Abstract

Melatih dan meningkatkan kemampuan HOTS siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi tidak cukup hanya dengan melaksanakan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa tetapi juga perlu mengembangkan instrumen penilaian berbasis HOTS yang layak dan berkualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan instrumen penilaian hasil belajar berbasis HOTS pada materi biologi semester ganjil kelas XI SMA. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model 4D dengan subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Kotapinang. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar angket validasi ahli dan angket respon guru. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kelayakan dan analisis kualitas tes. Penelitian ini menghasilkan instrumen penilaian hasil belajar berbasis HOTS pada materi biologi semester ganjil kelas XI SMA yang layak serta memiliki kualitas instrumen tes yang valid dengan rata-rata tingkat kesukaran tes tergolong sedang, daya pembeda tes tergolong baik serta reliabel dengan tingkat kehandalan yang sangat tinggi. Respon guru terhadap instrumen yang dikembangkan tergolong sangat baik. Temuan penelitian ini membawa implikasi bahwa untuk melatih dan mengembangkan kemampuan HOTS siswa, maka guru juga dituntut untuk kreatif dan inovatif dalam mengembangkan instrumen penilaian berbasis HOTS yang layak dan berkualitas untuk digunakan sebagai alat dalam mengukur kemampuan HOTS siswa. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the case method-based teaching module on ecosystem material in improving science learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN 107103 Lantasan Baru which is adjusted to the independent learning curriculum. This study is a type of research and development (Reasearch and Development) using the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The results of the study showed that the pre-test and post-test results showed an increase in the average learning outcome score of 29.3. The initial pre-test results showed an average student score of 54.7 and the post-test results showed an increase in the average class score of 84. Therefore, it can be concluded that the case method-based teaching module on ecosystem material can be categorized as effective in improving science learning outcomes of grade V students.

Abstract

This study aims to observe the effect of Indole Butyric Acid (IBA) concentration and coconut water on the growth of orchid plant shoots of Cattleya sp. In vitro using the tissue culture method. The research was conducted at the YAHDI Tissue Culture Laboratory from March to July 2024. There were 9 treatments with a combination of IBA concentrations (0, 1, 2 mg/l) and coconut water (0, 50, 100 ml/l), which were repeated 3 times each, resulting in a total of 27 experimental units. The variables observed included the time of emergence of shoots, the number of shoots, the number of leaves, and the height of the plantlet. The results showed that a coconut water concentration of 100 ml/l provided the best bud growth, while an IBA concentration of 1 mg/l and coconut water of 100 ml/l produced the highest number of leaves. However, variance analysis showed that the application of IBA and coconut water did not have a significant effect on the number of shoots, the number of leaves, and the height of orchid plantlets at the age of 6 MST. Observations showed that the interaction between IBA and coconut water was not optimal enough to stimulate bud growth, and the use of younger orchid leaves gave the best results. This study provides insight into the use of coconut water in tissue culture to improve the growth of Cattleya orchids, although its effectiveness is still limited to certain concentrations.

Abstract

Abstrak:Kegiatan laboratorium secara virtual pada mata kuliah Matematika Dasar di Fakultas MIPA Unimed dilakukan melalui simulasi interaktif pada topik pembahasan Integral Taktentu dan Integral Tentu. Simulasi interaktif tersebut disematkan pada LMS yang digunakan oleh Unimed dalam proses perkuliahan, yang disebut dengan Sistem Pembelajaran Daring (Sipda). Penelitian ini menunjukkan efektifitas penerapan laboratorium virtual melalui simulasi interaktif di mata kuliah Matematika Dasar pada masa pembelajaran daring. Efektivitas ditinjau dari dua pendekatan, yaitu kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Secara kualitatif simulasi interaktif telah divalidasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi. Kemudian simulasi tersebut diberikan kepada mahasiwa melalui LMS dan setelahnya mahasiswa diminta untuk mengisi angket respon dengan 5 rating scale skala Likert terhadap simulasi interaktif tersebut. Hasilnya adalah respon yang baik dari mahasiswa dengan rata-rata nilai angket 4,23. Secara kuantiatif dilakukan uji perbedaan peningkatakan nilai capaian pembelajaran antara mahasiswa yang diajarkan menggunakan simulasi interaktif dan mahasiswa yang diajarkan tanpa menggunakan simulasi interaktif. Data yang diperoleh diuji dengan uji-t melalui SPSS. Hasilnya terdapat perbedaan peningkatan capaian nilai pembelajaran secara signifikan antara mahasiswa yang diajarkan menggunakan simulasi interaktif dan mahasiswa yang diajarkan tanpa menggunakan simulasi interaktif. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa aktivitas laboratorium virtual melalui simulasi interaktif dapat dikatakan efektif. Kata Kunci:Efektivitas laboratorium virtual, simulasi interaktif, Software Maple Abstract:Virtual laboratory activities in the Basic Mathematics course at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed) were carried out through interactive simulations on the topic of the Indeterminate Integrals and Improper Integrals. The interactive simulation is embedded in the LMS used by Unimed in the learning process, and this is called Sistem Pembelajaran Daring (Online Learning System). This study presents the effectiveness of implementing virtual laboratories through interactive simulations in a Basic Mathematics course during online learning. The effectiveness is seen from two approaches, namely qualitative and quantitative approaches. Qualitatively, the interactive simulation has been validated by media experts and material experts. Then, the simulation was carried out with students through LMS, and after that, the students were asked to fill out a response questionnaire related to the interactive simulation with a 5 rating Likert scale. The results indicate that good responses were obtained from students in that the average score reached 4,23. Quantitatively, a test of the difference in the increase in the value of learning achievement was carried out on students who were taught using interactive simulations, and students who were not taught using interactive simulations. The data obtained were tested by t-test through SPSS. The results show that there is a significant difference in the achievement of learning scores between students who were taught using interactive simulations and students who were not taught using interactive simulations. Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Untuk mendapatkan teknik sterilisasi yang terbaik untuk eksplan batang anggrek Cattleya sp. muda. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan YAHDI Perum Pelabuhan Jl. Lambung No. 8 Tanah 600 Medan Marelan. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental laboratorium dalam mencobakan beberapa teknik sterilisasi. Untuk mengetahui teknik sterilisasi yang tepat, penelitian ini menggunakan eksplan lapang anggrek Cattleya Sp. dengan jenis pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Data dianalisis dan ditabulasi menggunakan parameter penelitian hari terkontaminasi, persentase eksplan yang terkontaminasi, persentase eksplan browning, persentase eksplan yang membengkak, persentase eksplan yang membentuk bakal tunas dan persentase eksplan hidup. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 2 teknik sterilisasi yang optimal dalam sterilisasi eksplan lapang Anggrek Cattleya Sp. yaitu teknik sterilisasi 2 dan 4. Teknik sterilisasi 2 menggunakan zat sterilan deterjen, akuades steril, Tween-20, benomil 50%, agrimicin, NaOCl 15% 10% dan alcohol 70% kemudian teknik sterilisasi 4 dengan zat sterilan Clorox 1,05%, HgCl 0,02% dan akuades steril merupakan teknik sterilisasi yang tersebut. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan rendahnya tingkat kontaminasi eksplan dan tampaknya spot-spot hijau pada eksplan dimana eksplan akan mengalami pertumbuhan tunas. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kontaminasi pada eksplan Anggrek Cattleya Sp. adalah kurangnya kehati-hatian praktikan pada saat melakukan sterilisasi eksplan lapang, kontaminasi endogenus yang tinggi dan penggunaan zat steril yang kurang tepat

Abstract

This study examines the differences in learning activity and autonomy between Grade 11 students in the boarding and non-boarding programs at SMAN 2 Balige. Total sampling was conducted from a population of 180 students; 90 students were in the boarding program, while the remaining 90 were in the non-boarding program. Data was gathered through two questionnaires focusing on learning activity and autonomy. The findings also showed that boarding students demonstrated higher learning autonomy than their non-boarding peers, as proved by the positive and significant value of an independent paired t-test. These results carry important policy implications for leveraging the benefits of dormitory programs to enhance educational oversight and performance.

Abstract

Animalia learning in high schools is still dominated by general textbooks that rarely integrate local biodiversity, resulting in limited cognitive learning outcomes. This study aimed to develop a Crustacea Booklet of Ujung Patikalo Beach as a learning resource for Animalia and to evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This Research and Development (R&D) study employed the 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The study involved six expert validators, one biology teacher, and two Grade X classes of SMA Negeri 1 Tukka as the experimental and control groups. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and cognitive achievement tests. The booklet was rated highly valid by experts (87.01–91.73%) and received very positive responses from the teacher and students (91.66–99.00%). The experimental class achieved a high N-Gain score (0.71), exceeding that of the control class (0.39). The Independent Sample t-test indicated a significant difference in cognitive learning outcomes between the two groups (p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that the developed booklet is a valid, practical, and effective local potential-based learning resource for improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes in Animalia.
