Abstract

Abstact. One of the bananas produced in Indonesia is banana kepok (Musa acuminata × Musa balbisiana (ABB Group) 'Kepok'. It is known that kepok banana peel has potential as an antibacterial. Compounds that have antibacterial potential include flavonoids, tannins and saponins. Based on this background, this study aims to determine how much total phenol and flavonoid levels are owned by kepok banana peel. In determining total phenol and flavonoid levels using the Uv-Vis spectrophotometer method. The results showed that total phenol levels were 135.3 mgGAE/g and flavonoids were 88.8 mgQE/g in kepok banana peel extract. Abstrak. Salah satu pisang yang diproduksi di Indonesia yaitu pisang kepok (Musa acuminata × Musa balbisiana (ABB Group) ‘Kepok’. Diketahui kulit pisang kepok memiliki potensi sebagai antibakteri. Senyawa yang memiliki potensi sebagai antibakteri diantaranya flavonoid, tannin dan saponin. Berdasarakan latar berlakang tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa banyak kadar fenol total dan flavonoid yang dimiliki oleh kulit pisang kepok. Pada penentuan kadar fenol total dan flavonoid menggunakan metode spektrofotometer Uv-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar fenol total terdapat 135,3 mgGAE/g dan flavonoid terdapat 88,8 mgQE/g pada ekstrak kulit pisang kepok.

Abstract

Abstract. Indonesia is a tropical country that has various types of plants. One of the plants that can grow in Indonesia is beluntas. Beluntas are plants that belong to the Asteraceae tribe which can grow wild. Beluntas are generally used as hedges or as additional food such as vegetables and fresh vegetables. One of the benefits of beluntas is as an antibacterial. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. This study aims to find, collect, and conclude the literature on the antibacterial potential of beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica L) against Staphylococcus epidermidis. . Based on a literature search, beluntas leaf extract has antibacterial activity against the acne-causing bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis. Abstrak. Indonesia merupakan negara tropis yang memiliki berbagai jenis tanaman. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat tumbuh di Indonesia adalah beluntas. Beluntas merupakan tanaman yang termasuk kedalam suku Asteraceae yang dapat tumbuh secara liar. Beluntas pada umumnya digunakan sebagai tanaman pagar ataupun sebagai makanan tambahan seperti sayur dan lalapan. Salah satu manfaat dari beluntas adalah sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematik Literatur Review (SLR). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari, mengumpulkan, dan menyimpulkan literatur tentang potensi antibakteri daun beluntas (Pluchea indica L) terhadap Staphylococcus epidermidis. . Berdasarkan penelusuran pustaka ekstrak daun beluntas memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri penyebab jerawat Staphylococcus epidermidis.

Abstract

The people of Ginger Village at Karasak Urban Village support the urban greening program by planting ginger plants in the yards and roadsides. Ginger is a traditional medicinal plant commodity that has the potential to be cultivated and developed into health products because of its various pharmacological effects. The PkM team has conducted Community Service Activities for active PKK cadres in Jahe village. This activity aims to educate residents of Ginger Village through PKK cadres about the importance of knowing reasonable ginger extraction procedures so that the benefits of ginger can be optimal as a nutritious ingredient with pharmacological effects. The service method is training in processing ginger using the infusion method. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge of up to 67%, which indicates that PKK cadres could understand how to extract ginger correctly to maintain its quality and properties.

Abstract

Abstract. Bangkok papaya (Carica papaya L.) seeds contain flavonoid compounds that are thought to have antioxidant activity. This study aims to determine the total flavonoid content and determine the antioxidant activity of 96% ethanol extract of Bangkok papaya seeds. The extraction of Bangkok papaya seeds was done using the maceration method. Determination of total flavonoid content was done by colorimetric method using AlCl3 reagent with quercetin comparator and antioxidant activity testing was done by DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method using vitamin C comparator. The results showed that the total flavonoid content was 192,80 mgQE/gr extract and the IC50 value of 96% ethanol extract of papaya seeds (Carica papaya L.) Bangkok variety was 2.374,79 ppm which is included in the category of very weak antioxidant activity. Abstrak. Biji pepaya (Carica papaya L.) varietas Bangkok mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang diduga memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar flavonoid total dan mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol 96% biji pepaya varietas Bangkok. Ekstraksi biji pepaya varietas Bangkok dilakukan dengan metode maserasi. Penetapan kadar flavonoid total dilakukan dengan metode kolorimetri menggunakan pereaksi AlCl3 dengan pembanding kuersetin dan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhidrazil) menggunakan pembanding vitamin C. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan kadar flavonoid total sebesar 192,80 mgQE/gr ekstrak dan nilai IC50 ekstrak etanol 96% biji pepaya (Carica papaya L.) varietas Bangkok sebesar 2.374,79 ppm yang termasuk dalam kategori aktivitas antioksidan sangat lemah.
