Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________________________ Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh model pembelajaran koperatif tipe Snowball Throwing terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi sistem ekskresi. Manfaat yang dapat diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah peserta didik mendapatkan pengalaman baru dalam hal belajar yang membuatnya aktif dan bekerjasama baik dengan kelompoknya serta meningkatkan hasil belajar dalam pembelajaran biologi. Posttest-Only Control Design. Subyek yang diteliti yaitu peserta didik dengan variabel penelitian model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing untuk kelas eksperimen. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi sikap, keterampilan, kinerja guru, soal evaluasi akhir, lembar angket tanggapan peserta didik dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar pengetahuan kelas eksperimen 3,09 sedangkan kelas kontrol 2,91. Berdasarkan hasil uji t pada hasil belajar pengetahuan kedua kelas diperoleh lower bernilai positif dan upper bernilai positif atau Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,010 <ɑ = 0,05 maka Ho ditolak atau H1 diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar (aspek pengetahuan) yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.   Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ The problem in this research is how the influence of cooperative learning model Snowball Throwing the learning outcomes of students in the material excretory system. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the type of cooperative learning model Snowball Throwing the learning outcomes of students in the material excretory system. The benefits to be gained from this research is the students gain new experience in terms of learning which make it active and engaged with the group as well as improving learning outcomes in learning biology. The methodology used in the study of the model Posttest-Only Control Design. The object under study is learners with learning model cooperative research variables of type Snowball Throwing for the experimental class. The research instrument used is the observation sheet attitudes, skills, teacher performance, evaluation test, sheet questionnaire responses of learners and teachers. The results showed that the experimental class knowledge learning outcomes 3.09 and 2.91 while the control class. Based on the results of the t test on the learning outcomes of both classroom knowledge obtained lower and upper positive value is positive or Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,010 <ɑ = 0.05 then Ho is rejected or accepted H1, so the conclusion is that there are differences in learning outcomes (knowledge aspects) significant between the experimental class and the control class

Abstract

Tapioca liquid waste was discharge into the river without prior treatment caused pollution. Meanwhile polluted environment can be used as a learning resource. Learning resources in Jakenan senior high school only worksheet and material book that not all students have them, made teacher centered learning impact. The research aim to determine the eligibility of modules tapioca liquid waste as learning resources on subchapter waste and to determine modules application on learning outcome. The research design applied in this research is a Research and Development (R&D). The research has been conducted in first semester 2013/2014 in Jakenan senior high school. The subject of research was the students. The Product usage test samples taken by convenience sampling method. The expert judgment result of modules was developed  reached 91 %, student responses reached 94 %, teacher responded that the modules very feasible to used as learning resources and all students (100%) has reached the minimum mastery criteria set (72). Based on the results of the research modules eligible as learning resources.Limbah cair tapioka yang dialirkan ke sungai tanpa pengolahan terlebih dahulu mengakibatkan pencemaran. Lingkungan yang tercemar dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar. Sumber belajar di SMA N 1 Jakenan hanya berupa LKS dan buku paket yang tidak semua siswa memiliki, menyebabkan pembelajaran berpusat pada guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan modul limbah cair tapioka sebagai sumber belajar pada submateri limbah dan untuk mengetahui penerapan modul terhadap hasil belajar. Desain yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development). Penelitian dilakukan pada Semester Gasal tahun ajaran 2013/2014 di SMA N 1 Jakenan. Sampel uji coba pemakaian produk diambil dengan metode convenience sampling. Hasil penilaian pakar terhadap modul yang dikembangkan 91 %, tanggapan siswa mencapai 94 %, guru menanggapi bahwa modul tersebut sangat layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar dan semua siswa (100%) telah mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal yang ditetapkan (72). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian modul yang dikembangkan layak dan digunakan sebagai sumber belajar.

Abstract

Ketuntasan nilai UTS kelas X MIPA di SMA N 1 Godong hanya mencapai 50%. Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Menggunakan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) Berbasis Guided Discovery diharapkan mampu untuk mengatasi permasalahan hasil belajar peserta didik yang masih rendah. Hal ini dikarenakan materi biologi lebih mudah dipahami, peserta didik dapat terlibat secara langsung dalam proses pembelajaran dan berpartisipasi aktif dalam menemukan konsep materi yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasi Experimental menggunakan rancangan penelitian Posttest-Only Control Design. Data yang diambil berupa hasil belajar peserta didik, aktivitas peserta didik dan data pendukung kinerja guru, tanggapan peserta didik dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan nilai hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu untuk hasil belajar pengetahuan kelas eksperimen 3,13 sedangkan kelas kontrol 2,83. Berdasarkan hasil uji Mann Whitney pada hasil belajar pengetahuan kedua kelas diperoleh Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < α=0,05 maka terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas, disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif STAD Menggunakan LKPD Berbasis Guided Discovery dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik di SMA N 1 Godong Grobogan Midterm test completeness score of the X graders students of Science in SMA N 1 Godong is only about 50%. Aplication of learning model Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) using students’ worksheet Guided Discovery based is supposed to overcome the student low study result. It’s because of the students will easier learn biology, they can be directly involved in the learning process and participate actively to find the material concept they are going to learn. This research is Quasi Experimental using posttest-Only control design. The taken data is in the form of the students’ study result, students’ activity, and supporting data teachers’ performance. The result shows that there are differences the study result between experimental and control group. For the study result in experimental group is 3,13 while in control group is 2,83. Based on the Mann Whitney experiment in the twelfth knowledge study result, it showed Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < α=0,05, so the differences occured. Regarding to that, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model STAD using students’ worksheet can improve students study result in SMA N 1 Godong Grobogan

Abstract

Vitamin A merupakan vitamin yang berperan sebagai imunostimulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pemberian vitamin A dapat menurunkan parasitemia Plasmodium berghei pada mencit strain Swiss. Penelitian ini menggunakan 24 ekor mencit strain Swiss jantan berumur 6-8 minggu dengan berat badan 20-30 gram/ekor. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan time series design. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan perlakuan berupa pemberian vitamin A dengan 3 variasi dosis yaitu 0 IU/g BB, 35 IU/g BB dan 70 IU/g BB serta kelompok kontrol negatif dengan masing- masing kelompok terdiri dari 6 ekor mencit. Vitamin A diberikan 1 jam sebelum penginfeksian dan mencit dirawat sampai mencit pada kelompok kontrol negatif mati. Sediaan apus darah tipis dibuat 2 hari sekali dan parasitemia dihitung dengan pengecatan Giemsa. Data parasitemia dianalisis dengan ANOVA.Untuk hasil yang signifikan maka dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut Post hoc pada taraf kesalahan 1%. Hasil uji ANOVA untuk kelompok perlakuan B, C dan D diperoleh nilai p <0,001 pada masing-masing kelompok perlakuan. Hal tersebut menyatakan bahwa adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada perlakuan yang diberikan. Begitu juga untuk uji lanjut Post hoc yang telah dilakukan diperoleh nilai p < 0,001. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian vitamin A berpengaruh terhadap penurunan parasitemia Plasmodium berghei pada mencit strain Swiss.Vitamin A is a vitamin that acts as an immunostimulant. This research aims to determine whether the administration of vitamin A can reduce parasitaemia of Plasmodium berghei in Switzerland strain mice. This research used 24 mice Switzerland strain mice 6-8 weeks old weighing 20-30 grams/tail. Research conducted experimentally by using time series design. In this research, the provision of vitamin A treatment with 3 doses of variation is 0 IU/g BW, 35 IU/g BW and 70 IU/g BW as well as the negative control group, with each group consisting of 6 mice. Vitamin A was given 1 hour before infection then treated mice to mice in the negative control group died. Thin blood smears were made 2 days and parasitaemia was calculated by Giemsa staining. Parasitaemia data were analyzed with ANOVA. Significant results then followed by a further test Post hoc at 1% error level. ANOVA test results for the treatment group B, C and D obtained value of p <0.001 for each treatment group. It is claimed that there are significant differences in the treatment given. Likewise for further Post hoc testing that has been done obtained value of p <0.001. It can be concluded that the administration of vitamin A affects the reduction in parasitaemia of Plasmodium berghei in Switzerland strain mice.

Abstract

Tomato is one of the high antioxidant potential vegetables. Nowadays, there are many techniques of tomato processings instead of fresh consumption, i.e. boiled, steamed, juiced and sauteed. Every treatment of cooking will influence the chemical compound inside the fruits and the bodys nutrition intake. It is important to conduct the research on antioxidant compound especially lycopene, ?-carotene, vitamin C, ?-tocopherol, and its activity after processing. This research has been done using the experimental method. Tomatoes were cooked into six difference ways, and then it was extracted using the same procedure continued with antioxidant measurement. The research results showed that steaming had promoted the higher antioxidant numbers (lycopene. ?-tocopherol, ?-carotene and vitamin C) and higher TCA and antioxidant activities in the tomatoes than other processings. It was indicated that steaming was the best way to enhance amount, capacity and activities of antioxidants of the tomatoes.

Abstract

This research would like to show the effect of tomato juice in a variety processing method towards hypercholesterolemia albino rat blood plasma lipid fraction. The special purpose if to know and analyze tomato juice advantages towards total cholesterol content, LDL–cholesterol, HDL–cholesterol and triglyceride. The research design is a Post Test Randomized Control Design by means of Complete Randomized Design (RAL). There are 4 groups of treatment, each groups has 6 repeaters. The data is tested by One Way Varian Analyze. If there is a significance difference, there will be Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test followed. The research shows that there is a significance difference of total cholesterol content, LDL–cholesterol, HDL–cholesterol and triglyceride. The highest total cholesterol content, LDL–cholesterol and blood plasma triglyceride content are on the hypercholesterolemia control group. The lowest total cholesterol content, LDL–cholesterol and blood plasma triglyceride content are on the group that is given by a fried tomato juice. The lowest HDL content is on the hypercholesterolemia control group and the highest one are on the group that is given by a fried tomato juice. The research conclusion is that tomato juice supplementation able to fix hypercholesterolemia albino rat blood plasma lipid fraction, especially to decrease total cholesterol content, LDL–cholesterol and blood plasma triglyceride, and increase hypercholesterolemia albino rat blood plasma HDL-cholesterol content. Fried tomato juice give the best effect on decreasing total cholesterol content, LDL–cholesterol and triglyceride and increasing blood plasma HDL-cholesterol content. Abstract

Pendekatan Jelajah Alam Sekitar (JAS) merupakan pendekatan yang dikembangkan oleh dosenPendidikan Biologi Universitas Negeri Semarang dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaranbiologi. Berdasarkan database perpustakaan Biologi Unnes tahun 2011-2015 ditemukan sebanyak 25skripsi yang meneliti penerapan pendekatan JAS. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penerapanpendekatan JAS pada hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan BiologiUniversitas Negeri Semarang tahun 2011-2015. Meta-analisis ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif dengandesain penelitian expost de facto. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah skripsi JAS yang dihasilkan olehmahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Biologi Unnes didominasi oleh materi ajar lingkungan, lebih banyakdilakukan pada tahun 2011-2012, didominasi oleh metode penelitian eksperimen, dan hasil penelitianberorientasi pada pengaruh JAS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif. Selain itu, diketahui bahwa skripsisudah memenuhi komponen penyusun JAS serta dari hasil penelitian ditemukan beberapa kelebihandan kekurangan pendekatan JAS. &nbsp; Natural Environment Exploration approach is an approach that was developed by Biology Education’s lecturer ofSemarang State University to improve the quality of teaching biology. Based on Biology UNNES’ library databasein 2011-2012, it was found as many as 25 thesis examined the application of JAS approach. This study aimed toanalyze the implementation of the JAS approach to the results of research conducted by the undergraduate studentsof Biology Education Semarang State University around 2011-2015. This study is a meta-analysis includingqualitative research study with expost de facto design. The conclusion of this research was that JAS thesis producedby undergraduate students of Biology Education Unnes dominated with ecosystem concept, mostly done in 2011-2012, dominated with experiment method, and the result more oriented in cognitive aspect of learning outcomes. Inaddition, it was revealed that the final project had met JAS’s component and found some strenghts and weakness ofJAS approach.

Abstract

Teaching and Learning process through practice and simulation method direct the students to understand the concept better. This research aimed to find out the students’ achievement in the implementation of practice and simulation method on the ecosystem material as well as the students’ attitude toward the method given. The design of this research was quasi-experimental research. The population of this research was tenth-grade students of senior high school 2 Bae Kudus.The purposive sampling technique was used to choose the sample. The sample that is chosen was X MIPA 3 class (experimental class) and X MIPA 4 (Control class). Based on t-test result, the value of significance (2-tailed) amount 0,00 was obtained. Thedataof this research showed the value of significance &lt; 0,05. It was proved that there is a significant difference on the students’ achievement between the experimental class and the control class.The students’ achievement average of the experimental class was 77,78 and the average in the control class was 57,02.Total of the students who gave the positive response toward practice and simulation method was 77,78%. The implementation of the practice and simulation method directed the students to understand the material being studied better so the students’ achievement becomes optimum.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the model Think-Pair-Share (TPS) implementation to knowledge mastery capabilities and oral communication skills of high school students. This is an experimental quasi research with nonequivalent control group design. Population include all students of class X MIPA High School 1 Subah with sample classes X MIPA 1 as experiment class and X MIPA 2 as control class determined by purposive sampling that teacher suggested. The result of t-test shows the significant difference of average posttest grade between experiment and control classes. The increase of learning result experimental class 0,39 (mean), ie from 71,76 become 82,54 while control class 0,18 (low), ie from 70,25 become 75,34. The t-test result also shows a significant difference grade of oral communication skill between the experimental and control classes. The average score of oral communication skill of experiment 78,33, better than control 67,15. This shows that the TPS model has a positive influence on the ability of mastery knowledge and students oral communication skills. This is supported by the good responses from students and teacher toward model TPS implementation in environmental change learning.

Abstract

Biology is one of the cross-interest subject that much demanded by high school students who take a specialization group of Social and Language studies, but the study result of biology is relatively low. This research aims to determine the correlation between: (1) perception with study result of biology; (2) interest with  study result of biology; and (3) perception and interest with  study result of biology together. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Ambarawa, population and sample are all 10th grade students of Cross-Interest Biology Class in the academic year 2016/2017. The research used non experimental quantitative design with correlational analysis. The data collected in the form of data of student’s perception, interest, and study result of biology. Data of perception and interest obtained by instrument of psychological scale with likert model, whereas data of study result obtained from the student value of final exam in the odd semester. The research results showed that: (1) the value of  rx1y=0,213 (low category) with the value of Sig. 0,014 &lt; 0,05 at significance level of 5%; (2) the value of   rx2y=0,159 (very low category)  with the value of Sig. 0,070 &gt; 0,05 at significance level of 5%; and the value of  R=0,216 (low category)  with the value of Sig.  0,048 &lt; 0,05 at significance level of 5%. Based on the research can be concluded that: (1) there is low positive correlation between perception with study result of biology; (2) there is no correlation between interest with study result of  biology; and (3) there is low positive correlation between perception and interest with  study result of biology together for 10th grade students of Cross-Interest Biology Class at SMAN 1 Ambarawa.
