Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze the direct effect of social capital factors and organizational cultureon the performance of medical personnel in hospitals Talaud Islands. The population in thisstudy is the Civil Servants (PNS) in Talaud Islands who served in hospitals Talaud Islands.Sampling technique in this study is proportional sampling with a sample size of 100 people.In the data analysis using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), using AMOS program(Analysis of Moment Structure) 20. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is a multivariateanalysis technique that was developed to cover the limitations that are owned by the previousanalytical models that have been widely used in statistical research. Stuctural equation model(SEM) can be seen as a combination of factor analysis, path analysis, and regression. Theresults indicate that (1) Social Capital and significant positive effect on the performance ofmedical personnel in hospitals Talaud Islands (2) Organizational culture positive andsignificant impact on the performance of medical personnel in hospitals Talaud Islands.Keywords : Social capital, Organization Culture, Performance

Abstract

ABSTRACT Areca nut (Areca vestiaria Giseke), which is a kind of wild palm, is a multi-functional plant. The North Sulawesi people empirically use this plant to cure various diseases. This study aims to determine the phytochemical content and antibacterial activity of ethanol extracts of areca nut against the inhibitory growth of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using 5 concentrations namely 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%. Extraction was done by maceration using 96% of ethanol. Antibacterial activity testing was using paper disc diffusion method (Kirby and Bauer diffusion). The results of this study indicate that the ethanol extracts of areca nut stem contains flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids that have the potential to be antibacterial and has antibacterial strength against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, at concentrations of 4% and 5%, which are concentrations which are included in the group that categorize as strong to inhibit the bacteria E. coli and P. aeruginosa, while the extract concentration of 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5% which are included in the group that categorize as strong to inhibit the S. aureus bacteria. Keywords: Agar diffusion method, Antibacterial, Areca nut, Phytochemical. ABSTRAK Pinang Yaki (Areca vestiaria Giseke) yang merupakan sejenis palem liar, merupakan tanaman yang multi fungsi. Masyarakat Sulawesi Utara secara empiris menggunakan tanaman ini untuk menyembuhkan berbagai macam penyakit.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan fitokimia dan aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol tangkai buah pinang yaki terhadap daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa menggunakan 5 konsentrasi yakni 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, dan 5%. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan cara maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi dengan cakram kertas (difusi Kirby dan Bauer). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol tangkai buah Pinang Yaki memiliki kandungan flavonoid, saponin, triterpenoid yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri dan memiliki kekuatan antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa, pada konsentrasi 4% dan 5% merupakan konsentrasi yang termasuk dalam golongan kuat untuk menghambat bakteri E. coli dan P. aeruginosa, sedangkan pada konsentrasi ekstrak 2%, 3%, 4%, dan 5% termasuk dalam golongan kuat menghambat bakteri S. aureus. Kata kunci: Pinang Yaki, Fitokimia, Antibakteri,metode difusi agar

Abstract

This research aims to determine the value of sun protecting factor (SPF) of pineapple skinextracts (Ananas comosus L Merr) in the form of cream with variant concentration of 2%,4% and 8%. The pineapple skin contains flavonoids and tannins substances that can give theeffect as a sunscreen. The formulation of pineapple skin extract cream using the phase of oilin water. The ingredients that was use in the cream formulation are stearic acid, liquidparaffin cera alba, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, triethanolamine, distilledwater and nipagin. Cream of pineapple skin extract then giving a variety of specified qualitytesting and SPF value. Each concentration cream diluted using 96% ethanol. Creams that hasbeen diluted read it’s absorbance value at UV-Vis Spectrophotometer instrument thencalculated the SPF values. The results showed that the cream of pineapple skin extract hasmet the requirements after conducting various quality of cream tests and the SPF value ofeach cream concentrations are very low. It’s been Concluded that the concentration ofpineapple skin extract cream 2% has shown a very small SPF value and increasing theconcentration of 4% and 8% demonstrate higher SPF values but still does not meet thestandards as a good sunscreen cream.Keywords : cream, extract, pineapple skin, sunscreen, sun protecting factor

Abstract

ABSTRACTPalm horse weevil contains medicinal properties that are useful in the process of woundhealing. The purpose of this study is to to examine formulate an ointment of palm horse(Ipomoea pes-caprae (L) Sweet) weevil extract and to test the ointment to heal open woundon the skin of rabbits. This study is experimental descriptive in the laboratory. Palm horseweevil extracts used in the manufactured of ointment formulation 10%, 15 % and 20 %. Theresults showed that the palm horse weevil formulation meets the ointment test requirementaccording, making ointment formulation using cassava tuber extract used as 5 rabbits.Divided into 5 treatment gropus, namely, test the ointment treatment group, negative controlgroup (basic ointment) and positive control group (chloramphenicol ointment). Observed thehealing effects for 7 days. The results showed that from day-1 to day-7 observations burnssuffered diminution in diameter. It was concluded that concentration of 10 % cassava extractontment has healing effect and increasing the concentration of 15 % and 20 % containedshowed more effective and speed up the healing process.Keywords : Extract leaf palm horse , ointment, wound healing, rabbit.

Abstract

Seagrass (Syringodium isoetifolium) is a plant that lives submerged at sea, this floweringplant, leaves, and stems that are plugged into a powerful in water. Abstract

The aim of these research were to study antibacterial effect, effective concentration, and theeffect of concentration alteration of white galangal rhizome extract ointmentto heal rabbitsback skininfected with Staphylococcus aureus. Extraction was done by maceration usingethanol 96% as solvent. Observation of healing time was done by observing infectionhealingtime on rabbits back skin after anointment treatment, which based onthe disappearance oferythema and pus. The result shows that 10% of white galangal rhizome extract ointmenteffective to heal the infection of Staphylococcus aureus. It shown by its short healing timecompared with concentration 3% and 5%. One way ANOVA result shows that there was asignificant effect between concentrations 3%, 5%,and 10%. Abstract

ABSTRACT Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza R.) is a plant that contains antimicrobial properties of essential oil and curcumin compounds. The purpose of this study was to formulate temulawak juice into gel preparations by varying the HPMC and Carbomer gel bases with each base concentration of 1%, testing the effectiveness of the antiseptic preparations and evaluating the physical preparations of the gel. This study used laboratory experimental methods. temulawak is soaked in aquadest then filtered and centrifuged to obtain temulawak juice and formulated in a gel preparation. Testing the effectiveness as a hand antiseptic using the replica method. The results showed that the temulawak water gel met the physical properties of the gel preparation which included organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, spreadability test, adhesion test, and syneresis test. The percentage of colony decline using the HPMC base was 29.53% and the Carbomer base was 14.74%. This shows that the gel preparation of Temulawak juice cannot reduce the normal flora of the skin so that it does not affect an antiseptic for hands. Key Words : Antiseptic, gel preparations, Curcuma (Curcuma xanthorrhiza R.)  ABSTRAK Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza R.) merupakan tanaman yang memiliki kandungan senyawa minyak atsiri dan kurkumin yang bersifat antimikroba. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memformulasikan air perasan temulawak menjadi sediaan gel dengan memvariasikan basis gel HPMC dan Karbomer dengan masing-masing konsentrasi basis sebesar 1 %, menguji efektivitas antiseptik sediaan dan mengevaluasi sediaan fisik dari gel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium. Temulawak direndam dengan aquadest kemudian disaring dan disentrifuse untuk mendapatkan air perasan temulawak dan diformulasikan dalam sediaan gel. Pengujian efektivitas sebagai antiseptik tangan menggunakan metode replika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gel air perasan temulawak memenuhi persyaratan sifat fisik sediaan gel yang meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat dan uji sineresis. Presentase penurunan koloni menggunakan basis HPMC sebesar 29,53 % dan basis Karbomer sebesar 14,74 %. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa sediaan gel air perasan temulawak tidak dapat menurunkan jumlah flora normal kulit sehingga tidak memiliki efek sebagai antiseptik tangan.  Kata Kunci : Antiseptik, sediaan gel, Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza R.)

Abstract

ABSTRACTColor is one of the determining factors in quality in cosmetics. Usage of synthjetic dye in blush on could cause irritation on facial skin, irritation on respiratory tract, and damage to the liver. The aim of this study was to formulate and to evaluate the physical characterization of the blush on preparation by using natural dye from the purple sweet potato extract (Ipomoea batatas L.) with the variation concentration on 20%, 25%, and 30%. Formulation of stick blush on used fusion method. The extract is obtained by means of maceration using ethanol solvent 96%. Organoleptics, color homogeneity, pH, stability toward light, polish test and preference test were included in the evaluation of the physical properties of the preparation. The result of the physical properties test showed the preparation’s color ranged from pale purple to dark pink, a distinctive scent of oleum rose perfume, soft texture, all preparation had homogenous arrangement, pH value of the preparation  ranged from 6.00-6.61, the best polish were on concentration 25% and 30% this is characterized by a one-time polishing of the ready has given a clear color when polished on the skin of the back of the hand, color observation at all preparation did not had any changes in 14 days, and the preferred preparation by the panelists were the preparation with pigment concentration of 20%, 25% and 30%. It can be concluded that the combination of the purple sweet potato extract (Ipomoea batatas L.) can be used as a natural dye in blush on preparation. Keywords: Ipomoea batatas L., Blush on, Formulation  ABSTRAK Warna adalah salah satu faktor penentu mutu kosmetika. Penggunaan pewarna sintesis pada perona pipi dapat menyebabkan iritasi pada kulit wajah, iritasi pada saluran pernapasan, dan kerusakan pada hati. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk memformulasi serta mengetahui evaluasi fisik sediaan perona pipi dengan memanfaatkan pewarna alami dari ekstrak ubi jalar ungu (Ipomoea batatas L.) dengan konsentrasi 20%, 25% dan 30%. Pembuatan sediaan perona pipi menggunakan metode peleburan. Evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi organoleptik, homogenitas warna, pH, stabilitas terhadap cahaya, uji poles dan uji kesukaan. Hasil pengujian sifat fisik menunjukkan bahwa sediaan yang dihasilkan memberikan warna ungu pucat hingga merah muda tua, bau khas parfum oleum rose, teksturnya lembut, semua sediaan memiliki susunan yang homogen, nilai pH sediaan 6,00-6,61, polesan terbaik pada konsentrasi 25% dan 30% hal ini ditandai dengan satu kali pemolesan sediaan telah memberikan warna yang jelas saat dipoleskan pada kulit punggung tangan , selama 14 hari pengamatan warna pada semua sediaan tidak mengalami perubahan terhadap cahaya, dan sediaan yang disukai oleh panelis adalah sediaan dengan konsentrasi zat warna 20%, 25% dan 30%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol Ubi Jalar Ungu (Ipomoea batatas L.) dapat digunakan sebagai pewarna alami dalam sediaan perona pipi. Kata kunci: Ipomoea batatas L., Perona pipi, Formulasi

Abstract

ABSTRACTBay leaf (Syzygium Polyanthum (Wight) Walpers.) is known contains flavonoids, saponins, tannins and vitamin C. Flavonoids and vitamin C have an antioxidant activity, since they have the ability to remove and effectively reduce a damaging oxidizer species. The aim of the study is to determine the impact of  the bay leaf ethanol extract enhancement concentration towards  an antioxidant activity of cream preparation by using the DPPH method. This research used laboratory experimental methods. Cream formulations are made with various concentrations 1%, 3%, 6% and 9%. The evaluation results of the bay leaf cream preparation has fulfilled the requirements of homogeneity, organoleptic, pH, adhesion, dispersion, and centrifugation. The results of the antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer which was the most effective as an antioxidant cream from bay leaf extract was 3% with a value IC_50 = 1.4630 ppm and vitamin C as a comparison with a value IC_50 = 0.1131 ppm. From this research, it can be concluded that the cream formulation of bay leaf ethanol extract has fulfilled the physical test parameters, stabile, and had a powerful antioxidant activity.Keywords: : Bay Leaf (Sysigium Polyanthum (Wight) Walpers.), Antioxidant Cream, DPPH (1.1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl) Method  ABSTRAKDaun salam (Syzygium Polyanthum (Wight) Walpers.) diketahui mengandung flavonoid, saponin, tanin dan vitamin C. Senyawa flavonoid dan vitamin C memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan, karena memiliki kemampuan untuk menghilangkan dan secara efektif mengurangi spesies pengoksidasi yang merusak. Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh peningkatan kosentrasi ekstrak etanol daun salam terhadap aktivitas antioksidan pada sediaan krim dengan menggunakan metode DPPH. Penelitian ini mengggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium. Formulasi sediaan krim dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi 1%, 3%, 6% dan 9%. Hasil evaluasi sediaan krim daun salam memenuhi persyaratan homogenitas, organoleptis, pH , daya lekat, daya sebar, sentrifugasi. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis yang paling efektif sebagai krim antioksidan dari ekstrak daun salam adalah 3% memiliki nilai = 1,4630 ppm dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding memiliki nilai = 0,1131 ppm. Dari penilitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun salam memenuhi parameter uji fisik, stabil dan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat. Kata kunci : Daun Salam (Sysigium Polyanthum (Wight) Walpers.) Abstract

ABSTRACT Basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum  L.) contain flavonoid, saponins and tannins that have antibacterial activity. This study is aims to make basil cream then determine antibacterial activity of cream against Staphylococcus aureus. The cream  was made with five concentrations of extract 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, 15% respectively. The extract was obtained by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent. Antibacterial test was carried out by using the well method. The results of the evaluation of physical properties for the organoleptic test and homogeneity test showed that the cream dosage form met the requirements, the average pH value is 4.92±0.27, average value of dispersion test is 3.30±0.0 cm, average value of adhesion test is 7.92±0.29 seconds. Antibacterial effectiveness test showed an average diameter value for formula I (3%) is 8.94±1.60 mm, formula II (6%) 9.46±6.85 mm, formula III (9%) 10.30±3.28 mm, formula IV (12%) 15.18±8.04 mm, formula V(15%) 16.23±4.16 mm. The statistical test proves that formula V has the best resistance  and can be concluded that the antibacterial cream dosage form of the ethanol extract of basil leaves can be formulated into a cream that is good, physically stable and can inhibit bacterial growth. Keywords: Basil Leaves (Ocimum basilicum  L.), Cream, Antibacterial. ABSTRAK Daun Kemangi (Ocimum basilicum  L.) memiliki kandungan senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang bersifat sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun kemangi yang stabil secara fisik dan mengetahui daya hambat krim antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Krim dibuat menggunakan lima variasi konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, 15%. Ekstrak diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Uji antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode sumuran. Hasil evaluasi sifat fisik untuk uji organoleptik dan uji homogenitas menunjukkan sediaan krim memenuhi persyaratan, nilai pH rata-rata 4,92±0,27 nilai rata-rata daya sebar 3,30±0,0 cm; niai rata-rata uji daya lekat 7,92±0,29 detik. Uji efektivitas antibakteri menunjukkan nilai rata-rata diameter untuk formula I (3%); 8,94±1,60 mm; formula II (6%) 9,46±6,85 mm; formula III (9%) 10,30±3,28 mm; formula IV (12%) 15,18±8,04 mm; dan formula V (15%) 16,23±4,16 mm. Uji statistika membuktikan bahwa formula V memiliki daya hambat yang paling baik dan disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kemangi dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim yang baik dan stabil secara fisik dan dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Kata Kunci: Daun Kemangi (Ocimum basilicum  L.) , Krim, Antibakteri
