Abstract

Virtually based training is an alternative way for academics and training to equip students with the skills necessary for any career. The synchronous learning mode as a training mode is considered effective in improving the skills of digital educators, especially in the digital era of the 21st century. The use of this mode is increasing, but its effect on learning retention in teacher training has not scientifically proven. This study aims to implement a HOTS-based training program using synchronous learning media at an educational technology-based company. The research method used is descriptive-quantitative to obtain an overview of the implementation of the training from the aspects of reactions, cognitive understanding, and learning outcomes that are applied after. The results showed that the participants' reaction to the training followed by using synchronous learning mode were very good, there was a change in understanding related to HOTS learning between before training and before training it could be applied in the day-to-day teaching process.

Abstract

Studi ini mengangkat tentang perspsi guru terhadap projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila (P5) sebagai program kokurikuler dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada indikator tujuan, isi, proses, dan evaluasinya. Hal ini didasarkan oleh pentingnya memahami P5 sebagai program kokurikuler yang bisa menguatkan karakter dan kompetensi. Untuk menggali data maka penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, yang mana pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara penyebaran angket kepada 100 orang guru SD di kota Cimahi, kemudian dilakukan wawancara terbatas kepada 3 orang guru sampel untuk memperkuat angket. Teknik penentuan sampel dengan sampling purposive. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil temuan menujukkan bahwa persepsi guru terhadap P5 ditinjau dari indikator pemahaman kokurikuler, indikator tujuan P5, indikator isi P5, indikator proses P5 dan indikator evaluasi P5 berkategori cukup. Hal ini diperkuat dengan hasil wawancara yang menunjukkan bahwa guru tidak memahami alur P5, komponen modul P5, dan sintaks aktivitas P5. Dengan demikian persepsi guru tentang P5 masih dikategorikan cukup atau belum baik. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya peningkatan pemahaman guru terhadap P5 salah satunya melalui penggunaan platform merdeka mengajar sebagai media pelatihan mandiri guru yang bisa dilakukan dimana saja dan kapan saja. Pemanfaatan platform merdeka mengajar diharapkan mampu memperbaiki persepsi guru terhadap P5 sebagai program kokurikuler dalam kurikulum merdeka.

Abstract

Teachers and students had access to and were making use of digital tools and platforms when the education system was strained by the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this research is to investigate how digital utilization into the instructional process affected teachers' use of technology during the recent COVID-19 pandemic. In this qualitative study, we used surveys (the Technology Integration and the Teaching Performance Survey) to gather our data. One hundred and one science teachers from junior high school levels were included in the sample from West Java Area, Indonesia. As the research showed, During the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers' adoption of technology was aided by digital content on science significantly positive to support and complete the learning goals. Implications for policymakers, school administrators, and future studies are essential for further development.Guru dan siswa memiliki akses ke dan memanfaatkan alat dan platform digital ketika sistem pendidikan berubah secara drastis sebagai akaibat dari pandemi COVID-19. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengulas bagaimana dampak pemanfaatan materi digital dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah jenjang menengah (SMP) khususnya pada bidang studi IPA yang mempengaruhi penggunaan teknologi oleh guru selama pandemi COVID-19 baru-baru ini. Dalam studi kualitatif ini, kami menggunakan dua survei (Survei Integrasi Teknologi dan Performansi Guru) untuk mengumpulkan data. Seratus satu guru IPA tingkat SMP terlibat atau turut serta sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini yang berasal dari sekolah di wilayah Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, Selama pandemi COVID-19, adopsi teknologi oleh guru yang diikuti dengan integrasi teknologi meningkatkan performansi guru dalam mengajar sehingga secara signifikan dan positif mendukung ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Implikasi lanjutan bagi pembuat kebijakan, administrator sekolah, dan studi kedepannya juga dirasa penting untuk dikembangkan

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of understanding of students in learning. Understanding by Design (UbD) can be implemented in the planning and implementation of learning to overcome these problems. Such as learning that is only focused on the teacher, the lack of involvement of students in the learning process so that students are less able to build their own understanding concepts. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of Understanding by Design in planning and implementing mathematic learning. In this reseach using the Systematic Literature Review method by collecting around 50 journal articles relevant to the research which were then re-selected. Understanding by Design (UbD) emphasizes understanding of students, in the process UbD uses a backwards design where the first thing to do is to determine what results are expected, then determine acceptable evidence, then in the last stage arrange steps in learning activities according to needs and learning objectives. Based on literature studies that have been carried out using a number of articles that are relevant to research and have gone through a re-selection process, the implementation of Understanding by Design (UbD) in learning is proven to increase students' mathematic understanding because in this learning students are actively involved so that learning is not teacher centered and this design can be an alternative learning design to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the Implementation of Learning using the Understanding by Design (UBD) Approach. This study aims to obtain a literature review on the effectiveness of Learning Design with the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach. The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review method. From the results of the strategy search, 70 articles were found from 2010 to 2022. Then they were gradually and systematically selected into 6 articles that were relevant to the topic of Learning. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of the Implementation of Learning using the Understanding by Design (UBD) Approach. being more active during class, (2) Increasing the six aspects of understanding, explanation, interpretation, application, perspective, empathy, and self-knowledge, aspects of self-knowledge.

Abstract

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a global program to provide students with knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values needed to address the challenges of sustainability. The condition of Indonesia's sustainable development index still faces challenges. Indonesia's average SDGs achievement index compared to other ASEAN countries is in position 7 out of 10 ASEAN countries in the 2017-2021 timeframe with an average of 64.3 out of a maximum score of 100. Education as a driving force for achieving a sustainable development index has not been used as an instrument to support achieving a better index. This study aims to describe the implementation of ESD in junior high school teachers in West Java. This study used a survei using questionnaires distributed to 384 teachers spread across five regencies/cities in West Java Province. Findings of the study show that 48,23% teachers do not know about ESD, have not implemented ESD 51,27%, and do not the competencies needed to implement ESD 48,57%. The findings imply in the necessity of relevance competencies to implement ESD.

Abstract

ESD competence is key for teachers to implement ESD in schools so that education can make a real contribution to achieving sustainable development goals. This study analyzes the relationship between perceptions of teacher ESD competence and ESD implementation in Junior High Schools (JHS). This study uses a correlational study. The population in this study included JHS teachers. The research sample consisted of 384 teachers who were taken using a multistage sampling technique by taking teachers from 3 sub-districts in 6 urban districts. The data collection method used is by distributing questionnaires to respondents. Data analysis is using percentage analysis technique amd Pearson correlation analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that teachers need ESD competencies because teachers feel that the implementation of ESD in schools is still in the average category. So teachers hope to acquire competencies related to ESD in more depth. Based on this, it is hoped that policymakers at the national level, local governments, and even the schools themselves will organize activities to improve ESD competence for teachers in various forms of training, seminars, and others. This is done so that the implementation of ESD in schools can be maximized so that teachers, as the spearhead of education, can make a real contribution to achieving the 2030 agenda.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has received significant attention in the educational context, and one of the prominent forms of AI is ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer). This study aims to conduct a literature review on the role of ChatGPT AI in student learning experiences. This literature review research focuses on the use of ChatGPT in supporting the learning process of students at various levels of education. The literature review method is used to collect, evaluate, and synthesize the latest literature that is relevant to the research topic. The results of the literature review show that the use of ChatGPT AI in education has grown rapidly in recent years. ChatGPT has been applied in a variety of educational contexts, including as a learning assistant, virtual tutor, assignment corrector, and interactive learning aid. Some of the benefits of using ChatGPT AI in education include increasing the accessibility of learning materials, providing fast and personalized feedback, and encouraging student engagement and learning motivation. However, some challenges need to be addressed, such as ethical concerns, data privacy concerns, and technology limitations. This study concludes that AI ChatGPT has great potential to change the way students learn by providing adaptive and personal assistance in the learning process. To support more effective learning experiences, practitioners and decision-makers in the education sector need to understand the potential and limitations of using ChatGPT.

Abstract

The purpose of Islamic Religious Education (PAI – Pendidikan Agama Islam) is to form students who have noble character, who are not only righteous in worship practices, and who are not only pious individually but also socially. A curriculum that aims at achieving this goal is an integrated curriculum. This qualitative study aimed at identifying the implementation of an integrated PAI curriculum in three schools with Islamic characteristics. Data were collected through observation, documentation studies, and in-depth interviews. Interviews were conducted with principals, vice principals, PAI teachers, and students. The results showed that students' understanding of moral values in PAI learning increased through curricular activities. Meanwhile, increasing student piety was achieved through co-curricular activities.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate learning objectives, strategies in achieving memorization targets, how to carry out the Al-Qur'an tahfiz learning curriculum. The research method used is a qualitative approach by directly analyzing the daily activities of teachers and participants through various processes including muayasyah, research and development, interview, library, and documentation. This research was conducted in five Islamic boarding schools in West Java, Indonesia. The results of the research show that teachers are at the forefront of curriculum development, that every teacher must be smart in capturing every situation that develops. The results of research on Islamic boarding schools show that by giving teachers the widest possible authority to carry out the curriculum and develop it according to situations and conditions in the field, it has succeeded in facilitating students to achieve memorization targets according to their respective abilities. That the materials and learning strategies that have been developed can be used as comparisons in order to improve teacher quality. From this study it can be concluded that in the work of compiling the curriculum it is not enough to only use experts but also must involve experienced teachers as a team and contributors of ideas from the field.
