Abstract

The purpose of track balance is to find out the constraints that cause the work station to be unbalanced. Research on plastic chopping tool products, where the production of plastic chopping tools takes too long in the process of making one product. line balancing is the process of balancing the production line, especially in the assembly production process. The balance of this path is intended to reduce excessive workload on one work station and strive so that each work station on each path has the same load. It is intended that each work station has a more efficient work cycle time and can avoid operator errors in assembly. to minimize the number of stations for a given cycle time. The problem of unbalanced production lines and differences in large station times causes an imbalance in the production floor. Balancing the lines on the production floor will affect the achievement of predetermined production targets. The Helgeson-Birnie method is one of the track balance methods that can solve problems in track balance. In the Ranked Position Weight results there are 6 work stations, the efficiency value is 90.02%, the balance delay is 9.97% and the Smoothing Index is 628,204

Abstract

Fuzzy set theory, or fuzzy logic, has been in use in inventory systems since the 1980s, with vaguely defined, ill-defined, or imprecise values, or decisions based on individual subjective beliefs. Provides a framework for describing the parameters that can be passed. There are many uncertainties in inventory management that can arise due to many things, such as: Order Changes, Random Supplier Capabilities, or Unexpected Events. Fuzzy logic as a method of inventory control that provides a framework by considering parameters that are vague or poorly defined, or whose values are imprecise and determined based on individual subjective beliefs make it available. The purpose of this white paper is to review previous studies using fuzzy logic in inventory management to see the uncertainty variables used. The method used is a thematic analysis of articles on the application of fuzzy logic in various industries. The results of the review show that variables like fuzzy logic make it easy to obtain results from uncertainty variables that can be applied to industrial activities to enable manufacturing activities to be carried out effectively and efficiently increase.

Abstract

The aim of this study to review the limited survey of a systematic various existing transportation problems and the application developed by different researchers and applied in some case studies. The methodology applied in this paper through various research papers that available at Google Scholar, Science direct, Elsevier, IOP and another publisher from 2014-2022 (twenty-four international researches). The main purpose of this review paper is to discuss, analyze and the existing forms of various types of transportation problems and their systematic development, Findings show that in addition to the MODI and VAM methods, other methods have also emerged to solve the transportation problem. One of them is Improve VAM (IVAM) that built by Nahar et.al (2018). IVDM on transportation or delivery strategy. Further, this paper concludes that mathematical models and algorithm method of transportation derivatives/techniques of MODI and VAM are most used to optimize single or multipurpose parameters such as distribution cost, profit earned, total transportation time etc.

Abstract

This research focuses on reviewing the Lean Manufacturing (LM) implementation which is widely applied in the manufacture company to overcome or reduce waste. The aim of this article is to find out more about the influence on the industry sector. This research was developed by collecting research from indexed databanks of Scopus, Science direct, ResearchGate, etc. This review study is significant to identify the application of lean manufacturing in dealing with waste through implementation into several case studies. A total of 24 articles were selected, taking into account criteria such as keywords, article titles and publications of international publishers, which were selected through a systematic process. This study found that the application of lean manufacturing is a method that brings many advantages that work by minimizing losses and waste, and the Value Stream Mapping method is more often used as part of several Lean Manufacturing techniques to identify and analyze the occurrence of waste while providing solutions that lead to improvement. process and cost reduction.

Abstract

This study explains the benefits obtained from the integration of Design for Assembly (DFA) and Value Engineering (VE) methods in the product design process. DFA is proven to provide benefits such as product simplification, reduced assembly costs, and improved quality by creating product structures that are simpler and easier to install. While VE adds value by taking into account the replacement of expensive or difficult-to-assemble components, speeding up overall assembly time. Although specific research on the integration of these two methods may be limited, studies show that the combination of DFA and VE produces design alternatives that consider various aspects of the product life cycle. The result is reduced costs, faster development times, and a reduced need for rework. The concepts and benefits of integrative DFA and VE approach can be an effective strategy for enhancing assembly efficiency and reducing production costs in product design.

Abstract

Some flower pots are made of plastic materials. Plastic waste is a global environmental issue with varying quantities and types in different countries. One source of plastic pollution is low-durability plastic pots, commonly used for seeding in agriculture, horticulture, and forestry. Waste from these plastic pots is difficult to decompose by soil microbes, thus posing an environmental contamination risk. Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), also known as life cycle assessment, is a method to measure the environmental impacts of products, such as biofuels. In LCA, researchers prepare an inventory of the resources used (e.g., fossil fuels and raw materials) and substances produced (e.g., greenhouse gases, solid waste, and other pollutants) throughout the full life cycle of production, transportation, and use of the product in question. From this inventory, researchers conduct impact assessments that estimate the final effects on human health, ecosystem function, and depletion of natural resources. This study aims to assess the life cycle analysis of plastic flower pot products from  their initial material stage to their disposal as waste, in order to gain insights into the potential  for minimizing their environmental impact. The results of research where the production of 600 ml plastic flower pot bottles required 28 grams of plastic resin per bottle, as well as energy for the production and transportation processes. Plastic packaging production produces defective products.
