Abstract

Abstract The shift of conventional farmers in Wates Village to an organic farming system is a long process. The fairly long transition process is due to the different treatments of both conventional and organic farming systems. The difference is from seeding to harvesting process which requires special, different treatment from conventional farming. Various obstacles must be passed by farmers to switch to organic farming systems. This research focuses on the construction of knowledge of organic farming which makes the farmers switch towards organic farming systems. The research used the social construction theory of Petter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann that would examine the construction of knowledge about organic farming among farmers in Wates Village. The research used a constructivist approach. The informants were determined by purposive sampling. Furthermore, data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that the organic rice farmers in Wates village experienced a construction process through knowledge of farming systems. The knowledge was from a variety of sources including books, the Agricultural Extension Agency, and farmer groups. The role of governments, NGOs and civil society greatly helped the transition process towards organic farming systems among farmers in Wates Village. Objective reality and subjective reality were experienced by farmers in Wates Village in the transition process. Keywords: Construction, Science, Farmers, Organic Rice

Abstract

The background of this research about environmental problems, such as loss of soil fertility, depletion of groundwater, river pollution, waste management, seem to be a phenomenon that is happening right now. Human dependence on nature is increasingly critical, but it is not balanced with an awareness of environmental preservation. The purpose of this research is to find out and describe the construction of women's ecological sustainability in Jember. This construction includes water management, power management, transportation use, and waste management. This study uses a qualitative method with interviews as a data collection technique. The informants of this study were selected from six villages in Jember, namely Karangrejo, Antirogo, Tegalgede, Kalisat, Sumbersari, and TegalBesar villages. This study uses a purposive method, especially housewives whose activities relate to these indicators. The results showed that women had limited knowledge construction about ecological sustainability. This construction develops based on daily experience and individual knowledge of the ecological preservation models around them. Therefore, household waste is often found scattered in the ecosystem.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify L-Men Ads critically through representations of five actors. It is done to dismantle the process of forming male masculinity images in L-Men advertisements through visual methods with the syntagmatic approach of Roland Barthes. Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis is used to find patterns and intrinsic elements of the masculinity that are built into advertising. The myths of masculine men are depicted by certain types of sports, accessories, hairstyles, clothing, clothing colors, handsome faces, muscular body shapes, fancy place settings, and sexy women. The characters that are considered masculine are man with a muscular body, a man whose sportsmanship, man as new warriors, and man as a hero. L'Men Gain Mass wants to create pseudo masculinity by incorporating ideological values ​​that blend with images, fantasies, and dreams. These values ​​have been built successfully through the role of Copy Writer, and Visualizer in packaging L'men Gain Mass products, which are then well communicated and mixed with consumerism ideology. The commodification of L'men Gain Mass milk has succeeded in building an image of male masculinity on dexterity, handsome face, and favored by women who are then internalized into the product. Abstract

Qur’an memorizer or commonly known as Hafidz Qur’an is currently getting quite intense attention from Moslem society in Indonesia, especially Moslem society in Jember. This positive acceptance can be seen from the development of tahfidz Qur’an program in various educational institutions in Jember and the number of educational scholarship offered to students who memorized Qur’an. This study aims to explain the social construction of the Hafidzah Qur’an in Jember with the use of constructivism method. The theory used is social construction that explains the formation of a society based on the knowledge they have through three simultaneous processes, namely, externalization, objectivation, and internalization. The result of this study is that the social construction of the moslem community in Jember shows positive acceptance of hafidzah Qur’an. It began with an externalizing moment when people found out about hafidz Qur’an through Islamic studies and television programs. Then the community formed the acceptance through the construction of tahfidz institution and the provision of scholarship to hafidz students in objectivation process, and finally it inspires the community to become hafidz and send their children to tahfidz institutions in the process of internalization. Abstract

One of the scholarship programs at the University of Jember, which annually provides a lot of quotas, is a scholarship through the Bidikmisi program, which is given to students who come from economically low-income families and a good history of achievement. As it is known that ideally, Bidikmisi students must behave, appear, and act according to the definition of Bidikmisi scholarship itself to prevent misunderstandings in the use of scholarship funds. But still, some Bidikmisi students at Jember University do not display the definition of 'ideal.' From this phenomenon, a question arises about 'Self-Concept of Bidikmisi Students at Jember University.' In this study, researchers used a qualitative descriptive approach, which aims to obtain information about the self-concepts of Bidikmisi students at Jember University. The theory used is symbolic interactionism by George Herbert Mead, where the theory explains that a person is seen as an actor who interprets, evaluates, defines, acts, and tells about the use of symbols as a form of interpretation in one's interactions with others or with groups. The symbols used cold become in the form of verbal or nonverbal. The results showed that there were two kinds of Bidikmisi students' self-concepts, namely positive concepts and negative concepts. Positive self-concept, namely (1) making parents proud, (2) getting high achievements and aspirations, (3) being responsible. Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyse religious values who ​​developed for students and their implementation their religious values at elementary school 5 and Madrasah Ibtidahya Terpadu Darul Ulum Lempuyang Bandar Way Pangubuan sub district. The researchers used qualitative research by using comparative studies. The result showed that in implementing religious values ​​are through school culture such as accustoming greetings in the school environment, providing exemplary, spontaneous greetings in the school environment. Abstract

Dalam masyarakat digital, warga negara tidak hanya menggunakan teknologi informasi sebagai alat untuk mendapatkan hiburan namun juga menjadi medium untuk berpartisipasi dalam ruang publik bahkan melakukan upaya pemberdayaan untuk kesejahteraan. Meskipun perkembangan e-commerce sebagai salah satu ciri masyarakat digital telah menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif seperti konsumerisme, eksploitasi besar-besaran terhadap alam serta masalah sampah elektronik namun era digital juga membuka peluang membangun kesadaran lingkungan melalui konsep kewarganegaraan ekologis. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya membangun kewarganegaraan ekologis melalui gagasan Kampoeng Recycle. Dalam upayanya, Kampoeng Recycle menerapkan beberapa strategi. Pertama, menerapkan trilogi konsep (eco-structures, eco-literacy dan eco-preneurship). Ketiga konsep ini saling berkaitan satu sama lain, meskipun eco-literacy menjadi kunci terpenting membangun kesadaran masyarakat. Kedua, melibatkan generasi muda baik mahasiswa relawan yang ingin terlibat dalam Kampoeng Recycle maupun aktivis GenBI yang aktif mensosialisasikan gagasan Kampoeng Recycle sejak awal. Ketiga, penggunaan media sosial untuk menyebarluaskan jaringan Kampoeng Recycle. Keempat, penggunaan media internet seperti website dan youtube untuk penyebarluasan gagasan. Strategi ini dilakukan dalam upaya membangun kesadaran, etika dan moral warga negara terhadap lingkungannya khususnya terkait masalah sampah. Harapannya adalah terwujudnya perilaku bertanggungjawab dalam mengelola dan melestarikan lingkungan pada setiap warga negara.Keywords: Kewarganegaraan Ekologis, Masyarakat Digital, Kampoeng Recycle

Abstract

The background of this research about environmental problems, such as loss of soil fertility, depletion of groundwater, river pollution, waste management, seem to be a phenomenon that is happening right now. Human dependence on nature is increasingly critical, but it is not balanced with an awareness of environmental preservation. The purpose of this research is to find out and describe the construction of women's ecological sustainability in Jember. This construction includes water management, power management, transportation use, and waste management. This study uses a qualitative method with interviews as a data collection technique. The informants of this study were selected from six villages in Jember, namely Karangrejo, Antirogo, Tegalgede, Kalisat, Sumbersari, and TegalBesar villages. This study uses a purposive method, especially housewives whose activities relate to these indicators. The results showed that women had limited knowledge construction about ecological sustainability. This construction develops based on daily experience and individual knowledge of the ecological preservation models around them. Therefore, household waste is often found scattered in the ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of youth and social capital in the Raung Tubing Adventure Tourism management. This research conducted in Sumberbulus Village, Ledokombo sub-district. By using social capital theory from Robert D. Putnam, this research elaborates three elements of social capital, namely trust, social networks, and norms. The result shows after revitalizing the Raung Tubing Adventure Tourism management, the social capital rises. It indicated by changing situation around the river. Firstly, people no longer throw garbage into the river. Secondly, youth no longer do harmful things. Thirdly, many actors in this village develop good relations with the village government, the Tourism Office and the Irrigation Service. The most important finding is the role of the Student Community Service Program from the University of Jember, who helped the youth villagers to build tubing tours from the beginning to the present. They help in terms of cleaning up rivers, making tubing grooves, inaugurating, and promoting tubing tourism, helping to find sponsors, and recording them in the Jember Tourism Office. Finally, we can underline that the youth also potential in building community-based tourism as proved in Sumberbulus Village, Ledokombo sub-district. Keywords: Social capital, youth role, Community Based Tourism Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pemuda dan modal sosial dalam pengelolaan Wisata Petualangan Raung Tubing. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Sumberbulus, Kecamatan Ledokombo. Dengan menggunakan teori modal sosial dari Robert D. Putnam bahwa penelitian ini menguraikan tiga elemen modal sosial, yaitu kepercayaan, jejaring sosial, dan norma. Hasilnya menunjukkan setelah merevitalisasi manajemen Wisata Petualangan Raung Tubing, modal sosial naik. Ini ditandai dengan perubahan situasi di sekitar sungai. Pertama, orang tidak lagi membuang sampah ke sungai. Kedua, remaja tidak lagi melakukan hal-hal yang berbahaya. Ketiga, banyak aktor di desa ini mengembangkan hubungan baik dengan pemerintah desa, Dinas Pariwisata dan Dinas Pengairan. Temuan yang paling penting adalah peran Program Layanan Komunitas Mahasiswa dari Universitas Jember, yang membantu para pemuda desa untuk membangun tur tubing dari awal hingga sekarang. Mereka membantu dalam hal membersihkan sungai, membuat alur tubing, melantik, mempromosikan pariwisata tubing, membantu mencari sponsor, dan mencatatkannya di Kantor Pariwisata Jember. Akhirnya, kita dapat menggarisbawahi bahwa pemuda juga berpotensi dalam membangun pariwisata berbasis masyarakat seperti yang dibuktikan di Desa Sumberbulus, Kecamatan Ledokombo. Abstract

This research is motivated by managing the natural resources of the people living in the Tulungagung Indonesian Marble Industry environment (IMIT). IMIT mining causes water, soil, and air pollution. The relationship between IMIT and the surrounding community formed the social construction of the IMIT process, which was rejected, accepted, and even now can be established cooperation. Communities living in the IMIT environment can survive by utilizing waste that pollutes the environment or as a marble miner. The knowledge possessed by the community towards the environment influences social actions. This study aims to describe and analyze the social construction of marble miners in the climate "Industri Marmer Indonesia Tulungagung (IMIT)," located in Besole Village, Besuki district, Tulungagung Regency. By using qualitative research methods, the technique used in determining informants is purposive sampling. The results showed that some community knowledge is constructed and influences the social actions of the community in the surrounding environment. Keywords: Social Construction, Marble Mining, Environment Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pengelolaan sumber daya alam masyarakat yang tinggal di lingkungan Industri Marmer Indonesia (IMIT) Tulungagung. Penambangan IMIT menyebabkan pencemaran air, tanah dan udara. Hubungan antara IMIT dengan masyarakat sekitar membentuk konstruksi sosial dari proses IMIT yang ditolak, kemudian diterima bahkan saat ini dapat terjalin kerjasama. Masyarakat yang tinggal di lingkungan IMIT memiliki strategi bertahan hidup dengan memanfaatkan limbah yang mencemari lingkungan atau sebagai penambang marmer. Pengetahuan yang dimiliki masyarakat terhadap lingkungan mempengaruhi tindakan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis konstruksi sosial penambang marmer tentang lingkungan “Industri Marmer Indonesia Tulungagung (IMIT)” yang berlokasi di Desa Besole Kecamatan Besuki Kabupaten Tulungagung. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam menentukan informan adalah purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa pengetahuan masyarakat yang terbangun dan mempengaruhi tindakan sosial masyarakat di lingkungan sekitarnya.
