Abstract

This study aims to examine the role and contribution of transformational leadership in enhancing teachers’ work motivation, particularly in the context of primary education. Using a scoping review approach, this study synthesizes empirical research published between 2020 and 2025, focusing on the relationship between principals’ transformational leadership practices and teacher motivation. The data were collected from open-access academic databases, including Science Direct, Google Scholar, and Open Knowledge Maps, using the keywords “transformational leadership” and “teacher work motivation.” The review identified seven relevant empirical studies that consistently demonstrate a positive and significant influence of transformational leadership on teachers’ motivation and performance. The analysis highlights four key dimensions of transformational leadership that contribute to improving teacher motivation: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. Effective principals inspire teachers through vision, emotional engagement, intellectual encouragement, and personal attention, thereby fostering professional growth and organizational commitment. The findings emphasize that the better the implementation of transformational leadership, the higher the teachers’ motivation and work satisfaction, ultimately improving school effectiveness and educational outcomes.

Abstract

Data from the Ministry of Education and Culture show that the prevalence of autistic children in Indonesia is continuously increasing, with about 1 in 100 children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). According to data from the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2023, approximately 70% of these children face challenges in social and communication aspects, which require specific and targeted educational interventions. This research aims to examine the transformation of vocational education at SLB Bina Anggita Yogyakarta as a best practice in enhancing the work independence of autistic children. The Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection reports 2.4 million cases of autism in Indonesia with a continuously rising prevalence. Data show that children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) need specialized educational interventions to address their social and communication challenges. Inclusive education programs aim to improve access to and the quality of education, but there is still a need to enhance facilities and resources. This study employs a qualitative approach. Data collection is conducted through in-depth interviews and document analysis, with data validation using a triangulation model, which involves comparing information from different sources and cross-referencing it with data obtained from document reviews. The study's findings indicate that approaches tailored to the individual needs of autistic children are effective in improving their practical skills and job readiness, as well as boosting their confidence. In summary, while significant progress has been made, ongoing efforts are required to develop policies, train teachers, and improve facilities to achieve optimal outcomes in vocational education for autistic children. It is crucial to ensure that autistic children have equal opportunities for success in the workforce and can contribute positively to society.

Abstract

_________________________________________________________________________________ Character building is the most important task for educational institutions. Reality shows that there are still many problems in character building of students in schools. This study aims to reveal the phenomenon of character strengthening programs in schools. Through a qualitative approach with a case study method, this study attempts to explore in depth the experiences and perspectives of participants related to the phenomenon being studied. Data collection was carried out through direct observation in the research environment and in-depth interviews with seven students and three class teachers who were selected purposively. To ensure data validity, a member checking technique was used by asking for confirmation from participants regarding the accuracy of the researcher's interpretation of the findings obtained. Data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model that includes three main stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis process was carried out continuously until data saturation was obtained, so that the findings produced could represent the phenomenon comprehensively. The results of the study showed that achieving students' character values requires various strategies. First, there needs to be clear and consistent rules. Second, a religious approach can be a means to train students' character. In addition, the formation of active posts in each class also has a positive impact on student discipline. Discipline messages need to be delivered through certain areas around the school that are managed alternately by each class, so that students are involved in the process. Monitoring of student discipline can be done through synergy between the school, parents, and the community.
