Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of minimum wages and inflation on employment opportunities in the manufacturing sector in Gowa Regency from 2014 to 2023. Using a quantitative approach and multiple linear regression analysis, this research examines the influence of minimum wages and inflation as independent variables on employment opportunities as the dependent variable. Secondary data were sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and related institutions. The results reveal that minimum wages have a positive and significant effect on employment opportunities, supporting the efficiency wage theory, where wage increases drive higher labor productivity and employment absorption. Conversely, inflation does not significantly influence employment opportunities, indicating that other factors, such as investment and regional economic growth, may have a stronger impact. The findings highlight the importance of well-designed minimum wage policies in enhancing job opportunities, particularly when supported by improved workforce quality. Policymakers are advised to ensure that wage policies align with local economic conditions and are complemented by programs that enhance worker skills and productivity. Furthermore, addressing other determinants, such as investment and fiscal policies, is essential for fostering sustainable employment growth in the manufacturing sector. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of regional labor market dynamics and provides practical insights for local governments to drive economic development and create quality employment opportunities.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of motivation, organizational culture, and leadership style on employee performance within the context of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk Witel Makassar. The objective is to understand how these human resource factors interact to shape individual productivity in a state-owned enterprise operating in a competitive and technologically dynamic sector. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to 92 employees, and analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the significance and strength of the relationships among variables. The results reveal that motivation has the most substantial and statistically significant impact on employee performance, followed by organizational culture, while leadership style contributes positively but with weaker statistical relevance. These findings affirm that a performance management system centered on motivational drivers and culturally aligned practices can generate higher productivity and job satisfaction. The study also highlights the importance of leadership behaviors that support communal values, especially in the Indonesian context. Overall, this research contributes to the growing literature on strategic human resource management by offering empirical insights relevant to Southeast Asian enterprises. It emphasizes the need for integrated and context-sensitive HR practices to enhance employee outcomes in service-based industries.

Abstract

This study examines the association between training perceptions and employee performance in a social forestry administration in Indonesia. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey was conducted at the Balai Perhutanan Sosial dan Kemitraan Lingkungan Sulawesi, Section One, Bili-Bili, Gowa, involving all forty employees who had participated in formal training programs. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and supported by brief interviews and document review. Results indicate generally favorable perceptions of training and high self-reported performance levels. Regression analysis shows a strong positive correlation between training and performance, suggesting that well-delivered and relevant training is associated with higher perceived effectiveness, timeliness, and initiative. However, as the data are cross-sectional and self-reported from a single organization, causality cannot be inferred. The findings are preliminary and should be interpreted as indicative rather than conclusive. They highlight potential areas for further investigation on how communicative instruction, relevant materials, and interactive methods contribute to improved workplace outcomes. Future research employing longitudinal and multi-source designs is needed to verify these relationships and support evidence-based policy development in public sector training.

Abstract

This study examines the role of digitalization in improving the business performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Makassar City, Indonesia. Specifically, it analyzes the effects of digital marketing, e-commerce usage, and digital payment adoption on sales growth, operational efficiency, and market expansion. The research employed a quantitative cross-sectional survey design using purposive sampling, involving 110 MSME owners and managers who had adopted at least one digital tool. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that all three digitalization variables significantly and positively influence MSME performance. The regression model demonstrates strong explanatory power, with an R² value of 0.568, meaning that 56.8 percent of the variance in business performance is explained by the digitalization variables. Among the predictors, digital marketing shows the strongest effect, followed by e-commerce usage and digital payment systems. These findings highlight the central role of digital marketing in enhancing visibility, customer engagement, and competitive positioning in urban markets. Despite these positive effects, several barriers constrain the full realization of digital benefits, including low digital literacy, limited internet infrastructure, and high promotional costs. These challenges suggest that digital transformation requires not only technology adoption but also ecosystem support. Practically, the study recommends targeted digital literacy training, improved infrastructure investment, and financial incentives to reduce promotional costs and support sustainable MSME digital transformation in urban Indonesia.
