Abstract

This paper aims at reviewing the School-Based Management recent studies. As the research method, researcher follows the systematic procedures for literature review article such as collecting data, reviewing, categorizing, and presentation. This paper answers the three questions: (A) definition of SBM, (B) factors considered to implement SBM, and (C) the roles of practitioners. Data is based mainly on secondary data, published papers in the international journals in particular. In the findings, the researcher presents a certain definition of SBM defined by prior researchers, authority sharing, facility and infrastructure management, budget management, autonomy, transparency as well as the roles of school players, in-depth and breadth. Eventually, the recommendations are also appointed for further studies to promote the School-Based Management literature.

Abstract

This article aims to reveal the factual basis regarding the implementation of Students Industrial Training (SIT) course by the bachelor’s degree students of Hospitality Management Department from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality at the University. The methodology used in this study is mixed method with CSE-UCLA evaluation model. The informants in this study were 35 hospitality management students who were graduated in 2015, the SIT Coordinators, Heads of Tourism Departments, and Supervisors, Managers, Industrial Supervisors, senior staffs, and assistance from the Hotel Food and Beverage department. Data of this research were gathered through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Those data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics technique. The results showed the average score of the need assessment evaluation component was 4.2 (good), program planning was 4.14 (good), formative evaluation was 4.04 (good), and summative evaluation was 3.98 (enough). This Students Industrial Training Program can be continued by improving the students’ knowledge, working skills, and English skills, as well as improving the role of supervisors and instructors/ industrial supervisors in monitoring and providing solutions for the students to overcome problems they faced. Furthermore, this training program needed to improve the quality and quantity of relevant campus facilities and infrastructure to the hospitality industry, and increasing the positive attitude of the students in carrying out the industrial training course.

Abstract

This study discusses about design of static electricity and dynamic electricity learning media based on Android. designed learning media containing static and dynamic electrical materials that are abstract and not visible to see. The material is described in real and easily understood by learners. The method used in the design of learning media is SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) Waterfall model. And the design model of learning media using UML (Unified Modeling Language) with Use case diagram, flowchart and then developed using Adobe Flash CS6 tool. The results of this study indicate that the learning tool of static and dynamic electricity based on android easy to use for learners and teachers in the learning process. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic presents new challenges to education, especially vocational education. Learning activities could not be done face-to-face, but online learning is an alternative. The regulations governing online learning are of common concern because in vocational education there is not only theoretical learning but also practical learning. This pandemic creates new challenges for the competence of vocational education teachers specifically to be able to use technology to support the implementation of online learning. This research was conducted on vocational education teachers in West Sumatra - Indonesia, examining their competence and use of technology during the pandemic. Samples were taken from six cities; Padang, Bukittinggi, Tanah Datar, Payakumbuh, Agam, and Pariaman. This result shows that teachers always try to improve their competencies during the pandemic by training their self to use information technology in online learning, but it is not easy for them. Teachers still master pedagogical competence, personality competence, professional competence, and social competence. Teachers are more dominant in using computers and smartphones and using WhatsApp and YouTube applications to support the implementation of learning during the pandemic. Teachers must continue to adapt and innovate in online learning using hardware technology as well as the use of offline and online software applications.

Abstract

The problem that exists is how to design a tool to help students recognize their potential and abilities so that they can recognize the right potential in higher education based on their potential and abilities, with the influence of technological changes that have penetrated into life and even the world of education, then the purpose of this research is to develop software in the form of an expert system as a technology that can be used by students to be able to recognize their potential. The development of this expert system uses the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method, the design of an expert system to determine the potential in higher education based on Multiple Intelligence. This expert system is designed using the Unified Modeling Language (UML).

Abstract

Teknik pemesinan frais adalah mata pelajaran yang membutuhkan pemahaman peserta didik tentang teori dan praktek karena akan diterapkan langsung ketika bekerja di mesin frais. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan berbagai jenis media pembelajaran untuk proses belajar mengajar, seperti lembar kerja peserta didik elektronik (E-LKPD). Dengan E-LKPD belajar akan lebih menyenangkan karena di dalam E-LKPD tidak hanya berisi materi saja namun juga berisi video, animasi, soal tugas dan lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, E-LKPD masih belum digunakan oleh guru untuk membantu siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah ketika belajar dan kurang bervariasinya bahan ajar yang digunakan sehingga proses belajar mengajar menjadi kurang menyenangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat E-LKPD dan memastikan tingkat validitasnya pada mata pelajaran teknik pemesinan frais. Jenis penelitian Research and Development (RnD), dengan model penelitian 4-D oleh S. Thiagarajan dengan menggunakan lembar angket untuk pengumpulan data. Uji validitas dilakukan oleh empat orang ahli di bidang materi dan media. Berdasarkan perolehan data, penilaian kedua ahli materi terhadap hasil validasi materi menunjukkan rata-rata 82% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Penilaian kedua ahli media terhadap hasil validasi media menunjukkan rata-rata 86% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Karena belum dilakukan uji kepraktisan atau keefektifan, maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa media pembelajaran E-LKPD yang dihasilkan valid tetapi belum layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Energy consumption for air conditioning systems and thermal comfort in a building in Indonesia is quite high. The solution that can be developed is to use the thermal inertia stored in the soil. This research aims to design and test the effectiveness of heat transfer between soil-air as a passive coolant in building ventilation systems. This research was conducted for 48 hours, the incoming air velocity was 4.68 m/s, the measurement results showed various weather and temperature conditions including average light intensity of 1822.6 Lux, average ambient temperature of 28.4 °C, average humidity of 99.4%, average room temperature of 30 °C, average water temperature of 28 °C and average soil temperature of 28.1 °C and maximum effectiveness value of 2.46 and minimum air value of 0.9. Experimental results show that groundwater-air heat transfer used as passive cooling in building ventilation systems can provide good performance with temperature reductions reaching 2-10°C. Konsumsi energi untuk sistem pengkondisian udara dan kenyamanan termal bangunan di Indonesia cukup tinggi. Salahsatu solusi yang dikembangkan ialah menggunakan inersia termal yang tersimpan di dalam tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang-bangun serta menguji efektivitas perpindahan kalor antara tanah-udara sebagai pendingin pasif pada sistem ventilasi bangunan. Penelitian dilakukan selama 48 jam dan kecepatan udara masuk 4,68 m/s, hasil pengukuran menunjukan berbagai kondisi cuaca maupun suhu meliputi intensitas cahaya rata-rata 1822,6 Lux, temperature lingkungan rata-rata 28,4 °C, kelembapan rata-rata 99,4 %, temperature ruangan rata-rata 30 °C, temperatur air rata-rata 28 °C dan temperatur tanah rata-rata 28,1 °C dan nilai efektivitas maksimum sebesar 2,46 dan nilai minimum udara sebesar 0,9. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpindahan kalor air tanah-udara yang digunakan sebagai pendingin pasif pada sistem ventilasi bangunan memiliki kinerja yang cukup baik dengan pengurangan temperatur mencapai 2-10°C.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate whether virtual reality (VR) learning media can be used in Machining Technology courses which are practical learning but implemented virtually. The research using the Stake Countenance evaluation method was carried out at the Department of Mechanical Engineering FT-UNP in the July-December 2021 semester with 60 students as research subjects. This study was mix method by using sequential explanatory design. which is the collection of quantitative and qualitative data that is carried out sequentially. Data related to the antecedents, transaction, and outcomes phases were collected using questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The research begins with developing VR media that is implemented to learning materials in the field of Machining Technology and then applied to learning. Then first stage is carried out using quantitative then the next stage or the second stage is carried out using qualitative. The result of research showed that this VR application can help students understand the theory of introducing machine tool operations but have not been able to run machine. This study imply that students’ learning process should be enjoyable and also influence existing practices of Student-Centered Learning. The novelty of this study showed the evaluation result of technology, especially virtual reality can be implemented in the practice learning course, it can be reference for educator to consider implementing technology in practice learning. This study will contribute to existing knowledge and various instructional method that can be implemented by educator

Abstract

Dalam mengembangkan suatu sistem, kemudahan penggunaan merupakan prinsip penting yang digunakan sebagai ukuran keberhasilan sistem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi Mobile Learning Pemrograman Dasar yang berfokus pada aspek praktikalitas dan efektifitas penggunaan sistem. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X SMK Negeri 6 Padang dengan jumlah peserta didik sebanyak 28 orang. Data praktikalitas diperoleh dari angket, tujuannya adalah untuk melihat kepraktisan Mobile Learning meliputi aspek kemudahan, waktu yang diperlukan dan daya tarik Mobile Learning. Selanjutnya untuk mengukur keefektifan Mobile Learning digunakan instrumen berupa tes hasil belajar (posttest) pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Pembelajaran menggunakan media pembelajaran interaktif Mobile Learning dilaksanakan dalam enam kali tatap muka dan satu kali pemberian tes akhir (post-test). Berdasarkan angket uji praktikalitas yang telah diberikan kepada peserta didik didapatkan hasil 82,75% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan data hasil belajar dari siswa yang mengikuti tes setelah mereka menggunakan Mobile Learning memiliki rata-rata hasil belajar yaitu 78.84, ini termasuk kategori sangat efektif. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan kategori praktis yang dikembangkan dapat mempermudah siswa dalam pemahaman materi dan menunjukkan efektivitas Mobile Learning sebagai media pendukung pembelajaran mandiri dibuktikan dari adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan Mobile Learning.

Abstract

Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan ialah pendidikan yang mempersiapkan peserta didik dalam memperoleh keterampilan kejuruan dibidang teknik yang siap diimplementasikan pada dunia kerja. Adapun beberapa aspek bentuk pendidikan kejuruan meliputi: praktik kerja industri, sertifikasi kompetensi, kesiapan kerja, dan wirausaha yang memberi kesempatan pada siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan secara praktis. Namun, faktor yang sering muncul secara internal maupun eksternal cukup mempengaruhi pola belajar siswa khususnya pada motivasi belajar yang menjadi tindakan sebagai dorongan utama untuk lebih menekuni pembelajaran di sekolah tentang Gambar Teknik. Observasi yang telah berhasil dilakukan pada subjek penelitian didapatkan bahwa dari 26 orang siswa hanya 43% yang memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan dan 57% tidak mencapai kriteria tersebut, maka penelitian ini dimaksud untuk mengungkapkan hubungan motivasi dan hasil belajar pada pembelajaran Gambar Teknik SMKN 2 Sungai Penuh. Penelitian kuantitatif dipakai sebagai metode utama dalam menganalisis perolehan data menggunakan studi korelasi untuk mendeteksi hubungan dua variabel atau lebih. Teknik pengumpulan data secara objektif untuk melihat hubungan motivasi dan hasil belajar memakai instrumen angket dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang dipergunakan ialah pengujian analisis prasyarat dan hipotesis dengan pengujian instrumen validitas dan reabilitas. Hasil penelitian yang telah berhasil dilaksanakan pada SMKN 2 Kota Sungai Penuh pada uji normalitas diketahui nilai sig. sebesar 0,20 > 0,05 memperlihatkan hasil data sampel terdistribusi normal, sedangkan uji linearitas diperoleh sig. 0,932 > 0,05 bahwa variabel berpola linear. Oleh karena disimpulkan hubungan motivasi dan hasil belajar, bernilai korelasi sebesar 0,899 memperlihatkan hubungan yang terjadi berkolerasi secara positif.
