Background of the study: One of the important roles of libraries is to build a knowledge-based society ecosystem by making libraries an open interaction space through a library transformation strategy based on social inclusion. Purpose: The study was designed to investigate the issues associated with retooling and re-skilling cataloguing librarians in the digital era. Method: The design used is a qualitative analysis based on a detailed case study of the impact of the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program on Community Welfare in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Findings: The core impact of the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program is summarized by five objectives: enhancing access to information (via digitalization/literacy), fostering community skills development (via targeted training), reducing unemployment rates (via job skills/entrepreneurship), promoting social participation (via community engagement), and improving the local economy (via business development/creative economy). Conclusion: Through the programs implemented, libraries can strengthen their role as public libraries in improving the quality of human resources, so that community literacy skills increase, enabling them to play a more active role in sustainable development and achieving the goals set out in the SDGs.

The development of automation technology and artificial intelligence has brought significant changes to library service systems, particularly in improving the efficiency and speed of information access. However, the dominance of technology has also raised concerns about the decreasing human dimension in librarians’ services. This article examines how librarians can maintain their human-centered roles amidst the implementation of library automation through an analysis of national and international literature published over the past five years. The findings show that automation and artificial intelligence do not replace the role of librarians; instead, they transform it into more strategic functions such as information literacy facilitation, user assistance, and the preservation of ethical values in library services. The concept of humanizing technology is therefore essential to ensure that technology remains integrated with human values so that library services are not only efficient but also user-oriented.

Librarians’ use of Instagram has the potential to enhance community information literacy, yet its effectiveness in the context of regional public libraries has not been widely examined empirically. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of librarians’ use of Instagram in improving community information literacy at the Solok Regency Public Library. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed, with the population consisting of community members who follow the Instagram account of the Solok Regency Public Library and a sample selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a closed Likert-scale questionnaire measuring librarians’ use of Instagram and the level of community information literacy, and were then analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics through simple linear regression. The results showed that librarians’ use of Instagram was in the good category and had a significant effect on community information literacy, as reflected in the increased ability of community members to identify their information needs and to search for, evaluate, and use information effectively. These findings affirm that improving the quality of content, interactivity, and consistency in managing the library’s Instagram account constitutes an effective strategy for strengthening community information literacy. This study provides practical implications for public libraries in optimising the use of social media as a means of enhancing information literacy and user education services.

This study aimed to identify differences in students’ information literacy levels between schools that have librarians and those that do not. A quantitative approach with a comparative design was employed, conducted at SMAN 1 Kubung as a school with a librarian and SMAN 1 Junjung Sirih as a school without a librarian. The research population comprised all students in both schools, with the sample determined using proportionate stratified random sampling. The research instrument was an information literacy questionnaire measuring the ability to recognise information needs, search for information, evaluate sources, and use information ethically. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics through an independent t-test to compare the information literacy levels between the two groups of students. The results showed a significant difference in students’ information literacy levels, with students in the school that has a librarian demonstrating higher levels of information literacy than those in the school without a librarian. These findings indicate that the presence of a librarian in schools plays an important role in supporting the development of students’ information literacy and is expected to serve as a consideration for schools and policymakers in improving the quality of school library services.

INLISLite is one of the library automation systems widely used in Indonesia to improve the efficiency of library materials processing and to support modern library services; therefore, its use plays an important role in enhancing the accuracy of collection data and the speed of service delivery. This study aimed to analyze the use of INLISLite in library materials processing at the Library and Archives Office of Tanah Datar Regency based on a literature review. The study employed a literature review of two relevant journal articles published between 2021 and 2023, using content analysis to identify patterns of use, constraints, and the effectiveness of INLISLite in collection management. The findings indicate that INLISLite can improve the efficiency of collection processing, circulation services, and membership management in a faster and more organized manner. The main constraints identified include limited system updates, network integration issues, and librarians’ technical capacity, while training implementation and institutional support were shown to facilitate the optimization of system use. Overall, the study concludes that INLISLite contributes significantly to improving the quality of library materials processing and library services at the Library and Archives Office of Tanah Datar Regency, and it underscores the importance of strengthening technological infrastructure and enhancing human resource competencies to ensure the sustainability of optimal library automation system use.

This research is motivated by the massive use of artificial intelligence, specifically ChatGPT, among students. Although offering efficiency, concerns arise regarding its impact on students' belief in their own capabilities (self-efficacy). This study aims to measure the influence of ChatGPT usage on the self-efficacy of students in the Library and Information Science Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. This is a quantitative descriptive study with a population of 91 students from the class of 2021, and a sample of 75 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis used simple linear regression. The results showed a positive and significant influence of ChatGPT usage on self-efficacy with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and t-count (5.566) > t-table (1.665). The contribution of influence (R Square) is 29.8%, while 70.2% is influenced by other factors. It is concluded that appropriate use of ChatGPT can support the increase of students' self-confidence.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how SMKN 1 Baso uses the school library as a learning resource. This study uses a descriptive methodology and is quantitative in nature. Perka No. 12 of 2017 concerning National Standards for Upper Middle School Libraries is the theory that was utilized to develop the indicators in this research. It contains five indicators that school libraries need to meet in order to become centers of learning for students. One hundred pupils from SMK Negeri 1 Baso served as samples for the investigation. The school library at SMK Negeri 1 Baso will be the research's outcome, and it will be based on the National High School Library Standard Number 12 of 2017, which has five indications, including: 1) Library Collection Indicator with a value of 2.58 categorized as Not Appropriate, 2) The Library Infrastructure Indicator with a value of 2.17 is categorized as Not Appropriate, 3) The library service indicator with a value of 2.83 is categorized as Sufficient, 3) The Library Personnel Indicator with a value of 2.32 is categorized as Not Appropriate, 4) The Technology Indicator Information and Communication with a value of 2.70 is categorized as Fair, so it can be concluded that the school library research variable has a total average value of 2.54, This indicates that the value is within the interval scale range of 1.8 < X ≤ 2,6 which means it can be classified into the not optimal/not good category.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi informasi pustakawan di Universitas Negeri Padang dengan standar membaca perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini merupakan pengetahuan 5 orang dari Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Informasi tahun 2018. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi pegawai yang menggunakan literasi informasi untuk perguruan tinggi secara umum baik karena sebagian besar mengikuti literasi informasi. Hal ini terlihat dari gambaran penyajiannya, yaitu: (1) Siswa dapat mengenali informasi penting, terlihat bahwa siswa memahami atau mengetahui informasi yang dibutuhkan, (2) Siswa dapat memperoleh informasi yang dibutuhkan. informasi yang mereka butuhkan dengan baik dan efektif, (3) Siswa dapat menganalisis informasi dan sumber informasi dengan cermat dan dapat memasukkan beberapa informasi ke dalam pengetahuan dan manfaat yang ada, (4) Siswa dapat menggunakan atau memanfaatkan informasi dengan baik. mencapai tujuan tertentu, melalui penelitian, banyak mahasiswa yang memilih untuk menggunakan dan menggunakan informasi, (5) Mahasiswa dapat memahami aspek ekonomi, hukum dan sosial dari penggunaan informasi serta memiliki kemampuan untuk mengakses dan menggunakan informasi secara etis dan legal. Ngomongngomong, dari hasil penelitian, mahasiswa sudah memiliki pemahaman yang utuh tentang masalah plagiarisme, mereka tahu bagaimana melaporkan dan menghargai karya orang lain dengan mencari informasi di situs resmi. Penelitian ini harus memungkinkan siswa untuk mengeksplorasi keterampilan literasi informasi dalam kemampuan untuk mengenali informasi penting di masa depan.

Perkembangan teknologi menimbulkan dampak yang besar dalam kehidupan manusia khususnya pada kegiatan pencarian infor- masi yang semula berbasis tradisional menjadi digital. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pola perilaku pencarian informasi generasi Z berperspektif Ellisian. Jenis penelitian adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan mewawancarai tiga (3) orang informan yang berasal dari mahasiswa angkatan 2018 Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Ilmu Informasi, Universitas Negeri Pa- dang. Dari hasil penelitian dinyatakan bahwa pola perilaku pencarian informasi generasi Z cenderung menggunakan sumber elektronik daripada sumber tercetak. Adapun alasan penggunaan sumber elektronik (google) dalam pencarian informasi adalah mu- dah dan cepat. Pada saat penelusuran informasi, mereka mencarinya menggunakan kata kunci yang sudah dirancang terkait den- gan topik yang dibutuhkan. Untuk merancang kata kunci mereka biasanya tidak menggunakan rujukan atau referensi tetapi ber- dasarkan pemahaman masing-masing. Setelah melakukan pencarian dengan merawak, informan mengumpulkan semua hasil pencarian dan setelah itu baru di seleksi kembali berdasarkan kevaliditasan dan kebaharuannya. Namun untuk aspek kebaharuan, rata-rata informan sepakat untuk tidak mempertimbangkannya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka rekomendasi ditujukan kepada generasi Z untuk lebih bijak dalam memilih dan menggunakan informasi terutama yang berasal dari sumber-sumber elektronik dan mempertimbangkan aspek validitas serta kebaharuan sehingga kebutuhan informasinya terpenuhi dengan baik.

Peringatan 1 Muharram merupakan momen penting dalam kalender Islam yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai keagamaan sejak dini. Dalam kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) di Nagari Dilam, Kecamatan Bukit Sundi, Kabupaten Solok, peringatan 1 Muharram diwujudkan dalam bentuk tiga jenis lomba keagamaan: lomba ranking 1, lomba adzan, dan lomba tahfidz. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan semangat religius anak-anak serta membentuk karakter positif melalui media kompetisi edukatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, yang dilakukan melalui observasi dan dokumentasi langsung di lapangan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta sangat antusias mengikuti perlombaan, dan kegiatan ini mampu meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, pengetahuan agama, serta dukungan orang tua dalam pembinaan spiritual anak. Kegiatan ini juga mempererat hubungan sosial di masyarakat dan dapat dijadikan sebagai model pendidikan karakter berbasis keagamaan di tingkat lokal.
