The concept of angle and angular measure are essential concepts that need to be well understood in learning geometry. However, students often misunderstand these concepts. This study aimed to analyze how the shift in knowledge of the concept of angle and angle measurement in the perspective of didactic transposition. A qualitative study with a phenomenological approach was conducted to examine this phenomena. Data were collected through classroom observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the transposition process in learning affects students' conceptualization process of the definition of angles so that students cannot distinguish between angles and anglular measure and tend to consider the two to be the same. A weak transposition process often causes errors, variations in meaning, and limited knowledge. This study emphasizes the need for a good didactic approach to bridge the gap in the transition process between scientific knowledge of mathematics and students' understanding. The implications of this study suggest that there is an alignment of both the curriculum and teaching materials that are in line with scholarly knowledge to improve students' understanding of the concept of angles and anglular measure.

Pandemi Covid-19 telah membuat sistem pembelajaran mengalami perubahan. Perubahan tersebut berdampak pada aspek self-confidence siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aspek self-confidence siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Dewantara dalam pembelajaran matematika di masa pandemi Covid-19. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitiannya adalah penelitian survei. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 1 Dewantara dengan sampelnya siswa di kelas XI MIA 1, XI MIA 2, XI MIA 4, XI MIA 5, dan XI IIS yang dipilih menggunakan teknik sampling purposive. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket/kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif, yaitu menjelaskan bagaimana kemampuan self-confidence siswa dan menentukan kategori self-confidence siswa dengan menggunakan kategorisasi mean hipotetik. Hasil penelitian yang didapat diantaranya: (1) Siswa percaya diri saat melaksanakan pembelajaran matematika, namun kurang percaya diri pada materi atau soal yang (2) Aspek self-confidence siswa berada di kategori sedang.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa menggunakan model Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar di kelas Vlll pada MTSs Syamsudduha Aceh Utara. Pendekatan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis pendekatan quasi eksperimen. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas Vlllyang terdiri dari 7 kelas dan sampel yang digunakan yaitu kelas Vlll-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas Vlll-7 sebagai kelas kontrol. Analisis data menggunakan SPSS 18 dengan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas serta untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan independent T-test. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data statistik deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa skor rataan N-gain siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning 0,85 (kategori Tinggi) lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pendekatan saintifik sebesar 0,44 (katagori sedang). Berdasarkan uji independent T-test diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,00< 0,05 maka  ditolak dan diterima. Hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang memperoleh pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) lebih baik daripada kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang memperoleh pendekatan saintifik.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa modul matematika dengan pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering and mathematics (STEM) pada materi lingkaran. Modul yang dikembangkan berisi tentang konsep lingkaran, unsur-unsur lingkaran serta keliling dan luas lingkaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development/ R&D). Penelitian  ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Salapian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian oleh para ahli sangat layak (ahli materi 83,75% dan ahli media 81,33%), respon guru dan siswa juga sangat baik (guru 81,42% dan siswa 84%), serta modul efektif digunakan karena pencapaian nilai siswa 80% di atas KKM. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa modul matematika dengan pendekatan STEM pada materi lingkaran yang dikembangkan dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah.

Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa menyebabkan proses pembelajaran kurang efektif. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa perlu diterapkan model pembelajaran M-APOS yang mendukung salah satunya adalah model pembelajaran M-APOS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan model pembelajaran M-APOS dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi statistika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental dengan rancangan penelitiannya yaitu non-equivalent control group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas VIII MTsN 4 Aceh Timur tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Sedangkan yang menjadi sampelnya ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas kontrol dan siswa kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas eksperimen.Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis untuk pre-test dan post-test. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian dianalisis menggunakan software SPSS versi 25. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukan skor rataan post-test kelas eksperimen yang diberi pembelajaran model M-APOS sebesar 34,26, lebih tinggi dari pada siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan konvensional sebesar 31,53. Dari hasil uji-t diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,001 yaitu kurang 0,05 sehingga h0 ditolak dan ha diterima. Dengan demikian hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran M-APOS pada materi Statistika kelas VIII di MTsN Aceh Timur.

This study was intended to investigate the influence of inquiry learning approach assisted with square word media toward students mathematical understanding ability in learning mathematics. This study was conducted through quantitative research procedures namely quasi-experimental design. The populations were all students of class X at MAS Syamsuddhuha. The samples were 25 students of class X MIA 1 and 25 students of class X MIA 2, selected by purposive sampling. The nonequivalent posttest-only control group design was used. The data were obtained from the post-test results of the students mathematical understanding; they were analyzed by using SPSS 18 software. Since the data was not normal, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test was applied. The findings of this study showed that the significant value of the test was 0,000 and it was less than 0.05 allowed the H0 rejected. It can be concluded that there was an influence of inquiry learning approach assisted by word square media on students' mathematical understanding ability, which was done in the study of trigonometry II for class X at MAS Syamsuddhuha. Hence, mathematical understanding ability is a crucial aspect in solving mathematical problems which can be measured by applying inquiry learning approach in classroom.

This study explored the differences in undergraduate students' concept images related to angles formed by a transversal intersecting any two lines compared with concept definition. Using diagnostic tests and interviews, the qualitative study with phenomenological design examined various student representations and common error patterns.  Students' answers were analyzed qualitatively to identify patterns, misconceptions, and variations in their concept images, followed by semi-structured interviews to explore their justifications. Participants were 35 second-semester students from the mathematics education study program at a state university in Aceh, Indonesia, who had completed the plane geometry course. The findings revealed significant variations in students' concept images, which were: (1) pairs of alternate interior/exterior angles, corresponding angles, and same-side interior/exterior angles were formed when two parallel lines were intersected by a transversal; (2) the measure of corresponding angles must be equal; (3) the measure of alternate interior angles must be equal; (4) the measure of alternate exterior angles must be equal; (5) the measure of same-side interior angles must be equal; and (6) misunderstanding and incorrectly identifying alternate exterior angles. These results highlight the importance of adapting teaching approaches to address differences in concept images and to better support students in mastering geometric concepts.  The novelty lies in its use of the Zone of Concept Image Differences to analyze the gap between students' concept images and formal definitions, offering insights into how to bridge these gaps in teaching.

Mathematical reasoning is one of the abilities that must have by students after learning mathematics. To improve students’ reasoning, teachers also have to good in reasoning. Due to the importance of reasoning for teachers, a qualitative descriptive research was conducted to analyze how the reasoning of preservice mathematics teachers in solving critical thinking problem. The data were collected through instrument test that consists of one problem about perimeter of a rectangle from 40 preservice mathematics teachers of first year in one of public universities in North Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia. The problem measured the skill of manipulating mathematical process; constructing mathematical proof, and drawing conclusion. Their works were analyzed for each indicator of reasoning. The result showed that more than 75% preservice mathematics teachers were wrong in solving the problem. They were not good in constructing mathematical proof to draw a conclusion. It concludes that preservice mathematics teachers’ ability in mathematical reasoning was not satisfied. This community service activity aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of  the combinatorics concepts in facing the regency-level of National Science Competition (KSN) in field of mathematics in 2021. The activity was carried out in March-April 2021 for six meetings in the form of training/coaching. The training used both discovery and drilling methods. The location of the activity was at SMAN 1 Muara Batu, North Aceh Regency with four students as the subject who have been selected at the school level and selected to participate in the KSN at the regency level. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively by direct observation to observe the improvement of the students’ comprehension during the learning process. The result obtained was an improvement of the students’ understanding of combinatorics topic. It can be seen in solving problems, the students are able to determine what concepts will be used and able to solve several KSN questions on combinatorics topic.

This community service activity aimed to improve students’ ability in solving algebra’s problems in National Science Competition (KSN) in field of mathematics especially in topic of inequalities related to quadratic mean, arithmetic mean, geometrics mean, and harmonic mean. The activity was in the form of teaching concepts to three students who will participate in KSN at district level. The activity was carryout at Iskandar Muda private high school, north Aceh regency, Aceh Province. The community service method used both expository and drilling methods. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively by observing directly changes in students’ ability in solving algebraic problems given during the teaching process. The results obtained of the community service were an increase in students’ ability to apply concept of inequality related to the quadratic mean, arithmetic mean, geometrics mean, and harmonic mean in solving algebraic problems. The results can be an important thing for the students in facing KSN at the district level.
