Abstract

This study aims to describe the understanding of Hita Sukhaya (Maitreyani) family for young couples by guidance and development strategies using SWOT analysis. The case study qualitative research design, based on purposive sampling of 5 Buddhist couples. Data analysis with interactive model (Miles and Huberman, 1994), data validity with triangulation validation and member check. The results showed that young Buddhist couples in Pekanbaru fully understood how to implement the blessing at Maitreya Monastery to formalize the Hita Sukhaya (Maitreyani) family, so there would be spiritual bond to obtain the Buddha's blessing to build a harmonious family, realizing Universal Family. The strategic role of the Monastery in providing services to formalize the Maitreyani Family as the main goal and function which is also an opportunity from available human resources to turn potential programs into effective programs in service.

Abstract

This study aims to inculcate a devotional attitude in early childhood education at Kasih Maitreya Kindergarten. The research method used was qualitative research in a case study format, the sample was selected by purposive sample, with participants from the head of the education unit and the TK Kasih Maitreya teachers. Data collection by observation, interviews, documentation and triangulation. Data analysis using interactive models (Miles and Huberman, 2014, 247), through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The validity of the data is carried out by validating concepts in the form of triangulation and member checks. From the research it was found that (1) the implementation of devotional learning at Kasih Maitreya Kindergarten starts from religiosity; sociality; democracy; honesty; independence; 5S culture; responsibility and respect for the environment. (2) The implementation of the understanding of devotion towards the development of Kindergarten Kasih Maitreya children has experienced a proud increase, especially in terms of improving early childhood good habits, namely children being able to be polite both to their teachers and to their parents and are able to apply them in everyday life. It is proven by the results of observations of Kindergarten Kindergartners, Kasih Maitreya, which reached 2% Very Good Development (BSB), 76% Developed According to Expectations (BSH) and 22% Started to Develop (MB).

Abstract

This study is entitled “Teacher’s role to improve student’s learning passion in Buddhist Religion Grade IX at SMP Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru. This study is held at SMP Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru to discuss about the teacher’s role as informator, educator, and motivator in improving learning passion for grade IX students in SMP Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru. There are problem identification from this study which are how the teacher’s role as motivator to improve the learning passion and what the supporting and obstacle factors of the teacher as a motivator to improve the learning passion. The goal of this study is to acknowledge the teacher’s role as motivator to improve the learning passion and to discover the support and obstacle factors of the teacher’s role to improve the learning passion in Buddhist religion for the grade IX students of SMP Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru. This study uses descriptive analysis methods with qualitative approach. The technical of data collection is to observe the interview and documentation. The result that could be seen as the study is : 1) to use various techniques in teaching, 2) to make competition, 3) to evaluate, 4) to scoring, 5) to announce the result of lesson, 6) to give the reward, 7) to praise the students, 8) to punish the ones who don’t do the task. Meanwhile the supporting factors are students’ health, the seriousness will of learning from the students, teacher’s competence and qualification. The obstacle factors are lacking in giving appreciation to students, the low understanding of topics by the students, and also the less availability of the school facility.

Abstract

The knowledge about the Five Principles of Buddhism is the life foundation of every Buddhist generally and students specifically. Therefore, this research aims to improve the application of the first principle of the Five Principles of Buddhism among the seventh grade students at SMP Maitreyawira Palembang. In this research, the descriptive qualitative method is used. This method intensively learns the background of the current situation, and the environmental interaction according to the social units comprising: individuals, groups, institutions or society. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the role of a teacher as a motivator can motivate and help the students build a strong will and hope so that their life style can abide by the first principle. Besides, the role of a teacher as an inspirer using learning media can inspire the students to apply the first principle of the Five Principles of Buddhism. It is hoped that his research has a contribution for both teachers and students in practicing the Five Principles of Buddhism, especially the first principle, and for enriching the study of Buddha Dharma in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how much the Benefits of Buddhist Business Ethics on  Entrepreneurial Interests for Students of the 2018 Maitreyawira Pekanbaru Batch. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method through interviews and documentation with data collection techniques using questionnaires and observation. The results of the study concluded that there is an important role for business ethics in doing business in the life of Buddhist society, such as: a). Honesty, trust in business or business b). Mutual benefit to one another c). Have good intentions or do not mean bad to others in business activities and as a Buddhist student have very good moral integrity. This result is in line with the theory put forward by Suryana which reveals that one of the factors that influence a person's interest in entrepreneurship is personal factors (character).

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the increase in the cultivation of state defense values ​​during the Covid-19 Pandemic after the application of practical and discussion methods in the Civic Education course at the Buddhist College (STAB) Maitreyawira, Pekanbaru, Riau This study used Classroom Action Research design with 2 cycles and 4 main activities in each cycle, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The researcher took 32 students (10 male and 22 female), first semester students, the academic year 2021/2022 as the subjects of the study. The results showed that the students’ scores got improved by 62,5% in cycle I (20 students) and 87,5% in cycle 2 (28 students). Based on this, it can be concluded that the application of practice and discussion methods can increase the inculcation of state defense values ​​for STAB Maitreyawira students during the Covid-19 pandemic in citizenship education courses.

Abstract

Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) memiliki peran besar dalam membentuk sikap karakter disiplin mahasiswa. Membangun budaya disiplin perlu dilatihkan dan dibiasakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kampus merupakan salah satu lembaga yang menyediakan wadah bagi generasi muda untuk menyiapkan warga negara yang disiplin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) terhadap karakter disiplin mahasiswa STAB Maitreyawira. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Wakil Ketua III Bidang Kemahasiswaan dan Alumni serta Pengurus BEM STAB Maitreyawira periode 2023-2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah gabungan (mixed methods), yaitu metode penelitian yang memadukan metode kuantitatif dengan metode kualitatif untuk digunakan bersama-sama dalam suatu kegiatan penelitian, sehingga diperoleh data yang lebih komprehensif, valid, reliabel dan objektif. Keabsahan data dalam penelitian kualitatif meliputi uji kredibilitas (validitas internal), transferabilitas (validitas eksternal), dependabilitas (reliabilitas) dan konfirmabilitas (objektivitas). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan di atas dapat diketahui bahwa peran Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) dalam Karakter Disiplin Mahasiswa STAB Maitreyawira adalah sebagai agent of change (agen perubahan), sebagai kontrol sosial, mengelola kegiatan kampus, advokasi disiplin, mengembangkan program pendidikan, mengembangkan kepemimpinan mahasiswa.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tentang Peran Pengabdi Vihara dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Puja Bakti Umat Buddha Maitreya di Vihara Sutta Maitreya Pontianak. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Vihara Sutta Maitreya Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah pengurus, pengabdi, dan umat Buddha Maitreya. Pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan triangulasi. Analisis data dengan interactive model (Miles and Huberman,1994, 12), melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan konsep validasi berupa triangulasi dan member check. Secara teoritis Puja bakti bermakna aspek bakti, keyakinan, moralitas dunia satu keluarga, konsentrasi, dan kebijaksanaan. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan puja bakti telah berjalan dengan baik yang ditunjukkan dengan umat melaksanakan puja bakti rata-rata kehadiran sebanyak 50 orang, peran pengabdi Vihara sangat penting dalam memotivasi umat dalam puja bakti, meskipun dengan pandangan umat yang berbeda-beda dalam melakukan puja bakti, pemahaman umat semakin meningkat melalui pembiasaan puja bakti sebagai aspek bakti, keimanan(sradha), sila, dhyana, dan kebijaksanaan( prajna)

Abstract

Alumni of the Buddhist Religious Education Study Program (PKB) STAB Maitreyawira are spread across various places, with various jobs, for example, some become Educators/Teachers, religious instructors, civil servants, and self-employed/entrepreneurs, and so on. The focus of this study is to analyze the perception/understanding of PKB Study Program alumni regarding the principles of business law in Buddhist teachings, the application of moral values in business law practices, and the factors that influence them in applying these principles in the world of work. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of PKB Study Program alumni STAB Maitreyawira towards the concept of Buddhist business law and the factors that influence them in applying these principles in the world of work. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The study results show that PKB Study Program alumni STAB Maitreyawira have a positive perception of Buddhist business law and strive to apply it in the world of work. However, various factors influence the implementation of these values. Namely, internal factors include: Psychological Needs, Educational Background, Experience factors, Good looking values (attractive) and Self-confidence, and external factors include: Buddhist Business Law Material during Lectures, Economic Conditions, Technology, and Digital. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen Buddhist business law in the curriculum and support from the Alumni community in building a business environment based on moral and ethical values

Abstract

Penguatan kerukunan harmonis sebagai proses estetika kehidupan senantiasa mengamalkan estetika kehidupan, barulah seseorang dapat memancarkan sifat kodrati yang mulia, sunya, dan bahagia. Semangat moderasi beragama dapat mengaplikasikan hidup mulia dan nilai-nilai komitmen kebangsaan, toleransi, anti-kekerasan; dan akomodatif terhadap kebudayaan lokal. Internalisasi diri peserta didik dalam moderasi sesuai nilai universal tersebut, dengan latar belakang sekolah berbasis moral etika dunia satu keluarga. penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan penguatan kerukunan harmonis melalui moderasi beragama studi kasus pada SMK Maitreya Provinsi Riau. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan metode campuran konvergen atau paralel dengan mengumpulkan data menggabungkan kuantitatif dan kualitatif secara simultan, menggabungkan data, membandingkan hasilnya, dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, kuesioner, data dianalisis dengan model purposive sampling kepada 3 informan pimpinan sekolah dan kuesioner kepada 352 orang peserta didik. Penelitian menunjukkan penguatan kerukunan harmonis melalui program moderasi beragama terintegrasi dengan pembelajaran moral etika, pembelajaran “Kasih” dengan budaya hidup tanpa kekerasan, bervegetarian, mengasihi kehidupan, melindungi, mengasihi kehidupan, dan memuliakan kehidupan. Penguatan pembelajaran kasih, berjiwa kasih, perilaku dan senyuman kasih mewujudkan nilai budaya kasih sekolah Maitreya. Lembaga sekolah Maitreya terintegrasi dengan stakeholder membangun sekolah sebagai satu keluarga, dengan budaya kasih semesta bersama peserta didik membentuk kepribadian luhur dalam kehidupan nyata, mendorong semangat hidup yang dinamis dan positif, membangun wawasan yang benar tentang nilai-nilai hidup harmonis, keindahan hidup yang mengasihi alam semesta, menampilkan pribadi yang indah kodrati sebagai implementasi visi dan misi sekolah.
