Abstract

English language introduction to early childhood needs to be stimulated by introducing simple vocabulary so that it is easy for children to understand. The increasingly rapid development of science and technology requires the next generation of the nation to compete both at the national and global levels, which is required to have English language skills. This makes English language introduction to early childhood important to children. Many children experience difficulties in learning English vocabulary at the Pembina Tigo Nagari State Kindergarten, Pasaman Regency, which has not developed according to their age, as well as the lack of children's involvement in learning English using interesting media. This problem indicates that the introduction of English vocabulary in learning needs to be designed to be more interesting and effective for children. The type of research used is quantitative research with an experimental method. The population in this study amounted to 40 children. The research design used a quasi-experimental with a purposive sampling technique, namely sampling based on certain considerations needed for the research. Hypothesis testing in this study used a Paired Sample T-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results of this study indicate that the use of ANIFONE media has an effect on introducing English vocabulary to early childhood students at Pembina Tigo Nagari State Kindergarten. This is evidenced by the increase in learning outcomes seen from the pre-test and post-test scores. In addition, the sig value (2-tailed) = 0.005.

Abstract

This study aims to improve early childhood creativity through block play activities at PAUD Islam Hawari Tanjung Ganti I. The research was motivated by initial observations indicating that children’s creativity levels were relatively low, with approximately 60% of children showing limited active engagement in block play activities. The observed issues included low ability to express ideas, limited variation in creations, and a tendency to imitate peers’ work. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages conducted in two cycles. The participants consisted of 15 early childhood learners. Data were collected through observation and documentation based on creativity indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The findings revealed a significant improvement in children’s creativity from Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, the average creativity score was 2.35, categorized as “Beginning to Develop,” while in Cycle II it increased to 3.45, categorized as “Very Well Developed.” The improvement was observed across all creativity indicators, with an overall increase of 1.1 points. These results indicate that block play activities are effective in enhancing children’s creativity by providing opportunities for exploration, experimentation, idea generation, and imaginative construction. The study suggests that block play can be used as an alternative learning medium to stimulate creativity in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

Stimulating gross motor development in early childhood is crucial because it impacts children’s physical, social, and emotional abilities. Observations conducted at Budi Mulya Kindergarten in Solok Regency revealed that some children still struggle with gross motor activities such as running while maintaining balance, moving quickly, and following game rules. This study involved 15 children and employed the action research (PTK) method. Planning, implementation of interventions, observation, and reflection were part of the two research cycles. To collect data, children’s activities were observed during a game of hide-and-seek. The children’s gross motor development levels were measured in each cycle using percentages. The results of the study indicate that the traditional game of hide-and-seek is capable of significantly improving children’s gross motor skills, as evidenced by improvements in their ability to run, maintain balance, move quickly, and follow game rules more effectively. Therefore, the traditional game of hide-and-seek can be used as an effective learning alternative to enhance the gross motor skills of young children while simultaneously supporting the development of their fine motor skills
