Abstract

This research is an important step in energy planning which is the main in electricity planning in the long-term forecast for the demand and supply of energy supply. A simple model is presented using LEAP (Long Term Alternative Energy Planning System) as a broadcasting tool and Central Java as a case study case for this research. This research discusses future energy needs. Electricity needs in the household, industrial, business, and community sectors are calculated based on data on participation, electricity consumption, installed electricity generation capacity, electrification ratio, and electricity strengthening. The base year of this research is 2020 and 2045 is the final period of this forecast. The results of this study indicate that energy needs in Central Java will increase by an average of 23.44% in 2045 or five times compared to 2020 by taking into account various factors of regional economic growth and electricity demand each year

Abstract

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for 2019, Cilacap Regency has an area of 14,000 hectares of rice farming land with a potential for harvesting up to 920,000 tons of rice, then the Binangun District area has 66.5 hectares of rice farming land with a potential of harvesting up to 32,000 tons of rice. Turning paddy into rice requires many processes, one of which is drying rice. Traditional rice drying takes a relatively long time, has an uneven moisture content, and is under an unstable temperature therefore it is necessary to develop a thin-layer method for drying rice. This study used the Rex C100 Thermocontrol as a drying temperature controller, used an Arduino Uno equipped with a BTS 7960 driver to adjust the stirring speed, and a YL-69 sensor to read the rice moisture content. Tests in this study were carried out using Inpari-32 rice with a mass of 2 Kg and a drying temperature of 50-80oC. The result of this study was that the relationship between temperature and time in drying was inversely proportional. The rice drying process uses the highest drying power of 654.5 watts while the lowest power is 467.5 watts. The lowest overall energy use was 2.05 x106 J and the highest energy was 2.60 x106 J. The highest drying rate was 0.50%bk/minute. Effective drying uses a temperature of 80oC with a time of 30 minutes to reach the store-dry rice and 70 minutes to reach the dry milled rice category.

Abstract

Metal Matrix Composite is one of the metal composites that utilize aluminum alloy as a matrix in its fabrication. MMC has better specifications than the conventional materials it forms because it is light, ductile, with better hardness properties. The aluminum alloy as the matrix in this study has good mechanical properties but relatively low hardness values, especially type 2xxx aluminum containing Al-Cu or duralumin. By adding silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic content which acts as a filler in the manufacture of MMC it aims to increase the hardness value through a strengthening mechanism by analyzing the distribution of filler particles to the matrix. Using the sintering method with temperature variations that affect the mechanical properties of MMC. From the tests carried out the MMC specimens experienced an increase of 7.06% with the highest hardness value at 300oC sintering temperature of 71.6 HRB. With a SiC content of 14.42% Wt. Then it was observed using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) that the distribution of SiC particles experienced an even distribution and bonded to the aluminum matrix thereby reducing porosity and increasing the hardness value of the MMC material.
