Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of application of Cycle 5E learning model with animation media at learner activities and learning results. The sample was taken by random sampling of 32 learners at experiment and control room. The research was carried out by providing pre-check, after which learning material by nonelectrolyte and electrolyte solutions were applied with the Cycle 5E learning model with animation media at experiment room and the Conventional model at control class, then the posttest. From statistic processing, the following results were obtained: the average activity of learners at the experiment room was 89.76 and the control room was 80.55 with > or 4.59>1.67. The average learning outcome of learners at the experiment room was 81.71 and the control room was 72.96 with > or 5.57>1.67. Correlation between learner activities and learning results of experiment room learners at the calculation rcount Retrieved rcount =0.583 While rtable at α=0.05 (N = 32) is 0.349. With an index determination of 0.33 with a percentage of 33%. This means that there is a correlation between learner activities and learner learning results learned by the Cycle 5E learning model with animation media at material by nonelectrolyte and electrolyte solutions.

Abstract

Cholesterol in the body is divided into three parts, namely Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and Triglycerides. Excessive cholesterol in the blood can cause hypercholesterolemia. The Simargaolgaol plant (Aglaonema modestum Schott ex Engl) is one of the plants that people use as traditional medicine to cure various types of diseases. This study aims to analyze the effect of administering simargaolgaol leaf extract on reducing cholesterol levels in male Wistar rats fed a high-fat diet. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 groups, namely K0+ (Normal Group), K0- (Negative Control), K+ (Positive Control given simvastatin), varying doses 100 mg/KgBW, 200 mg/KgBW, 300mg/KgBW. The data obtained was analyzed using One way Anova statistical analysis with SPSS for Windows software. The data that has been analyzed has a significant value of p<0.05, which means that administration of ethanol extract of simargaolgaol leaves (Aglaonema modestum Schott ex Engl) shows an effect on reducing cholesterol in the blood. The conclusion of this research is that the ethanol extract of simargaolgaol (Aglaonema modestum Schott ex Engl) leaves has anti-cholesterol activity at a minimum dose of 300 mg/KgBW.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide training on the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) system to employees of a palm oil-based oleochemical industry company that processes residues and waste from palm oil derivative products. The training utilized a blended learning approach with pre-test and post-test evaluation using 20 multiple-choice questions, involving 30 participants. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding, with average pre-test scores of 62.3 (SD=15.8) increasing to 87.7 (SD=9.4) on post-test, indicating an improvement of 25.4 points (40.7%, p<0.001). Twenty-one participants (70%) achieved excellent category (90-100) on post-test compared to only 6 participants (20%) on pre-test. Participant satisfaction reached 4.6/5.0 with 83.3% expressing high satisfaction. Follow-up after 1 month showed that 80% of participants had applied their knowledge in the workplace and 66.7% of companies began ISCC certification preparation. This activity successfully increased the human resource capacity of the oleochemical industry in understanding and implementing ISCC standards, supporting the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the global market that prioritizes sustainability aspects.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether there are significant differences in learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of students who are taught with the Problem Based Learning and Project Based Learning models assisted by iSpring media on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials. This research method is a quasi-experiment with a two-class pretest-posttest research design. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling technique, and class X PMIPA 3 was selected as the experimental class I which was taught using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by iSpring media and X PMIPA 4 as the experimental class II which was taught by the Project Based Learning model assisted by iSpring media. The instruments used were tests in the form of pretest posttest sheets and non-tests in the form of assessment sheets on the affective and psychomotor aspects of students. Based on the results of the study, the average cognitive aspect learning outcomes were 83.71 in the experimental class I and 80.57 in the experimental class II. The average affective learning outcomes were 55.25 in the experimental class I and 55.05 in the experimental class II. The average learning outcomes of the psychomotor aspects were 78.57 in the experimental class I and 75.02 in the experimental class II. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes in the cognitive and psychomotor aspects of the two experimental classes, while in the affective aspect there is no significant difference. Keywords: problem based learning, project based learning, iSpring, chemistry learning outcomes. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v24i2.pp432-441
