Abstract

Abstract This research was conducted to measure the level of productivity in ship repair activities and determine the factors that influence the increase in productivity in ship repair activities. This research was carried out in April until May 2018 at the shipyard of the Palabuhanratu Fishing Port, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province. The method used is a survey method by knowing directly the productivity of reparations in shipyards. Reparation is an overall activity about repairing a ship, starting from the collision on the part of the ship that is leaking, painting, replacing weathered wood, cleaning the hull skin and repairing the damaged engine. Productivity is a comparison between spending and input. The factors that most influence the shipyard productivity from the measured performance indicators are the number of employee absenteeism or labor where the importance of the weight is 30%, the ship repair workforce and effective working hours which have a weighting of 20% each. Based on the results of the measurement of performance indicators for 5 years with the Objective Matrix method, the productivity index of performance indicators from 2013 to 2017 has experienced a considerable decline due to the decreasing number of vessels carrying out ship repairs. Keywords: Ship Repair, Productivity, Measurement of Performance Indicators

Abstract

ABSTRACT Schooling is the most important structure in the life of several pelagic fish populations. Pelagic fish can form a very large schooling so that it is one of the abundant fisheries resources in general waters (Welcome R. L, 2001). Because of this, fishermen can use the schooling to catch large amounts of pelagic fish. An effective method for detecting fish schooling is one of hydroacoustic methods. The purpose of this study was to detect pelagic fish schooling in Lake Toba waters in order to provide an accurate picture of the insitu conditions of the potential resources of Pelagic fish in Lake Toba. The data or material used in this study is the acoustic data of Lake Toba waters that have been recorded during the shipping period with a ship speed of 7-10 knots using a scientific echosounder biosonic DT-X Spilt Beam 200 kHZ. The results showed the distribution of pelagic fish schooling was detected at a depth of 5-110 meters as many as 36 fish schooling, the highest detected at depths of 1-10 meters as many as 11 fish schooling and the lowest 1 schooling at a depth of 50-60 meters. Based on time, the distribution of fish schooling in Lake Toba waters was detected at morning, afternoon and evening. In the morning 6 fish schooling were detected, noon 18 fish schooling and 12 fish schooling in the afternoon. Keywords: Detection, Schooling Fish, Hydroacoustic, Pelagic Fish

Abstract

ABSTRAKThe location for taking pineapple leaves is in Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang sub-district, Kampar district. which aims to determine whether there is an effect on the breaking strength and elongation of the pineapple leaf rope when soaked with bay leaf extract, using the experimental method, namely making the pineapple leaf rope by twisting it and testing its breaking strength. The results showed that the value of the breaking strength of the pineapple leaves before and after the bay leaf extract was soaked was 1.25 kgf and 2.02 kgf. For the value of the elongation of the pineapple leaf rope before and after soaking the bay leaf extract, they were 18 mm and 17.1 mm, respectively. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the breaking strength of the pineapple leaf rope soaked in bay leaf extract is higher than that of the pineapple leaf rope that is not soaked in bay leaf extract. However, for the elongation value of the pineapple leaf rope before soaking the bay leaf extract was higher.Keyword: Pineapple, breaking strength and elongation of the rope
