Abstract

Assessment plays a crucial role in the process of acquiring a foreign language. Assessments are crucial to conduct in order to ascertain enhancements in student learning. The assessment results can serve as a guide for creating impactful learning activities for students. Teachers need to conduct diagnostic assessments as part of the emancipated curriculum in order to ascertain students' characteristics, learning styles, and learning needs. Differentiated instruction was implemented to accommodate the diverse characteristics and learning styles of students. This approach enables students to select learning methods that align with their individual learning style. Implementing differentiated instruction will result in the implementation of differentiated assessment by teachers. Teachers must adapt the assessment process based on the specific instructions for each individual learning style. Therefore, the objective of this research is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the needs of students and teachers throughout the learning process, with the aim of facilitating the development of differentiated assessment instrument for educators.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to create an authentic assessment rubric using Problem-Based Learning (PBL) based learning, project-based learning (PjBl), and discovery learning, three 21st-century learning strategies. This study employed the Richey and Klein (2007) design and development (DnD) approach, which has four stages: analysis, design, development, and evaluation, or ADDE. The participants in this study were a senior high school English instructor and 11th graders. The data was gathered using a variety of tools, including surveys, interviews, and document analyses, and was then examined using a mixed technique. Instructions for instructors and students as well as the proper assessment methods were included in the created rubric. The developed rubric then produced an appropriate and unique product that is in line with the syntax of each teaching method. It has been specifically adapted for the learning objectives, topics, themes, teaching strategies, from the expert's examination, it can be concluded that the product developed can be categorized as a superior rubric that is suitable for learning English

Abstract

This research explores the development of English e-storybooks integrated with the Emancipated Learning curriculum for first-grade students at SDN 3 Banjar Jawa. Following the Design and Development (D&D) model, specifically the ADDE (Analyze, Design, Development, and Evaluation) framework, the study employs a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. The research addresses the dearth of supplementary materials and the limited use of e-storybooks in the context of Emancipated Learning. The process involves a systematic analysis of needs, the design of a comprehensive blueprint, the development of e-storybooks, and an evaluation based on expert judgment, teacher assessments, and student feedback. The results indicate that the developed e-storybooks align with curriculum objectives and exhibit excellence in material development principles. The findings emphasize the potential of e-storybooks in enhancing language skills and supporting 21st-century learning principles. The research contributes valuable insights for educators, researchers, and curriculum developers interested in creating effective digital resources tailored to specific educational contexts.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze English teaching materials that integrated cross-cultural and peace education, with a focus on speaking skills at the junior high school level. The method used was basic qualitative with document studies to obtain the data. The objects in this research were two books each from three different curricula, namely the 2006 KTSP curriculum, the 2013 curriculum, and the Merdeka curriculum. Two books per curriculum were sufficient to reflect important elements of the research topic, allowing for in-depth analysis without requiring excessive resources and time. The research instruments consisted of an observation sheet, comprehensive notes, and the researcher as the instrument. Data was collected by carrying out thematic analysis, with Inductive Thematic Analysis used to analyze the possibility of themes emerging from the data itself, not determined by pre-existing theories or expectations. The results showed that the 2006 KTSP curriculum provided a strong foundation but required additional interactive elements to deepen cultural understanding and improve speaking skills. The 2013 curriculum offered a more engaging approach but faced challenges in terms of consistency and support. The Independent Curriculum excelled at integrating cultural context and practical application but required effective monitoring and assessment to fully realize its potential. It was concluded that each curriculum had its own advantages and limitations.
