Abstract

Natural fiber particle board (biocomposite) can be used as an alternative to conventional materials because it is environmentally friendly, a renewable source and is naturally biodegradable. This research presents a study on the mechanical and physical characterization of natural fiber reinforced polymer particle board, namely coconut coir and coconut shell. The fixed variable in this study was the number of matrix fractions, namely epoch resin. The variable mass fraction of the particle board in this study was coconut coir:coconut shell:epoxy was PP1 (30:0:70), PP2 (22,5:7,5:70), PP3 (15:15:70), PP4 (7,5:22,5:70), and PP5 (0:30:70). Particle board was tested for flexibility using the Universal Testing Machine referring to ASTM D 7-90-03, the impact toughness of the samples using the Impact Tester machine referring to ASTM D 6110. The samples were tested for density and thickness expansion referring to SNI 03-2105-2006. The results of the sample testing showed that the optimum density value for the PP3 sample was 1.05 g/cm3 for the reinforced coconut coir and coconut shell samples. The test results for the optimum impact toughness test value on the PP5 sample were 3.20 J/cm2 and the test results for the optimum flexural strength test value on the PP5 sample were 382.29 Kgf/cm2 with the coconut shell reinforced sample.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Education through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model at SMA Negeri 1 Kluet Tengah. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, with each cycle including planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 32 eleventh-grade students. Data were collected through achievement tests, observation sheets, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to measure the improvement of students’ cognitive learning outcomes, while qualitative data were analyzed to examine changes in student engagement and participation during the learning process. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. In the pre-cycle stage, only 46.88% of students achieved the minimum mastery criterion (MMC) with a mean score of 68.75. In Cycle I, mastery increased to 71.88% with a mean score of 76.34. The improvement became more substantial in Cycle II, where 90.63% of students met the MMC with a mean score of 84.21. Observational data also showed enhanced student engagement, critical thinking, and collaborative participation during learning activities. The results demonstrate that the Discovery Learning model effectively fosters active learning, conceptual understanding, and higher-order thinking skills in Islamic Education. This study contributes empirically to the growing body of research supporting student-centered pedagogical approaches in Islamic Education at the secondary school level. It is recommended that Islamic Education teachers integrate Discovery Learning strategies systematically to enhance both cognitive achievement and student engagement.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis pada balita yang berdampak jangka panjang terhadap pertumbuhan fisik, perkembangan kognitif, serta kualitas sumber daya manusia. Upaya pencegahan stunting memerlukan intervensi promotif dan preventif melalui peningkatan pengetahuan ibu sebagai pengasuh utama anak. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berupa penyuluhan pencegahan stunting pada balita yang dilaksanakan di Posyandu Kelurahan Tanjung Rhu Kota Pekanbaru. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, diskusi interaktif, tanya jawab, serta pembagian media edukasi berupa leaflet. Materi penyuluhan mencakup pengertian stunting, faktor penyebab, dampak stunting pada balita, serta upaya pencegahan melalui pemberian ASI eksklusif, MPASI bergizi seimbang, kebersihan lingkungan, dan pemantauan tumbuh kembang secara rutin. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman ibu balita terkait konsep stunting dan langkah pencegahannya, yang ditunjukkan melalui kemampuan peserta menjelaskan kembali materi setelah penyuluhan. Partisipasi peserta selama kegiatan berlangsung tergolong aktif dan responsif. Dengan terlaksananya kegiatan ini, penyuluhan kesehatan terbukti berperan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran ibu balita tentang pencegahan stunting, sehingga diharapkan dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari guna mendukung tumbuh kembang balita secara optimal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh konten promosi kuliner terhadap peningkatan customer trust di kalangan followers Instagram @kulinerpku. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksplanatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada followers akun Instagram @kulinerpku. Berdasarkan rumus Slovin, diperoleh sebanyak 399 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konten promosi memiliki pengaruh sebesar 60,3% terhadap customer trust di kalangan followers Instagram @kulinerpku. Selain itu, setiap penambahan satu satuan pada variabel konten promosi akan meningkatkan nilai variabel customer trust sebesar 0,839 + 0,463.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the observation that many students experience difficulties in comprehending recount texts. A quasi-experimental design was employed involving an experimental group taught using the Jigsaw strategy with picture media and a control group taught using conventional methods. The population consisted of tenth-grade students of Darul Fattah Islamic Boarding School, with 40 students selected as the sample. A multiple-choice reading comprehension test was administered as pre-test and post-test, and the data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The findings revealed that the experimental group showed significantly better improvement than the control group. The results indicate that the Jigsaw strategy with picture media effectively enhances students’ reading comprehension of recount texts and can be considered an alternative approach in teaching reading.
