Abstract

This study examined the effect of a structured traditional games intervention on gross motor skills, physical fitness, and social skills among elementary students. A quantitative quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was applied to 57 fifth-grade students (aged 10–11 years) at SD Telkom Padang, Indonesia. The intervention consisted of selected traditional games conducted over six weeks (three sessions per week, 70 minutes each). Gross motor skills were measured using TGMD-2, physical fitness using the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI), and social skills using the SSRS teacher rating scale. Data were analyzed using MANOVA to examine simultaneous effects across variables. Results showed a significant multivariate effect (Pillai’s Trace = 0.415, F = 25.993, p < 0.05; η²p = 0.415). Univariate tests indicated significant improvements in gross motor skills (F = 56.959; η²p = 0.337), physical fitness (F = 41.011; η²p = 0.268), and social skills (F = 58.553; η²p = 0.343). These findings suggest that structured traditional games can support multidimensional student development in physical education.

Abstract

Motor skills are the foundation for early childhood development, playing an active role in learning readiness, health, and behavior. However, changes in lifestyle have made children increasingly dependent on digital technology, leading to reduced outdoor play time. This situation impacts children's opportunities to develop coordination, muscle strength, and body balance. This study aims to review, analyze, and identify the extent to which outdoor play activities contribute to early childhood motor skills. A systematic review method was used with PRISMA guidelines. Eight articles met the inclusion criteria from the Scopus, PubMed, and ScienceDirect search platforms. The review findings conveyed that outdoor play activities improve children's balance, body coordination, and motor skills. This positive impact is supported by factors such as activity duration, play environment, and parents. This study shows that outdoor play activities are an effective experience-based educational strategy to promote motor development and the overall well-being of early childhood children.

Abstract

Reproductive health education plays a crucial role in enhancing students' understanding of the biological, psychological, and social aspects of reproductive health. However, conventional learning often faces challenges such as time constraints, a lack of interactivity, and limited access to materials. In the digital era, web-based learning media offer innovative solutions by utilizing interactive technologies, such as videos, quizzes, and discussion forums, to increase student engagement. This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of web-based interactive learning media for reproductive health education through expert validation. The research method used a Research and Development (R&D) approach, adopting the Borg & Gall model. The feasibility test phase involved six experts from the fields of materials, technology, evaluation, and education. The instruments used were a Likert-scale questionnaire and feedback sheets. The developed media included interactive features such as educational videos, quizzes, materials, and discussion forums. The expert validation results showed an excellent feasibility rating (87.44%). The findings of this study indicate that this web-based interactive learning media for reproductive health education is valid for use. Its main advantages lie in its flexibility, privacy, and appropriate media approach for sensitive topics. With these advantages, this media is not only valid but also has great potential to increase reproductive health literacy, combat misinformation and myths, and ultimately reduce risky behavior among students.

Abstract

Research on outdoor play activities (OPA) and early childhood motor skills has received considerable attention due to its significant role in supporting children's physical, cognitive, and social development. However, the global literature has not been comprehensively mapped over a long period. This study aims to analyze the trends, structure, and dynamics of OPA research during the period 2006–2026. The study uses a bibliometric approach. Data were obtained from the Scopus database, consisting of 211 systematically selected publications, and then analyzed using VOSviewer software through visualization of collaboration networks, co-citations, and keyword co-occurrences. The study findings indicate that the highest number of publications in 2021 was 25, with a significant increasing trend since 2018. Dominant keywords include children, motor skills, physical activity, and outdoor play, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of health, education, and the environment. Influential authors and publications have largely focused on the importance of social and environmental factors on children's physical activity (Brown et al., 2009, Xue et al., 2007, and Boldemann et al., 2006). Research collaboration is strongest in developed countries such as the United States, Australia, and Canada, while contributions from developing countries remain limited. This study demonstrates that OPA has evolved into a multidisciplinary field that supports holistic child development. In practice, stronger global collaboration can be achieved through international research partnerships and shared data platforms, while local exploration should involve culturally relevant play programs and community-based interventions, particularly in developing countries, to generate context-specific evidence and inform education and health policy.

Abstract

This quantitative research utilizes the path analysis method to examine the direct and indirect effects of various physical components on the speed of a straight kick. The study's population consisted of 50 athletes from Pencak Silat Satria Muda Indonesia, from which a sample of 32 individuals was selected using a Random Sampling technique. The research results definitively showed a significant influence across all tested paths. The largest direct contribution came from Leg Explosive Power (12.96%), followed by Flexibility (12.18%) and Coordination (8.82%). Significantly, Coordination was proven to be a key mediator, channeling a substantial indirect influence from both Leg Explosive Power (20.61%) and Flexibility (15.13%). Ultimately, the collaboration of these three exogenous variables resulted in a simultaneous influence of 33.96%, proving that straight kick speed is the result of a synergistic system of physical components rather than stand-alone factors. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between achievement motivation and the performance of soccer players at SSB Perisai in Payakumbuh. This study employs a quantitative descriptive approach using a correlational method. The study population consisted of 35 players, with a sample of 20 selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was a achievement motivation questionnaire with a Likert scale covering aspects of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Data analysis techniques included the Liliefors normality test and product-moment correlation analysis. The results indicate a significant relationship between achievement motivation and player performance, with a correlation coefficient of 0.781—greater than the critical value of 0.444 at a significance level of α = 0.05. This suggests that the higher a player’s achievement motivation, the better their performance. Thus, achievement motivation plays a crucial role in enhancing soccer players’ performance.
