Abstract

Background: Stunting is still one of the focuses of health problems in the world.Stunting is caused by many factors, including access to sanitation. Inadequate access to sanitation can cause infectious diseases that impair nutritional absorption intoddlers during digestion, leading to stunting. Objective: This study examines theconnection between sanitation access and stunting in East Nusa Tenggara Provincealong with its confounding variables consisting of access to drinking water, toddlerage, gender, and residence. Method: The study design was cross-sectional with asample size of 4,224 children aged 0-59 months analyzed from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (IHS) data. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (ChiSquare test), and multivariate (multiple logistic regression analyses with a risk factormodel). Results: Studies showed households with inadequate sanitation access canincrease the risk of stunting by 1.56 compared to those with adequate sanitation access. Other factors significantly associated with stunting included toddler age, gender, and residence. The problem of access to sanitation is related to residence anddefecation behavior. Conclusion: Increasing indiscriminate defecation behavior canincrease exposure to pathogens from feces which can cause diseases such as diarrhea, resulting in malnutrition and stunted growth. To reduce stunting in East NusaTenggara Province, the government is suggested to enhance programs to expandaccess to sanitation, especially in rural areas.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of time flexibility in the implementation of online-based learning on student academic performance in the Management Study Program, State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU). This study adopts a quantitative approach as the main method. Data collection instruments in the form of questionnaires were distributed to active students as respondents. The data obtained were then analyzed using simple linear regression techniques to illustrate the relationship between the level of flexibility of study time and student academic achievement. The results of the analysis show that the flexibility of study time has no significant effect on student learning outcomes, with a significance value of 0.315 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.027. This finding indicates that flexibility of study time is not enough to improve learning outcomes without being supported by time management skills, discipline, and learning independence. Therefore, effective online learning strategies need to be accompanied by soft skills training so that learning outcomes can be optimized. Future research is expected to integrate mediating variables such as self-regulated learning, learning motivation, and quality of learning environment to gain a deeper understanding of the determinants in the context of online learning.

Abstract

This study was conducted to understand the relationship between the suitability of product quality and influencer advertising by Tasya Farasya on consumer satisfaction with skincare products. A quantitative approach was used, employing the Chi-Square test method to examine the significance of the relationship between two categorical variables: product quality suitability (suitable or not suitable) and consumer satisfaction (satisfied or not satisfied). The primary data was obtained through a survey distributed to 30 consumers of skincare products who follow influencer Tasya Farasya on social media. The analysis results show a strong correlation between product quality suitability and the level of consumer satisfaction. When the product quality meets expectations, consumers tend to experience higher satisfaction. The Chi-Square test resulted in a significance value of 0.004, which is lower than 0.05, indicating a significant effect. Both variables show a notable relationship. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the quality of products promoted by influencers plays an important role in shaping consumer perception, and consumer satisfaction is influenced by the quality of the skincare products they use.

Abstract

Introduction: Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) practices among female students in Indonesia remain low (35.9%), increasing the risk of urinary tract and reproductive infections. While access to water is commonly studied in relation to MHM, few studies in Southeast Asia have examined how the sensory quality of water (organoleptic properties) influences hygiene behaviors. This study addresses that gap by analyzing the relationship between organoleptic water quality and MHM in schools among female students in Batanghari Regency. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 342 female students from 93 secondary schools in Batanghari Regency. Data were analyzed using chi-square test and binary logistic regression. Results: Although 60.5% of female students attended schools with good organoleptic water quality, only 36.5% practiced good MHM at school. MHM at schools were associated with organoleptic water quality; water availability; soap availability; availability of safe toilets; availability of closed waste bins, parental support; teacher support; friend support; maternal education, paternal education, and knowledge. Furthermore, a significant relationship was found between organoleptic water quality interacting with availability of safe toilets for MHM after controlling for confounding variables (AOR: 3.987-26.710). Conclusion: Good MHM practices among female students are low. Schools and authorities should improve WASH facilities, protect water sources, and ensure toilets safety. Communication channels should allow students to report issues promptly. Teacher training on menstrual health should be prioritized, and menstrual health education should be integrated into the curriculum to improve knowledge, reduce stigma, and empower female students.
