Abstract

Composite materials are increasingly developing in industrial advances both for everyday life or technological applications in industry. Composite material is a combination of two or more different components. Composite materials have certain physical and mechanical properties that are better than the properties of each of their constituent components. This research has been analyzed to determine the effect of the method of making fiber composites s-glass matrix resin 100 as material nose cone rocket rx-450 by using the method of hand lay up and vacuum infusion. Making a nose cone is carried out in several stages which are quite complicated, starting with preparation master mole for print beginning until polishing compound molding release on molding as finishing. The results obtained from this study are by using the method vacuum infusion lighter compared with material results method hand lay-up because on method vacuum infusion resin can be removed from the laminate. Whereas on method hand layup infiltration resin in fiber not enough perfect and administration of resin that cannot be controlled so that it can affect the mass from product composite.

Abstract

Desa Wiyono, di Kecamatan Gedong Tataan, Pesawaran, menghadapi masalah minimnya pengetahuan mengenai public speaking, baik dari internal sekolah maupun sumber eksternal seperti jurnal, buku, dan internet. Minimnya minat terhadap public speaking menjadi penyebab utama. Namun, public speaking memiliki peran penting dalam interaksi sosial. Pemahaman terhadapnya meningkatkan kepercayaan diri berbicara di depan umum, mengatasi kepanikan, dan memperbaiki struktur pesan komunikasi. Kegiatan edukasi public speaking di Desa Wiyono bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat, khususnya remaja dan orang dewasa (15-30 tahun), tentang pentingnya public speaking dalam kehidupan sosial. Program ini melibatkan tiga tahapan: persiapan, pembuatan materi, dan pelaksanaan. Sasaran meliputi aparatur desa, masyarakat, dan siswa SMP N 22 Gedong Tataan. Meskipun menghadapi beberapa hambatan, program ini berhasil memberikan manfaat kepada masyarakat, meningkatkan pengetahuan public speaking, serta mendapat apresiasi positif dari warga. Keberhasilan program ini menciptakan kesadaran akan pentingnya keterampilan public speaking dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan mendorong perkembangan bakat berbicara di depan umum.

Abstract

Aluminum and its alloy have been widely used in various fields of industries. Aluminum has superior properties in terms of corrosion and has an excellent tensile strength compared to other lightweight metals. Aluminum AA 1100 series is an alloy such as copper, iron, chromium, manganese, and zinc, and the minimum aluminum content is 99.0%. Moreover, Aluminum AA 5052 series is an alloy of aluminum with magnesium (Mg). Welding is the process of joining two or more base metals that are joined at the contact surface with or without additives or fillers. Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is an example of solid-state welding or non-fusion welding. FSW uses friction energy for the welding process, which generates from the indenter's twists to material surface and pressing force. Welding parameters and indenter shape change the spiral form with an indenter rotation of 1750 rpm, 2230 rpm, 3500 rpm, and a translation speed of 22 mm/minute. The tests are tensile testing, hardness testing, and microstructure testing. This study found that indenter rotation and welding speed significantly affect the mechanical properties of aluminum series 1100 and 5052, which have been welded. The higher the rotation of the indenter, the higher the hardness value, the increase in hardness reaches 10.2%. However, the higher the rotation of the indenter causes a decrease in tensile strength, with a decrease of 18.6%.

Abstract

Kegiatan konsumsi rumah tangga di perkotaan menjadi salah satu aspek yang berkontribusi tinggi pada permasalahan lingkungan, yang meliputi pemakaian sumber daya, produksi emisi dan limbah rumah tangga baik berupa gas, padat maupun cair. Salah satu alternatif cara untuk menekan kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas konsumsi rumah tangga ini adalah melalui penggunaan produk-produk yang bersifat lebih ramah lingkungan, walaupun efektivitas dari strategi ini masih banyak diperdebatkan. Artikel ini memaparkan strategi desain ramah lingkungan pada produk rumah tangga, melalui penelusuran penelitian-penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya. Dari sekian strategi yang dipaparkan maka dipilih salah satu strategi untuk diterapkan yaitu ‘eco-information’ ke dalam produk mesin cuci 2 tabung, yang saat ini banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Aplikasi strategi dilakukan dengan memberikan modifikasi desain kepada mesin cuci, di mana pengguna dapat melihat penggunaan air dan listrik secara langsung pada saat proses pencucian sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesadaran / awareness pengguna akan sumber daya yang dipakai. Efektivitas strategi ini diuji melalui eksperimen yang melibatkan responden, di mana konsumsi air sebelum dan sesudah penerapan strategi dicatat dan dianalisis lebih lanjut, dan didapatkan bahwa penerapan strategi memberikan efek yang signifikan pada perilaku pengguna mesin cuci terkait konsumsi air

Abstract

Abstract In the machining process, there are three parameters that need to be determined before the machining process is carried out, namely: depth of cut (a), feed motion (f) and cutting speed (v). Determination of the three parameters of the machining process will determine the quality of the product to match the desired geometry and tolerance. The three parameters of the machining process will affect tool life, where the selection of a constant depth of cut and feed motion will produce the most optimum level of tool wear. This study used several machining parameters with several variations, namely: depth of cut (a) of 0.5 mm; 0.8mm; 1.1mm; and 1.4 mm and feeding motion (f) of 0.062 mm/revolution and 0.1 mm/revolution. The machining process is carried out at a constant (n) rotation of 425 rpm. Based on the research that has been done, it was found that the tool life on the feed motion (f) = 0.062 mm/revolution is better than that on the feed motion (f) = 0.1 mm/revolution, where at (f) = 0.1 mm/revolution chisel wears out faster. Optimum cutting conditions are produced at feed motion (f) = 0.062 mm/revolution and with a depth of cut (a) = 1.1 mm where the production cost (Cp) is Rp.746.56/product.

Abstract

Pada pendidikan tingkat sekolah menengah atas sudah dapat berpikir dengan pendidikan selanjutnya. Lulusan sekolah menengah atas hanya berbekal ilmu-ilmu teori yang didapat dari sekolah. Sehingga mereka sedikit sekali yang mempunyai skill, khususnya pada bidang teknologi. Sehingga siswa sekolah kususnya siswa SMA perlu dibekali teknologi terapan. Sebagai contoh pengalaman dalam bidang penyambungan menggunakan teknologi pengelasan. Dari bimbingan teknis pengelasan bagi siswa adalah memberi wawasan dan membekali ketrampilan lulusan. Sehingga diharapkan dengan adanya kegiatan ini bisa menambah skill siswa SMA untuk dapat bersinergi dengan melakukan ilmu terapan. Metode yang digunakan adalah persentasi, perancangan atau desain produk dan aplikasi pengelasan sehingga metode yang paling efektif adalah model praktek langsung hingga menghasilkan produk. Pemberian materi di kelas dilaksanakan 1 pertemuan dan praktek lapangan dilaksanakan 2 pertemuan. Dari pengamaatan selama dilakukan kegiatan ini sebagian besar siswa mengikuti kegiatan dengan sungguh-sungguh sehingga pada saat dilakukan praktek pengelasan ada beberapa siswa yang mampu melaksanakan pengelasan dengan baik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengabdian ini dapat membangkitkan motivasi anak anak untuk mengembangkan pengelasan sebagai alternatif usaha lulusan.

Abstract

Friction welding is one of the solid-state welding types. Friction welding is a joining process whose application melts the material itself by using the heat generated between the surfaces through a combination of rotational motion and the application of compressive loads. The use of magnesium alloys is widely used in various industrial fields, examples of magnesium alloy applications include coating materials from iron and steel as a means of protecting against corrosion. The use of AZ-31B series magnesium alloys has a high specific strength compared to other series such as AM. The purpose of this final project research is to determine the effect of the addition of chamfer angle on the tensile strength value and microstructure of AZ-31B magnesium friction welding results. From this research, the results obtained in tensile testing are that the addition of the chamfer angle to the surface of the weld specimen will increase the tensile strength value. The highest maximum stress value was obtained in the chamfer angle variation of 300 with an average of 228.525 MPa and the lowest maximum stress value was in the material that did not use the chamfer angle variation with an average of 105.722 MPa. Based on microstructure testing, it shows differences in ?- Mg and ?-Mg phase grains17 Al12 in each region, this is influenced by heat and also the melting generated from welding so that it changes its microstructure.

Abstract

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) was first developed as a tool for military purposes. Due to the rapid growth in technology, UAVs are now used in various applications including civil needs. Of course, there are consequences for this where UAVs can be misused by irresponsible parties. One example is the use of UAVs in airport fields which can disrupt the airport operations and possibly become a serious threat towards security and safety of flights in the airport. This paper will discuss the artificial intelligence (AI) modeling to detect UAVs. This AI modeling is the first step in designing counter unmanned aerial system (C-UAS). UAV detection will use deep learning using YOLOv4 (single-stage detection) for optimal detection speed and accuracy. There are a total of 500 image data processed and used in two AI modeling experiments in this study. Gaussian blur filter is used to create dataset variations so that the training can be processed more efficiently and the model can detect better. The results shows that the training dataset that has been processed with gaussian blur (filtered dataset) increases the AI model’s detection performance in rainy and clear conditions. Therefore, the model trained using filtered datasets is more suitable for use in detecting UAV objects in anti-UAV systems.

Abstract

Sektor pertanian mempunyai kaitan yang erat dengan sektor industri, karena sektor pertanian menghasilkan bahan mentah yang nantinya akan diolah oleh industri menjadi barang setengah jadi atau barang jadi. Singkong (manihot esculenta crantz) adalah salah satu komoditas tanaman pangan yang termasuk penting setelah komoditas padi dan jagung. Pengolahan singkong dapat dilakukan melalui beberapa cara yaitu dengan perebusan, penggorengan, pembakaran dan fermentasi. Salah satu olahan dari singkong yaitu opak singkong. Namun banyak proses pembuatan opak singkong masih dilakukan dengan sederhana dan belum menggunakan peralatan yang moderen sehingga hasil yang didapatkan kurang maksimal. Untuk meningkatkan hasil produksi opak singkong maka dibuat alat press opak singkong menggunakan motor listrik AC. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan motivasi warga dan pengusaha kecil opak singkong di Desa Ulangan Jaya untuk dapat menggunakan dan mengimplementasikan mesin pres opak otomatis, dimana terjadi peningkatan sebesar 51,1% dari semula 33,3% menjadi 84,4% berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test kegiatan. Implementasi teknologi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas opak singkon secara berkelanjutan.
