Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop of Moodle LMS-Based interactive learning media at SMAIT Ulil Albab Batam Class XI in physics subject. The research used descriptive method which aims to capture and present the desired facts, realities, symptoms, and events appropriately. The research involved 48 SMAIT Ulil Albab Batam students and 31 Physics MGMP subject teachers in Batam City.  The questionnaire developed consisted of 18 question items for students and 19 question items for teachers based on four indicators then analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The result showed that the average 3.40 for students and average 3.38 for teachers which is categorized as very high, it is necessary to develop interactive learning media as learning media.

Abstract

Water pollution from manufacturing waste and air pollution from forest and land fires are major environmental issues in the Siak district. This research aimed at gathering empirical data by implementing a real-action project based on SSCS learning to enhance sustainability awareness of Junior High School. This quasi-experiment was carried out in two groups of students in 7th grade of SMPN 1 Koto Gasib, Siak, Riau Province. The experimental class used the SSCS learning model with the ESD approach and the control class applied the scientific learning model. Indicators of sustainability awareness comprise: 1) Sustainability Practice Awareness; 2) Behavioral and Attitude Awareness; and 3) Emotional Awareness. Real-action project that is implemented by the teacher in this research is conducted to promote sustainability awareness in the form of a water purification model, planting pollution-absorbing plants, and creating Eco-brick flower pots. Data analysis uses inferential statistics, namely the T-test using SPSS-26 software. The analysis results of sustainability awareness indicate that students in the experimental class get a higher average of 76%, with the high category. Meanwhile, students in the control class get an average of 65% in the medium category. The T-test analysis of sustainability awareness gets a significance value of 0,002.  0,05, which indicates that there is a significant difference between experimental and control classes. The implementation of SSCS learning model using ESD approach can enhance the students’ sustainability awareness through environmental problem-solving activities, as well as building knowledge, behavior, and attitudes of love for the environment.

Abstract

Scientific literacy of Pacu Jalur is the ability to understand physics concepts and processes integrated into local culture and wisdom in Rantau Kuantan, Riau. The Pacu jalur competition is one of the cultures that has existed for generations in Teluk Kuantan, Riau and it has been identified that the Pacu jalur competition has scientific potential that can be explained scientifically. This research aims to identify the level of physics literacy in the Pacu Jalur Competition for students of SMA Negeri 1 in Teluk Kuantan. For this purpose, the type of research used is survey research with a quantitative descriptive approach. The sample in the study was 170 students consisting of 55 male students and 115 female students. The instrument in the study was a physics science literacy test on Pacu Jalur which consisted of 7 multiple choice items with a reliability coefficient of KR-20 of .86. Descriptive analysis techniques were used to obtain the level of literacy in the Physics of Pacu Jalur in the sub-context of the Pacu Jalur competition. The results of the descriptive and inferential analysis show that the physics literacy level of Pacu Jalur students has an average total score of 33.73. Based on gender, it was identified that male students had better physics science literacy skills than female students with an average score of 34.54 for male students while 32.92 for female students. However, the differences in scores based on gender are not significant. Overall, it can be concluded that the physics literacy level of SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan students in the Pacu Jalan competition is still in the very low category and gender does not affect the level of scientific literacy of students.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' scientific literacy skills by using the Project-based learning (PjBL) learning model integrated with the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) approach in class XI MS 3 students at SMAN Plus, Riau Province. The research used the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with a total of 29 students, which was carried out in two cycles, with each PTK cycle consisting of five steps, namely: 1) localizing the problem, 2) planning, 3) action and observation, 4) analyzing data, and 5) reflection. The scientific literacy studied includes 3 competencies, namely explaining phenomena, interpreting, evaluating, and designing scientific investigations. The results of the analysis of students' scientific literacy abilities from the comparison of cycle I and cycle II showed an increase in scientific literacy scores, namely from 64.3 to 72.1. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the application of the PjBL-STEM learning model is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills in learning Physics, especially in class XI MS 3 SMA Plus Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This development research aims to test physics learning media on alternative energy materials that have been designed and tested. The type of research used is Research and Development adapted from the theory of Borg and Gall. The learning media developed consists of experimental projects and project use books. The alternative energy media that has been developed consists of 3 projects, namely simple garden lights, simple watermills, and simple windmills. Data collection was carried out through practicality assessment sheets assessed by teachers and students. Aspects of the experimental project assessed include aspects of ease of use of tools and materials, ease of understanding the material, ease of packaging tools, usefulness, safety, and attractiveness. Meanwhile, the assessment aspect for the project use book includes the feasibility aspect of presentation, content accuracy, language feasibility, and display feasibility. The results of the practicality of the experimental project by teachers and students obtained an average score of >3 while the average results of the practicality of the book use of the project by teachers and students obtained an average score of >3. Thus, it can be concluded that alternative energy learning media is declared practical as a class X high school physics learning media.

Abstract

This research intends to look at the level of scientific literacy of high school students through learning based on the Pacu Jalur Tradition. Quasi-experiment was used as a method in this research with a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The population in this search was class XI students of SMAN 1 Teluk Kuantan, totaling 143 people. There were 71 students as samples for this research divided into experimental class and control class. Learning with an approach based on the Pacu Jalur Tradition is implemented in the experimental class, while conventional learning is applied in the control class. The research instrument was a scientific literacy test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions arranged based on scientific literacy competencies according to PISA 2018. The scientific literacy post-test was carried out after learning about the dynamics of rectilinear motion had been completed in both classes. Data from the scientific literacy post-test results were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results of data processing show that there is a difference in the mean score of the experimental class, namely 74.29 (good category), and the mean score of the control class of 57.08 (enough category). The Independent Sample t-test carried out obtained sig. 0.00<0.05. The results of this research prove that the use of a learning approach based on the Pacu Jalur Tradition is effective in increasing the scientific literacy of senior high school students.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan ICT merupakan salah satu solusi untuk mengahadapi tantangan pembelajaran saat ini khususnya pembelajaran daring. Guru-guru SMP Sederajat di Bengkalis banyak yang mengalami kesulitan dalam merancang dan menggunakan menggunakan media salah satunya aplikasi pendukung pembelajaran dalam membuat instrumen untuk pembelajaran disekolah, sehingga masih banyak guru yang hanya melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran secara monoton, menyampaikan materi dan memberi tugas. Kemampuan guru-guru dalam mengelola aplikasi penunjang pembelajaran sangat diperlukan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Berdasarkan fakta tersebut, Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika FKIP Universitas Riau melakukan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang sasarannya adalah guru-guru SMP Se-Kabupaten Bengkalis dalam mengoptimalisasikan pemanfaatan Aplikasi pembuat intrument tes interaktif. Persiapan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli – Oktober 2021. Instrumen tes yang dilatih adalah kahoot, educandy, dan quizizz. Pemilihan instrumen ini didasarkan pada kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing instrumen. Hasil pelatihan instrumen tes yang interaktif menggunakan aplikasi pada tingkat SMP Se-Kabupaten Bengkalis yang telah dilaksanakan melalui zoom meeting diperoleh bahwa peserta mengikuti pelatihan ini dengan baik, antusias, memberikan respon positif, lebih termotivasi untuk melaksanakannya dan sangat mengharapkan dapat dilaksanakan secara kontinu. Peserta dapat menggunakan Aplikasi dalam membuat instrument tes yang interaktif tersebut dan sangat menambah wawasan serta keterampilan guru dalam membuat instrument tes interaktif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas aplikai PhET terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi gelombang berjalan dan gelombang stasioner. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain posttest only control design. Populasi penelitian ini mencakup seluruh siswa kelas XI SMAN 9 Pekanbaru tahun akademis 2022/2023 dengan sampel kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal pilihan ganda yang berjumlah 25 butir soal. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan uji t jenis independent sample t-test menggunakan bantuan SPSS. Hasil analisis diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen adalah 81,67 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol adalah 72,22. Rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siswa yang menggunakan aplikasi PhET dalam pembelajaran fisika pada materi gelombang berjalan dan gelombang stasioner lebih tinggi daripada kelas yang melakukan pembelajaran secara konvensional. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam pembelajaran fisika, aplikasi PhET efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' creative thinking and written communication skills through the application of project-based learning methods (PjBL) on alternative energy materials. The study was conducted at MAN 2 Pekanbaru City, class X.5, involving 36 students. This classroom action research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. The instruments used included teaching modules, student worksheets (LKPD), observation sheets, and test questions. The results showed a significant increase in students' creative thinking skills. In cycle I, the fluency indicator reached 76%, flexibility 73%, originality 36%, and elaboration 63%. In cycle II, each indicator increased to 78%, 87%, 76%, and 87%. Written communication skills also increased, with the dimension of changing the form of data presentation increasing from 72% in cycle I to 78% in cycle II, and the accuracy of using tables and graphs from 79% to 87%. The PjBL method provides opportunities for students to be actively involved in learning through project activities that encourage creative thinking and effective communication. The results of this study indicate that the PjBL method is effective in improving students' cognitive and communication skills, although it requires further adjustments related to classroom management.
