Abstract

The utilization of oil empty bunches palm (EFBP) is limited, while the supply of EFBP is abundant. The most utilization of EFBP is in agriculture, while EFBP fibers have the opportunity to be developed in the field of engineering, for example as a composite material reinforcement material. In the construction field, EFBP fibers can contribute as a mixture of substances for cement tile products. The purpose of adding fiber is to distribute the stress on fibrous cement roof tiles. With evenly distributed stress, the strength of the tile will be higher. The production process of EFBP fibrous cement board is carried out without combustion, with materials in the form of portland cement, marble powder, CaCo3 powder and EFBP fiber and water. Based on the mechanical test that the fibrous EFBP tile can still be applied as a roof, this is evidenced by the majority of its mechanical properties meeting SNI standards. However, fibrous EFBP roof tiles have a flame spread value of 61.5 which means that they still need to be repaired so that the tile is not flammable. Thus, EFBP fibers can be used as an alternative fiber cement tile in order to improve product quality.Keywords: cement tile , fibre, EFBP

Abstract

Inventories of oil palm empty fruit bunches palm (EFBP) at oil palm factories are very abundant. This will be a problem if the handling is not serious. Utilization of EFBP fiber as a technical material is one effort that can be done in order to help reduce the problem of EFBP waste in palm oil mill. EFBP fibers as the substance of fibrous cement board aims to reduce to the weight of the material without lowering its strength. The method of making fibrous cement board by mixing EFBP fiber into dough with 12% marble powder ratio, 10% CaCO3 powder and EFBP fiber volume and portland cement are varied. The addition of EFBP fibers as much as 16% of the total volume can decrease the weight by 15.2%. The results showed that the cement board based on EFBP fibers under optimum conditions has a tensile strength of 1.58 Mpa, density (ρ) of 1519 k g / cm3 and bending strength of 2.61 MPa. Abstract

Palm oil mill issuesbyproducts in the form of 0.70 tons of cubic meters of fiber, 0.35 tons of cubic meters of shell,and 1.1 tons of cubic meters of oil palm empty fruit bunches palm (EFBP) to yield 1 ton cubic meters of crude palm oil.The fiber content consisted in the EFB is a source of fiber for a variety of industries such as manufacturing of composites, fillers for thermo-plastic, paper-making and sound insulation as well as soil erosion control.Manufacturing of a natural fiber reinforced cement board is an effort to reduce the use of synthetic fibers and asbestos fibers which cause side effects for its users.So this research is one of the breakthroughs to obtain new materials as substituteto asbestos fibers. This research used portland cement, marble powder, CaCO3 and EFBP fiber as reinforcement.EFBP fibers were arranged randomly in the form of short fibers. Percentage of the mixture of 16%, 12% marble powder, and portland cement was varied with a percentage of 50%, 45%, 40%, 35%, 30%, 25%, 20%, 15% and the volume percentage of CaCO3 inverse of the percentage of portland cement. The results showed that the characteristics of fibrous EFBP cementboard in the optimum condition to produce value of tensile strength of 1.96 MPa, flexural strength of 2.61 MPa, compressive strength of 14.35 MPa, density (ρ) of 1519 kg/cm3, water absorption of 24.28 and flame propagation velocity between 54.4 to 61.5 FS.By the standard of JIS A 5417-1992 that the requirements of density in the construction of cement board is of 0.8 g/ cm3, so that the material is appropriate to be applied.Its thermal conductivity lower than fibrous congseted asbestos cement board λ = 0.576 kcal/mhoC, meaning that the cement board is worthy applied as a ceiling of the house. Abstract

Abstrak Limbah minyak goreng (minyak jelantah) yang berasal dari sector rumah tangga maupun kegiatan industri makanan dapat memberikan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan dan kelangsungan hidup manusia jika tidak ditangani dengan baik. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan mengadakan kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk mengelola limbah minyak jelantah menjadi barang yang memiliki nilai jual , misalnya sabun. Proses pembuatan sabun meliputi persiapan alat dan bahan, melakukan penjernihan minyak jelantah, pencampuran semua bahan, pencetakan dan pengemasan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat terkait dengan pengelolaan minyak jelantah menjadi sabun melalui beberapa tahapan kegiatan. Dimulai dengan melakukan sosialisasi, penyuluhan, praktek pembuatan sabun dan evaluasi serta pendampingan. Program pemberdayaan masyarakat ini dapat mendukung terciptanya lingkungan yang produktif, ekonomi mandiri dan juga kreatifitas masyarakat. Produk sabun yang dihasilkan memiliki beberapa keunggulan dari produk sabun pada umumnya yakni, ramah lingkungan karena menggunakan bahan-bahan alami sebagai komposisi pelengkap. Memiliki nilai estetika dalam hal bentuk, warna, dan aroma. Kemudian, sabun ini pula merupakan suistainable product yang minim resiko pemakaian. Kata kunci : minyak goreng bekas, sabun, pemberdayaan masyarakat. Abstract Cooking oil waste (used cooking oil) originating from the household sector and food industry activities can have a negative impact on the environment and human survival if not handled properly. One of the ways that can be done is by holding community empowerment activities to manage used cooking oil waste into goods that have a selling value, for example soap. The process of making soap includes preparing tools and materials, purifying used cooking oil, mixing all ingredients, printing and packaging. The implementation of community empowerment activities related to the management of used cooking oil into soap through several stages of activity. Starting with socialization, counseling, soap making practice and evaluation and assistance. This community empowerment program can support the creation of a productive environment, an independent economy and community creativity. The resulting soap products have several advantages over soap products in general, namely, they are environmentally friendly because they use natural ingredients as a complementary composition. Has aesthetic value in terms of shape, color and aroma. Then, this soap is also a sustainable product that has minimal risk of use. Keywords:used cooking oil, soap, community empowerment

Abstract

Kota Bandar Lampung merupakan gerbang pintu Pulau Sumatera dimana sering terjadi bencana alam, yaitu berupa gempa bumi, banjir, tanah longsor, kebakaran, angin puting beliung dan bencana yan lain. Namun tidak semua warga Kota Bandar Lampung mengerti dan memahami bagaimana mengelola mitigasi bencana, terutama siswa sekolah di Kota Bandar Lampung. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk pengetahuan literasi mitigasi bencana bagi siswa SMA Surya Dharma dengan manfaat yang diberikan adalah bekal ilmu pengetahuan, keterampilan dan motivasi.

Abstract

Abstract Keteguhan Village is an area that has the highly potential to flood disaster, such as the flash flood incident that occurred on March 30, 2020. Floodprone mapping is needed to map flood prone potentials in SKeteguhan Village with the aim of increasing the alertness and readiness of the Keteguhan Village’s community in dealing that disaster. The used method includes processing the parameters of rainfall, land cover, slope, soil type, land height and land cover, then carried out by a weighted overlay process to form new data in the form of a flood prone potential map. The obtained results are that there are 3 potential areas, namely the lowlands along the river area of Umbul Kunci Street, the river area in the nearest neighborhood of Keteguhan Village and Mushollah Nurul Jannah on Laksamana R.E. Martadinata Street. Based on the area of vulnerability level in Keteguhan Village, the safe category has an area of up to 137,451 Ha with a percentage of 44.6%, the non-prone category has an area of up to 95,5116 Ha with a percentage of 30.01%, the vulnerable category has an area of up to 62.4922 Ha with a percentage of 20.27% and the very vulnerable category has area up to 15.7767 Ha with a percentage of 5.12%.

Abstract

Kemampuan dan keterampilan guru baik menggunakan maupun mengadakan media pengajaran ICT berbasis virtual class dalam proses belajar mengajar di dalam kelas bukan lagi merupakan suatu hal yang dapat diabaikan, akan tetapi ini merupakan suatu keharusan, mengingat dalam era pembangunan pendidikan di masa sekarang dan mendatang bertitik tolak pada kualitas out-putnya. Tujuan diadakan kegiatan ini untuk meberikan pelatihan kepada guru-guru tentang pemanfaataan media pengajaran ICT berbasis virtual class dengan aplikasi Edmodo untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran secara daring (online). Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini bahwa tingkat pengetahuan para peserta yang bersifat aspek pengetahuan atau kognitif tentang teori-teori dan konsep-konsep dasar Media Pembelajaran Berbasis ICT dapat dikatakan meningkat secara signifikan, peningkatan kognitif dicapai oleh lebih dari separuh peserta yang hadir, dan kelompok materi yang bersifat kesungguhan atau sikap, antusiasme peserta cukup tinggi. Simpulan dalam kegiatan ini bahwa dimasa yang akan datang pelatihan pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis ICT bagi guru-guru perlu diperbanyak dan ditingkatkan lagi, minimal selama 4 minggu atau 1 bulan, khususnya bagi guru-guru yang mengajar materi di sekolah dasar dan menengah.

Abstract

The amount of damage that occurs in various cases of fractures in the bone, both accidents and other events is increasing, it is necessary to have materials which are natural or artificial that can interact with the body system with the aim of repairing, restoring and replacing damaged tissue or as a network connector. body. The use of magnesium as a biodegradable stent material is also based on a fixed tissue structure which is an important element in the body's organs, magnesium is also considered a non-carcinogenic element. The results of the implantation of the stent material that the mechanical properties of the material can survive during the implantation process without showing failure. The parameters used in this research, The sample used is a material that has been squeezed through the squeeze casting process with each pressure variation of 250 MPa, 350 MPa, 500 MPa and 550 MPa at a temperature of 4000C for a pressing time of 1 minute, with a holding time of 5 minutes and argon gas pressure of 1 bar. . In this study it can be concluded that the variation of pressure greatly affects the results of the level of hardness. In this test, it can be seen that the higher the pressure, the greater the hardness value. The highest value is found at a pressure of 550 MPa at 51 HRV, and the highest maximum stress value is 128.26 MPa, this value is close to the tensile strength of the mechanical properties of the cortical and concelues bone. with a holding time of 5 minutes and argon gas pressure of 1 bar. Abstract

A poor selection of welding joints is one cause of damage or fractures in welding. Butt joint is one type of welding joint that has many advantages compared to other types. Because during the welding process, the joint area will be completely filled with filler metal. In addition, the manufacturing process of butt welding joint is easy, so it is widely used in the industrial world. In the welding process, the heat input and the cleanliness of the joint surface area must be considered in order not to cause failure of the welding joint. To determine the value of toughness and hardness, the welded specimens were tested using the impact test and hardness test. This research aims to determine the effect of butt welding joint type half V, single V, and double V on the impact toughness and hardness of the aluminium 5083 specimens MIG welding results. The results showed that the highest hardness value was shown by a single V butt joint with a value of 34.0 HRB and the lowest hardness value was shown by a double V butt joint 27.0 HRB. In the impact test, the highest value was shown by a single V butt joint with a value of 0.0756 Joule/ and the lowest impact value was shown by a double V butt joint with a value of 0.0145 Joule/ .

Abstract

Kegiatan konsumsi rumah tangga di perkotaan menjadi salah satu aspek yang berkontribusi tinggi pada permasalahan lingkungan, yang meliputi pemakaian sumber daya, produksi emisi dan limbah rumah tangga baik berupa gas, padat maupun cair. Salah satu alternatif cara untuk menekan kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas konsumsi rumah tangga ini adalah melalui penggunaan produk-produk yang bersifat lebih ramah lingkungan, walaupun efektivitas dari strategi ini masih banyak diperdebatkan. Artikel ini memaparkan strategi desain ramah lingkungan pada produk rumah tangga, melalui penelusuran penelitian-penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya. Dari sekian strategi yang dipaparkan maka dipilih salah satu strategi untuk diterapkan yaitu ‘eco-information’ ke dalam produk mesin cuci 2 tabung, yang saat ini banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Aplikasi strategi dilakukan dengan memberikan modifikasi desain kepada mesin cuci, di mana pengguna dapat melihat penggunaan air dan listrik secara langsung pada saat proses pencucian sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesadaran / awareness pengguna akan sumber daya yang dipakai. Efektivitas strategi ini diuji melalui eksperimen yang melibatkan responden, di mana konsumsi air sebelum dan sesudah penerapan strategi dicatat dan dianalisis lebih lanjut, dan didapatkan bahwa penerapan strategi memberikan efek yang signifikan pada perilaku pengguna mesin cuci terkait konsumsi air
