Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of water quality physically (smell, color and taste) and chemically (pH, DHL, salinity, Fe, Mg, Na and hardness (CaCO3)) and the level and distribution of seawater intrusion in Ulakan Tapakis District. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, the research subject is a resident dug well where the research sample is determined using the Purposive Sampling technique with consideration of certain criteria according to needs, namely 7 samples of resident wells. The data analysis technique uses the storet method to determine the level of water quality and the scoring method is used to analyze the determination of the level of seawater intrusion and the overlay method to analyze the distribution of water quality and seawater intrusion. The results showed that (1) the level of water quality in Ulakan Tapakis Subdistrict physically dominant did not meet the water quality standard threshold requirements, (2) chemically did not meet the water quality standard threshold requirements because the Mg parameter exceeded the specified water quality standard threshold. with a value of 30mg/l. (3) The resident wells are known to have been polluted by seawater intrusion where the well in sample 6 is classified as brackish water with a DHL value of 1014µs/cm and a salinity of 6‰. Based on the conclusions, it can be concluded that: a) water quality is classified into class B (lightly polluted) and class C (moderately polluted). b) seawater intrusion is classified into class 1 (not intruded) and class 2 (light intrusion).

Abstract

Kawasan karst ngalau anak aia ilang memiliki potensi yang dapat dimanfaatkan. Namun dalam pemanfaatan potensi tersebut tidak berjalan dengan optimal karena keterbatasan data mengenai potensi yang ada dan belum adanya data mengenai tingkat pemanfaatan jasa lingkungan kawasan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi dan tingkat pemanfaatan jasa lingkungan yang dimiliki kawasan karst ngalau (gua) anak aia ilang di Desa Sakayan Kecematan Lubuk Alung Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu masyarakat desa sakayan. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 78 responden. Mengenai potensi yang dimiliki kawasan tersebut teknik yang digunakan yaitu survei sedangkan untuk tingkat pemanfaatannya dapat diketahui dengan menggunakan kuisioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif persentase. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan tingkat pemanfaatan jasa lingkungan karst ngalau (gua) anak aia ilang dalam kondisi sedang dilihat dari pemanfaatan yang cukup optimal pada sumber daya alam, keindahan bentang alam, ilmu pengetahuan dan objek lingkungan.

Abstract

Pendidikan geografi pada materi litosfer memerlukan alat bantu deskriptif seperti peta yang dapat dielaborasi dengan teknologi geospasial. Namun, pada pelaksanaannya peserta didik masih mengartikan alat bantu tersebut hanya sebagai simbol visual-spasial, mengabaikan informasi analisis spasial komprehensif lain yang lebih dalam. Temuan lain di lapangan juga mengarah pada adanya ketergantungan pada hafalan, sedangkan geografi membutuhkan penalaran kritis, analitis, dan sistematis, terutama dalam mengevaluasi fitur-fitur yang digambarkan pada peta. Di sisi lain, guru diharapkan mengelaborasi dengan deep learning untuk pemrosesan informasi materi pembelajaran geografi secara utuh. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini untuk penguatan kapasitas pedagogi guru dalam mengembangkan keterampilan literasi dan analisis spasial geografi peserta didik. Metode pengabdian menggunakan pelatihan partisipatif (participatory action research) dengan guru yang aktif melakukan kegiatan pelatihan dengan tahapan planning (persiapan), taking action-observation (pelaksanaan) dan reflection-evaluation (refleksi-evaluasi). Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa literasi spasial guru meningkat dengan nilai N-Gain 0,64 (sedang). Pada aktivitas pembelajaran, guru dapat mengembangkan soal berbasis literasi spasial OPTIC-SCRAP, serta guru dapat merancang dan mengembangkan aktivitas pembelajaran kelas secara interaktif menggunakan sumber data spasial, yakni peta geologi. Implikasi dari kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan, pelatihan literasi spasial berbasis OPTIC-SCRAP membantu guru memanfaatkan alat bantu deskriptif geografi, yang membuat pembelajaran semakin kontekstual dan relevan dengan perkembangan teknologi, khususnya teknologi geospasial dengan analisis citra dan peta.

Abstract

Lima Kaum Subdistrict possesses physical characteristics that make it highly vulnerable to flash floods, marked by varied topography and complex land use patterns. This study aims to analyze the relationship between physical regional characteristics and land use patterns with the level of flash flood vulnerability, focusing on river buffer zone analysis. The method used is descriptive quantitative, employing thematic map analysis (slope gradient, elevation, rainfall, soil type, land cover, and river density) and direct field observation. The results show that the northern region is dominated by steep slopes, while the southern part is relatively flat. High rainfall is concentrated in the western region, and dominant soil types such as Kambisol Gleik and Gleisol Distrik exhibit poor drainage. Land use patterns indicate rice fields in lowlands and dryland farming in hilly areas. River buffer analysis identifies three flood-prone zones: high-risk (<25 meters), moderate-risk (25–100 meters), and low-risk (100–250 meters). The study concludes that the combination of physical factors and poorly managed land use increases the vulnerability of Lima Kaum Subdistrict to flash floods. These findings serve as a foundation for adaptive and sustainable spatial planning-based disaster mitigation efforts.

Abstract

Nagari Bukik Batabuah and Nagari Batu Taba in Agam Regency are highly vulnerable to flash floods due to their location on the slopes of Mount Marapi and high rainfall intensity. The flash flood that occurred in 2024 caused severe losses, including casualties and infrastructure damage, while the absence of clearly defined evacuation routes hindered rescue efforts. This study aims to design effective evacuation routes using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to minimize future disaster risks. A mixed-methods approach was employed, with a dominant qualitative orientation in which researchers were directly involved in field data collection. The results indicate that the high-risk hazard zone covers 104.79 hectares, medium risk 1,158.27 hectares, and low risk 1,158.94 hectares. Recommended evacuation points in Nagari Bukik Batabuah include SDN 08 Kubang Duo Koto Panjang, SDN 11 Batabuah Koto Baru, the Bukik Batabuah Village Office, and Masjid At Taqwa Mantuang. In Nagari Batu Taba, the central evacuation point is SMKN 1 Ampek Angkek. Potential evacuation routes include Jl. Raya Canduang, Jl. Raya Sungai Pua, and Jl. Raya Panca. These findings provide a crucial foundation for disaster risk mitigation efforts and for strengthening community preparedness in disaster-prone areas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the earthquake hazard levels in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province, by identifying the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) values and the distribution of earthquake hazard levels. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive analysis and spatial analysis. The method employed in this study is Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA). To determine the Peak Ground Acceleration values, parameters such as earthquake location, occurrence time, and earthquake magnitude are used. For determining the earthquake hazard distribution, data on Ground Amplification Factor (GAF) is utilized. The results of this study show that the distribution of Peak Ground Acceleration in the study area ranges from 0.17 g to 0.93 g. The value of 0.17 g is found in Koto XI Tarusan District, while the highest value is observed in Silaut District. Additionally, the distribution of earthquake hazard levels shows that areas with low hazard level cover 697.04 km², moderate hazard level covers 4150.49 km², and high hazard level covers 1201.81 km². This study provides earthquake hazard maps that can be used for mitigation and planning in the region.

Abstract

Peran teknologi dalam pembelajaran tidak dapat dipisahkan. Hal tersebut semakin terasa saat terjadi pandemi Covid-19. Pada sisi yang lain, guru memiliki keharusan untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan perkembangan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, tidak terkecuali dalam pembelajaran geografi. Materi litosfer butuh berbantuan teknologi, kerena materi yang penting namun terbatas dalam media/labor di sekolah. Aplikasi virtual mikroskop dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu solusi untuk pembelajaran kontekstual, mudah, murah dan efektif. Metode Pengabdian dilakukan dengan pelatihan kompetensi pedagogi berbasis partisipatif. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan penguasaan media virtual mikroskop oleh guru MGMP geografi Kota Padang Panjang sangat meningkat hampir 95%. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan penguasaan materi, fitur media, pengembangan skenario pembelajaran berbasis STEM.
