Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties experienced by students in solving questions on heat material with Polya’s theory. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were 28 students of class XI IPA4 SMA Negeri 4 Kota Kupang. The reseach instrument used were test questions and questionnaires. The results shown in this study, namely the difficuly of solving problems with polya’s theory, show that there are 67% of students having difficultyin in understanding the ploblems, 43% of students having difficulties in making plans, 67% of students experiencing problems in carrying out planning solutions to problems that have been solved. Made and 87% of students experienced problems in the re-checking stage.

Abstract

Misconception is one of the causes of a student's learning difficulties. This study aimed to obtain information about whether there were students' misconceptions about work and energy and the factors that caused these misconceptions. The population of this research is class X Negeri 1 Kupang students. The data collection technique used in this study was a written test instrument with multiple choices, totaling 10 questions and documentation. This research method uses quantitative research with research data consisting of quantitative data and qualitative data. The subjects of this study were class X SMA Negeri 1 Kupang students. Data collection methods include tests and documentation of student work. The four-tier diagnostic test consists of 4 levels: questions with answer choices, choice of answer confidence level, choice of reasons, and choice of confidence level of reason. The results of the study show that the category of misconceptions about work and energy by students of SMA Negeri 1 Kupang is in the moderate category.

Abstract

Community service activities have been carried out in the form of activities to create science and mathematics learning media based on local materials for elementary school teachers at GMIT Manumuti Kupang. This activity lasted for two days at the GMIT Manumuti Elementary School Hall, Kupang Regency. The aim of this activity is to provide insight into knowledge and skills regarding making science and mathematics media using local materials. This service activity uses lecture, discussion, question and answer, simulation, practice and training methods. The results of the activity conclude (1) that this service activity has improved the skills of GMIT Manumuti Tarus Elementary School partner teachers in designing and making science and mathematics learning media based on local materials to make it easier for students to understand basic science and mathematics concepts, (2) This service activity has provided the basics of Science and Mathematics to partner teachers at GMIT Manumuti Tarus Elementary School as a concept for teaching science and mathematics material to students so that learning becomes more meaningful.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of creative thinking skills, specifically through the Widening, Connecting, and Reorganizing (WCR) model, on the cognitive learning outcomes of junior high school students at SMPK Sint Vianney Soe. Creative thinking is recognized as a pivotal 21st-century competency that not only empowers students to devise innovative solutions but also influences their learning achievements. However, the relationship between creative thinking skills, particularly the WCR model, and cognitive learning outcomes has not been thoroughly explored. This research addresses this gap using a descriptive-correlational design, collecting data from 55 students through validated instruments. The findings revealed a significant relationship between creative thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes, represented by the regression equation Y=26.354+0.691X. The analysis showed that 69.7% of the cognitive learning outcomes are influenced by creative thinking skills. Among the WCR dimensions, the widening aspect demonstrated the strongest correlation with cognitive outcomes, followed by the connecting aspect, while the reorganizing aspect was not significantly related to cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Sebagian besar guru di NTT belum memiliki kemampuan untuk melakukan penelitian tindakan kelas dan mempublikasikannya. Begitu juga dengan guru-guru SDK Santu Yoseph Noelbaki Kabupaten Kupang. Kemampuan ini membantu guru untuk memperbaiki permasalahan yang terjadi dalam kelasnya dan mempublikasikannya agar dapat diketahui oleh orang lain, sekaligus sebagai media berbagi pengalaman dalam penelitian. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SDK Santu Yoseph Noelbaki Kabupaten Kupang secara luring dalam bentuk pendampingan penulisan proposal. Jumlah peserta yang hadir sebanyak 29 orang dari target 20 orang. Peserta kegiatan berasal dari SDK dan SMPK Santu Yoseph Noelbaki Kabupaten Kupang. Kegiatan pendampingan dilakukan dengan tahapan penyajian materi tentang PTK, penulisan proposal, pelaksanaan PTK, penulisan laporan PTK, penulisan artikel dan publikasi artikel. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah para guru memiliki pehamanan yang cukup komperhensip terhadap PTK, mampu menghasilkan proposal PTK, mampu melakukan PTK dan mampu melakukan publikasi karya ilmiah pada jurnal nasional.

Abstract

The research topic about scientific literacy assessment has become the concern of many scientists recently, including Indonesian researchers. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review about scientific literacy instrument research in Indonesia for the last 24 years. This research used Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) to identify and screen the articles to be reviewed. In the initial stage, as many as 3,926 articles were found in the database of Google Scholar using several related keywords. Using 7 inclusion criteria that have been determined in the screening process, 102 articles were selected to be reviewed by the researchers in this study. It was found that research on scientific literacy instruments in Indonesia has been growing massively in recent years, with the majority of respondents coming from the western part of Indonesia, making students from the central and eastern areas underrepresented. Reflecting on these findings, challenges and opportunities will be discussed in this paper, along with the suggestion for future research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development dengan judul Pengembangan Modul Materi Bunyi Berdasarkan Kajian Etnofisika Alat Musik Tradisional Belu Tihar. Fokus kajian penelitian ini adalah hubungan alat musik tradisional tihar dengan konsep fisika materi bunyi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsep konsep fisika materi bunyi pada alat musik tradisional Tihar dan untuk mengetahui kelayakan modul yang dikembangkan apakah valid, praktis dan efektif. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan: analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation. Pada tahap analisis peneliti melakukan analisis kurikulum dan analisis kebutuhan. Pada tahap Design peneliti mendesain modul berdasarkan tahap analisis. Pada tahap Development peneliti mengembangan modul, pada tahap ini diuji kevalidan modul oleh para validator yakni validator ahli materi dan validator ahli modul, dengan menguji uji keterbacaan. Pada tahap Implementation peneliti menerapkan modul pada skala kecil dengan jumlah 5 peserta didik, dan skala besar dengan jumlah 20 peserta didik, di SMA Negeri Keberbakatan Olahraga Flobamorata Kupang khususnya peserta didik yang berasal dari Belu dan Malaka, pada ini tahap untuk mengetahui kepraktisan modul dan keefektifan modul. Dan tahap terakhir adalah Evaluation, modul pada tahap perbaikan akhir jika terdapat komentar dan saran. Hasil dalam penelitian ini yakni konsep konsep fisika yang dikaji dalam alat musik tradisional Tihar adalah: Getaran, Gelombang Bunyi, Karakteristik Bunyi, Pipa Organa, Efek Doppler dan Resonansi. Dengan mengukur kelayakan modul, pertama kevalidan modul dinyatakan “Valid” dengan perolehan nilai, ahli materi 89%, ahli modul 94% dalam uji keterbacaan 96%. Kedua modul dinyatakan “Sangat Praktis” dengan perolehan nilai 85% untuk skala kecil dan 87% untuk skala besar, dan ketiga keefektifan modul dinyatakan “Cukup Efektif” dengan perolehan nilai 80% untuk skala kecil dan 72% untuk skala besar. Dari persentase kelayakan modul yang telah diuraikan maka modul dinyatakan “Layak” digunakan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive multimedia-based science practicum guide on dynamic electricity to enhance students' laboratory skills. The research method used in this study was research and development (RD), adapted from both Borg Gall’s and Alessi Trollip’s model. The multimedia product was designed to present the dynamic electricity topic with interactive visualization, equipped with easy-to-use navigation to assist students in conducting experiments. As a manual, the main content includes the practicum objectives, theoretical background, tools and materials, step-by-step procedures with animations, and practice questions with automatic assessment. This practicum guide offers three activities that users can choose from: measuring electric current, measuring voltage difference, and determining the relationship between electric current and voltage difference. The findings indicate that the developed practicum guide is highly feasible as a learning medium for 9th-grade students and effectively enhances their laboratory skills.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk membantu guru memahami tentang penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian tindakan kelas sangat diperlukan guru dalam memperbaiki proses pembelajaran sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih baik, selain itu penelitian tindakan kelas juga sangat diperlukan bagi guru yang akan naik pangkat. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini menjadi syarat bagi guru yang ingin melakukan kenaikan pangkat. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 40 peserta dari berbagai mata pelajaran. Waktu kegiatan dilakukan selama 2 hari yaitu hari Kamis dan Jumat tanggal 19-20 Oktober 2023 di SMK N 1 Kupang. Kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan bagi guru-gruu di SMK N 1 Kupang. Tahap-tahap yang dilakukan diantaranya: 1) koordinasi dengan sekolah, 2) memberikan pretest, 3) memberikan materi berkaitan dengan penelitian tindakan kelas, 4) pendampingan dalam menyusun proposal PTK, 5) memberikan postest, 6) evaluasi program. Peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan ini. Hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan hasil pretest dan postest yang diberikan menunjukkan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,32 yang berarti terjadi peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta terkait penelitian tindakan kelas dengan kategori sedang.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan kurikulum 2013 membutuhkan kompetensi dan kerja keras guru yang berkualitas sehingga tujuan pembelajaran tercapai. Sinergisitas antara guru dan siswa harus terbangun dalam atmosfir akademik yang kondusif dan menyenangkan. Guru merupakan perancang skenario pembelajaran dan sekaligus sebagai sutradara pembelajaran di kelas. Berbagai model, pendekatan, metode, dan media pembelajaran yang diterapkan di kelas sangat tergantung dari pertimbangan dan keputusan guru. Demikian juga para guru dii SDI Permunas 2 Kupang yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan berkualitas, berkarakter dan pelayanan terbaik. Namun disisi lain bahwa pemahaman para guru tentang K-2013 khususnya pengembangan pembelajaran matematika dan sains perlu tingkatkan sehingga tercapai kualitas pembelajaran. Pengetahuan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) yang merupakan salah satu ciri implementasi K-13 juga harus dimiliki para guru menunjang kompetensinya dalam proses pembelajaran. Melalui Program Kemitraan Masyarakat para dosen dapat melakukan transfer pengetahuan (knowledge transfer) kepada masyarakat berdasarkan kemampuan dan skill masing-masing. Peningkatan keterampilan para guru dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran matematika dan sains serta keterampilan TIK demi menunjang proses pembelajaran yang berkualitas dilakukan melalui pendidikan dan pelatihan yang terus menerus. Penyediaan sarana internet sangat mendukung proses pembelajaran yang berkaitan dengan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa para guru sangat membutuhkan transfer pengetahuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensinya sehingga berdampak pada proses pembelajaran demi output lulusan yang lebih berkualitas. Para guru membutuhkan sentuhan Perguruan Tinggi dalam memperbarui basis pengetahuannya baik materi matematika dan sains maupun teknologi informasi. Kata Kunci: Media Pembelajaran, Matematika, Sains, TIK, Guru-Guru ABSTRACT The implementation of the 2013 curriculum requires the competence and hard work of qualified teachers according to the learning objectives achieved. The synergy between teacher and student must be built in a conducive and pleasant academic atmosphere. The teacher is designing learning scenarios and directing learning in the classroom. Various models, learning, methods, and learning media that are applied in the classroom are very dependent on the teacher's judgment and decision. Likewise, the teachers at SDI Permunas 2 Kupang held quality education, character and the best service. On the other hand, the teachers have to understanding about K-2013 especially mathematics and science learning needs to be improved so as to achieve good quality learning. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which is one of the characteristics of K-13 implementation must also be possessed by teachers who support competence in the learning process. Teachers can do the transfer of knowledge to the community based on their abilities and skills through the Community Partnership Program. The improvement of teacher skills in the development of mathematics and Sciences learning media and ICT skills in order to support a quality learning process is carried out through continuous education and training. The provision of internet facilities greatly supports the learning process related to information and communication technology. The results of the training show that teachers really need a transfer of knowledge to improve their competency in improving the learning process for higher quality output. The teachers need a touch of tertiary education in their basic knowledge of both mathematics and science material as well as information technology.
