Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the fertilizer subsidy policy in 2022 and its impact on rice production. The research locations were in three villages, namely Ragung Village, Pacanggaan, Panyirangan, Pangarengan District, Sampang Regency. The number of samples of 30 farmers was taken by the Purposive Sampling Method. The first objective was analyzed using a quantitative descriptive method, while the second objective was with the Cobb Douglass Production Function. The results of the analysis provide an idea that in general, the implementation of fertilizer subsidy policies is in the category of being quite effective. Meanwhile, factors that determine rice production at the research site include: land area, seeds, urea fertilizer, labor and the effectiveness of fertilizer subsidy policies. Improvements that need to be made to increase the effectiveness include: improving the process of preparing the RDKK (Definitive Plan for Group Needs) by increasing the intensity of extension workers in its preparation.

Abstract

Kegiatan pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keberdayaan UKM Permata Samudra yang terletak di Desa Banyusangkah Kecamatan Tanjungbumi Kabupaten Bangkalan.Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2018.Kegiatan pengabdian ini merupakan kerjasama antara PHEWMO, Perhepi Komda Bangkalan, dan Tim Program Studi Agribisnis Universitas Trunojoyo Madura.Pelaksanaan kegiatan pendampingan dilakukan dengan cara: (1) memberikan penyuluhan tentang sanitasi dan higinitas pengolahan produk ikan asin; (2) mendesainkan sarana promosi usaha dengan membuat kemasan ikan asin, leaflet, plang nama UKM dan pelatihan pengemasan; serta (3) penyuluhan pengelolaan administrasi keuangan usaha.

Abstract

Maize is a strategic commodity due to its essential role in food, feed, energy, and industrial raw material supply. The significant role of maize has led to a continual increase in its demand each year. On the other hand, national maize production has declined, resulting in a portion of domestic demand being met through imports. A similar decline in maize production occurred in Larangan Luar Village, Pamekasan Regency. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing maize production, the level of technical efficiency, and the causes of inefficiency in maize farming in Larangan Luar Village. The research location was determined purposively, considering that the area is one of the maize production centers in Pamekasan. The sample consisted of 74 farmers, determined using the Slovin formula and selected through a random sampling method. The primary data used in this study were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire. The research was conducted from September to December 2024. The research objectives were analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas Stochastic Frontier production function approach. Based on the analysis, variables that positively affect maize production are land area, seeds, and phonska fertilizer, while urea fertilizer has an adverse effect. The average level of technical efficiency among maize farmers is relatively low. The factors causing inefficiency are age and education. In light of the research findings, it is recommended that maize farmers adopt intercropping practices, enhance their knowledge of proper cultivation techniques, optimize the use of seeds and phonska fertilizer, and minimize reliance on urea fertilizer.
