Abstract

In today's educational landscape, digital learning has emerged as a new learning model. Students prefer videos on YouTube and other technology-enabled language learning platforms. YouTube, as one of the most prominent social media platforms in today's globe, also has an impact on education. Technology that is integrated into students' life can give valuable input, particularly in enabling and strengthening English language knowledge and skills. This article presents qualitative study on students' perspectives of how learning English through YouTube is good and helps them learn English. This study included students from SMP 4 Parepare who utilized YouTube as an English learning medium, and data was gathered through interviews using a case study design. The findings of this study revealed that all students have numerous advantages in improving their English language skills, and that it is easily accessible on practically every student's device and can be utilized in any setting to assist and motivate them to learn English. Students only have troubles if their internet connection is poor. All pupils expressed satisfaction with the use of the YouTube application to learn English.Keywords: language learning, students’ perception, gadget, social media

Abstract

Daerah Irigasi Samal memiliki luas potensial 4.717 ha yang terdiri dari Samal Kanan dengan luas potensi 2.217 ha dan Samal Kiri dengan luas potensi 2.500 ha. Akan tetapi dari luas tersebut hanya Daerah Irigasi Samal Kanan yang berfungsi seluas 2648.80 ha. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air luas lahan fungsional tersebut harus diperhitungkan dengan memperhatikan neraca air pada DI Samal. Dalam penelitian ini akan diteliti tentang banyaknya debit yang tersedia maupun debit yang dibutuhkan pada Daerah Irigasi Samal. Perhitungan ketersediaan air dilakukan dengan menghitung debit andalan dengan menggunakan bangkitan data debit model NRECA. Debit andalan yang diperhitungkan menggunakan tiga skenario yaitu skenario basah dengan Q25, skenario normal dengan Q50 dan skenario kering dengan Q80. Sedangkan kebutuhan air disesuaikan dengan penggunaan air yang ada pada DI Samal yaitu untuk irigasi dan aliran pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi defisit pada beberapa minggu pada rencana neraca air tahunan skenario normal dan kering. Untuk itu perlu adanya skema pembagian / alokasi air yang tepat. Alokasi air ini disusun berdasarkan prioritas yaitu untuk irigasi kemudian aliran pemeliharaan. Untuk membantu pengalokasian tersebut, setiap petak sawah diberikan nilai faktor-K yang mengatur jumlah air yang masuk dan keluar petak sawah. Nilai faktor K < 1 maka pengalokasi air kurag dari kebutuhan air tiap petak sawah.

Abstract

Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) is a method for enhancing language teaching methods autonomously, utilizing language learning apps conveniently and flexibly. Engaging and interactive learning methods, such animation, images, and audio, can effectively communicate knowledge and enhance memory retention by being easily comprehensible and stimulating human senses. Innovative solutions are required to address the challenges of limited access, flexibility, and pedagogical assistance in Distance Education. This study utilizes the Design Based Research (DBR) technique to create Mobile Technology, a mobile application tailored for vocabulary acquisition. The development process consists of cycles of design, execution, and evaluation, emphasizing the requirements and environment of the learner. The implementation of VocUp Mobile Technology was successful and proven its efficiency in enhancing vocabulary proficiency. This program facilitates interactive and adaptable learning by incorporating elements that respond to user requirements and learning circumstances. Mobile technology has enhanced vocabulary acquisition by offering a more adaptable and convenient approach, addressing common obstacles in distance education. This facilitates the adoption of advanced and student-focused learning methods. This Mobile Technology provides a practical and efficient answer for vocabulary acquisition issues in a university setting, particularly in Distance Education. This program enhances language skills and promotes the creation of flexible and all-encompassing learning methods through its responsive and educational approach.

Abstract

This research, explores the interaction between two dominant leadership styles—transactional and transformational leadership—in modern organizational contexts. The study examines the affinities where these styles complement each other and the adversities that arise from their inherent differences. Through a detailed analysis of existing literature, this research highlights how transactional leadership is effective in ensuring operational stability and short-term goal attainment, while transformational leadership drives innovation, employee engagement, and long-term organizational change. The findings suggest that a synergistic approach, combining both leadership styles, can yield optimal results in complex environments. However, challenges arise when leaders switch between these contrasting approaches, leading to potential conflicts in motivation and employee satisfaction. This research concludes that leaders who can navigate both styles with flexibility are better equipped to meet the demands of contemporary organizations. The study offers insights into leadership development, emphasizing the need for adaptability in managing both structured tasks and inspiring change

Abstract

The new era confronts teachers with new tasks and obligations. The use of advanced technology has greatly improved the tradition of teaching English. Technology offers several options, such as making teaching more exciting and efficient. Technology is one of the most powerful drivers of social and linguistic change. As a result, it is necessary to use a learning medium that encourages students to be more enthusiastic about studying. This study intends to apply learning media with technology-assisted to students of SD Negeri Rutong, while also describing assessment media from professionals and users. The development approach utilized is Design and Development with the ADDIE research model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The results obtained in this research are 1) Interactive multimedia named "Oxford Let’s Go for Young Learners"; 2) Media expert assessment 89,5%, material experts 91,7%, learning experts 92,4% based on the three assessments then the developed media belongs to the category of "Excellent"; 3) The assessment of 21 students gets a percentage of 74.8% in the category of "Good" which shows students satisfied with the developed media as a medium in learning English. However, further research is needed to determine the usefulness of multimedia use as a learning tool.

Abstract

Di ruas jalan Saketa-Dehepodo terdapat lintasan sungai yang menyebabkan jalan terputus antara Desa Samat dan Desa Samo karena adanya sungai yang membelah/memisahkan kedua desa tersebut. Oleh karena itu di perlukan pembangunan jembatan karena merupakan salah satu jalan penunjang agar dapat memperlancar aktivitas masyarakat stempat khususnya transportasi yang menghubungkan dua desa berbatasan di pulau Halmahera, yaitu Desa Samat dan Desa Samo pada kedua kawassan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian mendimensi control kekuatan stabilitas pada abutment jembatan Ake Samo dan menganalisis besar dimensi, banyaknya tiang, dan mengetahui desain penulangan pada pilecap pondasi. Metode perhitungan menggunsksn metode kuantitaif dan berdasarkan SNI 1725-2016 dan SNI 2833-2016. Abutment direncanakan memiliki tinggi 7,000 m dengan pile cap berukuran 4,000 m x 8,500 m dan ketebalan pie cap 0,800 m. Pada pembesian pile cap digunakan tulangan lentur arah x dengan D25-200 (As= 20851.56 mm2), tulangan lentur arah y dengan D25-200 (As=9812.5 mm2), dan tanpa menggunakan tulangan geser satu arah. Berdasarkan perhitungan pondasi, kedalaman tiang direncanakan dengan kedalaman 20,000 meter dengan jumlah tiang 21 tiang dengan diameter 0,40 meter dan dimana, daya dukungnya di peroleh sebesar 34,491 ton/tiang tunggal. Dari data hasil uji sondir pada kedalaman 16 m hingga 22 m memiliki nilai qc 250 kg/cm yang dimana jenis tanah ialah tanah keras. Dalam kondisi tanah seperti ini kondisi tanah termasuk kuat dan untuk penurunan dianggap tidak terjadi atau nilai penurunan sangat kecil.

Abstract

Ruas Jl. Jenderal Sudirman merupakan jalan utama dengan tipe jalan dua lajur – dua arah. Peneltian hanya berpusat pada ruas jalan di depan Mesjid Agung An-Nur, Batu Merah. Berdasarkan pengamatan peneliti bahwa, kendaraan yang melalui ruas jalan ini sangat padat, bahkan dapat terjadi kemacetan karena area wilayah tersebut merupakan jalan penghubung masuk keluar pusat kota, selain itu banyaknya pertokoan dan perumahan sehingga aktivitas parkir banyak menggunakan sebagian badan jalan yang menyebabkan terjadinya penyempitan lebar jalan efektif. Selain itu, kemacetan juga disebabkan oleh penyeberang jalan yang cukup padat di area penelitian yang menjadi inti dari penelitian ini. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui dan mengkaji kinerja ruas Jl. Jenderal Sudirman yang ditinjau dari volume arus lalu lintas, kapasitas, dan derajat kejenuhan, serta mengetahui pengaruh penyeberang jalant terhadap kinerja jalan, serta mengetahui kebutuhan fasilitas penyeberangan yang memadai pada ruas Jl. Jenderal Sudirman. Sedangkan metode yang digunakan yaitu metode MKJI 1997 dengan mengumpulkan data primer berupa geometrik jalan, volume arus lalu lintas, hambatan samping, kecepatan kendaraan, volume penyeberang jalan, kecepatan penyeberang jalan, dokumentasi kemacetan yang diperoleh langsung dari lokasi penelitian dan data sekunder berupa data jumlah penduduk. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada ruas Jl. Jenderal Sudirman diperoleh arus lalu lintas maksimum terjadi pada hari Rabu sebesar 4102,95smp/jam yang terjadi pukul 18.00 – 1 9.00 sedangkan untuk kapasitas yaitu sebesar 2298.22smp/jam dan derajat kejenuhan sebesar 1.79 dimana untuk nilai derajat kejenuhan tersebut lebih besar dari standar derajat kejenuhan untuk jalan perkotaan yaitu sebesar 0.75, kecepatan rata – rata yang diperoleh adalah 13.71 km/jam. Dari hasil analisis volume penyeberang jalan (P) dan volume kendaraan, ditemukan bahwa untuk menunjang keselamatan para pejalan kaki dan kelancaran arus lalu lintas berdasarkan perhitungan faktor koreksi kendaraan direkomendasikan dengan menggunakan fasilitas penyeberangan pelican dengan pelindung.

Abstract

This research uses qualitative methods. Qualitative methods are more relevant to use in studying interviews which are structurally in the form of writing and oral speech. To obtain a deeper analysis, the author also examines the context using interview, observation and focus group discussion (FGD) methods and ethnographic methods which aim to describe culture from the perspective of the owner of that culture. Therefore, this method is the most important and dominant method applied In this research, interviews were conducted with traditional figures, in this case figures who have royal lineages, traditional leaders, local saniri. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been obtained, it can be concluded that the Folklore of the Rutong State Community has local wisdom values ​​in it. . This matter known starting from the value of prosperity in creating peace for the people of Rutong country. There are 9 types of local welfare wisdom consisting of Discipline, Work Culture, Education, Health, Cultural Preservation and Creativity, Environmental Care, Mutual Cooperation and Gender Management. Abstract

In general, drainage is defined as a series of water structures that reduce and remove excess water from an area or land so that the land can function optimally. If drainage is problematic, it will result in puddles on the highway's surface. One of the highways that experience inundation due to problematic drainage is Wolter Monginsidi Street in Passo, Baguala District, Ambon City. The old drainage is damaged and the channel dimensions are small. So that the drainage channel is remade on the road. The old drainage channel is 894 m long, 78 cm wide and 76 cm high. In comparison, the new existing drainage channel has a length of 894 m, a width of 120 cm, and a height of 120 cm using 16-20 mm reinforcement. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the drainage channel on Jalan Wolter Monginsidi Passo, Baguala District, Ambon City to determine the dimensions of the existing channel, population growth, and disposal of household sewage entering the drainage channel and runoff discharge on the highway. Based on the calculation, the number of residents in the 10th year (the year 2032) is as many as 1,165 people, with the amount of discharge water (Qb) = 0, 00023283 m3 / s / ha, runoff discharge (Qr) = 0.00467 m3 / s, channel discharge (Qs) = 2.796480 m3 / s with a difference of 2.791783 m3 / s. So that the capacity of the drainage channel meets and is feasible to use

Abstract

Dinding penahan merupakan salah satu teknik pengendalian tanah yang sangat diperlukan untuk menanggulangi kelongsoran, seperti yang terjadi pada Jalan Baru Kate – Kate Desa Hunut Kecamatan Teluk Ambon yang dibangun pada tahun 2023 dengan panjang 82 m. Berdasarkan Ruas Jalan Baru Kate – Kate terdapat kerusakan dinding penahan tanah dengan panjang 42 m yang di akibat karena tekanan lateral tanah aktif yang cukup besar sehingga tidak dapat menahan gaya faktor guling, dan faktor geser yang bekerja pada dinding penahan tanah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menghasilkan angka keamanan (Safety Faktor) guling dan (Safety Faktor) geser dan jenis dinding penahan tanah yang cocok untuk digunakan. Dalam perhitungan tekanan tanah menggunakan Metode Rankine serta perhitungan stabilitas terhadap keruntuhan kapasitas dukung tanah dihitung berdasarkan persamaan Terzhagi. Dari hasil analisa yang direncanakan dinding penahan tanah bertipe kantilever dengan dimensi dinding penahan tanah sebagai berikut, tinggi = 7,5 m, tinggi kovor = 1,5 m, lebar atas = 0,4 m, lebar dasar = 4 m, tebal kaki = 0,9 m dan tumit = 0,9 m, stabilitas terhadap Fsgeser = 1,80 > 1,5, stabilitas terhadap Fsguling = 2,69 > 1,5 dan stabilitas terhadap daya dukung dengan σmax = 124,992 kN/m2 > σmin = 76,608 kN/m2. Dari hitungan tersebut diperoleh penulangan tulangan bagi D19-120 untuk tulangan utama D19 da tulangan bagi D19-275.
