Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of traditional games of boi-boian, cat and rat, as well as red-green lights on increasing the speed of sprint running of grade VI students of SD Negeri Tegalendah. The method used was a pre-experiment with a one group pretest-posttest design, involving 26 grade VI students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was in the form of a 60-meter sprint test with a score of 1–10, and the data were analyzed using the normality test, the pair sample t-test, and the R-square test. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the speed of the students' sprints, with the average score from 57.30 in the pretest to 64.23 in the posttest. Normally-distributed data, the significance value of the t-test of 0.002 (p < 0.05) confirms the statistically significant score difference. In addition, the R Square value of 0.550 shows that the application of three variations of traditional games has a very large influence, namely 55.0%, on improving students' sprint running ability. In conclusion, traditional game-based learning has been proven to be effective in improving students' motor skills, making the exercise process more lively, fun, and encouraging active engagement. Thus, physical learning focuses not only on speed, but also on the development of motor skills as a whole. Keywords: Sprint Running, Traditional Games, Game Variation

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Senam Anak Indonesia Hebat (SAIH) program in improving the physical fitness of fifth-grade students at SDN Pasirbenteng II. The research method used was a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest on 34 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI) package and analyzed using a paired t-test and the coefficient of determination (R2) test. Scientific findings showed a significant increase in all fitness variables (p < 0.05). The R2 test result of 0.796 proved that SAIH contributed 79.6% to improving student fitness. The conclusion of this study is that SAIH is a very effective and measurable physical exercise instrument to improve the physical quality of students in elementary schools. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) based soccer extracurricular training on the improvement of gross motor skills in 9–10 year old elementary school students in Bandung Regency. The study employed a quasi experimental design with a quantitative approach. The sample con-sisted of 30 students selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was the Test of Gross Motor Development-3 (TGMD-3), which measures locomotor and manipulative skills. The FMS-based training program was delivered in a structured manner through movement activities such as running, jumping, balancing, drib-bling, and kicking a ball. The results of the study indicate that FMS based training has a positive effect on students’ gross motor skills. In the locomotor aspect, the horizontal jump and run skills were rated as excellent. In the manipulative aspect, the kicking skill showed the highest results compared to other skills. Overall, FMS-based soccer extracurricular training was able to improve elementary school stu-dents’ movement coordination, balance, agility, and object control. A structured training program tailored to children’s developmental stages was deemed effective for supporting Physical Education learning and early age sports develop-ment.

Abstract

Referees play a central role in the organization of football matches, especially in children's competitions at the district level, where the quality of referee leadership affects the development of young talents, sportsmanship, and organizational image. The need for educational communication and match management that matches the characteristics of players demands a young evaluation of referee performance that is specific to the local context. This study aims to analyze the performance level of football referees in the 2026 Bekasi Regency Askab Children's League competition and identify the most dominant aspects of performance and aspects that still need to be improved based on indicators of decision accuracy, match control, physical fitness, communication, and teamwork. This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design to get an overview of the performance conditions of the referee at a certain time without special treatment. The subject in this study is the referee who is responsible for the competition, while the assessment is carried out by observers who have competence in the field of refereeing. The instrument used is a referee performance assessment questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1–5 which includes aspects of decision accuracy, match control, physical fitness, communication, and teamwork. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of average scores, standard deviations, minimum and maximum scores, with the help of SPSS software. The results of the study showed that the overall performance of referees was in the high category in all aspects measured. The decision accuracy aspect received the highest score of 77.48%, followed by teamwork at 76.68%, physical fitness at 76.58%, match control at 75.56%, and communication at 75.28% as the lowest score, although still in the high category. These findings show that referees have good competence in carrying out their duties during the match. However, the communication aspect still needs to be improved to support the effectiveness of interaction with players and officials and minimize potential conflicts on the field.

Abstract

This study is based on the fact that elementary school-aged children frequently use gadgets, which can impact their motor skills and the quality of movement in daily life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between electronic device use and the psychomotor abilities of first-grade elementary school students, as well as the contribution of electronic device use to psychomotor development. The study also examined the frequency of children's use of electronic devices. This may impact the balance between digital and physical activity, both of which are important components of child development. This study used a quantitative correlational approach and an ex post facto design. The study involved 60 randomly selected students from Pasir Biru and Cikeusik Elementary Schools. The TGMD2 Test of Gross Motor Development, Second Edition was used to assess students' psychomotor abilities. A questionnaire was also used to measure the level of device use. The data were then analyzed using SPSS version 25 to conduct descriptive statistical analysis, normality tests, Spearman correlation tests, and linear regression analyses. The results of the study showed a negative relationship between device use and psychomotor abilities, but this relationship was not statistically significant, with a correlation coefficient of -0.028. Furthermore, the analysis showed that the contribution of device use to psychomotor abilities was relatively low. This suggests that many other factors outside the study were more influential, such as physical activity, the play environment, and parenting styles. Therefore, it can be concluded that device use is not an important or primary factor influencing students' psychomotor abilities. Therefore, efforts to maximize students' psychomotor development should focus on increasing physical activity and controlling device use wisely and in a balanced manner in everyday life.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of improving the physical condition component, especially agility, in rugby and the need for innovative and non-monotonous training methods. Traditional games are seen as an interesting and effective alternative to exercise because they have dynamic movement characteristics. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of traditional games on the increase in the agility of rugby athletes in Sumedang Regency and the amount of contribution given. This study uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods and one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample amounted to 10 rugby athletes who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is the Illinois Agility Test to measure the level of agility of athletes. Treatment was given through a traditional game training program (boy-boyan, galah salt, and ucing bancakan) for 12 meetings. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistics with paired sample t-tests. The results showed a significant increase in athletes' agility after being given treatment, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. This shows that traditional games have a significant effect on the increase in the agility of rugby athletes. Thus, traditional games can be used as an effective alternative method of exercise, not only to improve physical ability, but also to increase motivation and reduce boredom in the training process.

Abstract

Limited facilities and infrastructure remain a common issue in the implementation of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PE) learning in elementary schools. These limitations may affect the effectiveness of learning activities and students’ participation in physical education. This study examines the challenges encountered and the adaptive teaching strategies employed by teachers in the implementation of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PE) learning in schools with limited facilities. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design at  Pangadegan Elementary School  to explore the phenomenon in its real context. Data collection was conducted by interviews, observations and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion development. The results indicate that the main challenges are linked to the limited access to sports fields, insufficient equipment and limited space for students to move, which leads to less optimal learning activities. To meet these challenges, teachers applied adaptive strategies, such as changing the location of learning activities, adjusting games, and adapting learning materials to the conditions available. The role of the school principal in facilitating learning management also supports the effectiveness of these strategies. However, students showed high enthusiasm in participating in learning activities, but they still had difficulties in motor skill performance. These results show that the success of Physical Education learning is determined not only by the availability of facilities, but also by the adaptability and support from the school teachers.
