Abstract

Terumbu karang merupakan ekosistem laut yang penting secara ekologis dan ekonomis. Fungsinya mencakup habitat biota laut, perlindungan pantai dari erosi, serta mendukung sektor perikanan dan pariwisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan dampak pada aktivitas masyarakat terhadap ekosistem terumbu karang di Perairan Pesisir Leato Selatan, Kecamatan Dumbo Raya, Provinsi Gorontalo. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif melalui survei lapangan, wawancara, dan analisis data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas masyarakat, seperti pembuangan limbah domestik, penangkapan ikan destruktif, dan pembangunan infrastruktur tidak terencana, memberikan tekanan besar terhadap terumbu karang. Kondisi tutupan karang hidup berada pada kategori sedang (38,69%) dan terus menghadapi ancaman peningkatan sedimentasi serta pencemaran udara.

Abstract

Agroforestry is a land-use system that integrates trees, crops, and livestock to improve sustainability and resilience in agricultural practices. This research aimed to determine the composition of plant species in the White Teak Agroforestry, the utilization of plants and the conservation status of plant species in the White Teak agroforestry system. Quantitative approach was applied with plant data collection carried out by tracing the research location and observing all existing plant species accompanied by taking pictures using a digital camera. The results of the study indicate that the agroforestry system has significant potential in supporting environmental sustainability and community welfare. The results revealed there were 33 plant species found in the agroforestry, 23 of them were plants that distributed across various regions in Indonesia and 14 are classified as Least Concern by the IUCN Red List.

Abstract

The practice of agroforestry in the Gunung Damar area, managed by the local community, is based on knowledge passed down through generations. The survival of agroforestry systems in the tropics, including the Gunung Damar agroforestry system, is due to the experience inherited from generation to generation. This accumulated experience shapes the knowledge of the people around Mount Damar in determining how to utilize agroforestry. This study aims to identify how community knowledge is applied in the use of plants for food and medicinal purposes in the Gunung Damar agroforestry garden. The data was collected through surveys and focus group discussions (FGDs), while data analysis was conducted using the Importance Value Index (LUVI). The results showed that 16 plant species were identified for medicinal use, and 10 plant species as food sources in the Gunung Damar agroforestry system. Four medicinal plants with the highest LUVI indices were Myristica fragrans (0.57), Zingiber officinale (0.46), Curcuma longa (0.46), and Cinnamomum verum (0.41). Meanwhile, the food sources with the highest indices were Arenga pinnata (3.16), Syzygium aromaticum (2.26), and Aleurites moluccana (0.90)

Abstract

The mola-mola fish (Mola spp.), or ocean sunfish, is the largest bony fish species in the world, playing a crucial role in marine ecosystems and holding high economic value as an underwater tourism attraction. However, this species faces various threats, such as bycatch, marine pollution, and climate change, which affect its distribution and reproduction. This study aims to analyze public perceptions of mola-mola conservation through a review of literature and social media data. The study involved an analysis of scientific literature using VOSviewer and the collection of social media data, particularly on TikTok, using a web scraper. Sentiment analysis was performed using a machine learning method based on Support Vector Machine (SVM). The results indicate that public perception is dominated by positive sentiment (45%) regarding the unique appeal of mola-mola, although negative sentiment (30%) persists due to a lack of public knowledge about the importance of conservation. This study highlights the need for sustainable habitat management and community-based collaboration to increase conservation awareness. The findings emphasize that public education and collaboration between the government, scientists, and local communities are essential to reduce threats to mola-mola, including the impacts of climate change and illegal fishing. This research underscores that community-based strategies and multidisciplinary approaches can enhance the effectiveness of mola-mola conservation and ensure the sustainability of marine ecosystems in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of per capita income on poverty levels in Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. The regency faces challenges in reducing poverty despite various government programs. The knowledge gap regarding the direct contribution of per capita income to poverty is the focus of this research. Here, we demonstrate that an increase in per capita income has a negative correlation with poverty levels, where each rise in income is associated with a significant reduction in poverty percentage. However, the study also found that population growth significantly increases poverty if not accompanied by improvements in economic and social infrastructure. The findings of this research imply that economic policies aimed at increasing income must be supported by improvements in access to education, healthcare, and infrastructure to more effectively reduce poverty rates in the region. Future research is expected to deepen the analysis of other factors that influence poverty more comprehensively

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis dampak permasalahan lingkungan yang timbul dari pengelolaan wisata di Pantai Kaisomaru, Gorontalo. Dengan meningkatnya jumlah pengunjung, tantangan lingkungan seperti penumpukan sampah, kerusakan terumbu karang, dan abrasi pantai semakin mendesak untuk ditangani. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan yang tidak memadai menyebabkan akumulasi sampah, yang mengancam ekosistem pesisir dan kesehatan biota laut. Selain itu, aktivitas snorkeling dan diving yang tidak terkontrol berpotensi merusak terumbu karang, sedangkan pembangunan infrastruktur wisata memperburuk abrasi pantai. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya kebijakan pengelolaan pariwisata yang berkelanjutan untuk melindungi lingkungan sambil tetap memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi masyarakat lokal. Diharapkan kolaborasi antara pemerintah, komunitas, dan sektor swasta dapat mendorong pengembangan Pantai Kaisomaru sebagai destinasi ekowisata yang seimbang.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of income levels on the number of poor people in Gorontalo City, which, despite experiencing economic growth, still faces significant poverty issues. Gorontalo City heavily relies on the agriculture and fisheries sectors, which are vulnerable to climate change and market fluctuations, causing the income of the majority of its population to remain low and unstable. Previous studies have shown that although income has increased, high social and economic disparities have exacerbated poverty. In this study, we used simple linear regression analysis, which revealed a moderate relationship between income levels and the number of poor people, although the regression model has a low explanatory power (R-squared of 0.2160). The results indicate that, despite income growth, income inequality remains the primary factor contributing to the high poverty rate. The implications of these findings highlight the need for policies that focus more on income redistribution and the empowerment of the informal sector to reduce social inequality and improve the well-being of the people in Gorontalo sustainably

Abstract

                                               ABSTRAK Aktivitas penambangan oleh masyarakat di sempadan Sungai Paguyaman, menyebabkan pencemaran di perairan sungai. Dampak langsung dapat dilihat pada kualitas perairannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kualitas air Sungai Paguyaman pada areal penambangan batuan Desa Motoduto Kecamatan Boliyohuto. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tahun 2022 di Sungai Paguyaman. Pengambilan sampel air di dilakukan di tiga tempat yaitu sebelum lokasi tambang sebagai kontrol, di tapak kegiatan tambang liar saat beraktivitas dan setelah lokasi pertambangan. Paremeter kualitas air meliputi parameter kecerahan, pH,  dan Dissolved Oxygen (DO). total dissolved solid (TDS), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), suhu dan ammonia, Biologycal Oxygen Demand (BOD) dan Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). Hasil pengukuran akan ditampilkan dalam bentuk grafik dan dibahas seacara deskriptif dengan merujuk pada baku mutu PP Nomor 22 tahun 2021 (Lampiran VI). Hasil analisis laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa parameter TSS dan Surfactan melewati baku mutu kualitas air untuk Kelas II. Konsentrasi TSS di lokasi control sebesar 98 mg/l dan Surfactan 0,009 mg/l. Konsentrasi TSS di sekitar lokasi tambang sebesar 119 mg/l dan Surfactan 0,02 mg/l. Konsentrasi TSS setelah lokasi tambang adalah 148 mg/l dan Surfactan  sebesar 0,021 mg/l. Baku mutu TSS untuk air sungai Kelas II sebesar 50 mg/l dan Surfactan sebesar 0,001 mg/l.ABSTRACT Rock mining activities on the Paguyaman River border can cause river water pollution. The purpose of this study was to analyze the water quality of the Paguyaman River around the rock mining area of Motoduto Village, Boliyohuto District. Water sampling was carried out at three locations, namely before the mine site as a control, at the rock mining activity site and after the mining site. Water quality parameters include brightness, pH, and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) parameters. total dissolved solid (TDS), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), temperature and ammonia, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). The measurement results will be displayed in graphic form and analyzed descriptively by referring to the PP No. 22 of 2021 quality standard (Appendix VI). The results of the laboratory analysis showed that the TSS and Surfactant parameters passed the water quality standard for Class II. The concentration of TSS at the control location was 98 mg/l and surfactant 0.009 mg/l. The concentration of TSS around the mine site is 119 mg/l and Surfactan is 0.02 mg/l. The concentration of TSS after the mine site is 148 mg/l and Surfactan is 0.021 mg/l. The TSS quality standard for Class II river water is 50 mg/l and Surfactant is 0.001 mg/l.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Sub DAS Marisa merupakan salah satu sub DAS yang mengalami kerusakan. Adanya perubahan penggunaan lahan menjadi lahan pertanian mengakibatkan peningkatan terjadinya erosi. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menduga potensi erosi dengan aplikasi model Builder pada Sistem Informasi Geografis. Pengukuran potensi erosi menggunakan metode USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation). Berdasarkan hasil analisis USLE bahwa Sub DAS Marisa nilai erosi tertinggi berada di Kecamatan Limboto Barat dengan luas 7.539,30 Ha. Faktor erosi yang paling berpengaruh di Sub DAS Marisa yaitu faktor CP dan LS. Mayoritas masyarakat merupakan petani sehingga banyaknya lahan pertanian di daerah tersebut. Faktor LS yaitu rata-rata keadan topografi di Sub DAS Marisa yaitu curam dengan kelas kemiringan lereng IV (25%-40%). Di Sub DAS Marisa kurangnya tindakan konservasi yang dilakukan masyarakat, sehingga banyaknya partikel tanah yang terdegradasi terbawa aliran oleh air hujan. Adapun tindakan konservasi yang dapat diterapkan antara lain pemberian mulsa dan penanaman dengan pola sistem agroforestry.  Kata kunci: Erosi; USLE; Aplikasi Builder. ABSTRACT  Marisa sub-watershed is one of the damaged sub-watersheds. The change in land use to agricultural land resulted in an increase in erosion. The purpose of this research is to estimate the erosion potential with the application of the Builder model in Geographic Information Systems. Measurement of erosion potential using the USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) method. Based on the results of USLE analysis that the Marisa Sub-watershed has the highest erosion value in the West Limboto District with an area of 7,539.30 Ha. The most influential erosion factors in the Marisa sub-watershed are CP and LS factors. The majority of people are farmers so there is a lot of agricultural land in the area. The LS factor is the average topography in the Marisa sub-watershed, which is steep with slope class IV (25%-40%). In the Marisa Sub-watershed, there is a lack of conservation action taken by the community, so that many degraded soil particles are carried away by rainwater. The conservation actions that can be applied include providing mulch and planting with an agroforestry system pattern. Keywords: Erosion; USLE; Builder Application

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh faktor sosial-ekonomi terhadap adopsi sistem agroforestri di Provinsi Gorontalo. Agroforestri dipandang sebagai solusi berkelanjutan untuk mengatasi masalah lingkungan seperti banjir dan longsor melalui integrasi komponen pertanian, kehutanan, dan peternakan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan regresi logistik, melibatkan 164 responden dari enam desa yang dipilih secara proporsional. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif, uji Chi-Square, dan regresi logistik biner. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa luas lahan (X5), penyuluhan (X8), dan keanggotaan kelompok tani hutan (KTH) (X7) menjadi faktor dominan yang memengaruhi adopsi. Petani dengan lahan ≥2 Ha memiliki peluang 201% lebih tinggi untuk mengadopsi agroforestri, sementara penyuluhan dan keanggotaan KTH meningkatkan peluang sebesar 2,75 kali dan 2,5 kali. Sebaliknya, usia (X1) dan pendidikan (X3) tidak berpengaruh signifikan, meskipun tren menunjukkan petani muda lebih terbuka pada inovasi. Analisis threshold (ambang batas skor 50 vs 60) mengungkap variasi adopsi antardesa, dengan Desa Tangga Barito memiliki tingkat adopsi tertinggi (87,5%) dan Bondawuna terendah (10,34%). Temuan ini selaras dengan literatur global yang menekankan pentingnya kapasitas teknis, jejaring sosial, dan kebijakan kontekstual. Rekomendasi strategis mencakup penyuluhan spesifik lokasi, model agroforestri yang ramah lahan sempit dan curam, serta insentif finansial bagi petani kecil. Penelitian juga menyarankan pendekatan berbasis data untuk merancang kebijakan adaptif, seperti penguatan kelompok tani dan konsolidasi lahan. Kontribusi teoretis melibatkan kerangka analisis threshold untuk memahami dinamika adopsi secara kontekstual, sedangkan implikasi praktis berfokus pada integrasi agroforestri dalam program pengentasan kemiskinan dan adaptasi iklim. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi dalam pengembangan kebijakan pertanian berkelanjutan di Indonesia, terutama di wilayah dengan tantangan biofisik dan struktural seperti Gorontalo. Dengan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan pemerintah daerah, NGO, dan kelompok petani, agroforestri dapat menjadi pilar utama dalam pengelolaan sumber daya alam yang harmonis antara ekologi, ekonomi, dan sosial.
