, question and answer and practice. The participants involved are geography teachers and students who are represented in each class with 5 participants. With the Covid-19 Pandemic and the appeal from the government to comply with health protocols by checking temperature, washing hands, using hand sanitizers, maintaining distance, and wearing masks, this activity is carried out with limited participants, so that Covid-19 does not become the newest cluster in the region. activity. These activities include conducting training related to the design of effective learning media and conducting training related to the manufacture of interactive learning media for the cycle of hydrology and layers of the atmosphere for geography teachers and students. The results of the training at SMAN 5 Pariaman and at SMAN 1 Ulakan Tapakis, Padang Pariaman, were in the form of 3D media and increased the abilities possessed by teachers and students in making learning media, in this case, the 3D media of the cycle of hydrology and layers of the atmosphere. From this training, teachers get an increase in their ability to understand pedagogical aspects which can be seen from the process of designing lesson plans, especially in terms of choosing models and learning media. Geography teachers also better understand adequate competence in terms of designing and utilizing media so as to create quality, effective and interactive learning.

Abstract

This study was aimed at developing valid learning assessment device in Disaster Geography courses. The research method used was research and development model. The study was carried out at the College of Teacher Training and Education (STKIP) PGRI, West Sumatra. This study was conducted in 2017 with the subject of education students who took disaster geography courses. The development device in this study followed the general design proposed by Plomp which consists of 3 phases namely preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment phases. The result shows that product development need to be evaluated from the material and evaluation experts. The developed assessment must be equipped for all material. In the assessment of activities, self-assessment and peer assessment are an integral part of the evaluation process in disaster geography course. In order to develop practical product as demanded by university curricullum, the device must be harmonized with the assessment process contained in Indonesian National Qualifications Framework and National Standards and also focuses to all authentic aspects of assessment. Abstract

Swallow (Collocalia sp) is one type of bird that produces high economic value nest. Besides being economically valuable, swallow birds also have ecological values that play an important role in controlling insect pests that are caught while flying (Risman, 1996 in Mardiastuti, 1999). Productivity of Swallow's Bird's Nest is influenced by various factors, one of which is the environmental conditions. This study aims to identify the distribution patterns of swallow houses, analyze the distribution of swallow houses according to ecological factors and determine the productivity level of swallow houses in each class of swallow ecological suitability in Kampar District. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method with professional judgment factors (Jaya, 2005) to find out the swallow ecology suitability class, the nearest neighbor analysis method (Average Nearest Neighbor, ANN) for analysis of swallow house distribution patterns and analysis of multiple linear regression tests to determine which affects the results of swallow house productivity. The pattern of distribution of swallow houses in Kampar Regency is cluster pattern, with an index of 0.239766. The swallow ecology suitability class consists of very suitable classes 63.42%, corresponding to 2.08%, rather suitable 24.33% and not suitable 29.97%. Productivity of swallow houses in Kampar Regency ranges from 220.73 kg / month. The variables that affect the results of swallow house productivity are the age of the swallow house and the suitability class while the building area does not have a significant effect on productivity outcomes.
