Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Building Construction Approval (PBG) in supporting regional development in Medan City. PBG as a regulatory instrument for building construction in Medan City plays an important role in ensuring orderly, safe, and sustainable development. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, documentation studies, and observations. The results of the study indicate that although PBG makes a significant contribution to the regulation and supervision of development, there are challenges in its implementation, such as limited resources, developer non-compliance, and the complexity of licensing procedures. The recommendations produced include simplifying the licensing process, increasing human resource capacity, stricter law enforcement, and the use of technology for more effective monitoring. With the increased effectiveness of PBG, it is expected to support the development of the Medan City area to be more orderly, safe, and sustainable.

Abstract

The Aek Sijorni Natural Bath in South Tapanuli Regency holds great potential as a regional tourism icon, with its tiered waterfalls and unique natural atmosphere. This study aims to formulate a model for optimizing tourism development based on sustainability, technology, and local community participation. A mixed methods approach was employed. The findings indicate that development of the area should focus on improving basic infrastructure, enhancing cleanliness, and providing additional facilities such as dining areas and recreational zones. Furthermore, strengthening digital promotion and actively involving the local community are proven to be key factors in creating a competitive and sustainable destination. Strategic recommendations are centered on multi-stakeholder collaboration and the use of information technology to generate broader economic and social impacts for the surrounding communities.

Abstract

Environmental infrastructure planning that is effective and appropriate plays an important role in increasing the productivity of fishing communities and supporting sustainable regional development. Kampung Nelayan Seberang Belawan, where the majority of residents depend on the fisheries sector, requires better environmental infrastructure planning to support fishing activities and improve community welfare. This study aims to analyze the existing infrastructure conditions, identify environmental infrastructure needs, and formulate appropriate strategies for environmental infrastructure planning to enhance fishermen's urgent productivity and support regional development. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, interviews, and direct observation. The results show that the current environmental infrastructure is inadequate. Coastal protection infrastructure, such as wave barriers and mangrove planting, is crucial for maintaining environmental resilience and preventing damage caused by abrasion and natural disasters. Proper management of waste and domestic wastewater will also improve environmental quality and public health. The provision of better educational and health facilities will improve the quality of life for fishing communities and create opportunities for a more creative and technologically literate younger generation. This has a positive impact on the environmental infrastructure planning of Kampung Nelayan Seberang in regional development. The planning of environmental infrastructure in Kampung Nelayan Seberang constitutes a strategic key in developing competitive coastal areas. The success of this arrangement greatly depends on multi-party collaboration, sustainable planning, and policy support for marginal areas. By maximizing strengths and opportunities and mitigating weaknesses and threats, this area can grow into an inclusive and productive community.

Abstract

Traditional markets play a central role in the local economic system and the social life of communities, particularly in Medan City. However, the dynamics of urbanization, competition from modern retail, and changes in consumer behavior have posed significant challenges to their sustainability. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the strategic location of traditional markets and their economic performance using a mixed-methods approach and spatial analysis. The research focuses on six traditional markets in Medan City: Petisah Market, Sukaramai Market, Beruang Market, Ikan Lama Market, Sei Sikambing Market, and Pringgan Market. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed descriptively and correlationally, while qualitative data were gathered through field observations and in-depth interviews to interpret the socio-spatial context of each market. The key variables include accessibility, commodity diversity, and environmental comfort, which are linked to economic performance indicators such as visitor numbers, buyer loyalty, and sales stability. The results show that Petisah, Pringgan, and Ikan Lama Markets scored highest in these variables and demonstrated better economic performance. Correlation analysis identified commodity diversity as the most influential factor on economic performance, followed by environmental quality and accessibility. To strengthen the analysis, a SWOT model was also applied to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by traditional markets. This analysis reveals that the primary strengths of the markets lie in their location and social interaction, while the main challenges stem from a lack of modern management and pressure from digital markets. This study recommends development strategies based on local advantages, infrastructure modernization, market information digitalization, and cultural promotion as steps to sustainably enhance the competitiveness of traditional markets amid urban spatial changes.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of providing planting media and eggshell poc in increasing soil fertility on grape plant (vitis vinifera) cuttings in the pre-nursery and their interactions. This research used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 12 treatment combinations and 3 replications so that 36 plots were needed in the study. The first factor examined was the treatment of planting media with the symbol "C" consisting of C0 = 0 kg/ plot, C1 = 1 top soil: 1 rice husk/ plot, C2 = 2 top soil: 1 rice husk/ plot, C3 = 1 top soil: 2 rice husks/plot. Factor II treatment of giving eggshell POC with symbol I consists of I0 = 0 mL/liter of water/plot, I1 = 5 mL/liter of water/plot, I2 = 10 mL/liter of water/plot. The parameters observed were plant height (cm), tendril length (cm), number of leaves (strands), number of stem segments, stem diameter (mm) and number of tendrils. The results of the research showed that the provision of planting media, eggshell liquid organic fertilizer and the second interaction showed an insignificant effect on all parameters, namely plant height (cm), tendril length (cm), number of leaves (strands), number of stem segments, stem diameter ( mm) and number of tendrils. Key words: planting media, eggshell liquid organic fertilizer, grape plants INTISARITujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemberian media tanam dan poc cangkang telur dalam peningkatan kesuburan tanah pada stek tanaman anggur (vitis vinifera) di pre nursery berserta  interaksinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK)  Faktorial terdiri dari 2 faktor dengan 12 kombinasi perlakuan dan 3 ulangan sehingga diperlukan 36 plot dalam penelitian. Faktor yang pertama diteliti adalah perlakuan media tanam dengan simbol “C” terdiri dari C0= 0 kg/ plot, C1 = 1 top soil : 1 sekam padi/plot, C2 = 2 top soil : 1 sekam padi/plot, C3 = 1 top soil : 2 sekam padi/plot. Faktor II perlakuan pemberian POC  cangkang telur dengam simbol I terdiri I0 = 0 mL/liter air/Plot, I1 = 5 mL/liter air/plot, I2 = 10  mL/liter air/plot. Adapun parameter yang diamatin adalah Tinggi Tanaman (cm), panjang sulur  (cm), jumlah daun (helai), jumlah ruas batang, diameter batang (mm) dan jumlah sulur. Hasil  penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian media tanam, pupuk organik cair cangkang telur dan  interaksi kedua menunjukan pengaruh yang tidak nyata pada semua parameter yaitu Tinggi  Tanaman (cm), panjang sulur (cm), jumlah daun (helai), jumlah ruas batang, diameter batang  (mm) dan jumlah sulur. Kata kunci: media tanam, pupuk organik cair cangkang telur, tanaman anggur

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of applying duck manure and liquid organic vegetable fertilizer on the growth and production of tomato plants. This research used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 12 treatment combinations and 3 replications so that 36 plots were required in the study. The first factor examined was the treatment of duck manure with the symbol "K" consisting of K0 = 0 g/polybag, K1 = 500 g/polybag, K2 = 1000 g/polybag, K3 = 1500 g/polybag. Factor II treatment of giving liquid organic vegetable fertilizer with the symbol S consists of S0 = 0 mL/liter of water/plot, S1 = 10 mL/liter of water/plot, S2 = 20 mL/liter of water/plot. The parameters observed were plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm), number of productive branches, number of fruit per sample, weight of fruit per sample (g) and fruit diameter (mm). The results of the research showed that the application of duck dung fertilizer showed a very significant different effect on the parameters of plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm), sample fruit weight (g) and fruit diameter (mm), but showed no significant effect on the parameter of the number of productive branches. , number of fruit per sample, while liquid organic fertilizer for vegetables and the second interaction showed no significant influence on all observation parameters, namely plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm), number of productive branches, number of fruit per sample, weight of fruit per sample (g) and fruit diameter (mm). Key words: duck manure, liquid organic vegetable fertilizer, tomatoes

Abstract

Desa Naman Jahe merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Salapian, Kabupaten Langkat. Desa ini termasuk dalam pantauan pemerintah Kabupaten Langkat karena adanya masalah stunting. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan penulis berkeinginan melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan memberikan suatu pengetahuan kepada masyarakat tentang bagaimana budidaya hidroponik, manfaat hidroponik dan jenis media tanam hidroponik yang dimanfaatkan dari limbah padat tanaman kelapa sawit yaitu tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKS) yang banyak terdapat di sekitar desa. Sosialisasi disampaikan  pada  masyarakat yang tidak memiliki lahan ataupun mempunyai lahan yang tidak luas. Selain dapat menyelesaikan masalah stunting, hidroponik juga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan Masyarakat apabila dilakukan secara berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini yaitu sosialisasi agar pengetahuan yang disampaikan dapat lebih dipahami oleh masyarakat. Dari Kegiatan sosialisasi pemanfaaan TKS ini dilanjutkan dengan pelaksanaan budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik di desa Naman Jahe.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan ekoenzim (EE) yang dihasilkan dari fermentasi limbah hortikultura dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur patogen Candida albicans. Ekoenzim merupakan larutan hasil fermentasi limbah organik, gula, dan air yang mengandung berbagai senyawa bioaktif. Dalam studi ini, digunakan dua jenis campuran limbah hortikultura, masing-masing difermentasi selama 100 hari, dan diuji dengan variasi konsentrasi: murni (1:0), 1:10, 1:50, dan 1:100. Pengujian dilakukan secara in vitro dengan metode difusi cakram. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 1:50 pada Bioz1 memberikan daya hambat tertinggi (7,38 mm), sedangkan Bioz2 menunjukkan hasil optimal pada konsentrasi 1:0 dan variasi konsentrasi adalah 1:10 (6,48 mm). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa ekoenzim memiliki potensi besar sebagai disinfektan alami terhadap jamur patogen. Kesimpulan adalah Ekoenzim berbahan dasar hasil dan limbah pertanian memiliki potensi sebagai agen pengendali hayati terhadap C. Albicans, sebagai solusi pada pengendalian penyakit yang ramah lingkungan sekaligus mengurangi limbah organik sehingga dapat mengatasi pencemaran lingkungan

Abstract

Green deli honey guava (Syzygium aqueum) is a fruit plant that grows in tropical areas. The honey guava plant is popular with many people because it has many health benefits. This research used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two treatments, namely vegetable compost and multi function liquid fertilizer. Vegetable Compost (A) of 4  treatment levels, namely K0 = 0 g/polybag, K1 = 160 g/polybag, K2 = 320 g/polybag, K3 = 480 g/polybag. Multi function liquid fertilizer (K) consists of 3 treatment levels, namely, K0 = 0 ml/ liter of water /plot, K1 = 6 ml/liter of water /plot, K2 = 12 ml/liter of water/plot. That results of this research were that Vegetable Compost and Multi Funcional Liquid Fertilizer had no effect on all observation parameters such as plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf area (cm2), branch length (cm), number of branches (branches), stem diameter (mm). Keywords: green deli honey guava,vVegetable compost, multi funcional liquid fertilizer INTISARIJambu madu deli hijau (Syzygium aqueum) merupakan tanaman buah yang tumbuh di daerah tropis. Tanaman jambu madu digemari banyak orang karena memiliki banyak manfaat bagi kesehatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak kelompoka (RAK) Faktorial dengan dua perlakuan yaitu Kompos Sayuran dan Pupuk Cair Multi Fungsi. Kompos Sayuran teridir dari 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu K0 = 0 g/polybag, K1 = 160 g/polybag, K2 = 320 g/polybag, K3 = 480 g/polybag. Pupuk Cair Multi Fungsi (K) terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan, yaitu, K0 = 0 ml/ liter air/plot, K1 = 6 ml/liter air/plot, K2 = 12 ml/liter air/plot. Hasil penelitian ini Kompos Sayuran dan Pupuk Cair Multi Fungsi tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap semua parameter pengamatan seperti tinggi tanaman (cm), Jjmlah daun (helai), luas daun (cm2), panjang cabang (cm), jumlah cabang (cabang), diameter batang (mm). Kata kunci: jambu madu deli hijau, kompos sayuran, pupuk cair multi fungsi

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the antifungal activity of eco-enzyme (EE) derived from various horticultural organic wastes against Candida albicans. Two formulations were prepared: Bioz1 (pineapple peel, orange, papaya, starfruit, kuini, and mango) and Bioz2 (pineapple, orange, banana corm, noni, and kuini). Both were fermented for 100 days. The antifungal activity was tested in vitro using the disc diffusion method at concentrations of 1:0, 1:10, 1:50, and 1:100 (EE: distilled water). Results indicated that Bioz1 at 1:50 exhibited the highest inhibition zone (7.38 mm, medium category), while Bioz2 at 1:0 showed the strongest activity (8.16 mm, medium category). Dilution at 1:10 in Bioz2 was the most effective concentration for inhibiting fungal growth. These findings highlight the potential use of eco-enzyme as an environmentally friendly natural disinfectant against pathogenic fungi
