Abstract

ASEAN countries continue to face challenges in reducing their dependence on fossil fuels despite rapid economic growth and the ongoing global energy transition. This study examines how government expenditure, trade openness, and economic growth influence fossil fuel energy consumption in six ASEAN countries. Understanding the macroeconomic dynamics that drive fossil fuel use is critical for achieving international climate targets under the Paris Agreement, particularly as the region is among the fastest-growing in terms of energy demand and serves as a major global industrial base. Using panel data for the period 2001–2024 and a fixed effects model (FEM), the results show that economic growth has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on fossil fuel consumption, while trade openness and government expenditure have positive and statistically significant effects. These variables jointly explain approximately 98.28% of the variation, indicating that trade integration and fiscal expansion play a more dominant role than economic growth alone. These findings suggest that ASEAN’s reliance on fossil fuels is closely linked to trade dynamics and fiscal policy. Therefore, for regional economic integration to support the transition toward a sustainable energy system, trade and government spending policies must be aligned with energy efficiency and sustainability objectives.

Abstract

Open unemployment remains one of the most persistent socioeconomic challenges in Indonesia, despite continuous improvements in macroeconomic performance and labor market policies. This study investigates the effects of Average Length of Schooling (ALS), Minimum Wage (MW), and Economic Growth (EG) on the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in Indonesia over the 2015–2024 period. A descriptive-verificative quantitative approach was employed using annual secondary data obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with EViews software. Prior to hypothesis testing, the model was evaluated through classical assumption tests, while the significance of the relationships was assessed using the t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The empirical findings indicate that, individually, Average Length of Schooling and Minimum Wage do not have a statistically significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate. In contrast, Economic Growth has a significant negative effect, indicating that higher economic growth contributes to lower unemployment levels by expanding employment opportunities and stimulating productive economic activities. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence the Open Unemployment Rate, with an R² value of 0.82, suggesting that the model explains approximately 82% of the variation in unemployment during the study period. These findings emphasize that sustainable economic growth remains the primary driver of employment creation, whereas education and wage policies require stronger alignment with labor market demands. The study provides empirical evidence for policymakers to formulate integrated, inclusive, and sustainable employment strategies that enhance workforce competitiveness and support long-term economic development.

Abstract

Abstract

21st-century education emphasizes student-centered learning that develops various competencies, including cultural literacy. The low level of cultural literacy among elementary school students indicates that existing models and supporting media have not effectively developed this competence. The RADEC learning model, supported by cultural heritage animation videos, is expected to serve as an alternative for creating learning experiences that are more active, contextual, and meaningful. This study aims to analyze the impact of the RADEC learning model—supported by cultural heritage animation videos—on elementary school students' cultural literacy skills. A quasi-experimental, non-equivalent group design was employed, and data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0. A cultural literacy skills questionnaire served as the research instrument. The results indicate: (1) a significant effect of the RADEC learning model (supported by cultural heritage animation videos) on students' cultural literacy skills, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05). The average N-Gain score for the experimental class—which received the RADEC learning model treatment supported by cultural heritage animation videos—was 56.4603 (or 56.5%). These results demonstrate that implementing the RADEC learning model supported by cultural heritage animation videos effectively enhances students' cultural literacy skills. Furthermore, the Independent-Samples T-Test results (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000 < 0.05) confirm the model's significant impact on cultural literacy skills. At the same time, the average N-Gain score of 56.4603 (56.5%) indicates the model's effectiveness in improving these skills.
