Abstract

Melihat cakupan materi mata pelajaran kimia yang luas tersebut, tentu saja diperlukan waktu  pembelajan kimia yang tidak singkat untuk mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Guru dituntut untuk memaksimalkan pembelajaran padahal mata pelajaran kimia seharusnya tidak hanya diajarkan secara eoritis tetapi juga praktis. Untuk mengatasi keterbatasan ruang dan waktu tersebut, maka guru harus dapat menyusun suatu bahan ajar efektif untuk pembelajaran. Modul merupakan salah satu jenis bahan ajar serta sebagai media pembelajaran cetak. Cara dan gaya belajar merupakan kunci untuk mengembangkan kinerja seseorang termasuk siswa di sekolah. Quantum learning mencakup aspekaspek penting dalam program neurolinguistik (NLP), yaitu suatu penelitian tentang bagaimana otak mengatur informasi. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan bahan ajar modul menggunakan pendekatan quantum learning diharapkan dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Terkait dengan quantum earning adalah perumusan AMBAK (Apa Manfaatnya Bagiku). Wujud perumusan tersebut diwujudkan dalam bentuk visi salingtemas (sains, lingkungan, teknologi, dan masyarakat). Berdasarkan latar belakang di atas, muncul beberapa masalah antara lain bagaimana menyusun modul Q-SETS sebagai bahan ajar kimia yang bermuatan quantum learning dan bervisi salingtemas, serta dakah pengaruh penggunaan modul Q-SETS pada materi pokok reaksi oksidasi dan reduksi terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Aplikasi quantum learning bervisi salingtemas dalam modul Q-SETS dapat berupa kegiatan pencarian gaya belajar diri sendiri, peta konsep, penemuan AMBAK melalui analisis SETS, dan konsep TANDUR. Hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam penyusunan desain modul Q-SETS adalah modul sebagai bahan ajar siswa harus mampu melayani kebutuhan siswa dengan modalitas visual, auditorial, maupun kinestetik sehingga informasi dalam modul dapat diserap dengan mudah. Alternatif desain modul dapat berupa penyajian strategi pembelajaran dalam media cetak modul. Penyajian strategi pembelajaran yang bermuatan quantum learning dan visi SETS terdiri dari:pembelajaran pendahuluan, penyampaian materi pembelajaran, memancing penampilan, pemberian umpan balik dan kegiatan tindak lanjut. Pembelajaran menggunakan modul Q-SETS berpengaruh erhadap hasil belajar kimia siswa. Besarnya pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa sesuai dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,506 dan koefisien determinasi 25,56% dengan kriteria pengaruh adalah sedang.

Abstract

This paper discusses the designs in infusing Islamic values and sustainable development and how challenges must be faced in the training for pre-service Islamic elementary school teachers. The subjects of this study consisted of 77 primary school educational candidates who contracted "Simple Chemistry" lectures The instrument was The Chemical Essay Test Integrated Sustainable Development Aspects (CET-SD) containing Islamic discourse. Based on pedagogical planning, lesson plans are divided into four stages, consisting of (1) phase of contact; (2) phase of curiosity and planning; (3) phase of elaboration; and (4) phase of deepening and networking. The link between Islamic values and chemistry and the environment was well understood by pre-service teachers. Some challenges in teaching chemical content were found regarding with (1) difficulties with the relation between macro domain and submicro domain; (2) difficulties with the relation between symbolic domain and macro or submicro domain; (3) difficulties with models.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal how the concept of learning program design at the Islamic Science Camp (ISC), as well as to show the impressions of children and parents on the various ISC activities. This research consists of three stages, namely define, design and development. The trial subjects came from 11 elementary school (Islamic) institutions consisting of 28 students. The data were collected using (1) observation checklists; (2) documentation; (3) field notes sheets; and (4) impression sheets. Data analysis used tabulation techniques, narrative descriptions, and word cloud analysis. The science topics tested were related to (1) changes in the form of substances; (2) the concept of force and pressure; (3) matter and its classification; (4) the concept of energy; (5) aquatic ecosystems; and (6) plant morphology. Islamic values are emphasized in directing children's habituation activities, as well as providing children's motivation through Islamic figures in the fields of science and technology. Science projects include (1) a rotary ice cream making project; (2) launching a water rocket project; (3) making air freshener; (4) studying Islamic science; (5) building a ship and launching it; (6) river tracing and fishing; (7) making key chains from resin; and (8) making ecoprinting using pounding technique. Various positive impressions were obtained from the children and parents involved, and on the sustainability aspect, it was shown that there were repetitions and follow-up experiments by children outside the ISC program.Keywords: islamic science camp, science learning, love of nature, islamic science concept. ABSTRAK Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana konsep desain program pembelajaran pada Islamic Science Camp (ISC), serta menunjukkan kesan anak dan orang tua pada ragam akivitas ISC. Riset ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu define, design, dan development. Subyek uji coba berasal dari 11 instansi SD/MI yang terdiri dari 28 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan (1) daftar cek observasi, (2) dokumentasi, (3) lembar catatan lapangan, dan (4) lembar kesan. Analisis data menggunakan teknik tabulasi, deskripsi naratif, serta word cloud analyisis. Topik IPA yang diujicobakan berkaitan dengan (1) perubahan wujud zat; (2) konsep gaya dan tekanan; (3) materi dan klasifikasinya; (4) konsep energy; (5) ekosistem perairan; dan (6) morfologi tumbuhan. Nilai-nilai Islam ditekankan pada pengarahan kegiatan habituasi anak, serta pemberian motivasi anak melaui tokoh-tokoh Islam bidang sains dan teknologi. Proyek sains mencakup (1) proyek pembuatan es krim putar; (2) proyek meluncurkan roket air; (3) pembuatan pengharum ruangan; (4) kajian sains islami; (5) proyek pembuatan kapal dan meluncurkannya; (6) susur sungai dan tangkap ikan; (7) pembuatan gantungan kunci dari resin; dan (8) pembuatan ecoprinting dengan teknik pounding. Beragam kesan positif diperoleh dari anak dan orang tua yang terlibat, serta pada aspek keberlanjutan ditunjukkan adanya repetisi dan eksperimen lanjutan oleh anak di luar program ISC. Kata kunci: Islamic Science Camp, pembelajaran IPA, cinta alam, konsep islami sains.

Abstract

The development of science, especially natural science apart from religion ultimately raises a theological problem. The intersection between science and religion is contained in the National Curriculum respecting religious attitudes. Educators are expected to present meaningful integrated science to equip learners with skills to participate fully in society. This study aims to design an I-SETS (Islamic-Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) integrated learning for pre-service science teachers. The literature study was used in studying western and Islamic science, Golshani’s Islamization of science paradigm and I-SETS vision. The design is based on learning levels: I-SETS foundation, I-SETS issues awareness, I-SETS issues investigation, and action skills development. This design is expected to be an alternative raw model that will be applied by pre-service science teachers at various levels.

Abstract

The purpose was to analyze the transition of pre-service chemistry teachers' concept mastery about solutions in multiple representations-based learning. This research was set through pre-experimental design which is one-group pretest-posttest design. Multiple representations-based learning was applied to Basic Chemistry II course involving 31 first-year pre-service chemistry teachers. The instruments were a self-assessment sheet on the ability to connect multiple levels of representation (PD-MLP) and the concept mastery tests about solutions (TPKL). Self-assessment and concept mastery was measured based on the scores of the pre-test and post-test and analyzed through normalized gain calculations. Mastery of the concept consists of five mastery indicators. The gain of the concept mastery is at a moderate level (0.30) entirely. Mastery of concept I and IV are much lower than the mastery of other concepts. The shifting groups from TMK category (Not Mastering the Concept) to MSKK (Mastering a Small Part of the Concept) are the most group of pre-service teachers. There is a pre-service teacher who has changed the category from TMK to MK (Mastering the Concept). This pattern can be understood by reviewing the process of concept formation and memory workspace. The instructional content is able to reduce the barrier of feeling difficult. This can be seen from the results of the teachers’ self-assessment of their ability to connect the level of chemical representations leading to a positive direction. This indicates that conceptual understanding increases. The transition of pre-service chemistry teachers’ concept mastery is heading towards a better direction after experiencing multiple representations based-learning.

Abstract

Strengthening of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) needs to be done as an effort to present chemistry learning that is following the times. The purpose of this activity is to identify the TPACK conditions of chemistry teachers, as well as to seek initial activities to strengthen teachers’ TPACK through the introduction of augmented reality technology according to chemical content, as well as classroom management based on a learning management system platform. The implementation method included Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activities, lectures, and implementation practices. Participants in this activity consisted of chemistry teachers who were active members of the Chemistry Teacher Groups of Kudus Regency, as many as 17 teachers. This community service activity is in the form of a series of activities that include (1) identification of difficult chemistry materials, most of which show microscopic concepts as one of the difficult materials, (2) identification of the condition of the teacher's level of mastery of technology which is generally still at a moderate level, (3) introduce the potential use of technology in the chemistry learning process in the form of Augmented Reality, namely RAppChemistry, and (4) the use of a learning management system in the form of the Google Classroom platform that can be used in electronic-based teaching and learning processes. Further partnerships need to be implemented to implement the technology on a classroom scale. Activities that may be carried out are lesson study activities to optimize the integration of technology in chemistry learning. Abstract

This study introduces a small-scale chemistry (SSC) approach to inquiry-based practicum activities. SSC was introduced to train PCTs' laboratory skills so that they can be creative when teaching in schools in situations where it is not possible to obtain standard lab facilities. The research method is an action research model that includes four stages in the inquiry training process, namely (1) prescription-based practicum learning; (2) small-scale practical demonstrations; (3) small-scale chemistry practicum mentoring; (4) design and implementation of small-scale practicum designs. This research involved 15 Pre-service Chemistry Teachers (PCTs) who were in the Basic Chemistry practicum course. Data collection used documentation techniques for practical activities with an SSC approach, activity response interviews, and open response questionnaires. Instrument validity used face validity, while reliability was obtained by stability of observations. The results of the documentation and interviews were described as narrative, while the responses to the questionnaire were recapitulated and analyzed to obtain a bar chart. Videos were checked using the adequacy rubric which includes performance and procedures. 15 types of chemistry practicums with the SSC approach have been obtained. PCTs have also been able to choose the types of materials that are not only found specifically in the laboratory, but also materials that are easily found in daily lives to be used in school chemistry practical topics. PCTs also reflected that their understanding of the concept is getting better with practicals that are easy to do and their interest in implementing it further.

Abstract

Tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah agar siswa memperoleh gambaran proses produksi hand sanitizer dan menunjukkan sikap positifnya pada proyek pembelajaran IPA level MTs. Pembuatan hand-sanitizer ini dengan menggunakan bahan dasar alkohol merujuk standar World Health Organization (WHO). Pelaksanaan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berupa pendampingan dengan menggunakan sintaks sederhana dari project-based learning. Peserta dari kegiatan pendampingan ini adalah peserta didik pada MTs NU Raden Umar Sa’id sebanyak 11 siswi dan 9 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, dokumentasi, dan angket respon. Analisis data dilaksanakan dengan narasi deskriptif dan tabulasi respon angket. Keberhasilan dalam pendampingan pembuatan proyek pembelajaran IPA ini yaitu, (1) terlaksananya tahap launching, monitoring, dan evaluating dengan lancar; (2) diperoleh produk hand sanitizer siap pakai, dan (3) respon positif yang ditunjukkan para peserta didik terhadap kegitan pembuatan hand sanitizer. Mayoritas respon menunjukkan kemudahan selama berproses mebuat produk dan adanya keinginan dalam kegiatan pendampingan pelaksanaan proyek IPA yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Desa Colo merupakan salah satu desa destinasi wisata alam dan religi Sunan Muria di Kecamatan Dawe, Kabupaten Kudus yang sebagian besar masyarakatnya memiliki Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM). Era digitalisasi telah merubah pola bisnis yang dapat dilakukan oleh siapa saja, di mana saja, dan kapan saja. Salah satu peluangnya adalah pemanfaatan platform marketplace dalam pemasaran produk, baik produk milik sendiri maupun produk yang diperoleh dari produsen. Peningkatan teknologi pemasaran diperlukan untuk mengambil peluang bisnis sebagai tambahan penghasilan dan pendapatan bagi para ibu rumah tangga yang masih memiliki waktu luang dalam kesehariannya di Desa Colo. Kegiatan pengabdian ini merupakan program yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan  literasi teknologi pemasaran pada ibu rumah tangga (IRT) melalui pendampingan pemanfaatan platform marketplace. Peserta program berjumlah tujuh orang yang dipilih dengan kriteria IRT yang memiliki waktu luang, familiar dengan penggunaan smartphone, serta memiliki ketertarikan dalam melakukan usaha sampingan melalui jual beli online. Pelaksanaan program mencakup tahapan (1) Perencanaan; (2) Paparan materi dan ide bisnis; (3) Pemanfaatan platform digital marketplace; dan (4) Praktik penyelesaian masalah. Data diperoleh melalui dokumentasi dan observasi respon dan performa peserta pendampingan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peserta pendampingan dapat memanfaatkan paltfor marketplace dan memahami penyelesaian pada problem dalam penggunaan platform marketplace.

Abstract

This study explored the pre-service basic science teachers’ misconceptions using a six-tier diagnostic (STD) test. This study used a cross-sectional survey research model with respondents, namely pre-service basic science teachers (PBSTs) who are first-year students. The six-tier diagnostic test consisted of three questions about change in matter (CIM), classification of matter (COM), and separation of mixtures (SOM). Each test package consists of six questions ranging from questions at the macroscopic level, microscopic communication, level of confidence, symbolic visualization to represent microscopic conditions, and self-confidence in representing concepts. The combination of answers and decisions in six-tier diagnostic includes scientific conception (SC), almost scientific conception (ASC), lack of confidence (LC), lack of knowledge (LK), misconception (MSC), have no conception (HNC). The study showed that the conceptual mastery condition is dominated by the misconceptions (MSC) category. The condition for pre-service basic science teachers’ mastery concepts having the most scientific conception category is related to changes in matter (CIM), while the condition that shows the least scientific conception category is related to material classification (COM). The results can map the conditions of mastery of the pre-service basic science teachers’ concept so that strategies can be designed to correct the emerging misconceptions.
