Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara dengan guru SMP Negeri 3 Muntilan diketahui pembelajaran IPA di sekolah tersebut belum dilaksanakan secara terpadu. Penyebab belum terlaksananya pembelajaran IPA terpadu salah satunya adalah tidak tersedianya bahan ajar. Kendala lain yang dialami, guru dihadapkan dengan krisis karakter pada siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar IPA terpadu berbasis pendidikan karakter yang sesuai dengan kriteria penilaian dari BSNP. Desain yang diterapkan dalam penelitian  ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Muntilan dengan menggunakan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VIII E untuk uji coba skala kecil dan siswa kelas VIII D untuk uji skala besar. Rekapitulasi hasil uji kelayakan bahan ajar oleh validator I sebesar 77,99% (layak), dan oleh validator II sebesar 95,97% (sangat layak). Tingkat ketuntasan klasikal pada uji coba skala kecil dan uji skala besar adalah 100%. Rata-rata hasil belajar pada uji coba skala kecil adalah 85,56 dan pada uji skala besar adalah 91,62. Hasil penilaian karakter siswa pada uji coba skala kecil dan uji skala besar secara keseluruhan muncul dengan kriteria baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahan ajar IPA terpadu berbasis pendidikan karakter pada tema Dampak Bahan Kimia Rumah Tangga terhadap Lingkungan yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid oleh pakar dan dapat memunculkan karakter siswa sehingga efektif dan dapat diterapkan bagi siswa SMP/ MTs Kelas VIII. Based on observations and interviews result with teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Muntilan it is known that science learning in the school has not been implemented integratedly. It is caused by the instructional material wasn’t provided. Another problem is the teachers are faced with student’s character crisis. The purpose of this research is to develop an integrated-science based on character education that is appropriate for BNSP assessment criteria. The research design is research and development. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Muntilan research subjects was VIII E grade students for minor scale trial and VIII D grade for large scale test. The recapitulation of worthiness teaching material result test by validator I was 77.99% (it is appropriate), and by the validator II was 95.97% (it is very appropriate). Classical thoroughness level in small-scale trial and large-scale trial was 100%. Learning result average in small-scale trial was 85.56 and the large-scale test is 91.62. Overall, character education results in small-scale trial and large-scale trial are on good criteria. It can be concluded that developed integrated-science teaching materials based on the character education on Household Chemicals Impacts to the Environment is valid based on judgment and it can develop the students positive characters so that it is effective and can be applied to SMP / MTs grade VIII students.

Abstract

Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ This research aimed to analyze the implementation of the “Food Fight Game” Bioedutainment strategy on student’s learning achievement and student’s learning activities in ecosystem teaching material. The type of the research was Nonequivalent Control Group in a Quasi Experimental Design. The population in this research was all students of VII class at SMP Negeri 18 Semarang, and VII D class was treated as experimental class and VII C as control class. To collect data of students learning achivement a test was performed whereas student learning activities were collected by observation. Questionare was used to collect data of student response to the implementation of the “Food Fight Game” Bioedutainment strategy. The t-test has rejected H0 at α = 5 %. T-test result showed that there was a significant difference between both groups. The average of student activities in the experimental class achieved 79% while the control group was only 72%. The conclusion of this research was that implementation of strategy Bioedutainment using Food Fight Game had a positive effect on student’s learning achievement and student learning activities.

Abstract

This research and development (R&D) aimed to develop a narrated video of monkey’s daily behavior Macaca fascicularis for conservation education. This R&D were conducted by the following steps as identification of potentials and problems of creating the video, data collection, video design, validation by media and content experts, revisions, and the limited field-testing of final products. To collect data some research instruments were developed such as validation sheets, feasibility test, and attitude scales. The data were analysed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that scores of validation video were classified as’valid’ (94, 23% and 87,5%). Video media was also rated ‘feasible’ (95,24%) by the local forest tourism manager. Level of children conservation awareness is ‘high’ (88, 42%). In sum, the videos are valid, feasible, and effective in instilling conservation awareness as well ready for use in promoting children’s awreness of long-tail monkey Macaca fascicularis protection.

Abstract

The National Science Olympic (OSN) is a prestigious event in the world of education organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture ( Kemendikbud ). OSN is implemented with the aim of facilitating and motivating students who have talent in the field of science, so that they can improve their abilities and select students to the international level . The good achievements of Indonesian sons and daughters in academia provide promising Human Resources (HR) solutions. However few students are aware of and interested to participate and compete with other academic institutions at national level even in the midst of international. The module is a supporting medium for the preparation of the selection of candidates for the regency level high school science olympic participants. The development of a question-based module for high school biology olympic is expected to improve school human resources to involve students in various national and international competitions. The results showed that "Problem Based Module Development as a Preparation for Selection of Science Olympic Participants in Biology for High School Level" found three findings. First, a module based on biology olympic questions is valid for use in the learning process based on validation by material experts and media experts with a percentage of 86% with very valid criteria. Second , the module based on biology olympic questions is effectively used to improve student learning outcomes seen from the N-gain value of 0.70 high criteria. Third, the module based on the SMA biology Olympic questions is practically used by teachers and students, based on the results of the teacher's response assessment of 93%, the criteria are very feasible to facilitate the task of the teacher in preparing lesson plans, facilitate the implementation of learning, and make it easier to evaluate student learning outcomes. The student response is 85.2%. The criteria are very suitable for students to use both in terms of good presentation, easy to understand, and can increase learning motivation and interest in participating in the Olympics .

Abstract

Difficulty in understanding the material and the decline in student learning outcomes can be managed by developing teaching materials tailored to the needs of students. This study aims to develop guided inquiry-based digestive system teaching materials as a source of student learning to improve student's critical thinking and scientific attitude. The method used in this research is the Research and Development (R&D) with the steps used are: 1) Identify potential and problems; 2) collecting data; 3) product design; 4) design validation; 5) main product revision design; 6) small-scale trial; 7) second product revision; 8) wide-scale test; 9) product revision; 10) final product. Class Students research subjects XI MIPA 4 and XI MIPA 5 SMAN 5 Cirebon with 60 students as subject. The results showed: (1) guided inquiry-based teaching material products developed based on the guided inquiry syntax; (2) the validity of teaching materials based on the validation scores of material and media experts, respectively 95% and 96.25% with very valid criteria; (3) guided inquiry-based teaching materials based on results of the analysis of the description test and the analysis of the scientific attitude assessment question, it shows that teaching material effectively improve the learning outcomes of student’s critical thinking and scientific attitude. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the digestive system teaching materials developed have characteristics based on the guided inquiry syntax, including: formulate the problem, make a hypothesis, planning an experiment, collecting data and conclusion, very valid and effective teaching materials improve critical thinking and scientific attitude of students.

Abstract

This research aims to test the validity and effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) oriented e-magazine teaching materials in improving critical thinking skills and caring attitude towards laboratory work safety. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research that uses the ADDIE model by applying a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects in this study were 51 students of class X MIA SMA N 7 Jambi City. Research instruments in the form of expert validation questionnaires, questionnaires on the readability of teaching materials, critical thinking skills test questions and attitudes about laboratory safety. The data analysis of the expert, practitioner, legibility and practicality validation questionnaire data showed that the validity of the e-magazine was considered very valid. Effective teaching materials improve critical thinking skills seen from the posttest average of the experimental class is 80.1 and the control class is 71.3. The average N-gain of the experimental class is 0.59 (medium) and in the control class is 0.33 (medium). Effective teaching materials increase the attitude of caring for safety as seen from the posttest average of the experimental class of 79.6 and the control class of 74.7. The average N-gain of the experimental class is 0.55 (medium) and in the control class is 0.42 (medium). Based on the research results, PBL-oriented e-magazines are valid for use in learning and are effective in improving critical thinking skills and caring attitude towards laboratory safety.

Abstract

Pembuatan tempe yang memerlukan banyak air menyebabkan banyaknya limbah cair yang dihasilkan, salah satunya yaitu rebusan kedua kedelai. Limbah cair tersebut masih mengandung banyak senyawa-senyawa organik seperti protein, karbohidrat, lemak, dan minyak., sehingga masih dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan dasar minuman seperti yoghurt kedelai atau soyghurt. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh konsentrasi susu dan waktu fermentasi terhadap kadar total asam laktat, jumlah bakteri asam laktat soyghut, dan tingkat kesukaan masyarakat. Konsentrasi susu sapi yang digunakan yaitu 10%, 20%, dan 30%. Sedangkan waktu fermentasinya yaitu 4, 6, 8, dan 10 jam. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan 12 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar asam laktat tertinggi terdapat pada soyghurt dengan penambahan susu sapi sebanyak 30% dengan waktu fermentasi 10 jam. Jumlah bakteri asam laktat (BAL) dari tiap perlakuan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Hasil uji organoleptik didapatkan soyghurt dengan penambahan susu sapi 30% dengan waktu fermentasi 10 jam  paling disukai oleh panelis.Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan konsentrasi susu sapi dan waktu fermentasi berpengaruh terhadap kadar asam laktat dan tingkat kesukaan masyarakat tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap jumlah bakteri asam laktat Making tempe that require a lot of water caused many wastewater produced, one of which is both soybean stew. The liquid waste still contains a lot of organic compounds such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and oils., So that they can be used as a basic ingredient of beverages such as soy yogurt or soyghurt. This study aims to determine how the effect of milk concentration and time of fermentation on total levels of lactic acid, the amount of lactic acid bacteria soyghut, and the level of community preferences. Concentration of cow's milk used are 10%, 20%, and 30%. While the fermentation time is 4, 6, 8, and 10 hours. The method used in this research is experimental research with 12 treatments and 3 repetitions. The results showed that the highest levels of lactic acid found in cow's milk soyghurt with the addition of as much as 30% with a fermentation time of 10 hours. Moderate to BAL number of every treatment there is no significant difference. From the results obtained soyghurt organoleptic test by the addition of 30% cow's milk fermentation time of 10 hours panelis. Abstract

Transfluthrin is substance contained in mosquito repellent. Transfluthrin can cause free radical establishment. Bean sprout extract contains antioxidants that have a potential to fight free radical. This research aimed to examine the protective power of bean sprout extract on the quality of spermatozoa and mice SOD levels exposed by transfluthrin. Mice were divided into five groups, namely K was the normal control group, K- was a negative control group, K+ was a positive treatment group. KP1 was a group of mice that were given bean sprout extract dose of 25 mg/20gBB, KP 2 was a group of mice which were given bean sprout extract dose of 50 mg/20gBB. The data obtained were analyzed by oneway Anova confidence followed by the LSD test. Spermatozoa motility test results and SOD levels showed that the negative control group was significantly different from the treatment group. The viability, concentration, morphology tests of spermatozoa were not significantly different between the negative control group and the treatment group. It can be concluded that the addition of bean sprouts extracts in mice exposed to transfluthrin was able to protect the motility of spermatozoa and increase the levels of SOD but were less effective at protecting the concentration, viability and morphology in spermatozoa. Keywords: ekstrak tauge, kualitas spermatozoa, SOD transfluthrin Transfluthrin merupakan salah satu bahan aktif yang terkandung di dalam obat nyamuk. Transfluthrin dalam obat nyamuk dapat menyebabkan pembentukan radikal bebas. Ekstrak tauge memiliki kandungan antioksidan yang berpotensi melawan radikal bebas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji daya proteksi ekstrak tauge kacang hijau terhadap kualitas spermatozoa dan kadar SOD mencit yang terpapar Transfluthrin. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Sebanyak 25 ekor mencit jantan galur Balb/c dibagi 5 kelompok, yaitu K: kelompok kontrol normal, K-: kelompok kontrol negatif, mencit di paparan obat nyamuk, K+: kelompok perlakuan positif mencit diberi vitamin E, KP1: kelompok mencit yang diberi ekstrak tauge dosis 25mg/20gBB, KP2: kelompok mencit yang diberi ekstrak tauge dosis 50mg/20gBB. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Anova satu jalan dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dilanjutkan dengan uji LSD. Hasil uji statistik motilitas spermatozoa dan kadar SOD menunjukkan kelompok kontrol negatif berbeda nyata dengan kelompok perlakuan dan uji statistik viabilitas, konsentrasi dan morfologi spermatozoa tidak berbeda nyata antara kelompok kontrol negatif dan kelompok perlakuan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu pemberian ekstrak tauge pada mencit yang dipapar transfluthrin mampu memproteksi motilitas spermatozoa dan meningkatkan kadar SOD tetapi kurang efektif memproteksi konsentrasi, viabilitas dan morfologi spermatozoa. Abstract

The spread of the COVID-19 virus that has occurred recently is fast the antiviral drugs are not yet available. The spread has to reduce the virus for mild sufferers, self-isolation is requested and for severe sufferers to be isolated in the hospital. One of the efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 is to increase endurance through the use of family medicinal plants (Toga). The potential of medicinal plants as immunomodulators is widely spread in Bangkong village. Bangkong is one of the sub-districts in Semarang City that is also affected by Covid-19, each resident has enough yard to make Toga park. This service activity aims to: (1) provide skills to PKK RW 7 women in designing Toga gardens by making Toga plant racks to decorate their home gardens which can serve as the basic ingredients for making ethnoscience-based Toga recipes; (2) providing knowledge and skills in cultivating Toga; (3) providing knowledge and skills in making ethnoscience-based herbal recipes; (4) providing skills in compiling ethnoscience-based cookbooks about the benefits and ways of presenting them. The approach methods used in the implementation are workshops, lectures/outreach, and training / mentoring. The workshop, given to convey theoretical knowledge about landscape architecture based on land area. In this activity the community service team explained how to make Toga's garden suitable for the land, looking beautiful and free from being damaged by chickens. The results of the training were agreed by the PKK mothers to make Toga in the form of a shelf. It is hoped that the training at the first meeting will produce Toga garden designs that can ensure that each Toga plant can live freely without being disturbed by one another. The lecture method is carried out to explain the benefits of medicinal plants, types of medicinal plants, how to reproduce, and how to treat them. The training method is carried out to provide skills to mothers in making recipes and herbal medicine that can be used to prevent Covid-19 infection. Mothers are very responsive in participating in extension activities on various kinds of plants that can increase endur. After participating in this activity, mothers have understood well the benefits of Toga to increase endurance and prevent being infected with the Corona - 19 viruses Keywords: Bangkong Semarang, Eetnoscience, Taman toga, Bangkong Semarang, Eetnoscience, Taman toga Penyebaran virus covid-19 yang terjadi akhir-akhir ini sangat cepat, obat antivirus belum tersedia. Untuk mengurangi penyebaran virus bagi penderita ringan diminta isolasi diri dan bagi penderita berat diisolasi di rumah sakit. Salah satu upaya pencegahan penularan covid-19 adalah dengan meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh melalui pemanfaatan tanaman obat keluarga (Toga). Potensi tanaman obat sebagai imunomodulator sangat banyak tersebar di lingkungan desa Bangkong. Bangkong merupakan salah satu kelurahan di Kota Semarang juga terdampak covid-19, tiap warga mampunyai halaman yang cukup untk membuat taman Toga. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) memberikan keterampilan kepada ibu-ibu PKK RW 7 mendesain taman Toga dengan membuat rak tanaman Toga sebagai penghias halaman rumah yang dapat berfungsi sebagai bahan dasar membuat resep Toga berbasis etnoscience; (2) memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam membudidayakan Toga; (3) memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam membuat membuat resep jamu berbasis etnoscience; (4) memberikan keterampilan menyusun buku resep berbasis etnoscience tentang manfaat dan cara penyajiannya. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan adalah workshop, ceramah/penyuluhan, dan pelatihan/pembimbingan. Workshop, diberikan untuk menyampaikan pengetahuan teoritis tentang arsitektur lanskap berdasarkan luas lahan. Pada kegiatan ini team pengabdian menjelaskan bagaimana membuat taman Toga yang sesuai dengan lahan, terlihat indah dan terbebas dirusak oleh ayam. Hasil pelatihan disepakati para ibu PKK membuat Toga dalam bentuk Rak. Pelatihan di pertemuan pertama diharapkan dihasilkan disain taman Toga yang dapat menjamin masing-masing tanaman Toga bisa hidup bebas tidak saling terganggu. Metode ceramah dilakukan untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang manfaat tanaman obat, jenis-jenis tanaman obat, cara memperbanyak dan cara perawatannya. Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the public acceptance and the nutritional contents of the black rice flour biscuits substituted with mung bean flour. A completely randomized design with various amount of substituted mung bean flour (MBF) in the black rice flour (BRF) biscuits was used as the experimental design. The ratios of the BRF-to-MBF were 60: 20; 50: 30, and 40:40. The acceptance test used was the hedonic test with the lowest and the highest scores of 1 and 9, indicating “extremely unfavorable” and “extremely favorable” criteria, respectively. The content of carbohydrates (using Luff School method), ash (using the dry method), protein (using Kjeldahl method), water (using oven drying methods), crude fiber (using the gravimeter method), lipids (using the Soxhlet extraction method), and anthocyanins (using the pH-differential method) was determined and evaluated. The analysis of differences in the acceptability of the biscuits was performed using an ANOVA test, followed by the Tukey HSD test. The results showed that there were differences in people's acceptance of black rice flour biscuits substituted with mung bean flour for the overall indicators, i.e., the color and taste of the black rice biscuits. The most preferred biscuits were biscuits with a composition of 40% black rice flour and 40% substituted mung bean flour with a mean value of 7.2. The nutritional content of the black rice biscuits was as follows: the content of energy of 447- 465 kcal, carbohydrates of 58.4-60.9%, protein of 7.14-9.15%, lipids of 20.3-22.2%, ash of 2.3%, moisture of 5.25-8.65%, fiber of 1.3-2.3% and anthocyanin of 20-37ppm. The production of BRF40: MBF40 (40% black rice flour and 40% mung bean flour) biscuits was highly recommended, in addition to the optimum baking time as the future work.
