Abstract

Water quality based on plankton and benthic organism as bio-indicators  in Senapelan,  Sago and Sail Rivers at  Pekanbaru  city  were  investigated  on  April  -   August  2003.  Survey  method  with  purposive  random sampling  at 7  sampling  point  was  used  in the research.  Various  parameters  such  as saprobe  coefficient indexes,  plankton  and benthic  diversity  and also  bio-indexes  benthic  organism  were observed   Final results had  shown that saprobe indexes plankton between -  0,85   until   +  1,00. While diversity indexes benthic organism  between  0,1 16  -   1,335  and  bio-indexes  benthic  between  1  until  5.  Based  on  the  criterion expressed  that water quality of biology  in Senapelan,  Sago and Sail Rivers at Pekanbaru city were middle until heavily polluted.   Key  words : Biology Quality, Plank tonic, Benthic

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Do research on the effectiveness of the addition of chitosan mengetaui shells on the quality of salted mackerel (Rastrelliger sp) to draft a student worksheet that was conducted in April and May 2016. The study was carried out by two phases: the field research and resistant design student worksheet (LKS ). Research experiments were conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial, consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replicates in order to obtain 15 units of the experimental design. The observed parameters including moisture content, protein content, fat content and organoleptic value which include appearance, aroma, taste and texture. The results showed that the addition of shrimp shell chitosan significant effect on water content, protein content and fat content in the salted mackerel (Rastrelliger sp). Where to lower the moisture content of up to 9.545%, fat content up to 1,543% and can also increase the protein content of up to 48.905%. While hendonik organoleptic test appearance and taste of the most favored panelist on the addition of 3% chitosan concentration, aroma on chitosan 2% and while the texture preferred chitosan panelist at 4%. Results from the study are used as a design student worksheet (LKS) on the subjects of biology in high school. Key words: Chitosan, Salted Mackerel Fish, Student Worksheet.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of reseach was to determine of the eggs of various types of parasitic nematode worms found in vegetables in February and May 2015. The study was conducted with namely the identification of various types of nematode eggs using a survey method. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. The parameters observed in this study are various types of nematode worm eggs rich in vegetable lettuce (Lactuca sativa), basil (Ocimum basilicum L) and cabbage (Brassica oleracea). The results showed that nematode worm eggs found in vegetables lettuce (Lactuca sativa) is Trichuris trichiura and Necator americanus, basil (Ocimum basilicum L) was found on the eggs Ancylostoma duodenale and cabbage (Brassica oleracea) found eggs of Ascaris lumbricoides. Keywords: Nematode worm eggs, Lettuce (Lactuca sativa), Basil (Ocimum basilicum L), Cabbage (Brassica oleracea)

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness addition of chitosan shells on the shelf life of salted fish cork (Ophiocephalus striatus) in February and May 2015. The results are used to develop the concept of learning modules on the subjects of food biotechnology Biotechnology. This research was carried out by two phases: the field of research and development phase of learning modules. Research conducted experiments using completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial, which consists of 4 treatments and 3 replicates in order to obtain 12 experimental design. If there is a real test there will be a further test DMRT. The parameters observed water content, protein content, fat content, organoleptic color, aroma and texture. The results showed that administration of chitosan have a significant effect on water content, protein content and fat content in cork salted fish (Ophiocephalus striatus). Chitosan concentration of 2% is the best concentration. Where to lower the water content of 23.11%, amounting to 0.182% fat content can also increase the protein content of 60.95%. While the color and aroma of salted fish most preferred cork panelist in the treatment of 1.5% while the texture of the panelists preferred the treatment of 1%. Results of the study can be used as a learning module that is in the food preservative materials on subjects Biotechnology. Keywords: Chitosan, Salted fish Cork, Learning Module.

Abstract

Research has been conducted to determine the concentration of Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) heavy metals in water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) in the Indragiri River Waters of Indragiri Hilir Regency in May-July 2016. Determination of the research station was carried out by purposive random sampling by considering environmental conditions based on community activities around the river and the existence of Eichhornia crassipes. The main parameters in this study include the concentration of heavy metals Pb and Cd in river water, sediments and Eichhornia crassipes, and physico-chemical parameters as supporting parameters. The results showed that the average concentration of Pb heavy metals in river water was 0.276 ppm and Cd was 0.126 ppm. The average concentration of heavy metals Pb in sediments was 4.61 ppm and Cd of 0.75 ppm. The accumulation of Pb and Cd Eichhornia crassipest heavy metals is included in the low category, namely the average concentration of Pb heavy metals in the root organ is 3.02 ppm, on the leaf stalk 2.61 ppm, and on the leaves 2.09 ppm. The concentration of heavy metal Cd at the root was 0.47 ppm, at the leaf stalk 0.39 ppm, and at the leaves 0.362 ppm

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to determine the diversity of insects in lowland rice farming in Bungaraya Village, Siak Regency as a biology pocket book design for class X SMA. The study was carried out in lowland rice farming in Bungaraya Village for insect sampling. Meanwhile, insect identification was carried out at the Laboratory of the Biology Education Study Program, Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, FKIP, Riau University. This research was conducted in October - November 2021. This research consisted of two stages, namely identification and analysis of insect diversity, the second stage was the design of a pocket book. Parameters measured in this study were insect species composition, insect diversity index, air temperature, humidity, and light intensity. The results showed that the diversity of insects at rice planting age had different diversity. Insect diversity at stations I, II, and III was moderate. The diversity index value at 30 days of rice planting age was 1.87, 60 days of rice planting age was 1.58, and 90 days of rice planting age was 1.55. The types of insects found in lowland rice Oryza sativa Kampung Bungaraya consisted of 5 orders, namely Odonata, Orthoptera, Coleoptera, Hemiptera, and Lepidoptera. The results of the study can be used as an alternative source of learning in the form of a pocket book for learning biology in high school.Key Words: Insect, Arthropoda, Pocket Book, Bungaraya

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kemandirian mahasiswa melalui pemberian lembar kerja mahasiswa berbasis pertanyaan “PITA” (Produktif, Imajinatif, Terbuka, dan Analisis). Penelitian dilakukan di FKIP Universitas Riau (Program Studi PPKn dan Program Studi Biologi). Penelitian dilakukan pada matakuliah Ilmu Lingkungan dan Mitigasi Bencana, selama bulan Maret-April 2022. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan e-kuesioner (google form) dan pedoman wawancara. E-kuesioner (google form) yang digunakan melalui summative response scale, dengan menggunakan skala Likert yang dimodifikasi dengan 4 pilihan jawaban. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa penerapan LKM berbasis pertanyaan “PITA” (Produktif, Imajinatif, Terbuka, dan Analisis) berdampak pada peningkatan kemandirian mahasiswa pada matakuliah Ilmu Lingkungan dan Mitigasi Bencana sebesar 90% (prodi biologi) dan 87% (prodi PPKn). Indikator yang dominan berkembang adalah regulasi diri, sebesar 92% (prodi biologi) dan 90% (prodi PPKn). Peningkatan kemandirian mahasiswa disebabkan adanya panduan pertanyaan yang mampu menstimulus mahasiswa dalam belajar secara mandiri.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to determine the diversity ofdecomposer insects at the Muara Fajar Final Disposal Site (TPA) of West RumbaiDistrict, Pekanbaru City as a biology pocket book design for class X SMA. Decomposerinsects were sampled using purposive random sampling. As for the identification ofinsects, it was carried out at the Laboratory of the Biology Education Study Program,the PMIPA FKIP Department, Riau University. Parameters measured were speciescomposition, diversity index, and dominance index of decomposer insects. While thephysical-chemical parameters include the degree of acidity (pH), soil temperature, soilmoisture, and light intensity. The data were analyzed descriptively, with the result thatthe composition of the decomposer insects found at the Muara Fajar Final DisposalSite, West Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City consisted of 7 orders, 13 families, 20species with a total of 3103 individuals. Meanwhile, the diversity index of decomposerinsect species was moderate with index values ranging from 1 to 3. The highest diversityindex was found at station II (H'=2.447), and the lowest at station III (H'=2.078). Theresults of the research were used as a design pocket book for class X high schoolbiology learning to enrich learning resources on biodiversity material.Key Words : Decomposer Insects, Pocket Books, Muara Fajar Final Disposal Site (TPA)

Abstract

Abstract: Research has been carried out which aims to determine the types of butterflies in the Riau University campus area. The research was conducted at the mini stadium orchard, Fisip orchard and Faperta orchard in August-September 2022. Sampling was carried out using an insec net. Then the butterflies that were caught were put into temporary storage bottles to be identified. The results of the research on the diversity of butterfly species in the Riau University area were then developed into posters that were used as learning resources. Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted in May - June 2022 with the aim of knowing the bivalve community structure in the mangrove area of Tanah Merah Village for the design of handouts as biology teaching materials for class X. This research was carried out in the mangrove area of Tanah Merah Village for bivalve sampling while for identification of bivalves carried out at the Laboratory of the Biology Education Study Program, PMIPA FKIP Department, Riau University. The parameters measured in this study were species composition, abundance, diversity, dominance, temperature, salinity, pH, sediment type, and organic matter. The research method used was a survey method, where sampling samples used the squared transect method. At the study site, 3 (three) observation stations were determined, three transects were drawn at each station, where each transect was placed in a 5m x 5m square plot. Based on the research results, 3 species of bivalves were found, namely Anadara granosa Phapia textile, and Geloma erosa. Bivalve abundance values obtained between stations ranged from 0.57-0.89 ind/m2. The index value of species diversity ranges from 0.68-1.51, which is classified as moderate and the dominance index value ranges from 0.37-0.71. The results of the study can be used as an alternative teaching material in the form of handouts in class X high school biology learning.Key Word : Bivalve, Handout, Structure Community
