Abstract

The use of agricultural mechanization has greatly contributed to the modernization of agricultural systems in many developing countries, including Indonesia. One implementation of agricultural modernization is the application of agricultural mechanization in the food estate program in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The adoption of agricultural mechanization is a determinant of the implementation of agricultural mechanization in the food estate area. However, the problem is that the speed of adoption of agricultural mechanization by farmers in the food estate area is still varied. The purpose of this research is to test the validity and reliability of the questionnaire in the study of agricultural mechanization adoption to support agricultural modernization in the food estate area of Central Kalimantan. This research was conducted using a quantitative research design with rice farmers who received the food estate program as the unit of analysis in the Pulang Pisau and Kapuas districts, Central Kalimantan. Data was collected purposively from 42 rice farmers in the food estate area by providing a questionnaire containing five indicators of agricultural mechanization adoption. The results showed that the questionnaires were valid and reliable with correlation values (Pearson Correlation) for the five indicators of awareness, interest, evaluation, trial, and adoption with fifteen questions showing the value of R count > R table and declared valid. While Cronbach's Alpha value is 0.794-0.951. Meanwhile, Cronbach's Alpha value was 0.794-0.951. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that the questionnaire is valid and reliable.

Abstract

Forests contribute as important capital in national development with various strategic functions in the ecological, economic, and socio-cultural fields. In East Java Province, forest area management not only aims to preserve the environment, but also to improve the welfare of the community around the forest through the sustainable use of forest products. This management involves various stakeholders, including the Forestry Service (DISHUT), Perum Perhutani, and other related agencies. Synergy between stakeholders is needed to optimize the contribution of the forestry sub-sector to regional development, especially in supporting the preparation of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) which reflects the real economic value of forest products. Therefore, mapping the roles between stakeholders is important in creating effective and sustainable forestry governance in East Java. This study aims to analyze the role of stakeholders in the calculation of the GDP of the forestry sub-sector in East Java Province. This research uses a mixed method. The data sources for this study came from 4 informants and 61 respondents. The analysis was carried out quantitatively-descriptively and qualitatively through interactive models and role analysis. The results show that each stakeholder has a diverse role in the calculation of the GDP of the forestry sub-sector. The Forestry Service and BAPPEDA are the main actors (Key Players), while Perum Perhutani and BPS play the role of strategic supporters (Subjects). Inter-stakeholder collaboration is key to strengthening the real contribution of the forestry sector to regional economic development and sustainable forest management.
