Abstract

This study examines the integration management of the Merdeka Curriculum and the Pesantren Curriculum at MA Pondok Pesantren Nurul Islam Bayung Lencir. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, the study was conducted for six months (August 2024-January 2025) through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation analysis. The results of the study indicate that the integration of the two curricula has succeeded in creating a holistic education model that combines 21st-century competencies with traditional pesantren values. Integration management is carried out through careful planning, intensive collaboration between educators, ongoing training, and routine evaluations that result in improved learning quality, strengthening the character of students, and developing resources and infrastructure. Despite facing challenges in aligning learning approaches and balancing competencies, MA Nurul Islam has succeeded in developing an adaptive strategy that prepares students with contemporary skills without sacrificing the depth of religious knowledge and noble morals that are the hallmarks of pesantren.

Abstract

The discussion of waqf has become a trend among academics and practitioners of Islamic economics in Indonesia in the last decade with waqf regulations and great potential. Cash waqf as a productive waqf has great potential to develop long-term Islamic financial investment for the establishment of future waqf banks. A critical issue in the establishment of waqf banks is through academic discussions and debates on how to design the ideal waqf bank organizational structure in Indonesia. Previous research on waqf banks was dominated by regulations, cash waqf, asset waqf and waqf literacy. The research aims to offer a model of the organizational structure of waqf banks in Indonesia in the future. A qualitative method with a grounded theory approach is the ideal conception of a waqf bank. The data was sourced from interviews with micro waqf bank practitioners in Banten province and data analysis with design thinking because it excels in understanding user problems. The study found six models of the ideal organizational structure applied by waqf banks in Indonesia, namely the ad-hoc committee of establishment, form of ownership, shareholders, managers, implementers, deposit guarantee institutions, auditors, and human resource recruitment standards. The research implies that the ideal application of the organizational structure of waqf banks in Indonesia in developing long-term Islamic finance will achieve the principles of sharia, legitimacy and efficiency. Research is conceptually limited and needs to be developed and tested using quantification as a consideration for the establishment of waqf banks in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Micro Waqf Bank (BWM) focuses on financing and business mentoring, and the Community Vocational Training Centre (BLKK) emphasises the development of technical skills, both based in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), share a core value of economic empowerment, but have yet to demonstrate a synergistic pattern in implementing integrated empowerment. The research aims to identify patterns for enhancing the business skills of Micro Waqf Bank clients through the pesantren-based Community Vocational Training Centre. The qualitative research method uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Data were collected from international journals indexed by Scopus, ERA, MyCite, WoS, DOAJ, Google Scholar, and SINTA, published between 2019 and 2025. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis with Evidence-Based Software Engineering (EBSE) techniques. The results identified seven main patterns in improving the business skills of Micro Waqf Bank clients through the pesantren community vocational training centre: initial needs and business potential identification, business training planning, training implementation, business mentoring, access to financing and capital, and strengthening networks and marketing. The research implications highlight the importance of pesantren-based economic empowerment synergy that integrates financing and skills training comprehensively to enhance clients' business independence. The research limitation lies in using a literature review method without empirical field data, making it conceptual and requiring further verification. The research contributes to developing a systematic pattern for business skills improvement as a model for integrated empowerment programmes based in pesantren. Future research should conduct empirical field studies to test this pattern's effectiveness and explore supporting and inhibiting factors.

Abstract

The high rate of mother-to-child HIV transmission requires special attention to help ensure a healthy future generation. VCT screening for pregnant women aims to prevent mother-to-child transmission, especially during childbirth and breastfeeding. The early detection process with Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) aims to determine whether pregnant women are positive or negative for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Compliance with VCT is crucial for early prevention and control of HIV in pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between attitudes and distance from home with pregnant women's compliance with VCT. This research method used an observational study with a retrospective approach. The study was conducted in the Community Health Center “Y” working area with a population of 303 pregnant women. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula with a purposive sampling technique, resulting in 75 pregnant women. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire, and the data analysis method used was the chi-square test. The results showed that 69.3% of mothers underwent VCT testing. There was a relationship between attitude (p 0.0001) and home distance (p 0.0001) with pregnant women's compliance with VCT. The variable that significantly influenced VCT compliance was home distance, with an Exp(B) value or OR of 11.826. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen maternal attitudes by increasing their knowledge about VCT. The government can assist pregnant women by establishing more affordable VCT service facilities that do not endanger their pregnancy in accessing VCT services.
