Abstract

Community service activities organized by the Faculty of Engineering at Unika Atma Jaya with the theme of providing basic electronics skills to junior high schools (SMP) at SMP Kristen Harapan untuk Bangsa Cilincing, North Jakarta have been held 2 (two) times. This program received a positive response from teachers and students in grade 1 of junior high school. In previous activities, teachers had not been involved in the process, so that program continuity could not be implemented routinely in schools. Therefore, in this PKM activity, basic electronics training will be focused on teachers. The aim of this training is to provide training for teachers so that in the future SMP Kristen Harapan untuk Bangsa can organize extracurricular programs regarding the basics of electronics. In this training, teachers receive training using the TinkerCad simulation program, which is a simulation program for assembling electronic circuits. The teachers also had the opportunity to assemble a series of simulation results of running lights and microcontrollers on the project board. Based on the feedback, teachers from different educational backgrounds were able to assemble and run a series of simulation results. It is hoped that in the future teachers can provide this training to their students.

Abstract

Abstract

The right schedule for taking medication according to the frequency given by the doctor is one of the success factors of the treatment process. However, due to the patient's busy schedule and physical limitations of the patient as well as in the case of the elderly who are unable to carry out their normal activities, it is necessary to remind them to take medication regularly according to the doctor's prescription. The research method uses the waterfall model, which was developed by Pressman. The alarm system in this medicine storage box is designed to dispense medicine and sound an alarm at a predetermined time. Users only need to enter the medicine to be consumed by setting the frequency and time of the alarm. This system uses a real-time clock connected to the Arduino Uno microcontroller. The system data input comes from the matrix keypad to enter the alarm time and the light sensor to detect the presence of medicine. The output of the microcontroller controls the buzzer as an alarm and the solenoid valve to open the box containing the medicine to be taken at a pre-programmed time. From the test results obtained that the device can dispense medicine according to the frequency and time of the alarm that has been determined by the user. Keywords: alarm; medicine storage box; Arduino Uno; real time clock Abstrak Jadwal minum obat yang tepat sesuai frekuensi yang diberikan dokter merupakan salah satu faktor keberhasilan dari proses pengobatan.

Abstract

The Electrical Design Laboratory is a facility where lecturers and students carry out various experiments, research and developments related to electricity. Monitoring electrical power can be a very smart move to manage expenses and also help reduce environmental impact. Electrical power usage that is not directly monitored during peak loads will result in excessive power usage. Therefore, MCB trips often occur in electrical design laboratories on switchboards with high loads, so the ability to monitor electric current usage is required. The PowerTag system was introduced to meet this tracking need for controlling Air Conditioning, Incandescent Lamps, Heaters, Dispancers and Vacuum Cleaner loads. The system is connected to the load to determine the magnitude of electrical parameters such as power, voltage, current, power factor, and then these parameters will be sent via the Zigbee communication protocol to the Concentrator. The concentrator receives data from PowerTag and then forwards it to a local server using the Modbus TCP/IP communication protocol to then be processed to the HMI for presenting data resulting from monitoring the system. The aim of this research is to design a tool that can detect current, voltage, power, power factor and frequency in real time. The research results show that the current flowing in the neutral conductor is 4.46 A and 6.69 A

Abstract

The development of information technology cannot be separated from the use of mobile applications, which are increasingly varied. Mobile applications allow users to easily connect to internet services anywhere. Cooperatives are joint business entities that generally still use the manual method for recording members, transactions and so on, which can lead to human errors and time inefficiencies. The existence of a website-based cooperative mobile application that is implemented on smartphones using the Xamarin.Forms framework can reduce these problems. Smartphones will make online cooperatives more effective because they are portable, easy to use and more affordable.

Abstract

This study introduces a scheduling model for a two-machine flow shop batch system to minimize the actual flow time. In this system, two machines are responsible for processing raw materials and producing finished products, with a single bottleneck machine. The entity overseeing the manufacturing process organizes demand units into batches, ensures the accurate and timely arrival of raw materials, and delivers all finished products punctually to meet an expected due date. The study addresses crucial challenges, including determining the optimal number of batches, sizes, and sequences to achieve the specified objective. The analysis adopted an algorithm grounded in the Lagrange relaxation method to tackle these challenges. Moreover, the algorithm is operated by identifying the bottleneck machine as a scheduling reference and determining the appropriate number of batches and sizes. The analysis showed the efficacy of the developed algorithm by using Johnson's rule for making batch sequence decisions through numerical experiments conducted across 1000 cases. The results showed a 1.44% to 4.43% improvement in efficiency compared to previous research, accompanied by a 2–8 times reduction in computational time.
