Abstract

Purpose: To explore the nurses’ positive deviance behaviors as an effort to provide solutions in preventing and controlling infections in the hospital. Method: This is a qualitative research using grounded theory approach. Thirteen nurses from Dr.M.Djamil hospital were selected based on theoretical sampling in order to develop theory as it appears. Nurses were interviewed from June to September 2014. Interviews were thematically analyzed using techniques of grounded theory to then generate a theory from themes formed. Findings: The modes of positive deviance behavior identified were practicing hand hygiene beyond the standards (bringing handsanitizer from home), applying nursing art in wound care practice, placing patients with MRSA infections at the corner side, giving a red mark on a MRSA patient’s bed for easy identification by nurses, changing clothes and shoes in hospital, reducing hooks on the wall, and cleaning the ward on scheduled days. Conclusion: The study shows that nurses have a number of positive deviance behaviors to prevent infection transmission in the wards. It is sugested that the hospital management and nursing managers adopt some of the uncommon solution highlighted by the nurses to solve the HAIs problems in the hospital.0

Abstract

ABSTRACT Documentation is a means of affective communication between health professions. The low quality of integrated record documentation in Indonesia includes incomplete CPPT where patient identity, date and time of visit are not filled in, PPA's signature and full name, and lack of discipline in filling out medical records by PPA. Supervision is carried out in stages in the preparation, implementation and evaluation phases. The preparation phase contains the planning of the supervision program that will be carried out. The implementation phase is the nurse's assessment by the supervisor while the last phase is the evaluation of the supervision assessment (from the results of direct and indirect observations from the CPPT. The purpose of the thesis is to analyze the relationship between the implementation of supervision on CPPT at the Riau University General Hospital. This study was conducted with a cross sectional approach and is a quantitative study. The research sample is 33 people with total sampling sampling technique. The study uses questionnaires and observation sheets that have been tested for validity and reliability. Through statistics there is a relationship between the preparation phase (p value 0.000), the implementation phase (p value 0.001) and the evaluation (p value 0.000) clinical supervision model 4S with CPPT. Researchers recommend the role of supervision to improve service quality and completeness of integrated recording documentation, carried out by increasing the frequency of supervision and assessment of the implementation of the document integrated logging entity. Keywords: Supervisor Characteristics, Supervision 4S model   ABSTRAK Dokumentasi adalah sarana komunikasi afektif antar profesi kesehatan. Rendahnya kualitas pendokumentasian catatan terintegrasi di Indonesia   meliputi tidak lengkapnya CPPT dimana tidak terisinya identitas pasien, tanggal dan jam visite, tanda tangan PPA serta nama dengan lengkap, serta kurangnya kedisiplinan pengisian rekam medis oleh PPA. Supervisi dilakukan bertahap dalam fase persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Fase persiapan berisi perencanaan program supervisi yang dijalankan. Fase pelaksanaan merupakan penilaian perawat oleh supervisor sedangkan fase terakhir adalah evaluasi dari penilaian supervisi (dari hasil observasi langsung dan tidak langsung dari CPPT. Tujuan tesis adalah menganalisis hubungan pelaksanaan supervisi terhadap CPPT di Rumah Sakit Umum Universitas Riau. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 33 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel total sampling. Penelitian menggunakan kuesioner dan lembar observasi yang sudah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Melalui statistik terdapat hubungan fase persiapan (p value 0,000), fase pelaksanaan (p value 0,001) dan fase evaluasi (p value 0,000) supervisi klinik model 4S dengan CPPT. Peneliti merekomendasikan peran supervisi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan dan kelengkapan pendokumentasian pencatatan terintegrasi, dilakukan dengan cara peningkatan  frekuensi pengawasan dan penilaian terhadap pelaksanaan pendokumentasian pencatatan terintegrasi. Kata Kunci: Karakteristik Supervisor, Supervisi model 4S

Abstract

Waktu tunggu di unit rawat jalan di rumah sakit di seluruh dunia berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik waktu tunggu pasien rawat jalan di RSUD dr. Adnan WD Kota Payakumbuh. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Proporsional stratified random sampling, atau probability sampling, digunakan dalam metode pengambilan sampel. Dalam penelitian ini, 108 sampel diambil. Kriteria inklusi meliputi pasien yang dalam keadaan sadar dan dapat berkomunikasi dengan jelas, berusia lebih atau sama dengan 18 tahun, telah mendapatkan pelayanan di poliklinik rawat jalan setidaknya 2 kali, dan bersedia menjawab pertanyaan tanpa paksaan dari pihak lain. Penelitian dilakukan dari Agustus 2022 hingga Mei 2023. Hasil penelitian ditemukan karakteristik pasien rawat jalan di RSUD dr. Adnan WD Kota Payakumbuh diketahui lebih dari separuhnya berjenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak (69.2%), hampir separuhnya berusia 51-60 tahun sebanyak (46.2%), dan hampir separuhnya memiliki pendidikan SMU sebanyak (41,5%), dan lebih dari separuhnya bekerja sebagai IRT sebanyak (67,7%), lama waktu tunggu di unit rawat jalan RSUD dr. Adnan WD Kota Payakumbuh diketahui bahwa hampir seluruhnya > 60 menit sebesar (88,7%). Kesimpulan: waktu tunggu di unit rawat jalan melebihi Indikator Nasional Mutu Pelayanan Kesehatan yaitu < 60 menit

Abstract

Diabetes melitus adalah masalah kesehatan yang serius berimplikasi pada individu, masyarakat, dan layanan kesehatan. Pasien diabetes memiliki prevalensi readmission sebesar 24% di rumah sakit dalam jangka waktu satu tahun. Salah satu faktor meningkatnya risiko readmission ini adalah length of stay yang lama. Tujuan penelitian adalah melihat karakteristik length of stay dan readmission pasien diabetes melitus di RSUD di Kota Batusangkar. Metode Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini adalah 65 responden dengan kriteria inklusi bersedia menjadi responden dan pasien merupakan pasien baru masuk ke ruangan. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Agustus 2022 – Juli 2023. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuisioner data demografi yang terdiri dari jenis kelamin, usia, pendidikan, tingkat pekerjaan, length of stay dan readmission. Hasil Penelitiannya adalah karakteristik pasien diabetes di RSUD di Kota Batusangkar diketahui bahwa lebih dari separuhnya (69.2%) berjenis kelamin perempuan, hampir separuhnya (46.2%) dengan rentang usia 51-60 tahun, hampir separuhnya (41.5%) dengan tingkat pendidikan SMU, dan lebih dari separuhnya (67.7%) IRT, lebih dari separuhnya (66,3%) memiliki length of stay < 5 hari , dan hampir seluruhnya (90,8%) tidak mengalami readmission. Kesimpulannya adalah diabetes melitus merupakan masalah kesehatan yang serius. Tingkat keberhasilan terapi pasien diabetes dapat dilihat dari length of stay dan readmission. Di RSUD Batusangkar lebih dari separuhnya (66,3%) pasien diabetes melitus memiliki length of stay < 5 hari dan hampir seluruhnya (90,8%) tidak mengalami readmission. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut terkait faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhi variasi length of stay dan readmission dan melihat hubungan antara readmission dengan length of stay.

Abstract

Introduction: The problem that is happening right now is the level of national nurse competency test passing which is currently still low. Various factors are believed to influence, among others, clinical learning strategies that are ineffective and do not meet the different learning needs such as in leadership and nursing management subjects. Various effective models have been studied and developed including the One Minute Preceptor (OMP) mode and SNAPPS. Objective: to assess and compare the effectiveness of the OMP and SNAPPS models on the achievement of students' cognitive, affective, psychomotor and critical thinking competencies in the nursing management phase. Method: quasi-experiment with pretest and posttest group design. Total sampling (n = 13) and grouped n1 = 6 (OMP) and n2 = 7 (SNAPPS). Data analysis with paired t-test and independent t-test. Results: There were differences in the mean of competence (P <0.05) before and after the OMP treatment (cognitive; 18.3, affective; 7.8, critical thinking; 11.6) and SNAPPS (cognitive; 19.28, affective; 3.14, critical thinking; 5.0. There is a difference (P <0.05) the difference between the average competence before and after the treatment of OMP and SNAPPS (cognitive; 21,31 and 20,35) and (critical thinking: 0,96 and 7,61) Conclusion: OMP clinical learning model is considered more effective in the cognitive domain, critical thinking and psychomotor while the SNAPPS model is effective in the affective domain

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of ANNISA development on nurses' knowledge of nursing documentation. This method uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design and a time series approach non-equivocal control group design. The study results were there were differences in the measurement of nurses' knowledge about nursing documentation in the intervention group before the intervention by measuring posttest-1 with p-value = 0.000. There were differences in nurses' experience about nursing documentation between the intervention group and the control group in the posttest-1 and posttest-2 measurements after the intervention using ANNISA with p-value = 0,000. There was an increase in differences in nurses' knowledge about nursing documentation from the pretest, posttest-1, and posttest-2 measurements after using ANNISA in the intervention group and the control group with p-value = 0.000. Abstract

This study aims to analyze nurses' clinical leadership abilities based on the clinical leadership competency framework approach and its determinants in the inpatient room of Padangsidimpuan Hospital. The research design in this study used a descriptive-analytic correlation. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the availability of nursing resources, management support, and work environment support with clinical leadership abilities, with a p-value for each variable, namely the availability of nurse resources (p = 0.043), management support (p = 0.000) and support work environment (p = 0.005). Meanwhile, competence has no significant relationship with nurses' clinical leadership ability in the inpatient room of RSUD Padangsidimpuan (p = 0.084). Multivariate analysis shows that management support is the most dominant variable associated with clinical leadership skills, with an Odds Ratio (OR) value of 4.476. In conclusion, nurses' clinical leadership ability must be supported by the availability of nurse resources, work environment support, and management support to obtain quality nursing services. Abstract

This study aims to describe nurses' knowledge, attitude, and competence in using social media. The research method used is quantitative descriptive research. The results showed that the average respondent's understanding of social media was 5.87, with a minimum score of 1 and a maximum score of 11 out of a total score of 0-25. The average altitude of respondents to social media is 80.39, with a minimum score of 64 and a maximum score of 96 out of a total score of 25-125. The average nurse competency in social media is 68.19, with a minimum score of 50 and a maximum score of 94 out of a total score of 30-150. In conclusion, nurses' knowledge, attitude, and competence in social media still need to be added to the expected total score. Keywords: Competence, Social Media, Knowledge, Nurse, Attitude

Abstract

Background: Indonesia, especially West Sumatra Province, is a disaster-prone area. Thus, assessing the preparedness of institutions, especially hospitals as health service facilities in disaster management, is important to do, including the Andalas University Hospital as one of the educational hospitals prepared for disaster management. One of the measuring tools used to analyze hospital preparedness in disaster management is the Hospital Safety Index (HSI). Through HSI, it can be assessed the preparedness of hospitals in disaster management in terms of the functional capacity of disaster emergency management. HIS also looks at how far the hospital can operate in a disaster emergency.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the Functional Capacity Preparedness of Andalas University Hospital in Disaster Management Based on the Hospital Safety Index.Method: This research is a quantitative research with an evaluative descriptive approach. The research population was all staff and management of Andalas University Hospital who were involved in the disaster management process at the hospital, totaling 379 people and a sample of 15 people were selected by purposive sampling technique. The instrument in the study used the Hospital Safety Index checklist module 4 regarding preparedness of the functional capacity of the hospital and interview guidelines. Hospital preparedness analysis using the Hospital Safety Index Calculator on the Excell tabulation.Result: The results showed that the functional capacity preparedness index for disaster emergency management at Andalas University Hospital was 0.69. This shows that the classification of Andalas University Hospital is in status A with a high level of preparedness (index range 0.66-1). Hospital constraints in improving disaster preparedness in terms of functional capacity are limited budget funds, limited human resources, the location of the hospital is quite far and the focus of hospital management on disaster preparedness has not been. Hospitals have taken various strategies to overcome the obstacles experienced in order to optimize the functions of hospitals in disaster preparedness.

Abstract

Pasien pasca stroke iskemik cendrueng memiliki gejala sisa yang dapat mempengaruhi fungsi fisik dan aktifitas sehari-hari pada pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempengetahui pengararuh pemberian Discharge Planning dan pembedayaan keluarga model home care service dengan pendekatan continuity of care (Hcs-Coc) terhadap kualitas hidup pasien stroke iskemik. Desain penelitian quasi experimental,non equivalent,control group pretest dan posttest design. Pengambilan sampel convenience sampling yang berjumlah 24 orang. Sampel yaitu pasien stroke iskemik. Uji statistik yang digunakan wilxocon signed test dan mann whitney test. Hasil uji statistik dengan nilai p=0.042(<0.005), artinya adanya pengaruh pada intervensi Discharge Planning rumah sakit dan pemberdayaan keluarga model home care service dengan pendekatan continuity of care (Hcs-Coc) pada pasien stroke iskemik, sedangkan pada intervensi Discharge Planning rumah sakit nilai p=0.875 artinya tidak ada pengaruh antara sebelum dan sesudah pemberian intervensi. Disarankan bagi perawat agar dapat memberikan disharge planning dengan baik pada keluarga pasien dalam memberikan dukungan keluarga terhadap pasien pasca perawatan stroke selain itu disharge planning juga diberikan pada pasien untuk dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan semangat hidup yang tinggi sehingga pasien tidak mengalami depresi
