Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika harus memfasilitasi siswa untuk berperan secara aktif dan interaktif agar terciptanya suasana untuk mengubah konsepsi siswa, salah satunya dengan menggunakan lembar kerja siswa (worksheet) yang berbasis PDEODODE. Pendekatan faktual dan konseptual menjadi dasar dalam pengembangannya. PDEODODE merupakan modifikasi strategi pembelajaran yang tahapannya meliputi Predict, Discuss, Explain, Observe, Discuss, Observe, Discuss dan Explain. Tujuan pengembangan PDEODODE-Ws adalah memfasilitasi siswa untuk mengubah konsepsi mengenai konsep dalam sistem hidrolik. PDEODODE-Ws dikembangkan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari beberapa langkah, yaitu: Analyzing, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 32 siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA Negeri Kabupaten Kuningan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa PDEODODE-Ws dapat memfasilitasi siwa untuk memahami konsep fisika secara komprehensif dan memiliki potensi untuk mengungkap konsepsi siswa selama proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Konsepsi siswa pada sistem hidrolik merupakan hal penting dalam memahami konsep fluida statis secara komprehensif. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, perlu adanya suatu tahapan untuk mengungkap konsepsi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes diagnostik Hydraulic System Conceptual Test (HySCT) dalam bentuk theree tier. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu 4D, terdiri dari beberapa langkah, meliputi: Defining, Designing, Developing, dan Disseminating. HySCT diujikan pada 32 siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA Negeri Kabupaten Kuningan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa HySCT yang berformat three tier dapat mendiagnosis level konsepsi siswa pada sistem hidrolik dengan kategori understanding, partial understanding, misconception, no understanding, dan uncode.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitia ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran penggunaan model probelem based learning untuk meningkatkan peguasaan konsep siswa SMK kelas XI pada materi fluida statis serta untuk memperoleh gambaran tanggapan siswa terhadap model problem based learning.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain “pretest-posttest control group design” yang dilaksanakan di kelas XI pada salah satu SMK di kabupaten Sambas untuk tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes awal dan tes akhir untuk pengguasaan konsep siswa serta angket untuk mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap model problem based learning. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh rata-rata N-gain penguasaan konsep siswa 0,33 untuk kelas eksperimen dan 0,206 untuk kelas kontrol. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t dua sampel independen dengan SPSS 16 menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning berbantuan media eksperimen inkuiri lebih tinggi dibandingkan  siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan problem based learning dengan metode praktikum bebas. Disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan problem based learning dengan eksperimen inkuiri secara signifikan dapat lebih meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran problem based learning dengan praktikum bebas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the creative thinking skills at optic instruments of Sundanese tribe, 11th-grade students. This research is a case study research conducted at a high school in Majalengka district, West Java. Totaling 32 students consisting of 12 male students, namely “Aa”, 20 female students, namely “Teteh”, and 18 Sundanese, the rest are immigrants. The instrument used is the Test for Creative Thinking-optical instrument (TCT-OI) which has existed validated by experts. The data found were investigated with Rasch Analysis Model (RAM). Based on the results of the analysis using the Rasch Analysis, it was found that the creative thinking ability of students stayed static low can be shown by the value of Person reliability which is 0.21 included in the weak category. There are variances in the level of creative thinking skills of students from the Sundanese and non-Sundanese tribes. As a result, it is necessary to develop creative thinking skill on the optical instrument, 11th grade students Sundanese tribe

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to develop the teaching material for integrated natural science learning in junior high school using 4 steps teaching material development (4STMD) method. There were four steps that should be conducted comprised of selection, structuring, characterization, and didactic reduction. The method used in this study was Research and Development (R&D), so that understanding test was conducted more then once, which are before and after didactic reduction step. The first understanding test result in the average of percentage that are 53,7% and 53,8%. After didactic reduction, the second understanding test result in the average of percentage that is 65,8%. The next test was the feasability test of the teaching material that result in the average of percentage 76,9%, which is in the very good category. Keywords: teaching material; understanding; feasibility Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar untuk pembelajaran IPA terpadu di SMP menggunakan metode 4 Steps Teaching Material Development (4STMD). Ada empat tahapan yang harus dilakukan pada metode pengembangan bahan ajar tersebut yaitu seleksi, strukturisasi, karakterisasi dan reduksi didaktik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Research and Development (R&D), sehingga pengujian keterpahaman dilakukan lebih dari satu kali yaitu sebelum dan sesudah dilakukannya tahapan reduksi didaktik. Uji keterpahapaman tahap pertama menghasilkan nilai rerata persentasi 53,7% dan 53,8%. Setelah reduksi didaktik, dilakukan uji keterpahaman kedua yang menghasilkan rerata persentasi 65,8%. Uji selanjutnya merupakan uji kelayakan bahan ajar yang menghasilkan rerata persentasi 76,9% yang berada pada kategori sangat baik. Abstract

In the research has been done the design of a component environment sensor based waveguide Mach Zehnder Interferometer (MZI). The material used is a polymer type polymide loss free, which varied with SiO2. The design is done by sketching and simulate the structure of MZI in the program Computer Simulation Technology (CST) by varying the analyte in the waveguide so that there will be changes in the refractive index which causes a wavelength shift at Mach Zehnder interferometer output by varying the angle 80 and 100 so as to be detectable change in the refractive index of 1.01;1.1 and 1.2 with a fixed length sensing arm 4 μm. Abstract

It has been modeled a carbon nanotubes (CNT)-based electronic device, which is a metal-semiconductor heterojunction that purely constructed from finite length of two different carbon nanotubes. It is possible since CNT possesses uniqueness in its electronic properties that it could be metallic material or semiconductor material, depends on its chirality. The modeled device is constructed from two CNTs, which possess difference in their chirality that also make differences in their electronic properties, and connected coaxially. It has been selected CNT (10,10) as metallic CNT and pyridine-like-N-doped CNT (17,0) as semiconductor CNT in order to minimize the tapering zone between them where they are connected coaxially. It has been calculated the charge distribution as well as the potential profile of the heterojunction. The calculation was done by using self-consistent method between those two parameters, in order to solve non-homogeneous Poisson’s equation. It was performed with the aid of universal density of states for CNT to calculate its charge distribution. The electron tunneling transmission coefficient, for low energy region, also has been calculated by using Wentzel-Kramer-Brillouin (WKB) approximation. From the calculation results, it is obtained that the charge distribution as well as the potential profile of this device is doping fraction dependent. It is also inferred that the WKB method is fail to be used to calculate whole of the electron tunneling coefficient in this system. It is expected that further calculation for electron tunneling coefficient in higher energy region as well as current-voltage characteristic of this system will become an interesting issue for this carbon nanotube based electronic device.

Abstract

Derivation of the transmittance of an electron incident on a heterostructure potential with nanometer-thick trapezoidal barrier grown on anisotropic materials is done by solving the effective-mass equation including off-diagonal effective-mass tensor elements. The analytic expressions are applied to the Si(110)/Si0.5Ge0.5/Si(110) heterostructure. It is assumed that the direction of propagation of the electrons makes an arbitrary angle with respect to the interfaces of the heterostructure and the effective mass of the electron is position dependent. The calculation of transmittances is done for incident energy at z direction below and above the barrier height by varying the applied voltage to the barrier. The maximum transmittance depends on the incident energy and the bias voltage given to the potential barrier. The transmittance value obtained from the Airy function has the same value obtained from the transfer matrix method. It was also found that the transmittance depends on the valley and it is not symmetric with the incident angle.

Abstract

Currently, carbon derived from biomass waste or residues is being intensively utilized as electrodes due to its excellent electrical properties, including high conductivity, appropriate porosity, and a specific surface area suitable for supercapacitor applications. Despite its advantages, the performance of supercapacitors made from biomass-derived carbon is insufficient for engineering applications because of the challenges in obtaining the mesoporous structure of activated carbon (AC). Therefore, this study highlights the potential of biomass-based carbon as the electrodes of a highly efficient supercapacitor, which can facilitate highly efficient current transport in energy storage systems. It comprehensively discusses various biomass material sources and activation methods to produce carbon, with a focus on the physical and electrical properties. Initially, the study discusses carbon activation methods and mechanisms to understand why activating agents and electrolyte solutions have a high specific surface area and specific capacitance. It then concentrates on the chemical activation method and its importance in making AC useful as an efficient electrode. Finally, in this study, various biomass sources were discussed to highlight the performance of supercapacitors electrodes originating from agricultural and wood residues relating to the specific capacitance and capacitance retention. Based on the obtained results, it is concluded that biomass-based carbon materials could be the most advantageous platform material for energy conversion and storage.
